Jin Mi expressed her belief that Xu Feng was not responsible for the Water Immortal's death, but explained that her impending marriage to Run Yu was her father's dying wish, which she felt powerless to disobey. She then gave Xu Feng a lock of her hair, symbolizing her lingering affection, and wished that his heart was like hers.

Xu Feng, in turn, vowed that he would not let her marry Run Yu and assured her that he had a plan to cancel the engagement within three days, urging her to be patient until then. On the eve of the wedding, Run Yu and Kuang Lu were secretly modifying the celestial constellations, a forbidden act to manipulate fate.

Kuang Lu read out prophecies and strategies, stating that the Heavenly Emperor was brutal, lacking virtue, and deserved to be replaced by a wise ruler, and suggested to "fight to win or die." Run Yu affirmed that the Heaven Realm was in decadence and needed drastic measures, "destroying the old and establishing the new," which he believed aligned with the mandate of heaven. However, Kuang Lu questioned why he would proceed despite their slim chances of success.

Run Yu explained that some cosmic gambles required a desperate, all-or-nothing effort. Unbeknownst to them, Xu Feng discovered their manipulations and thwarted their efforts. Though Xu Feng recognized Run Yu's slim chances, he wondered what secret advantage Run Yu possessed to drive him to such extremes. Xu Feng visited Run Yu, bringing osmanthus wine and reminiscing about their carefree childhood, including their first shared drink.

However, Run Yu revealed that what Xu Feng recalled as pleasant memories were, for him, nightmares, haunted by vivid flashbacks of his mother cruelly punishing and confining him. Xu Feng apologized for the pain he inadvertently caused. Run Yu then directly questioned Xu Feng's late-night visit, knowing it wasn't merely to reminisce. Xu Feng urged Run Yu not to do anything he would regret on his wedding day.

Run Yu responded that he had nothing left and could surrender anything to Xu Feng except Jin Mi, vowing never to let her go. He asked Xu Feng if he cared about their brotherhood and parental upbringing, but also declared that he had endured for too long and was prepared to either gain everything or lose everything. Xu Feng pleaded with him not to let their relationship reach a breaking point and asked him to attend the wedding.

Run Yu reiterated that Xu Feng could take anything but Jin Mi, adding that he didn't need charity. Separately, Run Yu also sought out Yan You, inviting him to join his path and fulfill his mother's wishes. Yan You refused, stating his disagreement with Run Yu's methods and his belief that Run Yu was deeply afraid of abandonment, masked by cynicism.

Yan You concluded by saying he would not attend the wedding but promised to look after Li if anything happened. In the Floral Realm, Jin Mi was surrounded by well-wishes from the immortals, though the Moon Immortal repeatedly lamented that she was marrying the wrong person, calling it a pity. Jin Mi knelt before the Floral Chiefs, expressing profound gratitude for their many years of protection and care, admitting her past ignorance.

The Chiefs, despite the historical animosity between their realm and the Heaven Realm, assured her of their continued support, telling her she was always welcome to return, even if just for a visit or if Run Yu treated her poorly. Before changing into her wedding attire, Jin Mi entrusted Xu Feng's Phoenix Hairpin to the Moon Immortal, asking him to return it. The Moon Immortal, dismayed, questioned her loyalty and commitment to Xu Feng.

The wedding of Run Yu and Jin Mi was a grand affair in the Empyrean Cloud Palace, attended by many immortals. Run Yu presented a gift of Sparkling Aqua-essence to the Heavenly Emperor as a gesture of filial piety. As the auspicious moment for the vows approached, the Heavenly Emperor, noting Xu Feng's absence, suggested they proceed without him. However, just as the ceremony was about to begin, Xu Feng dramatically arrived, halting the proceedings.

He immediately reported to the Heavenly Emperor that Run Yu had amassed a hundred thousand heavenly soldiers in ambush around the palace. Run Yu's guard then informed him that their men were being ambushed by the Fire Immortal. Exposed, Run Yu revealed that Xu Feng's Three-Direction Heaven Troops had already been disarmed, signaling the start of his coup.

The Heavenly Emperor, enraged, denounced Run Yu as an unfaithful and unjust rebel and commanded his immediate arrest and imprisonment in Pisuo Jail. However, the Heavenly Emperor found himself paralyzed, unable to move. Run Yu then coolly revealed that the Sparkling Aqua-essence he had presented contained "Evil Incense Ashes," which would render the Heavenly Emperor powerless for two hours. Xu Feng, stunned by Run Yu's ruthlessness, accused him of being heartless.

Run Yu, in turn, unleashed a torrent of accusations against the Heavenly Emperor, detailing his past crimes: killing his own brother to ascend the throne, abandoning the Floral Immortal, marrying an evil woman, humiliating Su Li, and abandoning his own son. Run Yu declared that the Heaven Realm, despite its façade, was the most hypocritical and cruel place in all six realms.

He asserted that his rebellion was simply a natural cycle of retribution, and that his actions were solely to honor the memory of his late mother, asserting his clear conscience. Xu Feng tried to remind Run Yu of their father's upbringing, but Run Yu defiantly stated, "Winner takes all. I fear no death."

With the Heavenly Emperor incapacitated, Yin Que of the Bird Family, along with other immortals, publicly declared their loyalty to Run Yu, praising him for exposing the Heavenly Emperor's corruption and advocating for his enthronement to restore order. Xu Feng angrily denounced Yin Que's collusion, but Run Yu, now in control, commanded his forces to capture Xu Feng and his men. In the ensuing chaos, Lord Liaoyuan heroically sacrificed himself to save Xu Feng.

Overcome with grief and rage, Xu Feng unleashed his devastating Glazed Pure Fire. Witnessing this, Jin Mi, recalling a vision from a Beast of Dreams' dream and remembering the strand of hair she had given him, located its position—near his essence of Internal Dan. With a cold heart, she plunged an ice blade into that very spot, believing he had killed her father and Auntie Lin Xiu. The wound proved fatal.

As he lay dying, Xu Feng, utterly broken, looked at Jin Mi and asked if she had ever loved him. With a chilling gaze, Jin Mi replied, "Never." His last conscious thought was the cruel irony that he had kept her hair so close, allowing her to deliver the killing blow, and a final, agonizing curse, "I'll kill you, Jin Mi."
