> Ashes of Love Recap

Demon soldiers discovered Xu Feng, now in his mortal form after descending to the Human Realm for his tribulation. Badly injured after fighting against the Liangguo army, Xu Feng called out for help. As a demon soldier prepared to deliver a fatal blow, Jin Mi, who was passing by, inadvertently stepped in the way.

The demon soldier's attack was miraculously deflected by a magical artifact protecting Jin Mi, leading him to realize she was from the Heaven Realm before he fled. In the Demon Realm, the King of Gu City reported to the Demon Lord that Nether Fury had reappeared, confirming that the Mieling Family was not extinct and that any Mieling member capable of summoning it was extraordinary. He hinted that he suspected a specific individual.

The Demon Lord, anxious about his sons, inquired about Prince Xuan Shou's condition. The King of Gu City reported that Prince Xuan Shou remained unconscious, showing no signs of waking, contrary to the Fire Immortal’s promise that a Golden Reinvigorating Elixir would revive him in three days.

He accused Xu Feng of deliberately disregarding the princes’ lives, pointing out that with Prince Xuan Shou in a coma and Prince Chi Shou still mad, the Demon Realm faced an uncertain future without an heir. He concluded this was a deliberate scheme by the Heaven Realm to oppress them. Enraged, the Demon Lord swore that if his son did not recover, he would make Xu Feng pay dearly.

Later, upon learning of the failed attempt to kill Xu Feng in the mortal realm, the Demon Lord was furious. However, the King of Gu City reframed it as an opportunity, explaining that killing Xu Feng with a normal weapon would only end his tribulation, allowing him to return to the Heaven Realm. To truly annihilate him, they needed a Spirit-Vanishing Arrow.

Convinced, the Demon Lord ordered the King of Gu City to find one and kill Xu Feng, warning him to keep the plan from the King of Bian City. Meanwhile, the Empress, bent on her own revenge, received a Spirit-Vanishing Arrow forged from the flesh and blood of her subordinate. She ordered him to kill Jin Mi during her tribulation to ensure she could never return.

Jin Mi, discovering the severely wounded Xu Feng, initially suspected him to be a dangerous bandit due to the numerous dead soldiers nearby. However, driven by a doctor's benevolent duty to treat all, she resolved to care for him. She noted his surprisingly delicate complexion for a bandit and his incredible luck in surviving the massacre. Later, Qiang Huo noticed a sharp wound on Jin Mi and inquired about it.

Jin Mi explained she had been caught in the crossfire when a masked man attacked Xu Feng, but her magical artifact had protected her, leaving only a superficial wound. She then cautioned Qiang Huo not to worry their aunt and the elders. That night, suffering from chest pain, Jin Mi decided to use the millennium snow ginseng, a precious herb reserved for King Yi's Longevity Qiankun Pill, to treat Xu Feng.

Qiang Huo caught her, admonishing her for violating tribal rules and risking dire consequences. Jin Mi argued that the elixir for immortality was merely King Yi’s unrealistic fantasy, and a true healer's responsibility was to alleviate suffering. When Qiang Huo refused to yield, Jin Mi, with an apology, drugged her into unconsciousness. After receiving the millennium snow ginseng, Xu Feng finally awoke, disoriented to find himself dressed in women's clothing and questioning if he had died.

Jin Mi entered to check on him, but he instinctively restrained her before realizing he was both deaf and mute. Jin Mi wrote "Doctor" to communicate that she was his savior. Using paper and pen, Xu Feng asked about his prognosis. Jin Mi, impressed by his elegant handwriting for a supposed "bandit," inquired about his daily diet.

She discovered his meals consistently included incompatible ingredients, leading to a dangerous accumulation of toxins that would prove fatal within a year if left untreated. She assured him that his "uncommon disease" could be easily cured by an "extraordinary person," and playfully declared him her new test subject for powerful new herbs. When Xu Feng explained he was injured fighting the Liangguo army, Jin Mi simply believed him to be a bandit with a sense of patriotism.

She offered him wild grapes to mask the bitter taste of his medicine, teasing him when he found them sour and calling him a "jealous man." When Xu Feng asked why she saved him, disbelieving her "benevolent doctor" explanation, Jin Mi playfully cited his handsome appearance as a factor.

She then offered a more pragmatic reason: he was the sole survivor among many, making him an easy "find," and that he could "benefit their Saint Doctor Family" by being her test subject. As she prepared to leave, she again teased him about his charming appearance in women's clothes, prompting Xu Feng to internally dismiss her as an uncouth "village girl."

Later, Jin Mi reflected that despite initially thinking of Xu Feng as a fierce bandit, she found him disciplined and concluded he had likely turned to banditry out of necessity, resolving to treat him seriously. Sui He, who had been secretly training her Phoenix Troop to impress Xu Feng, received alarming news that King Yi (Xu Feng) had been ambushed by the Liangguo army in Luoye Mountain ten days prior.

All eighteen of his poorly-armed guards were killed, and King Yi’s whereabouts were unknown, though some two hundred enemy bodies were found. Despite her general’s advice for discretion due to the unstable political climate, an anxious Sui He grew impatient. Declaring her unwavering devotion, she stated that as his fiancée, she would become his widow if he died.

She rushed to her father, Duke Nanping, to devise a rescue plan, threatening to lead her Phoenix Troop to Luoye Mountain herself if they did not act swiftly. In the Demon Realm, the King of Gu City criticized the Liangguo army’s incompetence. He ordered his subordinate, Mu Ci, to lead troops to Luoye Mountain, instructing him to ensure only Xu Feng's corpse was recovered.

He also commanded Mu Ci to search for the remaining members of the Mieling Family and the Spirit-Vanishing Arrows, emphasizing that the first arrow found should be immediately used against Xu Feng. He strictly warned Mu Ci to keep these plans confidential. Elsewhere, Liu Ying, observing someone using an invisibility spell, followed him to the King of Gu City's mansion. Eavesdropping, she overheard his plots to hunt down Xu Feng and the Mieling remnants.

When discovered, Liu Ying boldly accused the King of Gu City of harboring "wild ambitions" by secretly collecting Spirit-Vanishing Arrows and Mieling Family members behind the Demon Lord's back. Infuriated, the King of Gu City ordered her immediate execution. Liu Ying managed to escape, but the King of Gu City, fed up with her interference, issued an order, falsely claiming it was from the Demon Lord, to hunt down and kill her.
