After Water Immortal successfully calmed the clashing spiritual energies within Jin Mi, he sensed the truth about her heritage. He informed the floral chiefs that he had already probed Jin Mi's primordial spirit and knew they could no longer hide her identity. He directly asked if Jin Mi was born during the frost fall, and when confirmed, he was filled with regret.

He apologized to Jin Mi, lamenting that he had failed to fulfill his fatherly duties for four thousand years and felt ashamed to face Zi Fen, her late mother. Upon waking, Jin Mi was disoriented, believing she was still dreaming when Water Immortal called her "Mi" and offered to help her.

She insisted he had mistaken her for someone else, stating she was merely a simple grape fairy, born and raised by nature, and wouldn't dare to falsely claim such a high status. Water Immortal gently dismissed her claims, confirming that her spirit unequivocally showed her to be the child of Zi Fen and himself. Jin Mi was stunned to hear the name Zi Fen, quickly realizing he meant the late Floral Immortal.

Believing it was a dream, she humorously attributed her supposed lineage to pretending to be a descendant of the Floral Immortal and scamming the Heavenly Emperor out of five thousand years of magic power. However, she soon realized it was all real and was confused about her true form, wondering if she was a drop of water or a flower.

Water Immortal explained that Zi Fen had sealed her primordial spirit with the Garan Seal, causing her true form to be disguised and hindering her spiritual cultivation, making her appear younger. He promised to take her to his master, Xuan Ling Lord Doumu, to remove the spell.

Jin Mi sought confirmation from Chief Peony, who affirmed the truth, stating that since Jin Mi's true form had already been revealed in the Heaven Realm, the secret could no longer be kept, and it was perhaps for the best that Water Immortal could now protect her. Jin Mi, overjoyed and accepting, finally embraced Water Immortal as her father, relieved that she now had both a father and a mother.

Water Immortal then inquired about the potent yang energy within Jin Mi. Jin Mi explained it was the Heavenly Emperor who, mistaking her for his own child, had transferred five thousand years of magic power to her in the illusion realm the previous night. Hearing this, Begonia was incensed, accusing the Heavenly Emperor of being shameless and unfit to rule.

She declared him Jin Mi's mother's murderer, asserting that Zi Fen’s soul would not have been destroyed if not for him. Water Immortal was shocked, demanding to know the true cause of Zi Fen's death, realizing the chiefs had kept it hidden for four millennia. Begonia, defying the oath she swore to Zi Fen, decided to reveal the truth, even if it meant destroying her own spirit.

She bitterly recounted how Zi Fen sacrificed all her protective cultivation to bear Jin Mi, and how Zi Fen's death coincided with Water Immortal's wedding night, insinuating his complicity. Chief Peony interjected, urging Begonia to stop, fearing Jin Mi would be hurt if she overheard their conversation and was dragged into past grievances.

Water Immortal, realizing the implications, questioned if Zi Fen died during the frost fall of year 28612, not the summer solstice of year 28613, as publicly known, demanding to know why her death had been concealed for nearly a year. Chief Peony reiterated the chiefs' oath to Zi Fen, refusing to divulge further. Mr. Hu then stepped in, subtly sending the chiefs away, and revealed the full extent of Zi Fen's tragic past to Water Immortal.

He recounted how Heavenly Emperor, then the second prince, meticulously courted Zi Fen, only to betray her by marrying Tu Yao, the Bird Family princess, for political power. Zi Fen was heartbroken, but Water Immortal's unwavering kindness and devotion gradually healed her, leading to a deep affection between them. However, after ascending to the throne, Heavenly Emperor’s obsession with Zi Fen persisted. When she resisted his advances, he forcibly defiled her.

Unaware she was pregnant with Jin Mi, a distraught Zi Fen attempted to end her life in the Wangchuan River. Heavenly Emperor intervened, preventing her suicide and imprisoning her in Qi Wu Palace. To further crush Zi Fen’s spirit, Heavenly Emperor conspired to arrange a marriage between Water Immortal and Wind God, making sure Zi Fen would witness his joy with another.

Water Immortal, however, defied the Emperor's order, stating his heart belonged to someone else and he would rather lose his immortal status than betray his true feelings. Mr. Hu continued, explaining that even after Tu Yao became Empress, her jealousy over Heavenly Emperor's lingering affection for Zi Fen led her to push Zi Fen off Linyuan Terrace, inflicting severe injuries.

Knowing her death was imminent and not wanting to implicate Water Immortal, Zi Fen coldly rejected him, falsely claiming she had never loved him and only loved the Heavenly Emperor, urging him to marry Wind God and find happiness. With her last remaining magic power, Zi Fen then gave birth to Jin Mi. Water Immortal, consumed by grief and rage, vowed to avenge Zi Fen by killing the "poisonous woman" (Tu Yao), even if it meant his own demise.

Mr. Hu reminded him that Zi Fen's last wish was for the Floral Realm to remain peaceful, free from endless cycles of revenge.

He explained that Zi Fen had foreseen Jin Mi's eventual love trial and, to prevent her daughter from suffering a similar fate, she entrusted the chiefs with the secret of Jin Mi’s birth, ordered her to wear male clothing, and confined her to the Water Mirror for ten thousand years under Mr. Hu's watchful eye, hoping for a carefree life for Jin Mi.

Meanwhile, in Xuanji Palace, Run Yu, who had earlier overheard Water Immortal acknowledging Jin Mi, discussed the unfolding events with Kuang Lu. He expressed his immense joy that Jin Mi was Water Immortal's daughter, confirming her status as his fiancée under the four-thousand-year agreement. Kuang Lu questioned if Jin Mi was not Heavenly Emperor's child, to which Run Yu clarified that Water Immortal had verified Jin Mi's true lineage, and a public announcement would soon follow.

Run Yu confessed his happiness was tempered by nervousness, especially after overhearing Water Immortal’s deep-seated resentment towards Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress, which might jeopardize the marriage. Kuang Lu reminded him that an immortal's oath was unbreakable. Run Yu then expressed his reluctance to hurt Xu Feng, knowing his brother also held feelings for Jin Mi.

Kuang Lu, advocating for Run Yu, highlighted Xu Feng's privileged position as the Heavenly Emperor's favored son and urged Run Yu not to give up his destined wife. Run Yu ultimately resolved to wrong Xu Feng just this once, vowing to repay him a hundredfold or a thousandfold in the future, wondering if Xu Feng would blame him. Heavenly Emperor later summoned Chief Peony, demanding to know if Jin Mi was truly his child.

Chief Peony, invoking Zi Fen's spirit, steadfastly denied it, stating that Jin Mi was born during the frost fall, a year before the Summer Solstice when Zi Fen was said to have died. Heavenly Emperor admitted his past wrongs against Zi Fen and his desire to compensate the Floral Realm, not wishing for Jin Mi to be an orphan.

Chief Peony sternly reminded him of Zi Fen's true cause of death and how Heavenly Empress Tu Yao had recently desecrated Zi Fen's tomb and almost killed Jin Mi in the Floral Realm. She implored Heavenly Emperor, for the sake of their past relationship, to leave Zi Fen's sole descendant out of the perilous struggles of the Heaven Realm, emphasizing that Jin Mi was safest within the Floral Realm.

Heavenly Emperor agreed to reconsider the matter but declared his resolve to openly acknowledge Jin Mi one day and bring her back to the Heaven Realm with due honor, believing it would be a form of closure for Zi Fen's spirit. Chief Peony replied that she would patiently wait and see. Jin Mi then visited Zi Fen’s tomb, bringing her favorite flower biscuits, handmade by herself.

She poured out her heart to her unseen mother, expressing both resentment for being left alone and confined to the Water Mirror for so long, and a deep longing she had always harbored for a mother. She talked about finding her father, Water Immortal, and mused on the surprising way they had finally "reunited." Despite her complaints about her mother's actions, she thanked Zi Fen for bringing her into the world, promising to return when she had time.

Later, Water Immortal consulted Chief Peony about another restriction he found in Jin Mi’s body, apart from the Garan Seal, which Mr. Hu had refused to disclose. Chief Peony explained that Zi Fen had personally placed this restriction, having foreseen that Jin Mi would face a significant "love trial" in ten thousand years, and it was meant to protect her from this misfortune.

She assured Water Immortal that it was born of a parent's love and posed no harm to Jin Mi. Water Immortal, trusting Zi Fen's intentions, decided to let the matter rest. However, another floral chief questioned Chief Peony why they didn't reveal the truth about the Yun Elixir to Water Immortal, now that he was Jin Mi's father.

Chief Peony responded that Water Immortal's compassionate nature would likely lead him to remove the Yun Elixir, which suppresses Jin Mi's true nature, thus risking her falling victim to the prophesied love trial and betraying Zi Fen’s last wishes. Water Immortal prepared to take Jin Mi to the Empyrean Cloud Palace, advising her to remain quiet and avoid engaging with Heavenly Empress Tu Yao. On their way, they encountered Rat Immortal, whom Jin Mi greeted respectfully.

Shortly after, Run Yu appeared, seemingly by coincidence. He expressed concern for Jin Mi after her recent return to the Floral Realm and offered to accompany her to the Heavenly Palace for protection against the still-angry Heavenly Empress. Jin Mi dismissed his concerns, urging him not to neglect his nightly duties. Run Yu then, in a calculated move meant for Water Immortal, expressed his gratitude for Jin Mi's past kind words about him.

He then regretfully stated that he had a long-standing engagement, implying he might have to disappoint Jin Mi's affection. Jin Mi, oblivious to the deeper meaning, simply declared that they were friends and she would like him regardless of his engagement. Run Yu reciprocated, "I like you too," just as he noticed Water Immortal's presence, offering a polite apology for his presumed inattentiveness, thus cementing a false impression of mutual affection between him and Jin Mi in Water Immortal's eyes.
