> Ashes of Love Recap

Today marks the Heavenly Empress's birthday, but Run Yu is in no hurry to attend the celebration. He explains to Jin Mi that he is not the Heavenly Empress's biological son; his birth mother was merely a common spirit who passed away long ago, leading to his adoption by the Heavenly Empress.

He reminisces about the early years when his relationship with the Heavenly Empress was harmonious, but after Xu Feng's birth, her concern for her son's claim to the throne caused their bond to gradually fray. Jin Mi suggests that while his presence might displease the Heavenly Empress, fulfilling his filial duties would demonstrate his propriety. Convinced, Run Yu decides to attend the banquet.

Upon Run Yu's arrival at the Southern Heavenly Gate, Kuang Lu appears, presenting a beautiful crystal bottle intended for collecting dew. Run Yu praises the quality of items from Immortal Tai Si's mansion, revealing his knowledge of Kuang Lu's lineage. She then asks if the dew he has diligently collected over the past few years, irradiated by starlight, is meant as a birthday gift for the Heavenly Empress, but Run Yu offers no reply.

Meanwhile, Jin Mi, bored alone in the residence, is surprised by the sudden appearance of Yan You. He tempts her with stories of thousands of holy peaches, grown on hundred-thousand-year-old trees watered by holy water, which ripen only every three thousand years and are renowned for significantly boosting magic power.

Although Jin Mi initially worries about alarming Chief Peony and risking capture, the promise of these power-boosting peaches and the slim chance of meeting a Da Luo Jin Xian who might save Rou Rou, persuades her. At the Southern Heavenly Gate, Yan You and Jin Mi are stopped by Heaven Guardians who demand an invitation. Yan You's initial attempt to use his friendship with Moon Immortal proves futile. Instead, he retrieves a Phoenix Feather hairpin from Jin Mi's bun.

Recognizing it as Fire Immortal Xu Feng's personal treasure and a symbol of power, the Heaven Guardians respectfully grant them entry. Yan You advises Jin Mi to keep the feather safe, noting its significant utility. Once seated at the banquet, Yan You points out various immortals to Jin Mi, including the Water Immortal and Wind God.

Yan You, who claims to have written "The Beauty Encyclopedia," details other goddesses like Wushan Goddess Yao Ji, known for her sexy plumpness but thick waist, and Nvying from Xiangshui, whose delicate beauty is endearing but makes her too fragile. He also mentions Jing Wei, a heroic figure who once filled the sea with pebbles but possesses an overly strong personality for most men. He laments the decline of beauties, praising the late Flower God Zi Fen as incomparably beautiful.

Jin Mi feels an unusual sense of familiarity and calm upon seeing the Water Immortal, though Yan You finds this strange, describing the Water Immortal as aloof and detached from the world, despite once being ranked the most handsome man in the realms. Jin Mi then overhears other guests speculating that the lavish banquet is also intended to finalize Xu Feng's marriage. Learning that Xu Feng is to choose a wife, Jin Mi experiences an inexplicable pain in her chest.

Yan You clarifies that despite Xu Feng's high status as a prince, his marriage is a political matter beyond his personal choice. The Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress make their grand entrance, commanding everyone's attention. All the immortals bow in reverence to wish the Heavenly Empress a long life. Run Yu approaches the Heavenly Empress separately to offer his birthday wishes. Noticing the simple vine hairpin he wears, the Heavenly Empress inquires about its origin.

Run Yu explains that it is a gift from a cherished friend and, though ordinary compared to other ornate hairpins, it holds immeasurable value to him. Xu Feng, observing from a distance, immediately recognizes the vine hairpin as belonging to Jin Mi, feeling a tumult of emotions. Suddenly, Jin Mi spots a rat on her lap and screams in fright. The Heavenly Empress, irritated by the disturbance, uses her magic to dispel Jin Mi's illusion, revealing her true form.

Both the Heavenly Emperor and Water Immortal are struck by Jin Mi's striking resemblance to the late Flower God Zi Fen, momentarily lost in contemplation. Moon Immortal quickly intervenes, releasing Jin Mi from the magical binds and fabricating a story that Jin Mi is Xu Feng's attendant, raised in Qiwu Palace since childhood. The Heavenly Emperor and Water Immortal press for more details about her origins, learning she is from the Floral Realm's Water Mirror.

As they ponder this revelation, Moon Immortal deftly diverts the conversation, sparing Jin Mi further interrogation. To shift the Heavenly Empress's focus, the Heavenly Emperor suggests Sui He perform her special dance. The Heavenly Empress is delighted and arranges for Sui He to sit beside Xu Feng. The two engage in intimate whispers, appearing to be a perfect couple. The Heavenly Empress remarks that they resemble a painting in her palace titled "A Perfect Match of Pearl and Jade."

Jin Mi, recalling seeing the same painting in Moon Immortal's picture album, innocently speculates aloud that Sui He must have engaged in "spirit training" with Xu Feng. Sui He is enraged, accusing Jin Mi of talking nonsense. Unaware of the true meaning of "spirit training," Jin Mi, in her desire to boost her magic, boldly suggests she and Sui He "discuss the secrets of spirit training" for mutual advancement.

The Heavenly Empress is furious at Jin Mi's "offensive and indecent" words, ordering Thunder God and Lightning Goddess to drag her out and execute her. Xu Feng quickly rises to plead for Jin Mi's life, but the Heavenly Empress's attack is launched directly at Jin Mi, who is instantly protected by the Phoenix Feather she wears. Xu Feng and Run Yu kneel before the Heavenly Empress, begging for her mercy.

Seeing the escalating tension, Yan You quickly spirits Jin Mi away. The Heavenly Empress commands Thunder God and Lightning Goddess to pursue and apprehend them, with Xu Feng and Run Yu also giving chase. Realizing that only Xu Feng can truly protect Jin Mi, Yan You entrusts her to him, then departs with a playful promise to train harder to win her back.

Fearing Xu Feng will take her back to the Heaven Realm for execution, Jin Mi expresses her concern. Xu Feng, hurt that she still doesn't understand his feelings, promises to personally escort her back to the Floral Realm, stating that they must never meet again. Jin Mi feels a familiar ache in her chest as she hears his words. Soon after, Run Yu, Chief Peony, and Chief Begonia arrive.

Thunder God and Lightning Goddess, having caught up, attempt to take Jin Mi away under the Heavenly Empress's orders. However, Xu Feng asserts his authority, reminding them that their loyalty lies with him, not the Heavenly Empress, and orders them to return to the Heaven Realm immediately. They comply. Run Yu then takes responsibility for having taken Jin Mi out of the Water Mirror, apologizing to the two Chiefs for the trouble caused.

He explains his intention was simply to free Jin Mi from her confinement, as her lively and curious nature seemed stifled in the Water Mirror. Despite the Chiefs' continued suspicion, Jin Mi interjects, defending Run Yu by declaring that he is a good dragon and that she likes him.
