Shortly after, Li Wei sought out Jiang Chen for a conversation, and Chen Xiaoxi discreetly watched them from outside the classroom door.
Wu Baisong walked over to Chen Xiaoxi and, noticing her silent observation, sarcastically commented loudly on Jiang Chen and Li Wei being a "cute couple meeting at the corridor." He provocatively poured Lin Jingxiao's vitamin C tablets into her cup. Witnessing this, Lin Jingxiao angrily shoved him, yelling that he was insane. Jiang Chen followed Lu Yang out, where Lu Yang poured out his feelings, asking Jiang Chen if it was amusing for everyone to watch him foolishly pursue Lin Jingxiao, knowing all along she liked Li Shu. That evening, Lu Yang found solace alone on the basketball court, reminiscing about his precious moments with Lin Jingxiao as his sorrow flowed freely. The next day, Li Wei, in a state of mental distress, went to the school rooftop and approached the edge, seemingly contemplating suicide. Jiang Chen and Li Shu immediately rushed to the rooftop and managed to rescue her. Li Wei, disoriented, denied any intention of suicide, remarking on the nice view.
Soon after, Li Wei's mother arrived at the school and caused a commotion, vehemently blaming the school for providing her daughter with medication and threatening to sue. To avoid her mother's wrath, Li Wei falsely accused Li Shu of giving her diazepam. Realizing there was no time to wait for an ambulance, Li Shu made the critical decision to administer an adrenaline shot, heroically saving Lu Yang's life. Lu Yang was then hospitalized and would not return to school before the college entrance exam. Li Shu ultimately decided to leave the school, pursuing his long-held dream of joining Doctors Without Borders in Africa.
Before his departure, he advised Lin Jingxiao to always prioritize her own safety when trying to help others and to visit the infirmary less frequently, adding that truth is not always the most important and that his responsibility as a teacher was to protect all of them.
He also informed the director that he, not Lin Jingxiao, was responsible for providing the diazepam, leading to the cancellation of Lin Jingxiao's serious demerit, though she still had to make a self-reflection speech to the entire school. Chen Xiaoxi, Lin Jingxiao, and Wu Baisong gathered to bid farewell to Li Shu, with Wu Baisong jokingly promising to find him in Africa for a swimming competition. During Lin Jingxiao's self-reflection speech at the flag-raising ceremony, Lu Yang made a dramatic entrance with his hair dyed in multiple colors.
