> Legend of Zang Hai Recap

Zang Hai was imprisoned in the dungeon. From the prison guard, he learned that Xiang Antu was to marry into the Eastern Sea tribe, and he was burning with anxiety. Xiang Antu obtained permission from Ming Yan Yinshu to bid farewell to Zang Hai in the dungeon. When Zang Hai found out she was going to be married off, he was reluctant but powerless to stop it.

Ming Yan Yinshu had people watching them, so Zang Hai and Xiang Antu only talked about how Zhuang Zhixing had won the championship in the polo match. Xiang Antu had been sent to Great Yong as a hostage since childhood. She spent the night talking with the old maid who had once served her mother, learning about what had happened in Dongxia over the past ten years, and entrusted the maid with a task.

Xiang Antu feared her sister Ming Yan Yinshu would kill Zang Hai, so she insisted on having Zang Hai escort her to the Eastern Sea tribe and then letting him go. Ming Yan Yinshu, after much consideration, reluctantly agreed. Xiang Antu informed Ming Yan Yinshu about Zhao Bingwen's plan to build an army in Dongxia. Once Zhao Bingwen used the Gui Seal to dominate the world, her marriage alliance with the Eastern Sea tribe would become meaningless.

But Ming Yan Yinshu didn’t want to hear her complaints and insisted on her going through with the marriage. Xiang Antu left Dongxia, and Zang Hai accompanied the bridal escort. The grand procession departed Dongxia, and the Eastern Sea's welcoming party arrived early. Zang Hai recognized the leader as Xiang Hong, a subordinate of Zhuang Zhixing, in disguise. When Xiang Antu had visited him in the dungeon, Zang Hai had hinted for her to seek help from Zhuang Zhixing.

Xiang Antu had asked the maid to deliver a message to him. Once the escort confirmed the identity of the welcoming party, they left at ease. Xiang Antu mounted Zang Hai’s horse, and they followed Xiang Hong to Zhuang Zhixing’s military camp. Zang Hai thanked Zhuang Zhixing for rescuing them. It had been a year since they last met, and Zhuang Zhixing had now been promoted to General Zhaoyi.

Zang Hai noticed how much more composed and mature he had become and told him everything about how Zhao Bingwen had framed him. When Zhuang Zhixing learned that Zhao Bingwen was the third person Zang Hai held a grudge against, he showed no expression—only surprise that his father Zhuang Luyin had lied to him before his death. Zang Hai suspected that Zhao Bingwen had long since bought off Zhuang Zhixing.

He told Xiang Antu about this and wanted to leave the camp as soon as possible, fearing it would be too late once Zhuang Zhixing revealed their whereabouts to Zhao Bingwen. Xiang Antu overheard from the soldiers that Zhao Bingwen had ordered Zhuang Zhixing to conscript laborers in Dongxia to build the Fengshan Altar. Zang Hai was determined to stop him.

Zhuang Zhixing suddenly came to warn Zang Hai and Xiang Antu not to wander around and posted guards outside their tent. Zang Hai knocked the guards unconscious and tried to leave with Xiang Antu during the night, but they were intercepted by Zhuang Zhixing. Zang Hai became certain Zhuang Zhixing had sided with Zhao Bingwen and, heartbroken, told him how Zhao Bingwen had once saved him and used him for revenge.

He warned Zhuang Zhixing not to fall into Zhao Bingwen’s trap. Zhuang Zhixing tried to persuade Zang Hai to change his name and follow him, but Zang Hai politely declined—his only goal was to destroy the Gui Seal. After some thought, Zhuang Zhixing came to Zang Hai, agreeing to let them go and allowing him to destroy the Gui Seal.

Zang Hai and Xiang Antu went to the site where Kuai Duo had built the Fengshan Altar, searching for an entrance. They hoped to find a way to undo the Yin Soldiers from the holy ground where the Gui Seal was sealed. The altar had long since collapsed, but Zang Hai followed the direction of the water flow and eventually found the entrance.

Together, they pushed open the massive stone gate, which led to the sacred site where Xiang Antu’s grandmother, Queen Ming Lühuda, had sealed the Gui Seal. Xiang Antu spotted a rope hanging from above—Zang Hai guessed it had been left by his father. Zang Hai and Xiang Antu continued deeper inside and saw the dried corpses of Dongxia soldiers standing upright.

Zang Hai lit the candelabra in the main hall with a torch and found where the Gui Seal was kept. Xiang Antu saw a corpse on the ground and retrieved a notebook compiled by Zhang Mie. It detailed how Great Yong had invaded Dongxia and how Zhang Mie, skilled in geomancy, had suggested to Queen Ming Lühuda the use of the Gui Seal to summon the Yin Soldiers.

After Zhang Mie produced the Gui Seal, Queen Ming Lühuda summoned thirty thousand soldiers. But the Gui Seal did not immediately summon the Yin Soldiers. Zhang Mie used his own blood to soak the Gui Seal. It contained a rare poison. The soldiers who drank the ceremonial wine tainted by the poison became invincible war gods. This army crushed everything in its path, conquered several cities in Great Yong, and even took Dancheng, the gateway to Great Yong’s capital.

When Queen Ming Lühuda realized the soldiers were beyond control, she used royal blood to stop them. Before she died, she ordered Zhang Mie to seal both the Gui Seal and the entire army. After reading the booklet, Xiang Antu and Zang Hai finally understood the origin of the Yin Soldiers. Just as they were about to leave, a group of grotesque, monstrous people appeared and surrounded them.

Zang Hai realized it was an illusion and quickly pulled Xiang Antu away. He suspected Zhang Mie had used hallucinogens when painting the murals. As they emerged, they found themselves surrounded by Zhuang Zhixing and his soldiers, and Zhao Bingwen stepped down from a carriage behind them.
