Wen Kexing was convinced that Zhou Zishu had changed his appearance and tried several times to expose his true identity, but Zhou Zishu deftly deflected each attempt. Wen Kexing was curious why Mirror Lake Manor had provoked people from Ghost Valley of Mount Qingya, but Zhang Chengling was also unaware, and Zhou Zishu was even less interested.

Wen Kexing brought up children's rhymes, claiming that it was widely rumored in the martial world that the evil Rong Xuan had left behind an armory that could render one invincible. To open the armory, the Glazed Armor was required, and various sects were killing each other to obtain it. Zhou Zishu thought these people were just greedy and unworthy of discussion, forcing Wen Kexing to keep quiet.

Shen Shen, the head of the Dagu Mountain Sect, arrived at Mirror Lake Manor in a small boat and found the place littered with corpses. Deng Kuan, the top disciple of the Yueyang Sect, and others were helping to clean up the bodies. Shen Shen learned that his sworn brothers Zhang Yusen, Zhang Chengluan, and Zhang Chengfeng had been brutally killed. Devastated, he was grief-stricken.

Deng Kuan knelt and admitted his mistake, explaining that they had come to deliver an invitation to Zhang Yusen. Unexpectedly, all the boats at the dock were driven away, and they watched helplessly as the manor burned. By the time they arrived, it was too late. Shen Shen raised his head and vowed to avenge the Zhang family.

Tao Hongpo and Green Willow Elder soon arrived and cursed Shen Shen, calling him a lackey of Five Lakes Alliance leader Gao Chong and telling him to follow Zhang Yusen in death. Shen Shen was enraged, but Beggar Sect elder Huang He arrived in time to mediate, urging everyone to put the greater good above personal grudges. Zhou Zishu woke early to find Wen Kexing staring at him. He roused Zhang Chengling and continued their journey.

Wen Kexing, still suspicious of Zhou Zishu's identity but lacking evidence, followed him with Gu Xiang. Huang He and Shen Shen’s group finished clearing the bodies but couldn’t find Zhang Chengling. Just as they were about to search the backyard, they discovered that the Hanging Ghost's Soul-Binding Threads had sealed the gate, leading them to suspect that the Ghost Valley of Mount Qingya was responsible for the massacre.

Shen Shen handed the alliance token to Deng Kuan and instructed him to report back to their master and rally the brothers to find Zhang Chengling. Huang He promised to help in the search. Green Willow Elder and Tao Hongpo hated the Five Lakes Alliance deeply. Huang He tried to reason with them, explaining that the Danyang Sect had been slaughtered while fighting over the Glazed Armor in Lu Taichong’s possession.

Only two disciples survived and took refuge under Taishan Sect leader Ao Laizi. Now, with Mirror Lake Manor also annihilated, Huang He couldn't help but sigh. Zhou Zishu and Zhang Chengling traveled day and night. Just as they were about to rest by the roadside, Wen Kexing, persistent as ever, awaited them. Zhou Zishu ignored him and pressed on. By the riverside, Wen Kexing caught up again, prompting Zhou Zishu to leave without a word.

At the inn, Zhou Zishu found that Wen Kexing had booked all the rooms. With no other inns nearby, Zhou Zishu planned to stay in the woodshed, but Wen Kexing offered them the best room and even provided new clothes. Zhou Zishu inspected everything carefully before letting Zhang Chengling rest. Zhang Chengling was reluctant to undress, so Zhou Zishu showed concern about his injuries. Zhang Chengling quickly made excuses to hide the truth.

Zhou Zishu went downstairs for tea and found Wen Kexing waiting. Zhou Zishu got straight to the point, questioning Wen Kexing’s true intentions. Wen Kexing claimed he only wanted to see Zhou Zishu's real face and pressed him about his relationship with Zhang Chengling. Zhou Zishu avoided answering. Gu Xiang arrived, and she and Wen Kexing mocked Zhou Zishu in turn. Huang He gave Zhang Chengling’s portrait to the Beggar Sect disciples and told them to search for him.

Wen Kexing invited Zhou Zishu and Zhang Chengling for a meal. While Zhang Chengling went to wash his hands, he was spotted by a Beggar Sect disciple but didn’t realize it. Zhang Chengling had no appetite and was scolded by Gu Xiang. He had to force himself to eat.

Gao Chong gathered the sect leaders and publicly announced a Hero's Conference on the fifteenth of July, calling for all sects to attack Mount Qingya and eliminate Ghost Valley to avenge Zhang Yusen and his family. The crowd was stirred and swore to destroy Ghost Valley. Taishan Sect leader Ao Laizi was escorting the last two Danyang Sect disciples to Mount Wudang. They endured many hardships and had to constantly evade Five Lakes Alliance pursuers like Shen Shen.

Ao Laizi swore to protect the Glazed Armor with his life. Zhou Zishu was cultivating when he heard a commotion. He rushed to protect Zhang Chengling, who had awakened from a nightmare. Zhou Zishu comforted him and then went outside, only to see that Wen Kexing had already killed two masked attackers.
