Gao Chong watches Deng Kuan commit suicide before his eyes and is overwhelmed with grief. He prepares to go down with the martial world. Shen Shen vows to live and die with Gao Chong. Huang He calls on everyone to fight Gao Chong to the death. Mu Siyuan, who lost a son at Qingya Mountain, is the first to charge at Gao Chong. Gao Chong draws his sword in return but only breaks the opponent’s weapon without wounding him.

An elder from the Qingfeng Sword Sect senses a plot against Gao Chong and decides to leave quietly with his disciples. Huang He urges the Beggars' Sect to fight alongside him. Zhang Chengling stands on stage, unsure what to do. Zhou Zishu sneaks up and tries to take Zhang Chengling away. Zhao Jing blocks him. Huang He, unaware of Zhou Zishu’s identity, agrees to help him rescue Zhang Chengling.

Zhou Zishu curses Huang He, who orders the Beggars' Sect disciples to attack him. Huang He then charges to kill Zhang Chengling, but Wen Kexing arrives just in time to help. Gao Chong is surrounded. Zhang Chengling watches anxiously. Gao Chong tells Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing to take Zhang Chengling away, and they comply. Gao Chong and Shen Shen fight desperately, surrounded by various sects. Feng Xiaofeng seizes the chance to knock over the Five Lakes Monument.

Gao Chong tries to stop him but is too late. Gao Shan rushes in to help and is killed by Feng Xiaofeng. The monument collapses. Gao Chong, devastated by Gao Shan’s death, screams in despair as his last hope crumbles. Zhao Jing pleads with Gao Chong to hand over the Glazed Armor. Huang He pressures him.

Zhao Jing kneels and begs Huang He to spare Gao Chong and urges Gao Chong to think of Gao Xiaolian, not to let her carry the burden of her predecessors' sins. After much consideration, Gao Chong agrees to hand over the Glazed Armor, hoping Gao Xiaolian can live a normal life. Shen Shen tries to stop him, but Gao Chong knocks him unconscious. Gao Chong furiously accuses Huang He of framing him with such despicable means.

He takes out three pieces of the Glazed Armor and publicly announces his break from the Five Lakes Alliance. He crushes the pieces and throws them to the ground. Huang He cries out in distress. Torrential rain pours down. Gao Chong crashes into the ruined monument and dies on the spot. Zhang Chengling sobs uncontrollably, and Zhou Zishu holds him tightly. Wen Kexing is stunned, filled with guilt after seeing so many die for the Glazed Armor.

Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu take Zhang Chengling to a cave to hide. Wen Kexing stands at the entrance in deep thought. Zhou Zishu, having settled Zhang Chengling, joins him. Wen Kexing doubts whether he is an evil person. Zhou Zishu mocks him. Wen Kexing initially just wanted to watch a good show but ended up overreaching. Zhou Zishu cannot guess who the mastermind is but sees through Zhao Jing’s cunning tactics. Zhao Jing manipulates the situation to appear uninvolved.

Wen Kexing vows to send all demons and monsters back to the eighteenth level of hell. Zhou Zishu promises to help him with all his strength. As Zhou Zishu predicted, Zhao Jing is revealed as the mastermind behind the conspiracy. He is the adoptive father of the Scorpion King. The Scorpion King used venom to control Deng Kuan and made him kill himself in front of everyone, leading to Gao Chong’s death out of guilt.

Zhao Jing feigned weakness for over twenty years and is finally triumphant. He had his adoptive son Song Huairen steal the Glazed Armor hidden in the Five Lakes Alliance. The Scorpion King came to retrieve it, but Song Huairen insisted on seeing Zhao Jing’s seal first. Enraged, the Scorpion King killed him. Zhao Jing gives the completed Glazed Armor to the Scorpion King, who wears it around his neck.

Zhao Jing sends the Scorpion King to pacify Mu Siyuan, intending to use him as a figurehead. The Scorpion King admires Zhao Jing’s cunning. Zhao Jing vows to eventually control the entire martial world. Knowing that Madam Taohong and Elder Lüliu have abducted Gao Xiaolian, Zhao Jing decides to spare her to appear righteous to the martial world. Ye Baiyi captures Long Xiao and hands him over to Zhou Zishu.

Wen Kexing mocks Ye Baiyi, and the two nearly come to blows. Zhou Zishu rushes to stop them. Huang He recounts Gao Chong’s suicide in detail to Madam Taohong and Elder Lüliu. Upon hearing of her father’s tragic death, Gao Xiaolian silently weeps. Shen Shen wants to search for Gao Xiaolian. Zhao Jing begs him to stay, but Shen Shen is determined to find her and then retreat to the bamboo forest in Dabie Mountain to live in seclusion.

He hands over the Five Lakes Alliance entirely to Zhao Jing, who is more than happy to accept. The Scorpion King wants to kill Shen Shen to eliminate future trouble, but Zhao Jing forbids him from acting on his own, intending to use Shen Shen to witness his final triumph. Unable to bear his hunger, Ye Baiyi had no choice but to take the dry rations Zhou Zishu offered.

Ye Baiyi found them hard to swallow, prompting Wen Kexing's ridicule, and the two once again engaged in a verbal sparring match. Ye Baiyi then instructed Zhou Zishu to investigate the old events concerning Rong Xuan and the Lapis Armor through Long Xiao.
