> Till the End of the Moon Recap

Li Susu arrived at the Demon Palace to confront Tantai Jin, demanding to know why he chose to become the Devil God. Tantai Jin responded that he became the Devil God because of his hatred for her. He recalled how, five centuries ago, she betrayed him on their wedding day, attempting to take his life.

While he spent five centuries searching for her in the Nether River, enduring constant torment and bodily erosion, she remained an indifferent immortal in the Heaven Lake on Mount Changze. He felt this was profoundly unfair, reminding her of her past words that he was born to be the Devil God and that hatred would always run deeper than love in his heart. Li Susu accused Tantai Jin of lying, but he denied it.

The consciousness of the previous Devil God, still lingering within him, tried to sway him, urging him to kill Li Susu. It claimed that anyone connected to Tantai Jin, including family, friends, and master, would inevitably meet a tragic end, asserting that the world had never truly loved him, and only suffering was his eternal destiny.

As the previous Devil God continued to demean Li Susu, calling her the ill-bred daughter of Di Mian and Chu Huang and reminding Tantai Jin that she initially came to kill him, Tantai Jin briefly asserted that Li Susu was there to save him.

The previous Devil God persisted, mocking Tantai Jin's hesitation to kill her and reminding him of all those who suffered because of him—his mother, his father, the maids Lan'an and Yingxin, his friend Xiao Lin, and his master Zhaoyou, whom it disrespectfully called "the grey-haired old man with a donkey." It declared them all insignificant and unworthy of Tantai Jin's regard, insisting that misfortune was their fate and Tantai Jin’s ultimate destiny was only suffering.

However, Tantai Jin's own consciousness fought back, refusing to give in. He asserted that the previous Devil God was wrong. He recalled the selfless love of his mother, the initial anticipation his father must have felt for his birth, and his father's lifelong love for his mother.

He remembered Lan'an and Yingxin protecting and raising him, Xiao Lin remaining a true friend despite being a political adversary, and his master, Immortal Zhaoyou, rescuing him from the Ruo River and patiently teaching him, granting him a new life. Most importantly, he acknowledged Li Susu for risking her life to pull him from hell, teaching him how to love and feel, and repeatedly bringing light into his darkness.

He realized that while the love he received might not have been abundant, it was far from nonexistent. He concluded that it was the previous Devil God, not him, who was consumed by self-pity and the desire to destroy everything. The previous Devil God, seeing Tantai Jin’s unwavering resolve, mocked him for clinging to mortal emotions despite reaching the pinnacle of power and resolved to forcibly integrate Tantai Jin’s essence to become the one true Devil God.

During this intense internal struggle, demonic energy surged throughout the Demon Palace, making even distant observers gasp for air, sensing the Devil God's imminent full emergence. The previous Devil God tried to absorb Tantai Jin, claiming their destinies were intertwined, but Tantai Jin countered, asserting that having experienced three lives—human, god, and demon—he was not trapped by past karma like the previous Devil God.

He declared that only one Devil God could exist in this world, and that Devil God was now him. With newfound authority, Tantai Jin seized full control, becoming the sole and true Devil God. The lingering echo of the previous Devil God conceded, acknowledging Tantai Jin as the one and only Devil God. Now fully the Devil God, Tantai Jin understood the ultimate truth: only a true god could eliminate the Devil God.

He realized the only path forward was for Li Susu, the last of the Phoenix Clan, to cultivate the Heartless Way, a shortcut to becoming a god. This would empower her to destroy him, and in doing so, end the "Tongbei Dao". To set his plan in motion, Tantai Jin commanded his demon subjects to announce to the four continents that in three days, he would marry the pure Lady of Spirituality from Mount Changze.

He further declared that the gates of the Demon Realm would be opened for all immortal sects wishing to attend and offer congratulations. Meanwhile, Gongye Jiwu and other immortal sect disciples were enraged by Tantai Jin's audacious marriage announcement, seeing it as a blatant humiliation to the Hengyang Sect and the entire immortal world.

They resolved to use the open demon gates as an opportunity to join forces and kill the Devil God, urging Gongye Jiwu to lead them, especially after the murder of many immortal elders. Feeling his current strength was insufficient to face Tantai Jin alone, Gongye Jiwu contemplated using the sealing power of the Demon-Sealing Cliff. He recalled his master's warning against succumbing to demonic power, which could corrupt one's mind and turn them into a demon's puppet.

However, driven by a fierce hatred for Tantai Jin and a desire to die alongside him if necessary, Gongye Jiwu disregarded the warning. He sought assistance from an illusion of Pang Yizhi, who presented him with the long-lost Celestial Punishment Great Array, a formidable formation used in the ancient war of celestial pillars to gravely wound the Devil God.

Gongye Jiwu then gathered the immortal sects, convincing them that despite the array's difficult requirements, he possessed a method to activate it if they united. He called for volunteers to practice and prepare to march into the Demon Realm the following day for a decisive battle against the Devil God. Before his wedding, Tantai Jin used his newfound power to fulfill an old promise to Nian Baiyu, unsealing the Yiyue Tribe and freeing them from their ancient prison.

Shortly after, Li Susu awoke, horrified to learn she was to become the Devil God’s wife the next day. She declared it an eternal shame to marry such a treacherous demon and would rather die. Tantai Jin, now omnipresent, informed her that her freedom was gone. He then granted her a final wish, taking her to the Mohe River.

There, he philosophized about the fleeting nature of love, citing Ming Ye and Sang Jiu's love as tiny amidst the grand war of gods and demons, and easily forgotten without the Bo're Life. He proclaimed that he was different; he would reach the absolute peak, and she would remain by his side.

Li Susu vehemently countered that he was unworthy to judge Ming Ye’s profound love, as Ming Ye, the God of War, had always been righteous to heaven, earth, and all living beings, unlike Tantai Jin’s greed and indifference to life. Indifferent to her protests, Tantai Jin decided to show her one more thing, creating a Bo're Life dream where he recreated the Ye Mansion from Shengdu, exactly as it was five centuries ago.

He mused about the impermanence of love and hatred, questioning how their story would be remembered if all emotions and bodies vanished. Li Susu observed that for their past selves (Ye Xiwu and Tantai Jin), their current Devil God and Li Susu identities were already "others." Stepping into the vivid dream, Li Susu was greeted by a loving family—her kind elder brother Ye Zeyu, younger brother Ye Qingyu, grandmother, and father.

Tantai Jin, in this dream, was merely Ye Xiwu's devoted husband. He asked her how she liked this dream where he was just her husband, free from evil bones and demonic power. Li Susu expressed surprise that the Devil God would cling to such worldly happiness, but Tantai Jin retorted that she couldn't know the Devil God's preferences.

They reminisced about past moments, including a New Year's Eve where Li Susu (as Ye Xiwu) wished he wouldn't become the Devil God and taught him to draw a Sketch talisman. She had hoped he would cultivate a heart free of evil intentions, acknowledging its difficulty but sincerely wishing for his success. As the dream faded, Li Susu asked Tantai Jin if there was truly no turning back for him.

He affirmed that they had reached a point of no return. Accepting his words, Li Susu decided that this night would be her farewell to him. Emulating Sang Jiu's parting words to Ming Ye in the Bo're Life dream, she told him he still owed her something—their long-overdue wedding night. They shared an intimate night.

Afterward, Tantai Jin silently reflected on the cruel actions he was about to take, hoping that the dream he had preserved in a pearl would serve as a lasting memory for Li Susu once everything was over. As dawn approached, marking the day of the wedding, Tantai Jin took a tearful Li Susu from the memory barrier. She noted the consistent winter setting in all their memories, a symbolic reflection of their journey.

Tantai Jin, however, urged her to leave her sorrows behind, as the wedding hour was fast approaching. With Tantai Jin planning to fully open the demon gates for the wedding, Gongye Jiwu intensified his final preparations, rallying all willing immortal sects to unite and activate the Celestial Punishment Great Array, ready for a desperate battle against the Devil God at the wedding ceremony. Tantai Jin then led Li Susu towards the Demon Realm for their wedding.
