Glory of Special Forces Episode 15 Recap
> Glory of Special Forces Recap
During the ongoing selection, Yan Poyue, Xiao Yun Jie, and Zhang Tian Yang formed a team, demonstrating excellent coordination. With 47 hours remaining until the selection concluded, Yan Poyue suggested a strategy not to engage in continuous combat, noting that doing so would deplete their chances of survival. Instead, they opted to temporarily lower their weapons and take turns resting, allowing other groups to fight among themselves while they reaped the benefits.
Although Xiao Yun Jie felt this approach was a bit cowardly, he and Zhang Tian Yang, their squad leader, agreed to it. Zhang Tian Yang then instructed Xiao Yun Jie to rest, with Yan Poyue taking the first watch. In the observation room, Lv Tu observed Yan Poyue's group resting and expressed his disapproval, calling them "cowards" who were "fishing in troubled waters" (taking advantage of the chaos). He ordered supplies to be dropped near their location.
However, the three did not rush to claim the supplies, anticipating that other participants would soon arrive, believing it better to wait until the last moment. To their surprise, it was Xiao Fei's group, including Hua Ping and Zhou Zi Jian, who managed to secure the supplies and even acquired a vehicle. Since both groups hailed from the same regiment, Xiao Fei proposed a temporary truce, suggesting they save their confrontation for the final round.
Meanwhile, Leng Jing inquired about her recommended participant. Qin Feng advised her not to be overly confident, revealing he had "thrown in a big fish" this time. Lv Tu mistakenly thought Qin Feng was referring to Yan Poyue, which Qin Feng dismissed with disdain, stating that Yan Poyue's arrogance and self-importance made him unworthy. Soon, Qin Feng's "big fish" made his appearance. Bai Long silently eliminated three participants, a display of skill that filled Qin Feng with pride.
Qin Feng explained that Bai Long, a former member of the Cheetah Commando, renowned as the "divine dragon," did not need to compete but was merely going through the motions. Bai Long had joined the army in 2008 but was discharged in 2015 when his mother was terminally ill, staying with her until her passing. He was now re-enlisting for the second time.
Despite receiving approval for direct re-entry, Bai Long, described as having a "one-track mind," insisted on undergoing a full re-assessment to ensure fairness, believing his physical and tactical skills needed re-evaluation after years away from the military. Lv Tu worried that Bai Long's extensive combat experience would make the selection unfair to other participants, but Qin Feng retorted that anyone unlucky enough to encounter Bai Long could only blame themselves. The selection continued.
Yan Poyue, Zhang Tian Yang, and Xiao Yun Jie encountered an enemy group and quickly jumped out of a window to find cover. Soon, a building caught fire, which Yan Poyue deduced was man-made, noting that the rules did not prohibit arson. The sudden appearance of a sniper startled everyone, prompting them to quickly take defensive positions. Yan Poyue's group decided not to engage the sniper immediately, as there were still two days left in the trial.
This sniper was Leng Jing’s recommendation. Although the sniper did not have an observer, Leng Jing remained confident, revealing that in her unit, the sniper's call sign was "Lone Wolf." Xiao Fei’s group later located Lone Wolf and attempted to form an alliance.
Xiao Fei expressed admiration for Lone Wolf's sharpshooting skills and proposed that Lone Wolf handle long-distance shooting while his three-person team provided "escort and protection" and secured supplies, especially since Lone Wolf's current supplies and ammunition seemed low. However, Lone Wolf remained silent and left without agreeing to the proposal.
Annoyed by the rejection and realizing they had been tricked by Lone Wolf (who they believed might have set traps), Xiao Fei's team decided it was best if Lone Wolf didn't ally with anyone. As night approached, they opted to retreat to their car, considering it the safest place. Zhang Tian Yang's leg was injured.
Nevertheless, after detecting an ambush in a nearby independent building, he decided they must attack, explaining that they couldn't spend the night without securing shelter before darkness fell and that a night raid would be too risky. Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie, though concerned about his injury, agreed to give their full effort. Observing eliminated soldiers receiving food on their transport vehicles, Xiao Yun Jie’s stomach grumbled. Yan Poyue also noticed the vehicles and suggested a plan.
Zhang Tian Yang confirmed that the rules did not explicitly forbid such an action, but stated they could only take food, not the vehicle itself. Yan Poyue initially offered for him and Xiao Yun Jie to go alone so Zhang Tian Yang could rest, but Zhang Tian Yang insisted on joining. They then ambushed the driver, but to their dismay, the vehicle contained nothing but two bottles of water.
Yan Poyue then decided they would hijack the vehicle to find food, a decision Zhang Tian Yang ultimately conceded to. In the command center, Leng Jing asked Qin Feng if hijacking a vehicle constituted a violation. Qin Feng clarified that the purpose of the assessment was "survival and confrontation," and as Yan Poyue’s group remained within the assessment area and the vehicle was within the exercise's scope, they were not violating any rules.
Lv Tu, however, commented that they were "using a loophole" and displaying "small cleverness," to which Qin Feng retorted that "small cleverness" depends on how it's used and found it quite effective. Yan Poyue's group used the stolen car as cover to grab a newly dropped supply. Xiao Fei’s group also spotted the same supply, leading to a confrontation. Xiao Fei's group, attempting a trick, tried to use a captured participant, Lao Qiao, as "bait" near the supply.
However, Yan Poyue's group recognized the ploy, and Yan Poyue warned his team to get to cover immediately, identifying the supply as a bait. A tense standoff ensued. Xiao Fei’s group appealed to their shared regiment background, but Yan Poyue's group firmly stated, "Only the fittest survives and the winner takes it all," declaring they had arrived first and deserved the supplies. Xiao Fei's group, refusing to back down, demanded the supplies.
