Snow Eagle Lord Recap
Episode 1 Recap
I was born in Snow Stone Fort, and from a young age, my mother told me stories of our ancestors. My father explained that it was because of their guardianship that the people of the Dragon Mountain Empire enjoyed peace. My father, Dongbo Lie, governed our Xueying Territory well. My mother, Moyang Yu, was a powerful mage with an Ancient Bloodline who had left her family to escape an arranged marriage.
She and my father settled in Qinghe Prefecture, where they had two sons: myself, Dongbo Xueying, and my younger brother, Dongbo Qingshi. By the age of eight, I was old enough to join the hunts with Uncle Zong Ling and Uncle Tong San. However, my kind heart led me to prevent them from harming a wild deer, much to their frustration. During the joyous Reunion Festival, I secretly brought home a wolf cub I had found.
When my father discovered it, he took me up the mountain to return the cub to its parent, the Silver Moon Wolf King. From this, he taught me that true love stems from protection and that safeguarding the weak is the path to self-fulfillment. That night, my brother and I sat on the roof, and I told him stories of how ordinary people could become great Transcendent heroes.
I explained the cultivation ranks, starting with the Ordinary Knight levels of Human, Earth, and Heaven, which are followed by the Star Knight levels: Meteor, Silver Moon, and Title. I described how Dou Qi from the Meteor Level onwards could take a physical form, while Transcendent knights could command the power of the universe itself, rendering them immune to conventional weapons.
I told Qingshi that our parents were both at the Meteor Level, a feat few in the Dragon Mountain Empire had achieved. As I spoke, the magic crystal lamp in our home, controlled by my mage mother, automatically extinguished, signaling it was time for bed. Shortly after we returned to our room, a terrifying screech tore through the night, putting the entire fort on high alert.
While my mother rushed to check on us, my father led the soldiers to defend against a massive four-winged vulture circling above. A gray-robed man and a silver-armored warrior led the assault. The armored man unleashed a devastating torrent of lightning, striking down dozens of our soldiers in an instant. Sensing the immense danger, my mother gave me her treasured storage pendant, urging me to keep it safe and explaining it could hold all my future treasures.
The gray-robed man revealed himself to be Mo Yangchen, my mother's older brother. He was a Silver Moon Level mage who had spent years hunting her down to punish her for eloping and disgracing their family. My mother accused him of having ulterior motives, but he dismissed her, noting that her Ancient Bloodline power had been nearly exhausted in a great battle years prior.
Dongbo Lie and Zong Ling fought fiercely to protect her, but they were no match for Mo Yangchen's power. In the struggle, my father was killed. Faced with the threat against her sons, my mother tearfully agreed to go with her brother, but only if he spared everyone in Xueying Territory. After extracting a promise from me to look after Qingshi, she was taken away.
In the ten years that followed, Zong Ling and Tong San loyally protected us and managed the territory. I dedicated every moment to mastering the spear, practicing the Mind-Intention Spear technique thousands of times a day. Despite developing immense power through sheer practice, I still hadn't cultivated Dou Qi, and I grew frustrated by my weakness compared to Mo Yangchen.
I pursued every rumor about my mother, knowing that only the Dragon Mountain Mansion could provide real answers, but they required a Black Iron Order to grant any request. Meanwhile, the empire was plagued by attacks from ferocious demons, with some rumors even comparing their strength to Transcendent knights. At the Dragon Mountain Mansion, Lord Si An discussed the threat with his subordinate, You Tu. Si An dismissed the Transcendent comparison but acknowledged the demons' power.
They reviewed the empire's major powers: the Water Daoist Temple led by the powerful Sikong Yang; the Black White Deity Mountain under the formation expert Master He; the Temple of the Earth God led by Master Xi Yun; the sisters Bu Xiaoxi and Bu Chunyuan of Fog City; the distant Sea God Palace with Master Tai Shu; and the solitary Ye Mei of the Bloodshed Tavern.
Si An suspected the Demon God Association was behind the attacks, a remnant from the war twenty years ago when the Great Demon God Da Er Hao was sealed. He instructed You Tu that the Mansion's role was intelligence gathering, so they would observe for now. After breaking countless spears in training, I went to the city with Zong Ling to buy a new one.
There, a rusted, old spear caught my eye, and I felt an inexplicable connection to it. Despite my uncles' skepticism, I bought the "scrap metal" and named it the Flying Snow Spear. Soon after, demons attacked our territory. As I fought them with my new weapon, it revealed its true, powerful form. However, the demons were too numerous, and I was overwhelmed.
Just in time, a Transcendent knight arrived, moving with impossible speed using the True Meaning of Space, a skill only Transcendent masters possess. He introduced himself as Chi Qiubai, the Knight Changfeng. He saved me and, noting my lack of Dou Qi, transmitted some of his own into me to help stimulate my own potential.
Chi Qiubai reported the demon presence to the other masters, proposing an investigation into the treacherous Destruction Mountain Range, a haven for criminals and beasts, believing it was connected to the demons. The other masters, including Sikong Yang and Tai Shu, agreed. They tasked Chi Qiubai with leading the investigation while the Dragon Mountain Mansion issued a reward for crucial information: a Black Iron Order. When Qingshi told me the news, I was ecstatic.
This was my chance to find our mother. Overruling his desperate pleas not to risk my life, I resolved to go. Zong Ling decided to accompany me, leaving Tong San to protect Qingshi and our home. Deep in the Destruction Mountain Range, Ge Bin, the ruthless leader of the Bent Blade Union, lamented his fate. Once a feared criminal, he was now a pawn of the Demon Clan.
The Demon Clan's High Priest berated him for letting some demons escape into the city and ordered him to eliminate any investigators or face annihilation. Ge Bin sent his forces to attack Zong Ling and me as we entered the mountains. We fought off the demonized humans, identifying a flute player as their controller. As we moved to capture him, Ge Bin himself appeared, boasting of his reputation and unleashing his Meteor Level Dou Qi.
The fight was intense, but just as he pressed his attack, a woman descended from the sky. She engaged Ge Bin with fluid, powerful movements, wielding spiritual power like a mage—just like my mother. Her strength was clearly at least at the Meteor Level.
Episode 2 Recap
Yu Jingqiu, a disciple of the Water Daoist Temple skilled in ice spells, saves Dongbo Xueying in the Destruction Mountain Range. They evade their pursuers, but the cunning Ge Bin notices the unnatural cleanliness of their vanishing trail, suspects a spell was used, and orders his forces to split up and conduct a thorough search. Meanwhile, Changfeng Knight Chi Qiubai finds the severely injured Zong Ling.
Zong Ling explains that Ge Bin is aided by a gray-robed mage with bizarre techniques. He only survived the attack because, as a snake-person, his internal organs differ from a human's. Deeply concerned for Xueying's safety, Zong Ling is treated by Chi Qiubai, who promises to help find the young lord. Hiding in a cave, Xueying impresses Jingqiu by catching and grilling fish, relying solely on his physical strength and solid spear techniques without any Dou Qi.
She observes his surprisingly fast recovery and notes that with Dou Qi, he might be a match for Ge Bin. They discuss his quest for the Black Iron Order; Xueying clarifies he seeks it not for the bounty but because he refuses to stand by while the Demon Clan harms civilians. Jingqiu points out that without Dou Qi, his heroic ambitions are difficult to achieve. Their hiding spot is discovered by Ge Bin.
Forced to flee, Jingqiu casts a Waterproof Spell and pulls Xueying into a nearby pool. Frustrated, Ge Bin assumes they are doomed, as the pool is imbued with a spiritual liquid that turns people into demons, and it is also where demons emerge from. He reports their supposed deaths to the gray-robed mage, who is revealed to be the Second Priest of the Demon God Association.
The priest orders Ge Bin to retrieve the Ocean Realm Stone from the water and then evacuate the mountain with him. Ge Bin reluctantly agrees after the priest threatens to turn him and his men into demons if he disobeys. Underwater, Xueying and Jingqiu discover a cave containing the Ocean Realm Stone. However, Jingqiu is poisoned by its demonic energy, which weakens her and hinders her ability to cast spells.
As they try to escape the cave, they are surrounded by a massive number of emerging demons. Just as they are cornered, Chi Qiubai arrives, driving the demons back. He tries to capture Ge Bin, but the Second Priest intervenes, grabbing Ge Bin and escaping. Safely back on land, Jingqiu reveals the Ocean Realm Stone, explaining it is a lost treasure of the Water Daoist Temple that has been corrupted by demonic poison.
Xueying holds the stone but is surprisingly unaffected by its magic. Jingqiu speculates this might be due to some unique quality he possesses. Xueying asks to borrow the stone to present as evidence to the Dragon Mountain Mansion. Jingqiu hesitates, citing temple rules, but Chi Qiubai intervenes, suggesting she accompany them to the Mansion to report the matter to her Faction Leader, Master Sikong, while also helping Xueying.
At the Dragon Mountain Mansion, Xueying, Jingqiu, and Chi Qiubai report to Si An and You Tu that the Bent Blade Union is colluding with the Demon God Association, using the demonized Ocean Realm Stone to create demons. Si An recognizes Xueying from his plea ten years prior to save his mother, Moyang Yu. Impressed by his persistence and accomplishment, Si An grants Xueying a Black Iron Order, which symbolizes Meteor-level strength and a contract with the Mansion.
However, he states the mission is only half-complete; the Mansion will only help find his mother after he captures Ge Bin and uncovers the Demon Clan's full plan. Elsewhere, Ao Lan, an elder of the Demon God Association, severely punishes Ge Bin and the Second Priest for losing the stone and failing to create enough demons. Xueying then accompanies Chi Qiubai and Jingqiu to a meeting with elders from various transcendent organizations.
Master He of Black White Deity Mountain observes Xueying, noting his unusual bone structure and that hundreds of his acupoints are sealed, preventing him from cultivating Dou Qi. The elders agree that capturing Ge Bin is a shared responsibility. Jingqiu volunteers to assist Xueying, which her master, Sikong Yang, approves as valuable experience. Master Sikong also instructs all factions to strengthen their defenses and tasks Chi Qiubai with accelerating recruitment for Changfeng Academy to prepare for the looming threat.
After the meeting, Chi Qiubai devises a plan: they will have the Dragon Mountain Mansion issue a notice proclaiming that Dongbo Xueying has taken the Ocean Realm Stone. This will provoke the disgraced Ge Bin and lure him into a trap. Following the plan, Xueying and Jingqiu return to his home, Snow Stone Fort. They are greeted enthusiastically by the citizens, his brother Dongbo Qingshi, and his mentors Zong Ling and Tong San. Xueying proudly introduces Yu Jingqiu to his people as his savior and a benefactor to the Xueying Territory.
Episode 3 Recap
At Snow Stone Fort, everyone welcomes Yu Jingqiu warmly. Having grown up in a Daoist temple, she is moved by the lively, familial atmosphere, envying the close bonds Dongbo Xueying shares with his loved ones. Later, as snow falls, Xueying tells her about an osmanthus tree his mother planted, which withered after his family’s tragedy. He kept it as a memento of his mother and the osmanthus cakes she used to make.
Touched by his story, Jingqiu uses her magic to adorn the bare tree with beautiful ice flowers, creating a stunning sight in the snow. That night, Ge Bin and his demons attack Snow Stone Fort, demanding the Ocean Realm Stone. Jingqiu, whose old injuries have not fully healed, is overpowered by the demonized Ge Bin. During the fight, she is struck by confusing flashes of childhood memories.
Seeing Jingqiu gravely injured and unconscious triggers an explosive surge in Dongbo Xueying’s Dou Qi. His power bypasses the three Mortal Knight stages, elevating him directly to a Star-level Meteor Knight. With his newfound power, Xueying effortlessly defeats the demons. He pierces Ge Bin's shoulder with his spear, pinning the stunned bandit leader to a mountain wall. " Bent Blade" Ge Bin, the most feared bandit in Yishui City, is captured by the eighteen-year-old lord.
After ensuring Jingqiu is cared for, Xueying takes Ge Bin to Dragon Mountain Mansion and learns his mother's location from Lord Si An. His uncle, Moyang Chen, did not return his sister Moyang Yu to the family but instead imprisoned her in his private cultivation palace at Leichao Sea Cliff—a magically perilous location protected by a powerful barrier. Aware of the extreme danger, Xueying conceals the truth from his family.
Zong Ling brings him medicine, reporting that Jingqiu is stable but drifts in and out of consciousness. That night, after a quiet glance at the sleeping Jingqiu, Xueying leaves Snow Stone Fort alone. Meanwhile, a wealthy merchant named Kong Hai, once a close friend of Xueying's father, reconsiders a broken promise. After the Dongbo family's fall, Kong Hai had abandoned them and unilaterally broke off the engagement between his daughter, Kong Youyue, and Xueying.
Now, hearing of Xueying’s new power and status, he decides the match is advantageous again and prepares to visit with his daughter. On her way back to the city through Lengqiong Mountain, Kong Youyue's convoy is attacked by bandits. Dongbo Xueying, en route to Leichao Sea Cliff, arrives just in time to save her. He departs quickly after ensuring she is safe, leaving Youyue smitten with her unknown rescuer.
Back at Snow Stone Fort, Zong Ling finds Xueying's room empty and, upon seeing a map, realizes he has gone to Leichao Sea Cliff alone. At the heavily guarded Leichao Sea Cliff, Xueying uses his enhanced strength to fight his way through the defenses. He struggles to break the formation around his mother's prison, and his Flying Snow Spear shatters in the attempt. However, the spear magically regenerates, becoming even more powerful.
Channeling all his strength, Xueying finally breaks the barrier and reunites with his mother, Moyang Yu. Their reunion is cut short by the arrival of Moyang Chen, who easily injures Xueying. To save her son, Moyang Yu uses the last of her Ancient Bloodline power to teleport him to safety. She then furiously confronts her brother, condemning him for colluding with the Demon Clan and causing the death of Xueying's father.
Soon after, Yu Jingqiu recovers and goes to Dragon Mountain Mansion to learn what Ge Bin has revealed under interrogation. Ge Bin confesses that a gray-robed elder, an informant for the Demon God Association, gives him orders. He claims ignorance of the Demon Clan's ultimate plan but explains the Ocean Realm Stone was given to him by the elder, already demonized with a poison that transforms those who touch it. When asked by Jingqiu, he also mentions seeing something strange related to Xueying’s parents during their battle.
Episode 4 Recap
During a confrontation at Snow Stone Fort, Yu Jingqiu experienced strange visions that seemed connected to her parents. She questioned the captured Ge Bin, but he denied knowing anything about her past. Later, the elders of the Water Daoist Temple debated Ge Bin's fate. While some demanded his execution, Yu Jingqiu argued he could be used as bait to lure out the Demon Clan, particularly the "Gray Robe" Ge Bin had mentioned.
The plan was approved, and Chi Qiubai was assigned to escort Ge Bin to the Water Daoist Temple for safekeeping, with Yu Jingqiu joining the mission. Concerned about the Demon Clan's growing threat, Chi Qiubai traveled to Fog City to check on his beloved, Bu Xiaoxi. He found that she and her sister, Bu Chunyuan, had already reinforced the city's defenses.
Bu Xiaoxi assured him that Fog City's natural geography and their strengthened fortifications made it secure, a defense further enhanced by their "Double Fans" combined martial arts technique. Chi Qiubai praised their diligence, stressing the importance of protecting the Forbidden Zone of Source Stones from the cunning Demon Clan. The couple reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the city and each other.
At the Water Daoist Temple, Yu Jingqiu confided in her master, Sikong Yang, about the fragmented childhood memories she'd been having. She could recall being a child crying for her parents but was unable to see their faces. Sikong Yang attempted to investigate and discovered her memories had been sealed by an extremely powerful expert, warning that forcibly breaking the seal would be life-threatening.
Yu Jingqiu accepted her situation, expressing deep gratitude to her master and the temple for giving her a home and a family. Elsewhere, Kong Hai was frustrated with his two children. His son and heir, Kong Hao, ignored the family business, preferring martial arts and weapons. His daughter, Kong Youyue, was a talented businesswoman, but Kong Hai believed she should marry and settle down.
He revealed he had arranged a marriage for her with the son of a long-standing family friend. Dismayed, as she was secretly fond of Dongbo Xueying, whom she had met once, Kong Youyue and her brother openly defied their father's traditional plans. At Snow Stone Fort, Dongbo Xueying recovered from his injuries under the care of Zong Ling and Tong San.
Troubled and driven, he practiced his spear techniques relentlessly in the snow, fueled by the memory of his mother's plea for him to live well and not attempt another rescue. He silently vowed he would save her one day. Zong Ling advised him that advancing his spear skills required stable Dou Qi, which could only be achieved with proper guidance.
Recalling Chi Qiubai's offer, Dongbo Xueying decided to enroll in Changfeng Academy to accelerate his training, a decision Zong Ling supported. Soon after, Kong Hai arrived at Snow Stone Fort with Kong Youyue. Tong San, still bitter about Kong Hai's past indifference, gave them a cold reception. Mistaking Dongbo Qingshi for her betrothed, Kong Youyue faked a contagious skin disease to sabotage the arrangement. The ruse ended when Dongbo Xueying appeared, much to her surprise and delight.
Kong Hai presented Dongbo Xueying with a high-quality source stone to aid his recovery before raising the topic of the arranged marriage. Dongbo Xueying politely but firmly declined, stating that his sole focus was cultivation and that he had no interest in marriage, urging Kong Hai to find a better match for his daughter. When Kong Hai suggested Youyue stay to get acquainted, Xueying thwarted the plan by announcing his immediate departure for Changfeng Academy.
After leaving the fort, Dongbo Xueying visited Dragon Mountain Mansion to ask Lord Si An about Ge Bin. Si An informed him that Ge Bin had not confessed and had been escorted away by Chi Qiubai about an hour earlier.
As Xueying left, Si An remarked to a subordinate on Xueying's remarkable abilities—his sudden acquisition of Dou Qi, his immunity to the demonized Ocean Realm Stone, and his lineage as Moyang Yu's son—speculating that he might possess an Ancient Bloodline and would surely thrive at Changfeng Academy. Meanwhile, the escort party with Ge Bin was ambushed. After hearing a strange noise, Chi Qiubai went to investigate.
A black-clad assailant attacked, and Dongbo Xueying arrived just in time to help Yu Jingqiu fight back. The attacker escaped, leaving Ge Bin near death. Chi Qiubai returned, identifying the noise as a trap set by an Imposter Bug. Xiuran, one of the escorting disciples, immediately accused Dongbo Xueying of collaborating with the attacker. Despite Yu Jingqiu's defense, Xiuran remained insistent.
Chi Qiubai ordered a return to the Water Daoist Temple, and Xiuran demanded Dongbo Xueying come along to be interrogated. At the temple, Dongbo Xueying reiterated his desire to join Changfeng Academy, but Xiuran continued to question his character. Seizing the opportunity, Xueying suggested the ambush proved there was a spy within the temple and offered to expose them.
He produced a packet of powder, falsely claiming it was a poison that would kill anyone who had touched the stolen Ocean Realm Stone and that Sikong Yang had asked him to use it. As he demonstrated, Xiuran panicked, claiming his neck was burning and decaying. Realizing he was exposed, Xiuran committed suicide.
Another disciple, Muyu, confessed he knew Xiuran was a spy, forced to serve the Demon Clan under a Deadly Vow, and had kept his secret out of loyalty. Dongbo Xueying then revealed the "poison" was merely chili powder. Sikong Yang ordered Muyu imprisoned for his complicity, and Xueying told Yu Jingqiu he had another idea to uncover the Demon Clan's plans.
Concurrently, Dongbo Qingshi used his brother's Black Iron Order to enter Dragon Mountain Mansion, demanding Lord Si An reveal their mother's location. Si An admonished him for his weakness, stating a rescue attempt would be suicide, and gave him a portrait, telling him to seek his "opportunity" outside. In the city, Qingshi encountered a young woman, Ji Rong, and her master, Bai Yuanzhi. As Bai Yuanzhi approached, the portrait in Qingshi's hand vanished.
Convinced this was his destiny, Qingshi knelt and begged Bai Yuanzhi to accept him as a disciple. Bai Yuanzhi refused and left, but Qingshi followed him and continued to kneel outside his courtyard, vowing not to rise until he was accepted.
Episode 5 Recap
DongBo Xueying proposed a clever plan, which was approved by Chi Qiubai and the other elders. To enact it, DongBo Xueying disguised himself as a demon operative and orchestrated Ge Bin's escape from the Prison for Mortals. They theorized that upon learning the Demon Clan's mole at the Water Daoist Temple was dead, a panicked Ge Bin would try to contact his superiors to redeem himself.
By tailing him, they could capture his contact and uncover more leads on the Demon God Association. Impressed, Sikong Yang noted DongBo Xueying's intelligence and potential, hoping Chi Qiubai would mentor him at the newly established Changfeng Academy, shaping him into a future asset for the Dragon Mountain Empire. Meanwhile, DongBo Qingshi remained kneeling outside Bai Yuanzhi's residence, determined to be accepted as a disciple.
Ji Rong brought him food and suggested he loudly recite cultivation texts, hoping the disturbance would force Bai Yuanzhi to relent. The tactic worked; annoyed by the noise, Bai Yuanzhi instructed Qingshi to rest for the night. While not a formal acceptance, it was a sign of acknowledgment that greatly encouraged Qingshi. DongBo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, and Chi Qiubai secretly followed Ge Bin, observing him leave markings at various locations as apparent signals to the Demon Clan.
During their surveillance, DongBo Xueying ran into Kong Youyue at a weapon shop. She explained that ever since hearing he was going to Changfeng Academy, she had been practicing diligently, hoping to one day be skilled enough to join him there. Before their plan could fully unfold, the Gray Robe ambushed and killed Ge Bin to silence him. In the ensuing clash with Chi Qiubai, the Gray Robe dropped a distinctive gold coin.
Recognizing it as currency exclusive to the Bloodshed Tavern, the elders immediately suspected its owner, Ye Mei, of colluding with demons. Some were quick to condemn her, citing the tavern's mercenary reputation and her reclusive behavior following the incident with the Bloodshed God Emperor. However, Sikong Yang urged caution, reminding them of her past heroism in sealing the Demon God's body.
Given the serious implications, Sikong Yang decided he, Chi Qiubai, DongBo Xueying, and Yu Jingqiu would visit the tavern the next day to investigate. Elsewhere, the demon leader Ao Lan, considering his force of converted humans to be expendable, ordered the Gray Robe to use them for one final purpose.
He was to lead them in an attack on the sealed Demon Well in Nanqin, not to break the seal, but to create a disturbance large enough for Abyss Demons to slip through and sow chaos among the human factions. In Nanqin, the guards Situ Hong and Si Borong were on duty at the well. Believing the ancient threats were gone, Si Borong grew complacent and began drinking with the soldiers, ignoring Situ Hong's warnings.
That night, the demon attack commenced as planned. The assault created a crack in the well's seal. Although their aunt, Si Lianghong, arrived with reinforcements and managed to repair the breach, several Abyss Demons escaped into the Dragon Mountain Empire. The Gray Robe, injured in the fighting, fled the scene. For this failure, the council penalized the Si Family; Si Lianghong was sentenced to permanently guard the Demon Well as penance.
Situ Hong and Si Borong were outraged by what they saw as an unjust punishment for their family. Si Lianghong, however, accepted her fate and urged her nephews to seek strength at Changfeng Academy, telling them that true power is the only way to earn a voice and bring honor to their family.
In a subsequent council meeting, Xi Yun of the Temple of the Earth God called for unity despite the Si Family's mistake, but others remained focused on the failure. The group reaffirmed their plan to investigate the Bloodshed Tavern. The injured Gray Robe went to the Bloodshed Tavern for medicine. There, the staff identified him to Ye Mei as the assassin Xiang Pangyun. Aware of his injuries and their cause, Ye Mei provided him aid, prioritizing the tavern's business interests.
Soon after, Sikong Yang's group arrived and confronted her, presenting the gold coin as evidence and demanding to see her assassins. Ye Mei refused, citing the tavern's rules. As the elders engaged her in a tense confrontation, DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu searched for Xiang Pangyun. They found a room with signs of his presence, but Ye Mei intervened, subtly using her foot to cover a drop of blood on the floor and preventing them from finding definitive proof.
With no concrete evidence, Sikong Yang de-escalated the situation, and the group left. Afterward, Ye Mei warned Xiang Pangyun that his identity was becoming a liability. He promised to leave within two days and privately vowed to personally kill DongBo Xueying for repeatedly foiling his plans. In the following days, DongBo Qingshi began his training under Bai Yuanzhi, who tasked him with cleaning the courtyard with a special broom as a form of practice.
Chi Qiubai visited Bu Xiaoxi, expressing his hope that Changfeng Academy would cultivate not only powerful but also righteous individuals to protect the empire. Meanwhile, Yu Jingqiu grew frustrated with her lack of progress in her own training. DongBo Xueying comforted her, recalling his mother's teaching that every Transcendent's path is unique and that true breakthroughs come from one's own comprehension of the world, not just imitation. The conversation turned to their personal losses—his quest to save his mother and her search for her own parents—strengthening their bond as they both prepared for the academy's entrance exam.
Episode 6 Recap
Pu Yangbo attempted to fly using his invention, the Flying Sticker, but it failed, causing him to fall. His attendant noted this was his 215th failed attempt and suggested seeking guidance from an expert, an idea Pu Yangbo found intriguing. Meanwhile, Kong Youyue informed her brother, Kong Hao, that she was going to enroll in Changfeng Academy for cultivation. She admitted to having told their father she was going there to find him a good son-in-law.
Initially surprised, Kong Hao became excited upon learning that the renowned Knight Changfeng, Chi Qiubai, personally taught there, and he decided to join her. Upon arriving near Changfeng Academy, Kong Hao rushed ahead, but Kong Youyue, realizing she wasn't wearing an attractive hairpin, decided to visit the nearby market first. She instructed Kong Hao to notify her immediately if Dongbo Xueying arrived.
At the market, Kong Youyue noticed a little girl who wanted a toy duck but whose mother couldn't afford it. The vendor's stall operated on a riddle system: for 100 coins, a customer could answer a question to win a prize. Kong Youyue paid and correctly solved the math riddle, calculating that there were 25 big monks and 75 small monks. When the vendor tried to give her a different, less desirable prize, Pu Yangbo intervened.
Using a swift technique, he snatched the correct duck and handed it to Kong Youyue, telling the vendor to honor his word. Pu Yangbo explained his speed came from his mother constantly telling him to run when his father tried to hit him as a child. As Kong Youyue thanked him, she discovered her hairpin was missing.
She asked Pu Yangbo to use his speed to help her find it, but he declined, stating he was in a hurry for the Changfeng Academy exam. Learning they were both headed to the same place, they decided to go together. Near the academy entrance, they met Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu. Kong Youyue recognized Dongbo Xueying, and Pu Yangbo realized he was the famous warrior as well.
Yu Jingqiu urged them all to hurry, as the exam was about to begin. The Changfeng Academy exam started with a test described by Ms. Tanshi as simply passing from "this door" to "that door," with the challenge being to find the latter. An impatient candidate rushed through the first door only to find himself stuck in the same spot. Pu Yangbo attempted to use his Flying Sticker to bypass the passage, but it also failed, causing him to fall.
A candidate who revealed he had been taking the exam for 38 years warned that the passage was not simple and that the real challenge was to overcome one's own weaknesses. Suddenly, the candidates were drawn into illusions born from their inner demons. Pu Yangbo dreamed of his Flying Sticker finally working, while Kong Hao found himself indulging in a feast of delicious food.
Kong Youyue saw herself managing her family's account books—a task her father never allowed—before realizing it was a dream and that her true inner demon was her mother's capture. Situ Hong saw himself being admonished by his family to cultivate diligently. Some candidates were eliminated after physically acting out their illusions. Dongbo Xueying was the first to break free, recognizing the illusions weren't real. He quickly roused Yu Jingqiu, and together they helped wake the others.
After they overcame the illusions, characters began to appear in the passage. Yu Jingqiu identified symbols like Qian, Kun, Li, and Gen as directional positions, deducing that defeating the nightmares revealed new clues. She believed that understanding the pattern of these characters could break the formation.
Dongbo Xueying observed that while the characters moved chaotically, they consistently formed the shape of the Big Dipper in the center, and that the sum and difference of their horizontal and vertical lines always equaled seven. Yu Jingqiu named the stars of the Big Dipper—Dubhe, Merak, Phecda, Megrez, Alioth, Mizar, and Alkaid—and warned that Merak and Phecda were particularly unstable and dangerous to step on.
Dongbo Xueying studied the stars' positions, noting Alioth was the brightest and Megrez the dimmest, and used the Dipper's handle to orient himself. He offered to lead the way, and though Yu Jingqiu offered to try first, he insisted. Hand in hand, they carefully moved according to the pattern. Kong Youyue had also realized the solution involved the Big Dipper. By working together, all remaining candidates successfully navigated the pattern and passed the test.
Dean Chi Qiubai congratulated the successful candidates, proclaiming them the future guardians of the Dragon Mountain Empire and the Xia Clan. He urged them to cultivate diligently, remain true to themselves, and stay united. He and Ms. Tanshi then showed them to their dormitories: the Orchid & Bamboo Yard for the males and the Hundred Flowers Pavilion for the females.
Dean Chi Qiubai informed them that the small Practice Field outside was the only area they could freely access; other areas required his permission. In the male dorm, Si Borong complained about the simple living conditions, contrasting them with his luxurious home. His older brother, Situ Hong, advised him to adapt. Situ Hong introduced himself and his brother as being from the Si Mansion in Nanqin.
Pu Yangbo then awkwardly mentioned that the Si Family had recently had trouble guarding the Demon Well. Dongbo Xueying smoothed things over by complimenting the Si Family's martial arts system. After Kong Hao introduced himself and the Kong Family armory, Dongbo Xueying noticed Pu Yangbo had no luggage. Pu Yangbo explained he grew up accustomed to a carefree life and didn't need anything.
In the female dorm, Kong Youyue watched Yu Jingqiu unpack, silently wondering about her relationship with Dongbo Xueying. Suddenly, a senior disciple named Lanxin appeared in a spooky costume and startled Kong Youyue. Yu Jingqiu immediately stepped in to protect her. Other seniors explained that Lanxin had been at the academy for seven years, having repeatedly failed the assessment, and enjoyed scaring newcomers. Kong Youyue thanked Yu Jingqiu, and her opinion of her began to improve.
The next day, Dean Chi Qiubai and Ms. Tanshi began teaching the basic courses, explaining that a solid foundation was necessary before advancing to higher-level spell skills and the use of Dou Qi. They demonstrated merging crystals, showing how pink and white crystals could be combined for healing. Chi Qiubai stressed that controlling high-energy crystals was difficult and reiterated the importance of mastering the basics. Yu Jingqiu then demonstrated her skill by merging crystals to create a beautiful, vivid snowfish.
The sight made Dongbo Xueying smile, as it reminded him of the grilled fish they had shared in the cave. During practice, Si Borong slacked off and caused a disruption, leading Ms. Tanshi to punish him by making him hold a smile for three hours. Witnessing this, the other students focused diligently on their training. Later, Kong Youyue brought food she had prepared to the male dorms to give to Dongbo Xueying.
She couldn't find him and was instead surrounded by other male disciples. Si Borong eagerly tried to impress her, but Kong Hao warned him to stay away from his sister. Meanwhile, Dongbo Xueying was at the small Practice Field, sparring with Situ Hong, who advised him that the spear resides not just in the hands but in the heart. He encouraged Dongbo Xueying to let go of rigid techniques and follow his instincts to achieve "spear-man unity" and unleash the weapon's greatest power.
Episode 7 Recap
Yu Jingqiu confided that she had lost an important item but couldn't remember where or when. Dongbo Xueying comforted her, offering to help her search once she recalled the details. He also shared his own progress, mentioning he had just sparred with Situ Hong and his spear technique had advanced, which he now called the Changfeng Flying Snow Spear Technique. Yu Jingqiu acknowledged Situ Hong's skill and noted he wasn't as arrogant as he appeared.
They then agreed to go to the practice field so she could witness his new skills. Seeing them leave together, Kong Youyue, who had come to find Dongbo Xueying, decided not to approach, feeling it would be awkward. Instead, she planned to wait for Yu Jingqiu and confront her, hoping to catch her in a lie about her whereabouts.
However, when Kong Youyue questioned her, Yu Jingqiu frankly admitted to being with Dongbo Xueying at the practice field, surprising Kong Youyue with her honesty. During a class with a new instructor, Master Xiaoxi, students were asked to demonstrate their unique skills. Dongbo Xueying showcased his spear technique, while Yu Jingqiu impressed everyone by magically turning scattered petals into exquisite ice flowers. Kong Hao’s attempt to demonstrate his "Flying Seal" invention failed, drawing ridicule from classmates.
To restore her family's honor, Kong Youyue displayed her remarkable mental calculation ability, correctly calculating the falling sequence of over a thousand petals, a feat she claimed surpassed their family accountant. Master Xiaoxi explained that Kong Youyue's talent could be developed into the Inner Sight Technique, an advanced skill that allows a user to perceive an enemy's attack vectors and timing to aid teammates.
Puyang Bo then demonstrated his exceptional speed, stating his main tactic was to flee when outmatched, a practical skill that Master Xiaoxi also acknowledged as valuable. Situ Hong, however, claimed to have no unique skill and boldly challenged Master Xiaoxi to a duel to gauge the gap between them. Dongbo Xueying observed that Master Xiaoxi suppressed her Dou Qi to the Meteor Level but effortlessly handled Situ Hong using the advanced Change Mystery.
After the spar, Master Xiaoxi praised Situ Hong's solid fundamentals and encouraged him. The display of power made Dongbo Xueying more determined to train harder to save his mother. After class, Kong Youyue tried to get closer to Dongbo Xueying, offering to wash his clothes and showing concern for his well-being, but he maintained a polite distance. Dejected after seeing him practicing with Yu Jingqiu again, she sought advice from Puyang Bo.
He cheekily suggested that while Yu Jingqiu was better at fighting, Kong Youyue was better at making soup, and she could win Dongbo Xueying's affection through his stomach. Taking the advice to heart, Kong Youyue decided to cook braised ribs for him. However, as the dish cooked, Puyang Bo kept "taste-testing" it until he had eaten nearly all of it, prompting an angry chase.
Meanwhile, Kong Hao asked Situ Hong for advice on his Flying Seal, and Situ Hong pointed out that its power source was unstable. During their conversation, Kong Hao mentioned his sister's now-void arranged marriage to Dongbo Xueying, calling him a "brother-in-law," but noted that Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu seemed more like a real couple.
Si Borong overheard and complained that Dongbo Xueying was getting all the attention, suggesting Yu Jingqiu would be a better match for his brother, while he could "settle" for Kong Youyue. Situ Hong sternly rebuked him for the inappropriate remarks. Later that night, Kong Youyue used a new mind-reading seal from her brother on Dongbo Xueying.
The device, which reveals a person's thoughts as Dou Qi, showed his mind was solely occupied with his spear technique and his home, Snow Stone Fort, confirming to her dismay that she held no place in his thoughts. Elsewhere, Si Borong attempted to confess his feelings to Kong Youyue, but in the dark, he mistook Senior Lanxin for her. Upon realizing his error, he fled in embarrassment as a surprised and annoyed Lanxin chased after him.
In another class, the students learned the technique of Flying on Object. The instructor warned that controlling it in turbulent air, especially during combat, was difficult. During practice, Kong Youyue lost control and nearly collided with Yu Jingqiu, but Dongbo Xueying swiftly intervened to protect her. Shortly after, the academy was ambushed by figures disguised as demons. While most students fought back, Si Borong and Kong Hao hid.
Dongbo Xueying quickly deduced it was a drill, noting the attackers lacked demonic energy, avoided vital points, and recognized the leader’s signature Wind Blade technique as belonging to their senior, Cui Yong. Cui Yong confirmed it was a surprise exercise and praised Dongbo Xueying's perception and Situ Hong's decisive fighting. Situ Hong expressed regret for being too focused on combat to notice the signs. An announcement for the annual Dragon Mountain Empire Weapon Fair in Fragrance Ancient Town was made.
Dongbo Xueying initially declined to go, but when Yu Jingqiu mentioned she was going to search for something possibly related to her parents, he immediately changed his mind and offered to accompany her. Seeing this, Kong Youyue also decided to join, and the group set off together. In a secret location, Lu Huairu reported to a gray-robed elder that the final shipment of one hundred thousand source stones had arrived.
Swearing loyalty, Lu Huairu expressed his desire to become a true demon, not to gain power or status. The elder praised him, gave him a demon pill to prolong his life, and instructed him to execute their plan during the Weapon Fair, using the large crowds as a diversion. At the fair, Yu Jingqiu searched for her lost item in vain. Dongbo Xueying spotted suspicious figures disguised as humans and pointed them out to her.
Suspecting they were demons, they followed the figures into the mountains. During the ensuing fight, Dongbo Xueying was lured into a teleportation array and vanished. Just as a distressed Yu Jingqiu cried out, the others arrived. She explained what happened, and while Si Borong made a dismissive comment, Situ Hong silenced him and vowed to help search.
As they tried to figure out their next move, a strange piping sound echoed through the area, which Yu Jingqiu recognized with dread from her encounter in the Destruction Mountain Range.
Episode 8 Recap
Dongbo Xueying was observing demon soldiers when his presence was detected. A gray-robed elder severely injured him, and his left eye was wounded by Dou Qi, forcing him to remove it to survive. Yu Jingqiu and Situ Hong arrived in time to treat him. Through his account, they learned the Demon Clan was nearby and sent Situ Hong and Si Borong to investigate the eastern woods while Yu Jingqiu stayed to care for Dongbo Xueying.
After resting overnight, Dongbo Xueying's Dou Qi was still disturbed. He suggested they go to town for source stone essence to aid his recovery. They learned that source stones had been recently bought out in large, suspicious quantities. They tracked the cart, which was disguised with candles, and followed its trail to Lu's Fort. Kong Youyue recalled that Lu Huairu, the Fort Master, was a wealthy figure who worked exclusively with Moyang's Fort, using his own materials.
Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu decided to investigate, asking Pu Yangbo and Kong Youyue to wait outside and alert Chi Qiubai if they didn't return. However, Kong Youyue insisted on joining them. Pu Yangbo offered to go to the academy for reinforcements instead, a backup plan Dongbo Xueying approved. The trio posed as alchemists from Moyang's Fort to gain entry. Inside, Lu Huairu, assuming they were sent to demand more money, refused to see them, and they were turned away.
They then snuck in and discovered a demonic pattern matching one from the demon factory, leading them to a hidden cave. There, they overheard Lu Huairu and the gray-robed elder discussing their plan: the collected source stones were now sufficient to power the Demon Well, marking the first step of the Demon Clan's invasion.
The elder revealed the Demon God had taught him a forbidden technique and helped him escape prison, boasting that Lu's Fort was a secret Demon Clan branch. Meanwhile, Situ Hong and Si Borong were surrounded by demons in the woods. Facing overwhelming odds, Si Borong told Situ Hong he would fight and die for him, not for their family. Inside the fort, the trio was discovered. Dongbo Xueying engaged the gray-robed elder, while Yu Jingqiu fought and defeated Lu Huairu.
However, Lu Huairu sacrificed himself, allowing the elder to absorb his life force with a forbidden technique. The elder's power surged, and he transformed, overwhelming Dongbo Xueying as the fort began to collapse. Just then, Pu Yangbo reached Changfeng Academy and alerted Chi Qiubai, who rushed to the rescue. Chi Qiubai arrived as the fort fell apart, saving Dongbo Xueying. Yu Jingqiu was trapped under rubble while protecting Kong Youyue.
Dongbo Xueying went back for her, falling on top of her in the chaos. Chi Qiubai defeated the empowered elder, secured the source stones, and rescued Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu from the ruins. Back at the academy, Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu were safe. Upon returning, a furious Si Borong confronted Dongbo Xueying, accusing him of using them as a diversion. Pu Yangbo intervened, explaining that Lu's Fort was a Demon Clan branch.
Hearing Yu Jingqiu was injured, Situ Hong grew concerned. The injured gray-robed elder reported his failure to his superior, Ao Lan, who was enraged by the loss of the branch and the 100,000 source stones. Meanwhile, Chi Qiubai presented the recovered stones to the academy elders. To protect them from the Demon Clan, they decided to store the stones in the heavily guarded forbidden zone in Fog City, under the care of Bu Xiaoxi and her sister Chunyuan.
That night, Yu Jingqiu woke up, blushing at the memory of the collapse. Her room was filled with gifts, and Senior Sister Lanxin sarcastically remarked on her talent for attracting admirers, noting how Dongbo Xueying risked his life for her while Situ Hong sent expensive gifts. News of Dongbo Xueying's heroism spread. Si Borong grew resentful, feeling Situ Hong's role was overlooked.
Yu Jingqiu later praised Situ Hong, telling him that by stalling the demon reinforcements, he and Si Borong were vital to the mission's success and true heroes. Deeply moved by her words, Situ Hong's admiration for her grew, and he vowed to train harder to surpass Dongbo Xueying. Later, the gray-robed elder had to answer for his failure to the High Priest, who was angered by the delay to their grand plan and declared that death was insufficient punishment. The High Priest then mentioned a risky alternative strategy.
Episode 9 Recap
Following DongBo Xueying's return to Changfeng Academy, Kong Youyue tried to aid his recovery by preparing nourishing soups. However, DongBo Xueying could not drink them due to an ingredient, Deerhorn Glue, so Pu Yangbo consumed them instead. In contrast, when Yu Jingqiu delivered a medicinal soup, DongBo Xueying drank it gratefully, finding it palatable despite its bitterness. In the Demon Clan, the Second Priest Ao Lan reported to the High Priest about their difficulty in acquiring more source stones.
The High Priest revealed a risky plan to attack the Transcendent organization in Fog City, intending to activate spies planted within their ranks. To counter the formidable Bu sisters who guard the city, they would need ten Bloodshed Divine Weapons. Both priests pledged their loyalty to the Demon God, with the High Priest stressing that this was their final chance. Ao Lan vowed to personally kill DongBo Xueying for repeatedly thwarting their plans.
Meanwhile, the major sects reinforced their defenses, increasing their source stone reserves after learning of their importance to the demons from the Lu's Fort incident. After a Council meeting, Xiaoxi visited Chi Qiubai, bringing him clothes she had mended. During a tender moment, they reaffirmed their commitment to each other and to protecting the Dragon Mountain Empire. Later, Xiaoxi noticed someone practicing spear late at night.
Chi Qiubai identified the student as DongBo Xueying, praising his strong foundation and powerful Dou Qi. Xiaoxi remarked that DongBo Xueying's dedication reminded her of a younger Chi Qiubai, sensing his great potential. They approached DongBo Xueying and found him struggling to control his unstable Dou Qi, which was forcefully repelling him. Recognizing his potential, Xiaoxi gifted him a precious source stone to help stabilize his energy, stating its true value was in cultivating a future Transcendent for the empire.
Chi Qiubai added that Xueying's aggressive Dou Qi was incompatible with the Dark Ice Spear Technique he was practicing. He advised Xueying to use the stone to first master control of his energy, which could lead him to discover his own unique spear style. Unseen, Si Borong watched them, disdainful that Xueying had Dou Qi he couldn't even control.
Later, Si Borong complained to his cousin, Situ Hong, that DongBo Xueying was receiving special treatment, citing the private guidance and the gift of a source stone. He insisted the stone should have gone to Situ Hong. Though Situ Hong appeared calm, he harbored growing resentment. The next morning, Chi Qiubai publicly praised DongBo Xueying, Pu Yangbo, Yu Jingqiu, and Kong Youyue for destroying the Demon Clan's branch at Lu's Fort, holding up Xueying's dedication as an example.
Angered by the praise, Si Borong challenged the still-injured Xueying to a duel. When Xueying's friends urged him not to accept, Si Borong taunted him. Kong Youyue’s brother, Kong Hao, stepped up first for a friendly match, which Xueying easily won. Pressured by the crowd, Si Borong then faced Xueying. During their exchange, Xueying’s unstable Dou Qi caused him to strike harder than intended.
Si Borong theatrically collapsed, claiming a severe internal injury and accusing Xueying of acting like a demon by losing control of his power. Believing his cousin, Situ Hong stepped in to challenge DongBo Xueying. Xueying declined, explaining he feared his lack of control would cause further harm, which Situ Hong mistook for arrogance. The two fought, and Situ Hong, using his full strength, quickly defeated the injured and weakened Xueying.
Yu Jingqiu intervened, stopping the fight and then exposing Si Borong’s faked injury by pointing out that he was clutching the wrong side of his chest. Embarrassed, Si Borong feigned pain all over and fled. Later, Yu Jingqiu comforted DongBo Xueying, suspecting Si Borong had faked his injury. Their conversation was interrupted by Kong Youyue, who arrived with more soup.
Pu Yangbo intercepted it, and when confronted by an angry Youyue, he finally explained that Xueying's vigorous Dou Qi made such rich tonics dangerous for him, like "adding fire to fire." He revealed that Xueying had been drinking Jingqiu's milder medicinal soup for days. Kong Youyue was hurt to learn her soup had been given away while he accepted Jingqiu's. That night, Situ Hong confronted Si Borong, who admitted to faking the injury to spite DongBo Xueying.
Furious, Situ Hong berated him for his deceit, reminding him of their duty to restore their family's honor through genuine effort, not cheap tricks. After discovering the truth, Situ Hong felt remorse and wanted to apologize to Xueying, but pride stopped him. DongBo Xueying continued to practice late into the night, terrified by his inability to control his Dou Qi.
Chi Qiubai found him on the verge of a dangerous energy surge, explaining that his eagerness for success could cause his meridians to rupture. He warned Xueying against impatience and offered his guidance. Xueying resolved to stabilize his power as quickly as possible to rescue his mother. From the shadows, Situ Hong watched Chi Qiubai aiding Xueying once again.
Elsewhere, Ao Lan ordered the artificer Moyang Chen to forge ten Bloodshed Divine Weapons in ten days, threatening him with a deadly cultivation backlash upon failure. With only one Blood Spirit Stone, Moyang Chen's artificers deemed the task impossible unless they used the power of an Ancient Bloodline. Moyang Chen approached his sister, Moyang Yu, who possessed such a bloodline. She refused to help him serve the Demon Clan, so he attempted to forcibly extract her blood.
In defense, Moyang Yu unleashed her power, destroying the forge. Enraged, Moyang Chen threatened her sons, but she vowed to die with him if he harmed them. Frustrated by her defiance, he later reported his failure to Ao Lan but claimed he had found an alternative way to procure the weapons.
Episode 10 Recap
Informed of a recent failure, Mo Yangchen, the Second Priest, was pressed for a solution. A subordinate suggested that Kong's Weapon Shop, the largest in the Dragon Mountain Empire, might have Bloodshed Weapons, powerful enough to harm Transcendents. Mo Yangchen gave a three-day deadline to acquire them. He then personally visited the proprietor, Kong Hai, and after confirming their availability with a large deposit, negotiated a deal. Kong Hai demanded 200,000 gold taels per weapon.
Mo Yangchen agreed to the price but was informed that only four pieces were available, not the ten he requested. He arranged for them to be picked up later that day. Ao Lan discussed the attack plan on Fog City with the High Priest. Acknowledging the formidable Double Fan technique of the sisters who protected the city, the High Priest noted that Xiaoxi and Chi Qiubai would soon visit an orphanage.
This would leave Chunyuan alone, creating the perfect opportunity to strike. Ao Lan confirmed the four Bloodshed Weapons were ready, boasting he could amplify their power a hundredfold. Leading the assault, Ao Lan's forces quickly overwhelmed and captured the isolated Chunyuan. Meanwhile, Xiaoxi and Chi Qiubai visited the orphanage, warmly greeted by Ms. Qin and the children, including Feng and Hu. They brought gifts of candy and chestnut cakes, and Xiaoxi set some aside for Chunyuan.
After a tender farewell, Chi Qiubai planned to report to the Council about the search for the Demon Clan, while Xiaoxi intended to teach at the academy. However, upon returning to Fog City, Xiaoxi was met with a scene of devastation and death. She found Ao Lan in the Forbidden Zone of Source Stones, holding Chunyuan captive. He demanded the source stones in exchange for her sister's life.
Xiaoxi initially refused to deal with the Demon Clan but relented under duress. She claimed that only she and Chunyuan together could open the Forbidden Zone with their Double Fan technique. Ao Lan then revealed he had planted devices throughout the city that would kill all civilians if she didn't comply. As they began the process, Xiaoxi secretly told Chunyuan to flee and destroy the devices on her signal.
Pushing her sister to safety, Xiaoxi unleashed her full power, sacrificing herself to destroy the source stones and the surrounding demons in a massive explosion. In the aftermath, Ao Lan probed Xiaoxi's consciousness and discovered that a rare source stone was hidden in the Sea God Palace. Chi Qiubai arrived to find Xiaoxi mortally wounded. She told him her injuries were fatal and asked him to look after Chunyuan before dying in his arms.
Consumed by grief, Chi Qiubai's hair turned white as he let out a cry of anguish. At Xiaoxi's grave, surrounded by mourners, he vowed to destroy the Demon Clan. After everyone left, Ao Lan appeared and took Xiaoxi's soul. Learning of the rare source stone, the High Priest dispatched the Gray Robe Elder to attack the Sea God Palace and seize it, aiming to cripple the Xia Clan. The defenders, sensing the attack, rushed to fight.
Fueled by rage, Chi Qiubai fought ferociously alongside others, including disciples from Changfeng Academy. During the battle, the disciple Kong Youyue was injured, and Si Borong ordered Pu Yangbo to carry her to safety while he provided cover. Concurrently, DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu pursued the Gray Robe Elder. In the ensuing battle, the demon seized DongBo Xueying and dragged him towards a deep chasm.
DongBo Xueying used his last strength to push Yu Jingqiu to safety before he and the Gray Robe Elder fell into the abyss. When the demon forces at the Sea God Palace withdrew, the defenders discovered that the rare source stone had been stolen. Master Tai Shu explained to the surprised elders that the stone was a favor repaid by the Fog City sisters' father, Lord Bu.
The sisters had refined 100,000 ordinary source stones into one rare stone as thanks for Master Tai Shu's help in crafting their spirit fans. Sikong Yang urged everyone to remain united and avoid internal suspicion. Shortly after, a report arrived that the defeated demons had reanimated and exploded, engulfing the Sea God Palace in a sea of fire. At the chasm, others arrived to find no trace of DongBo Xueying, leaving Yu Jingqiu heartbroken.
Examining the demon remnants at the palace, Sikong Yang discovered pieces of Bloodshed Weapons. Master Tai Shu realized this was how the demons had been so powerful. They concluded that the Demon God Association was colluding with a traitor in the Dragon Mountain Empire's weapon industry. Situ Hong, a Changfeng disciple, volunteered to investigate the armories. Determined to find both the traitor and DongBo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu immediately volunteered to join him.
Episode 11 Recap
Kong Youyue remained in a weakened state after being startled, her spiritual power scattered. Sikong Yang administered a Spirit Gathering Pill and infused some internal energy, explaining that her full recovery depended on her own spiritual strength. When she awoke, her brother Kong Hao was with her. She immediately asked for DongBo Xueying, becoming frantic when she learned he had fallen into the Black Wind Cliff and that even the elders couldn't save him.
Believing he was in mortal danger, she insisted on going to find him, but Kong Hao stopped her, urging her to rest. Meanwhile, DongBo Qingshi received the news from his master. He learned that the Demon Clan had attacked the Sea God Palace, and his brother, DongBo Xueying, had sacrificed himself to protect everyone by dragging the demon general Xiang Pangyun into the Black Wind Cliff.
Distraught, Qingshi vowed to go to the cliff to find his brother and take revenge on the demons. Ji Rong volunteered to accompany him to ensure his safety. Yu Jingqiu, accompanied by Si Tu Hong and Si Borong, was tasked with investigating Bloodshed Weapons in Yishui City. They visited various weapon workshops, including the prominent Kong's Weapon Workshop, but found no leads. The shopkeepers claimed that such weapons were forbidden and too difficult to forge.
However, their evasive answers at the Kong family's shop led Jingqiu to suspect they were hiding something. During the search, Si Tu Hong grew impatient and wanted to eat, while a worried Yu Jingqiu had no appetite. Later, at a teahouse, a storyteller recounted the battle at the Sea God Palace, hailing DongBo Xueying as a hero of the Dragon Mountain Empire who sacrificed his life to stop Xiang Pangyun.
Si Borong scoffed, calling the dead useless, which angered Yu Jingqiu. Si Tu Hong forced his brother to apologize to both Xueying's memory and Jingqiu. Privately, Si Tu Hong felt a mix of annoyance at Jingqiu's strong reaction and envy for Xueying's posthumous fame. That night, a grieving Yu Jingqiu saw a fleeting vision of Xueying practicing his spear. Si Tu Hong observed her sorrow from a distance, his jealousy deepening as he lamented that everyone favored Xueying.
He feared that if he had been the one to die, no one would remember him, and that he would never surpass Xueying's legacy. Upon their return to Changfeng Academy, they were confronted by a distraught Puyang Bo, who furiously blamed them for returning safely while Xueying was gone. As other disciples gossiped about Si Tu Hong's failure, his anger, fueled by memories of past criticisms from his family, erupted.
He violently struck a gossiping disciple, threatening the others into silence and reasserting his authority. Kong Hao tried to console Kong Youyue with a conch, using a childhood memory as a metaphor for letting go, but she tearfully insisted that Xueying was irreplaceable to her. In class, Master Tan lectured on becoming a Transcendent. During sparring practice, Si Tu Hong asked Yu Jingqiu to be his partner, but she declined, still overwhelmed by grief.
Feeling the pressure to prove himself, Si Tu Hong requested a fragment of a Bloodshed Weapon from Master Chi Qiubai, arguing it was crucial for finding the demons' collaborators and avenging Xueying. Though hesitant due to the fragment's danger, Chi Qiubai was moved by his determination and agreed, cautioning him to be careful. In the demonic realm, the Demon King learned from the High Priest and Ao Lan of Xueying's unexpected power.
With their Abyss Demons depleted after the battle, they needed more forces to activate the Demon Well with their newly acquired source stones. Ao Lan reported that they were searching for a new drilling site and proposed a new plan: capture disciples from Changfeng Academy and transform them into Black Armored Warriors. The Demon King approved, ordering them to observe the academy's routines.
DongBo Qingshi and Ji Rong arrived at Changfeng Academy, where Puyang Bo confirmed the news of Xueying's death and vowed revenge. Back at Xueying Territory, Qingshi confessed his fear of facing the world alone. Ji Rong comforted him, assuring him he had her and his entire territory's support. Convinced that fate had saved her before, Yu Jingqiu believed Xueying must also be alive.
Brushing aside Si Tu Hong’s attempts to dissuade her, she resolved to find him at Black Wind Cliff. Using the Lotus Lamp to counteract the cliff's powerful airflow, Yu Jingqiu descended into the abyss. At the bottom, she found DongBo Xueying entangled in vines, barely conscious but fiercely clinging to life. She freed him, and they embraced tightly in an emotional reunion. Realizing their true feelings, they shared a kiss.
Their joy was short-lived as they discovered a magical barrier preventing their escape. They decided to settle for the moment, finding a brief sense of peace while fishing, a poignant reminder of a happier time they once shared.
Episode 12 Recap
DongBo Qingshi, accompanied by Ji Rong, returned to Snow Stone Fort but announced his intention to leave after only a few days to focus on his cultivation. He explained to a saddened Zong Ling and Tong San that he must grow stronger to protect Xueying Territory, rescue his mother, defeat the Demon Clan, and avenge his brother.
At Changfeng Academy, Chi Qiubai learned of Yu Jingqiu's disappearance and confronted Situ Hong, who admitted that Jingqiu had taken the Lotus Lamp to Black Wind Cliff to find DongBo Xueying. Chi Qiubai was both angry and remorseful, regretting that he hadn't noticed her unusual behavior earlier. In a conversation with the elder, Tan Shi, Chi Qiubai praised the immense talent and righteous character of both Xueying and Jingqiu, lamenting the loss of two such promising students.
Overhearing this from outside, Situ Hong felt a pang of disappointment that he had never been regarded so highly. Meanwhile, at the bottom of Black Wind Cliff, DongBo Xueying used his Fire Esoterica to roast fish for Yu Jingqiu, playfully naming the dish "Dongbo Snowfish." The simple, warm moment made Jingqiu deeply happy. Realizing they were trapped for the time being, Xueying built a cozy wooden house on a tree for them.
Jingqiu happily helped design it, suggesting a door, a window, a staircase, and a terrace for viewing the scenery. They settled into a peaceful life, enjoying their time together. Trouble began to brew at Changfeng Academy as disciples started to disappear. After two students vanished, Chi Qiubai found a Demon Bell on the grounds. Realizing the Demon Clan was targeting the academy, he met with other elders.
They concluded the Demon God Association was likely trying to bolster its forces and decided to set up protective barriers and patrols. While Xueying and Jingqiu remained unaware of the danger, life at the academy grew tense. During his night patrol, Si Borong was frightened by a shadow near the barrier and tried to tell his brother, Situ Hong.
However, Situ Hong, reminding him of a past family disgrace caused by their negligence, dismissed it as an excuse to be lazy and sent him back to his post alone. That night, Si Borong was captured by the Demon Clan. Overcome with guilt, Situ Hong vowed to rescue him. Driven by his self-reproach, Situ Hong broke through the newly-erected barrier to search for his brother, creating a crack in the academy's defenses.
Kong Youyue and Puyang Bo witnessed his departure, repaired the crack, and reported him to Chi Qiubai. Enraged, Chi Qiubai confronted Situ Hong, explaining that his reckless action had created a vulnerability for the Demon Clan to exploit. Defiant, Situ Hong insisted he had done nothing wrong and was only focused on saving his brother. Chi Qiubai punished him, ordering him to practice continuously until he understood the consequences of his actions.
Later, Chi Qiubai confided in an elder that while Situ Hong was a talented martial artist, his extreme personality was a liability that needed to be tempered. Situ Hong attempted to break out again but was stopped by Kong Youyue and Puyang Bo. Kong Youyue accused him of being responsible for subsequent disappearances by weakening the barrier. Situ Hong retorted that they didn't understand because it wasn't their brother who was missing.
Puyang Bo firmly blocked his path, preventing him from leaving. Later, while bringing Puyang Bo his washed clothes, Kong Youyue discovered a metal fragment by Situ Hong's bed. She recognized the unique petal-like pattern as the secret mark of her family's workshop, identifying the fragment as part of a Bloodshed Weapon—the same kind used by the Demon Clan. Deciding to investigate privately, she put it back and advised a curious Puyang Bo to stay out of it.
At Black Wind Cliff, Xueying and Jingqiu overheard voices discussing the capture of more people, realizing they were being watched. They later spotted demon soldiers entering a dark tunnel and decided to follow them, hoping to find an exit. The tunnel led to a palace-like cave where they met the High Priest of the Demon God Association. After Xueying explained their situation and asked how to leave, the High Priest threw him a manual, telling him he could only depart after mastering the techniques within.
Episode 13 Recap
Dongbo Xueying diligently practices the fire techniques from a book he received, believing it is his key to escaping the bottom of the Black Wind Cliff. The book was a gift from the High Priest, who was acting on his master’s orders. They suspect Xueying possesses the rare Ancient Bloodline of Moyang Yu, and the fire techniques are a test designed to force this power to its limits.
The High Priest explains the plan to a subordinate: if Xueying has the bloodline, the training will be dangerous but will unlock his potential; if he cannot be controlled, he will be killed. Meanwhile, Dongbo Qingshi persuades his master, Bai Yuanzhi, to teach him advanced Lightning Techniques. After struggling and getting repeatedly zapped, Qingshi succeeds in casting the spell with crucial advice from Ji Rong, who explains the difference between his native ice magic and the new lightning element.
Delighted with his progress, Qingshi’s reckless practice ends up destroying Bai Yuanzhi's cherished flowers. To appease his furious master, Qingshi cooks a chicken soup. However, he secretly gives the two chicken legs to Ji Rong as thanks for her help. When Bai Yuanzhi discovers the missing legs, he feels unappreciated and furiously reprimands Qingshi for his thoughtlessness. Although Xueying becomes proficient with the fire techniques, the High Priest detects no sign of the Ancient Bloodline.
He changes tactics, offering Xueying a path to become a Transcendent or even a Demigod in exchange for his allegiance to the Black Wind God Palace. After Xueying and Yu Jingqiu refuse the offer, they each secretly approach the High Priest to make a deal: one would stay if the other was set free. The High Priest agrees to both of their terms, effectively tricking them into remaining.
Shortly after, a masked figure, whom the High Priest calls a "disobedient deserter," breaks through a barrier but is quickly recaptured by guards near Xueying, who is told to mind his own business. Realizing the High Priest has deceived them, Xueying and Jingqiu flee from guards and hide in a secret chamber. Inside, they find a valuable artifact called Dark Ice. The artifact’s energy causes Xueying’s power to surge uncontrollably.
With Jingqiu’s help to stabilize him, he realizes his inner strength is rapidly increasing, describing the feeling as a volcano meeting a tsunami—a blessing in disguise. While hiding, they talk about their homes and families. Elsewhere, Ji Rong finds Qingshi lost in thought and shares her tragic past of being orphaned and abandoned. Finding common ground in their experiences, they grow closer, and Ji Rong vows to always stay by his side.
In Yishui City, Kong Youyue bursts into her father's study and confronts him, Kong Hai, about selling Bloodshed Weapons to the Demon Clan. He denies it and insists she quit Changfeng Academy to marry into a powerful family, coldly admitting that her previous betrothal to the now-presumed-dead Xueying was purely for business. Disgusted, Youyue argues with her father, who slaps her.
Still suspicious, Youyue returns to the study with Puyang Bo and they overhear a contractor, Mr. Zuo, demanding payment from Kong Hai. Mr. Zuo threatens to expose the fact that he witnessed Kong Hai trading the weapons to a man in black for a large sum of gold. To silence him, the steward, Mr. Jia, has Mr. Zuo killed. Having witnessed the murder, Youyue and Puyang Bo are captured.
After they manage to free themselves, Kong Hai orders Puyang Bo killed to protect the family's secrets, but Puyang uses his Shadow Steps ability to escape with Youyue. Torn by her father's actions, Youyue hesitates to report him. Puyang Bo suggests they investigate the buyer, hoping they can help Kong Hai atone for his crimes. That night, they confront a drunken Mr. Jia, with Puyang Bo posing as the ghost of the murdered Mr. Zuo. Terrified, Mr. Jia confesses that the weapons were sold to Moyang Chen of Moyang Fort.
Episode 14 Recap
The High Priest confronted DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu at Black Wind Cliff, acknowledging DongBo Xueying's mastery of the True Meaning of Fire but declaring his intent to destroy him for refusing to serve the Black Wind God Palace. As the High Priest attacked, DongBo Xueying shielded Yu Jingqiu, a move inspired by her suggestion that they could escape by following the cliff's ascending air currents.
The High Priest's powerful blow unexpectedly awakened DongBo Xueying's ancient bloodline, causing him to break through and become a Transcendent. A celestial phenomenon appeared—colorful clouds signifying the birth of a new Transcendent. Far away, Master Chi Qiubai and Faction Leader Sikong Yang witnessed the vision, lamenting that if DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu were still alive, they might have had such potential.
As Yu Jingqiu used her power to carry the newly empowered DongBo Xueying toward the cliff summit, the High Priest struck him in the back with a Demon Clan hidden weapon, the Soul Scouring Nail. Instantly, the celestial vision vanished, leaving onlookers confused as the expected flame of Transcendent Dou Qi never appeared. Shortly after, news reached Changfeng Academy that DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu had returned, prompting Master Chi Qiubai and the students to rush to their side.
They found DongBo Xueying in a coma, severely injured but no longer in mortal danger. Yu Jingqiu recounted their ordeal, describing a masked man controlling Black Armored Warriors. She explained that DongBo Xueying's breakthrough to the Transcendent realm during the fight was what allowed them to escape the abyss. The others, stunned, realized DongBo Xueying was the one who had caused the celestial vision. However, Master Chi Qiubai could not detect any Transcendent Dou Qi in his body.
Yu Jingqiu insisted she had witnessed his body undergo particlization, the sign of becoming a Transcendent, and theorized the hidden weapon that struck him during their ascent suppressed his power. Nearby, Situ Hong overheard this and seethed with jealousy, frustrated that DongBo Xueying was once again ahead of him. Suspecting the Black Wind God Palace was a branch of the Demon God Association, Master Chi Qiubai resolved to report their findings to the Council of Elders immediately.
The elders later visited DongBo Xueying, planning to have him guide them back to Black Wind Cliff to investigate once he recovered. Meanwhile, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo traveled to Moyang's Fort to investigate Mo Yangchen's suspected involvement in illicit arms trading. Finding the fort heavily guarded and protected by barriers, they realized sneaking in was impossible. Learning it was Mo Yangchen's birthday, Kong Youyue devised a plan.
She disguised herself as a performer and gained entry to the celebration, where she performed a captivating long-sleeve drum dance. Impressed, Mo Yangchen invited her and Pu Yangbo to dinner. At the meal, Kong Youyue introduced herself as being from the Kong's Weapon Workshop, claiming she was trying to prove her business acumen to her father.
She offered to sell him a batch of Bloodthirst Blades, noting they had become difficult to sell after the Demon Clan used similar Bloodshed Weapons in the attack on the Sea God Palace. Feigning ignorance about his activities, she prompted Mo Yangchen to reveal he owned a personal alchemy workshop at Dongxiang Lake. This revelation made Kong Youyue wonder why he would need to buy weapons from her family if he could forge his own.
The pair then used Shadow Steps to travel quickly to the alchemy workshop. Posing as customers, they attempted to place a custom order but were turned away by craftsmen who claimed to be too busy with a large, recent project. Though they failed to place an order, they confirmed that Mo Yangchen's alchemy operation was indeed very active.
Back at the academy, a restless DongBo Xueying resumed training despite the burning pain from his injuries, eager to understand his vanished Transcendent power. His friend Kong Hao visited, informing him that Kong Youyue had returned home. Their conversation was interrupted by Situ Hong, who provoked DongBo Xueying, openly doubting his breakthrough and taunting him about the upcoming Transcendent Trial in two weeks. DongBo Xueying accepted the challenge, stating that healing and breaking through under pressure is a cultivator's duty.
Soon after, DongBo Xueying led the Elders and other disciples back to the Black Wind God Palace, only to find it deserted. During the search, Situ Hong discovered a jade pendant belonging to the missing disciple Si Borong and angrily accused DongBo Xueying of abandoning him. DongBo Xueying explained that on the night of their capture, a Black Armored Warrior—whom he now realized was Si Borong—had tried to communicate with him before being dragged away by the masked man.
DongBo Xueying was too injured and powerless to intervene. The group concluded the Black Armored Warriors were likely missing disciples transformed by the Demon Clan, who were kidnapping cultivators to replenish their forces in preparation for an assault on the Demon Well and to strengthen their presence in Nanqin. Although the palace was empty, they discovered a massive fissure near the cliff entrance, seemingly created by an individual with immense internal energy.
To identify this person, they sought the help of Si An at Dragon Mountain Mansion, renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge. Si An confirmed the fissure's origin and provided a list of the only individuals in the empire capable of such power, aside from Demigods. After eliminating those who were dead, confined, or weakened, he proposed a surprising suspect: Bai Yuanzhi, a seemingly ordinary mage in Yishui City.
Si An recounted that twenty years ago, after the war with the Demon Clan, Bai Yuanzhi had inquired about the city's strongest cultivators, claiming to seek sparring partners, but then simply settled there, never revealing his true strength. The Elders decided to cautiously investigate this mysterious figure. The name Bai Yuanzhi deeply troubled Faction Leader Sikong Yang. He recalled his senior brother, also named Bai Yuanzhi, from twenty years prior.
During the war, Bai Yuanzhi had been afflicted with an incurable demonic poison while protecting Sikong Yang. To preserve the honor of the Water Daoist Temple, he chose to leave, recommending Sikong Yang to become the new Master in his stead. Sikong Yang was left to wonder if the man Si An spoke of was his long-lost brother.
Meanwhile, in a secret meeting, the Second Priest of the Demon God Association reported to the High Priest that a new location for a Demon Well had been found. The High Priest relayed the news to the Great Demon God, explaining that the site—where the first ray of sunlight falls after a lunar eclipse—is the weakest point connecting the three realms. The chosen location for the new Demon Well was revealed to be Xueying Territory.
Episode 15 Recap
The Great Demon God received a report from his demons in the Dark Abyss, who had located a new site for the Demon Well in Xueying Territory. This location, where the first ray of sunlight would fall after a lunar eclipse, marked the weakest point connecting the three realms. Pleased, the Great Demon God declared his comeback plan was advancing.
He ordered Ao Lan to assemble the demon forces and proceed to Xueying Territory with source stones, and also instructed that it was time to activate the Third Priest, Ji Rong, who acknowledged the order. Dongbo Qingshi was practicing late at night when he spotted a fleeting shadow. As he was about to investigate, Ji Rong appeared and dismissed his concern, suggesting he was merely tired and seeing things.
Shortly after, Dongbo Qingshi was overjoyed by the arrival of his brother, Dongbo Xueying, along with Zong Ling and Tong San from Snow Stone Fort. Later, Ji Rong expressed sadness to Dongbo Qingshi, worried that his brother's return would separate them. Qingshi immediately invited her to Xueying Territory, calling her his best friend and like family. Ji Rong feigned hesitation, suggesting she was an outsider and that Dongbo Xueying might not agree.
A determined Qingshi went to his brother, who was discussing plans with Zong Ling and Tong San and noted that having an outsider around might be inconvenient. Qingshi insisted that Ji Rong was someone he liked and trusted, and no longer an outsider. Meanwhile, Situ Hong and other elders arrived at the residence of Bai Yuanzhi.
When Xueying introduced himself, Bai Yuanzhi recognized him as Moyang Yu's son, remarked on his powerful aura, and connected him to the large crack at Black Wind Cliff, suggesting few others could have caused it. Situ Hong pressed Bai Yuanzhi, accusing him of being Dugu Ling, a master who disappeared twenty years ago, and demanding he prove his identity. Bai Yuanzhi refused, stating he had been in seclusion.
When Situ Hong grew aggressive, Bai Yuanzhi trapped the group in a protective barrier. Master Tai Shu failed to break it alone, but Dongbo Xueying noticed multiple critical points in the formation. He suggested that Master Tai Shu and Sikong Yang attack from the front and back simultaneously, which successfully shattered the barrier. Once free, Situ Hong demanded to know the whereabouts of Si Borong and other missing disciples, but Bai Yuanzhi refused to answer.
When Xueying sought clarification on the remark about his mother, Bai Yuanzhi simply said that Moyang Yu had a good son. The elders decided to imprison him until he confessed, though Sikong Yang argued against it, stating that imprisoning a great mage without evidence would tarnish the council's reputation.
At an alchemy workshop, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo overheard workers complaining about a rushed order for weapons and a lack of Blood Spirit Stones, confirming their suspicion that the wealthy Moyang family was forging Bloodshed Weapons. They infiltrated Moyang's Fort, where Kong Youyue used a disguise to distract the guards. Inside, they found Moyang Chen's secret cultivation chamber filled with scripts for a secret technique, which Kong Youyue copied.
Using her Inner Sight Technique, Kong Youyue then spied on Moyang Chen confronting his captive sister, Moyang Yu. He threatened her son's life to force her to reveal the secret of the Ancient Bloodline, but she defiantly refused. Kong Youyue was stunned to learn that Moyang Yu was Dongbo Xueying's mother and relieved that he was still alive. She and Pu Yangbo decided to leave quickly to report their findings.
Held in detention, Bai Yuanzhi was confronted by Situ Hong, who pleaded for information on the missing Changfeng disciples, one of whom was his cousin. Distressed, Bai Yuanzhi lashed out and knocked him unconscious. Sikong Yang then entered, and Bai Yuanzhi recognized him as his junior brother from the Water Daoist Temple. Bai Yuanzhi confessed that he had been infected with demonic poison during a battle with the Great Demon God, which had slowly turned him into a half-demon.
He had endured years of suffering and asked Sikong Yang to keep his condition secret to protect the temple's reputation. Sikong Yang noticed that Bai Yuanzhi's cultivation had caused his life-sustaining energy channels to close, placing him in mortal danger if not treated immediately. As they were leaving, Situ Hong reappeared and accused Bai Yuanzhi of being a half-demon.
Sikong Yang sternly refuted the claim, vouching for Bai Yuanzhi on behalf of the Water Daoist Temple and using the need for urgent medical treatment as a reason for his release. Dongbo Xueying and Qingshi returned to Xueying Territory. Xueying explained to Zong Ling and Tong San that his Transcendent power felt unstable, only manifesting during near-death experiences.
He decided to return to Changfeng Academy for the Transcendent Trial to stabilize his abilities and gain the strength to rescue his mother. Qingshi wanted to join him, but Xueying insisted he remain to oversee their territory. That night, Ji Rong brought Qingshi soup and manipulated him into believing that by staying, he was providing his brother with the peace of mind needed to face the trial. The next day, Yu Jingqiu saw Ji Rong furtively searching for something.
Ji Rong claimed to have lost an earring, but Jingqiu noticed she was already wearing a pair. Suspicious, Jingqiu reported the incident to Xueying. Later, while at the market, a man named Ji Wuhai caused a scene, claiming to be Ji Rong’s estranged, gambling-addicted father. After Ji Rong paid his debts, she explained to the others that he was indeed her father, but his addiction had caused her mother’s death, leaving her feeling orphaned.
Before departing for the academy, Xueying privately warned Qingshi to be cautious around Ji Rong. He then tasked Zong Ling and Tong San with watching over the naive Qingshi. Shortly after, Ji Rong fell from her horse, claiming to be too injured to travel. Qingshi insisted she stay at Snow Stone Fort to recover, an offer she accepted as Zong Ling watched her with a scrutinizing gaze.
After returning to Changfeng Academy, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo reported Moyang Chen's practice of demonic techniques to the council leader, He Yuan. Enraged, He Yuan vowed to kill Moyang Chen himself. Tipped off, Moyang Chen killed a subordinate who had offered to take the blame, then presented the body to He Yuan as the confessed traitor. He defended his imprisonment of Moyang Yu as a family matter and denied any wrongdoing.
He Yuan denounced Moyang Chen's unscrupulous methods and expelled him from the Black White Deity Mountain permanently. Moyang Chen departed, swearing revenge. Later, Dongbo Xueying discussed his plan to rescue his mother from Leichao Sea Cliff with Yu Jingqiu. He felt confident about overcoming the formations and guards, using information from Kong Hao and his own prior experience. Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo offered to help, but Xueying refused, deeming it too dangerous. Yu Jingqiu, however, insisted on accompanying him, saying she would worry too much if he went alone. Dongbo Xueying gratefully accepted her help.
Episode 16 Recap
Upon returning to Changfeng Academy, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo inform Dongbo Xueying about the situation at Moyang's Fort. Feeling her martial skills were insufficient to help, Kong Youyue expresses regret and offers to accompany Dongbo Xueying back to the fort with Pu Yangbo, citing their previous experience there. Dongbo Xueying refuses, deeming it too dangerous. Yu Jingqiu then offers to go with him, stating she would worry if he went alone.
Dongbo Xueying accepts her offer, which visibly disappoints Kong Youyue. Pu Yangbo cheers her up by pointing out that he is the only one who gets to see her angry expressions, calling it his special privilege, which makes her smile. Meanwhile, Ji Rong continues her search for the Demon Well, growing impatient after five days with no results. Aware that her healing injury will soon eliminate her reason to stay, she intensifies her efforts.
She discovers Dongbo Lie's tomb on a mountain peak and realizes this location aligns with descriptions of the weakest point connecting realms—a place with a thin crust and higher temperature. Deducing it as the potential site for the Demon Well, she understands it is key to her mission of helping the Demon Clan enter Xueying Territory. She observes the guards in the area acting strangely. Encountering Xiong Qi, a commander, she feigns a foot injury to get closer to him.
Later, Tong San arrives and discovers Xiong Qi has replaced legitimate soldiers who took leave with unauthorized villagers without proper reporting, a serious violation of army rules. Tong San reprimands Xiong Qi and orders the villagers removed. Afterward, Ji Rong offers Xiong Qi a large sum of money for a small favor, but he refuses. She then employs threats and manipulation, warning that if he reports her, she can make him and his family vanish without a trace.
After the academy's rankings are posted, Situ Hong notes that his rank is significantly lower than Dongbo Xueying's. He then observes Chi Qiubai giving Dongbo Xueying individual guidance on focusing his Dou Qi, confirming Situ Hong's belief that Xueying is receiving special attention. Chi Qiubai praises Xueying's rapid progress, though Xueying humbly feels his spear technique lags behind his advanced Dou Qi.
Situ Hong approaches Chi Qiubai for similar personal guidance, but Chi Qiubai explains that the technique requires a level of Dou Qi control that Xueying possesses but Situ Hong currently lacks, advising him against impatience. Feeling unfairly treated and believing his master favors Xueying, Situ Hong inwardly vows to surpass him through his own efforts. Driven by his desire for rapid advancement, Situ Hong targets the forbidden section of the academy library.
Using the pretense of needing a damaged family chronicle restored by Teacher Tan Shi, he steals the key to the forbidden area. Believing it holds advanced martial arts manuals suitable for his talent, he finds and begins practicing a forbidden technique. Lacking the necessary foundation, he suffers a severe backlash from the uncontrolled energy and is injured. Dongbo Xueying discovers him and offers assistance, but Situ Hong angrily rejects his help.
Situ Hong later confronts Yu Jingqiu, asking who she would support if he and Dongbo Xueying were to fight. When she doesn't immediately answer, he leaves in frustration. Dongbo Xueying asks Yu Jingqiu about their conversation, and she reveals Situ Hong's question. Xueying then asks her the same, to which she replies she would always support the one in the right, regardless of their relationship. Concerned for Situ Hong's injury, Yu Jingqiu gives him Shennong Pills for internal healing.
Misinterpreting her kindness as affection, Situ Hong declares his intention to have his aunt propose marriage to her after he finds Si Borong. He imagines a future where they become Transcendent and revitalize the Si Family army. Yu Jingqiu firmly rejects him, stating their paths are incompatible and that the responsibility of restoring the Si Family army rests solely with him.
Hurt and confused, Situ Hong questions her feelings for Dongbo Xueying and makes unfounded accusations about their time alone at Black Wind Cliff, prompting Yu Jingqiu to tell him he is causing her to lose respect for him. At breakfast the following day, Situ Hong glares at Yu Jingqiu. He grows increasingly jealous watching Dongbo Xueying share a warm meal with Yu Jingqiu, Pu Yangbo, and Kong Youyue. Situ Hong makes disparaging remarks about their camaraderie, calling them sycophants.
Pu Yangbo retorts, but Situ Hong escalates the confrontation by insulting Xueying's friends and their upbringing. When he brings up their parents, Dongbo Xueying warns him to stop. The argument intensifies, with both declaring their prolonged tolerance of the other has ended. Situ Hong challenges Xueying to a fight. As they prepare to clash, Chi Qiubai arrives and stops them. Though Situ Hong tries to blame Xueying, Dongbo Xueying admits to initiating physical action and accepts the consequences.
Chi Qiubai punishes Xueying by ordering him to clean the library without using magic and sends him immediately. He punishes Situ Hong by restricting him from eating for three days. Later, Chi Qiubai expresses his concern that Situ Hong's impulsive nature could lead him down the same destructive path as Moyang Chen. While Dongbo Xueying begins cleaning the library, Yu Jingqiu, Pu Yangbo, and Kong Youyue arrive to help.
Kong Youyue uses her magic to assist, rationalizing that only Dongbo Xueying was forbidden from using spells. During the process, she accidentally knocks over a pile of books with her magic, which fall on Yu Jingqiu and render her unconscious. While unconscious, Yu Jingqiu dreams of two figures she believes are her parents battling a "Snowflake Demon"—an entity with snowflake marks on its hands—near the Demon Well. Upon waking, she recounts the dream to Chi Qiubai.
Chi Qiubai, unfamiliar with such a demon, gives her an incense burner as a token and advises her to seek out Si Lianghong in Nanqin City for information. Driven by the vivid dream and the discovery of a similar snowflake mark on her own shoulder, Yu Jingqiu resolves to go to Nanqin City. She initially tries to leave alone, but Dongbo Xueying insists on accompanying her, reminding her of his promise to help her find her past.
As they prepare to depart, Kong Hai arrives at the academy with gifts, intending to finalize his daughter Kong Youyue's arranged marriage to Dongbo Xueying. Kong Hai attempts to enforce the engagement, but Xueying politely declines, stating that he already loves someone else while taking Yu Jingqiu's hand. Angered by the public refusal, Kong Hai instructs a subordinate to eliminate Yu Jingqiu, seeing her as the obstacle to his daughter's marriage.
Later, as Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu are being escorted out of Nanqin City by soldiers on Si Lianghong's orders, they are ambushed by two assassins from the Bloodshed Tavern. The assassins seize Kong Youyue, who had followed them, and demand Yu Jingqiu in exchange. Though Dongbo Xueying refuses, Yu Jingqiu offers herself to protect Kong Youyue. As she approaches the assassins, she swiftly subdues them.
Recognizing the assassins' affiliation, Yu Jingqiu devises a plan to use one of them to lead them to their employer. Following the trail, they arrive at a restaurant owned by Kong Youyue's family. In a private room, they discover that the person who hired the assassins is Kong Hai. When confronted, Kong Hai confesses that he hired the Bloodshed Tavern to eliminate Yu Jingqiu on Mo Feng's advice.
Deeply ashamed and distraught by her father's actions, Kong Youyue takes a dagger and cuts her own arm, declaring that she will bear the consequences of his mistake. Witnessing her remorse, Yu Jingqiu spares Kong Hai for Kong Youyue's sake but warns him of severe consequences for any future attempts. As she and Dongbo Xueying leave, Yu Jingqiu tells Kong Hai he should be grateful to have such a daughter.
Episode 17 Recap
Kong Youyue confronted her father, Kong Hai, demanding to know why he had hired assassins who nearly killed her and endangered Yu Jingqiu. Kong Hai showed no remorse, claiming his actions were for her sake and blaming her for failing to secure DongBo Xueying. Heartbroken by his unrepentant attitude, Kong Youyue disowned him and returned to Changfeng Academy to drink alone.
Pu Yangbo found her and brought her food, quietly listening as she lamented the loss of the loving father she once knew. After she cried herself to sleep on his shoulder, he vowed to protect her like the sun. DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu, understanding Kong Youyue's pain, decided to drop the matter concerning Kong Hai. With the continued support of her friends, Kong Youyue gradually returned to her cheerful self.
Meanwhile, at Snow Stone Fort, Ji Rong prepared a meal for everyone, secretly adding a demonic sleeping spell. DongBo Qingshi, insisting a guest shouldn't perform such chores, sent her to change while he offered to serve the food. However, he accidentally spilled all the dishes. Attempting to cook a replacement meal with his magic, he only managed to create several burnt dishes.
When Ji Rong returned, she offered to make a soup, using the opportunity to add another, more potent dose of the sleeping spell. That night, Ji Rong led Ao Lan and other demons into the fort, guiding them to Dongbo Lie's tomb to search for the Demon Well. A groggy DongBo Qingshi awoke and, finding the guards missing, was confronted by demon soldiers. He fought back fiercely with his lightning magic but was eventually overwhelmed and knocked unconscious.
Upon waking, Ji Rong was by his side and convinced him the attack was just a vivid nightmare, claiming he had thrashed in his sleep and held her hand so tightly she couldn't leave. The demon's search for the well was unsuccessful, and the Black Armored Warriors they brought were defeated by Dongbo Qingshi. Reporting this to the Demon Master, Ao Lan suggested a new strategy: demonizing talented human cultivators would be far more efficient.
He proposed targeting the powerful young participants of the upcoming Transcendent Trial. Despite the High Priest's concerns about the trial's protective barrier controlled by Chi Qiubai, the Demon Master approved the plan, instructing Ao Lan to force Chi Qiubai's hand. Ao Lan sought out Chi Qiubai, revealing that Bu Xiaoxi's energy core was still intact, preserved by the Divine Datura Flower. He explained that the flower subjects the core to a painful daily cycle of being drained and restored.
As leverage, Ao Lan demanded that Chi Qiubai assist the Demon God Association. Chi Qiubai vehemently refused to align with the Demon Clan, but Ao Lan taunted him, questioning the value of a "justice" that couldn't save Bu Xiaoxi, leaving him to grapple with the agonizing choice. As the Changfeng Academy disciples, including DongBo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, Pu Yangbo, and a recovering Kong Youyue, prepared for the Transcendent Trial, DongBo Qingshi remained troubled by his "nightmare."
Ji Rong found him at his father's tomb and manipulated his concern, urging him to participate in the trial. She argued that improving his skills was the best way to help his brother rescue their mother. Convinced, DongBo Qingshi agreed to go to Yishui City with Tong San. Unable to bear Bu Xiaoxi's suffering, Chi Qiubai went to the Demon God Association to accept Ao Lan's deal.
He agreed to open the trial barrier in exchange for Bu Xiaoxi's energy core, on the condition that no harm would come to any of the trial participants. Chi Qiubai saw this as a desperate gamble and a potential opportunity to infiltrate the Demon Clan. DongBo Qingshi and Tong San arrived in the crowded Yishui City. They witnessed Cui Yong, the senior disciple of Changfeng Academy, righteously intervene in a dispute.
Another disciple, Situ Hong, obsequiously approached Cui Yong for advice. Later, in a teahouse, a storyteller declared Cui Yong the most likely to pass the trial. DongBo Qingshi passionately objected, defending his brother's honor by listing DongBo Xueying's great feats, much to the annoyance of Situ Hong.
Episode 18 Recap
DongBo Qingshi, frustrated by his own weakness and wishing to share his brother DongBo Xueying's burdens, decided to register for the Transcendent Battle of Life and Death. At the registration, he learned that prospective participants had to ring the Transcendent Bell by infusing it with their Dou Qi. Only those with Silver Moon level Dou Qi or higher could produce a sound, signifying their potential to become a Transcendent. Determined to help his brother, Qingshi vowed to succeed.
Masters Chi Qiubai and Sikong Yang arrived for the trial, which was hailed as the most anticipated in recent years. After participants were grouped, the rules were explained: they had to ring the Transcendent Bell with their Dou Qi or spiritual power to pass the initial stage. While many failed, Situ Hong, Yu Jingqiu, Kong Youyue, and Pu Yangbo all succeeded. DongBo Xueying’s attempt produced a particularly powerful ring that astonished the elders.
Sikong Yang remarked that Xueying might become the youngest Transcendent in the history of the Xia Clan and also noted that Yu Jingqiu's spiritual power seemed to be suppressed by something. Chi Qiubai, while acknowledging Xueying's talent, cautioned that the true test was yet to come. Those who passed received tokens to enter the trial space, which also served as emergency escape talismans.
Secretly, Chi Qiubai had set up a barrier with the intention of preventing any participant from actually achieving Transcendent status, thus protecting them from being targeted by demons. He designated pulling a Spirit Sword within the trial as the condition for passing. To Xueying’s surprise, Qingshi appeared in the trial space, having successfully passed the bell test.
Xueying scolded him for the recklessness, but Qingshi insisted he had earned his place and wanted to help, revealing that Ji Rong had encouraged him to participate. Xueying reluctantly allowed him to stay, on the condition that he remain close and that Ji Rong must leave Xueying Territory after the trial concluded. Inside, the participants found themselves in a complex maze formation.
The elders monitoring the trial suddenly lost their connection and noticed that injured disciples were not being ejected by the safety mechanism, realizing with horror that demons had infiltrated the space. A black demonic smoke spread through the maze, causing those who inhaled it to lose their senses and attack their allies. DongBo Xueying discovered he was immune to its effects. Kong Youyue's attempt to locate the manipulator with her abilities was hindered by the smoke.
Suddenly, Black Armored Warriors appeared, leading Kong Youyue to fear her missing brother, Borong, might be among them, and she implored Xueying to find him. Cui Yong, his mind corrupted by the demonic poison, begged Xueying to kill him while he still had a shred of his identity as a Xia Clan member. Xueying refused. With time running out, Kong Youyue located the Spirit Sword.
Realizing it required Transcendent power, Xueying channeled all his spiritual power and Dou Qi, successfully pulling the sword and breaking through to become a Transcendent. Immediately, the demon general Ao Lan appeared to seize the new Transcendent, but was intercepted by Chi Qiubai. The confrontation was interrupted when Situ Hong appeared, declaring that Cui Yong was dead with Xueying's spear in his chest, accusing Xueying of murdering a fellow disciple to achieve his breakthrough.
Xueying denied the accusation, insisting demons were responsible. While other disciples confirmed seeing demons, none had witnessed the killing. To ensure an impartial investigation, Chi Qiubai ordered Cui Yong's body be sent for an autopsy and had Situ Hong escort Xueying to the Thunderstorm Prison. Qingshi protested, but Xueying complied, confident his name would be cleared.
That night, Situ Hong was tormented by nightmares, vividly reliving the moment he killed Cui Yong and then accidentally slew Borong with a spear, revealing he had framed Xueying to conceal his own crimes. In a nearby cell, Xueying heard his cries of "Don't come over!" and mistakenly thought he was in real danger.
Convinced of Xueying's innocence, Yu Jingqiu examined Cui Yong’s body and made a critical discovery: Cui Yong was afflicted with a fatal, bone-deep demonic poison that had already turned him into a demon before the spear wound was inflicted. She reported this to Chi Qiubai, but he remained noncommittal, stating the academy would conduct its own investigation.
After she left, Chi Qiubai recalled his earlier confrontation with Ao Lan, who had revealed that Xueying had been struck by a Demon Clan Soul Scouring Nail, which should have prevented him from ever becoming a Transcendent. This revelation solidified Chi Qiubai's resolve to protect Xueying, whom he now saw as the future hope of the Xia Clan. Later, Yu Jingqiu, Kong Youyue, Pu Yangbo, and DongBo Qingshi visited Xueying in prison.
They found his cell was large and filled with cultivation books, a sign of Chi Qiubai's special consideration. During the visit, Qingshi tearfully expressed his frustration at being too weak to help, explaining that the trial was the first time he felt useful rather than a burden. Xueying apologized for not understanding his brother’s inner struggles. The friends reaffirmed their belief in his innocence, and Yu Jingqiu gave him a Tianxian Flower, a symbol of perseverance, to aid his cultivation.
She shared her findings about the demonic poison in Cui Yong's body, and realizing they couldn't rely on the academy for a swift resolution, the group decided to go to Huxin Island to find more evidence themselves.
Episode 19 Recap
Despite the black mist having dispersed, a lingering smell of demonic energy remains. Yu Jingqiu notes the strange phenomenon and the complex, dangerous environment, warning that investigating could easily destroy clues or endanger everyone. She suggests it would be best if DongBo Xueying could investigate with them, but he is held in the Thunderstorm Prison. One of their companions proposes a plan to help him. They go to the Thunderstorm Prison, where DongBo Qingshi urges DongBo Xueying to leave.
They decide to swap clothes, with DongBo Qingshi pretending to be his brother to buy time while DongBo Xueying leaves with Yu Jingqiu to search for evidence. DongBo Qingshi expresses confidence in his ability to impersonate his brother from a distance. As they prepare to swap, Situ Hong approaches. They quickly hide behind a bookshelf as Situ Hong speaks with the guards outside before leaving. After the close call, DongBo Qingshi gets on the bed, and DongBo Xueying leaves.
Meanwhile, the elders debate Cui Yong's death. Some insist DongBo Xueying must be punished, but Master Sikong intervenes, arguing that it is too early to place blame before a thorough investigation. Another elder suggests they speak with DongBo Xueying to understand the situation. When they arrive at the prison, DongBo Qingshi, pretending to be his brother, initially avoids facing them.
When the elders accuse DongBo Xueying of heinous acts, DongBo Qingshi turns and passionately defends him, insisting on his innocence and criticizing them for making conclusions without investigation. The elders are surprised to see DongBo Qingshi and demand to know DongBo Xueying's location. DongBo Qingshi feigns ignorance. Some elders suspect DongBo Xueying fled due to guilt, but Chi Qiubai vouches for him, believing he is searching for evidence and will return, offering to find him and uncover the truth.
Elsewhere, Ao Lan receives news that DongBo Xueying has escaped and orders his followers to track him down for his own purposes. DongBo Xueying and his companions search the trial area, where they discover a Black Armored Warrior mask and Si Borong's body, confirming their suspicion that the Demon Clan was involved. Separately, Chi Qiubai confronts Ao Lan over his relentless pursuit of DongBo Xueying.
Ao Lan asserts that Xueying, having just become a Transcendent, is at the peak of his power and must be utilized. To protect his disciple, Chi Qiubai offers to take his place in the Demon Clan's plans. Ao Lan agrees to the exchange, demanding Chi Qiubai prove his loyalty later. DongBo Xueying and his companions bring Si Borong's body back to Changfeng Academy.
He explains that both Cui Yong and Si Borong were killed by the Demon Clan, not by him. Situ Hong expresses deep grief and vows revenge. Yu Jingqiu examines Si Borong's body and confirms the presence of demonic fire corrosion, with symptoms she witnessed in the Sea God Palace battle.
DongBo Xueying clarifies that this demonic fire has a delayed effect, which is why the elders didn't detect it earlier, and accuses the Demon Clan of exploiting this to sow discord. Convinced by the evidence, the elders realize spies have infiltrated the academy. They clear DongBo Xueying's name and redirect their focus to the Demon Clan threat. At Xueying Territory, Ji Rong's gambler father, Ji Wuhai, arrives looking for her.
Ji Rong is angry but, given the late hour, asks Zong Ling and Tong San to let her father stay the night. She gives him money, ordering him to leave the next day. Ji Wuhai then emotionally manipulates her, criticizing her as a half-demon unwanted by either side and arguing she needs him. Enraged by the memory of her mother's death, which he caused, Ji Rong threatens him before storming off.
The next morning, Ji Wuhai takes the money, loses it all gambling, and brings his creditors back to Xueying Territory. Ji Rong drives them away, but Ji Wuhai begs to stay, subtly threatening to expose her secret. Zong Ling, though suspicious of Ji Rong, allows Ji Wuhai to stay temporarily out of consideration for DongBo Qingshi, deciding to wait for DongBo Xueying's return to resolve the matter.
Chi Qiubai deduces the Demon Clan seeks new Transcendents because their Black Armored Warriors are not powerful enough, making a young, strong Transcendent like DongBo Xueying a prime target. He knows they don't trust him and intend to implant the painful Soul Scouring Nail in him for control. In his conversation with Ao Lan, Chi Qiubai expresses his surprise that Xueying overcame the nail's influence to become Transcendent, acknowledging his genius.
He admits to interfering in the trial to protect his disciples. As part of their deal, Chi Qiubai agrees to accept the Soul Scouring Nail on the condition that the one in DongBo Xueying's body is removed. Ao Lan provides a pill and explains the nail will transfer to Chi Qiubai using his blood as a catalyst, warning that the nail will return to Xueying if it leaves Chi Qiubai's body.
Chi Qiubai secretly resolves to find a way to destroy it. Later, Chi Qiubai hosts a celebratory dinner for DongBo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, and Pu Yangbo. They enjoy fish caught by DongBo Xueying and share treasured wine. Chi Qiubai toasts his student's achievement, reminding him that becoming Transcendent comes with the responsibility to protect the Xia Clan. DongBo Xueying affirms this but states his priority is to first rescue his mother. They drink until everyone but Chi Qiubai passes out.
Looking at the unconscious Xueying, Chi Qiubai reflects on the immense pain his student must have endured from the nail. Resolved, he takes the pill from Ao Lan and uses his own blood to transfer the Soul Scouring Nail from DongBo Xueying into himself, silently enduring the agony. Ao Lan then appears, impressed by Chi Qiubai's composure, and tells him it is time for them to leave.
Episode 20 Recap
Upon waking, DongBo Xueying felt completely refreshed, the stabbing pain in his back gone. His immediate priority was rescuing his mother from Moyang's Fort. He set out with Yu Jingqiu, Pu Yangbo, and Kong Youyue. As a new Transcendent, DongBo Xueying’s power had grown immensely, and he easily overpowered Moyang Chen. Just as DongBo Xueying was about to deliver a final blow to Moyang Chen, the masked High Priest of the Demon Clan appeared and intervened.
In the ensuing chaos, Yu Jingqiu saw the conflict and felt a sudden wave of dizziness, accompanied by fragmented memories of her childhood. The High Priest used the distraction to escape with both Moyang Chen and DongBo Xueying's mother, Moyang Yu. The Demon Clan's involvement led DongBo Xueying to realize that his family's tragedy ten years ago was not a simple feud but part of a larger conspiracy. Kong Youyue found a blue crystal ball dropped by the High Priest.
Yu Jingqiu recognized it as an object from the core chamber of the Xinhuo Palace, which she had seen as a child. They deduced there must be a demon spy within the Xinhuo Palace, the Xia Clan's most powerful defensive force, posing a threat to the entire clan. Yu Jingqiu explained that joining the Xinhuo Palace was a difficult process, requiring years of training within a Transcendent organization and passing the Hundred-Battle Chamber test.
Unwilling to wait, DongBo Xueying decided to seek help from Sikong Yang, Master of the Water Daoist Temple, to gain immediate entry. Impressed by DongBo Xueying's filial piety and determination, Sikong Yang agreed to let him attempt the challenging test despite his inexperience. Meanwhile, the High Priest took Moyang Chen and Moyang Yu to the demon base. He treated Moyang Chen's injuries and gave him a manual for an advanced demonic technique.
He warned Moyang Chen that to master it, he would eventually have to abandon his righteous cultivation to avoid a fatal backlash. Believing he had no other path after being expelled from Black White Deity Mountain, Moyang Chen fully committed to the Demon Clan. The High Priest tasked him with guarding Moyang Yu, stressing her importance, and told him the Second Priest would contact him soon.
Elsewhere, DongBo Qingshi found a letter from Zong Ling about Ji Rong's father and rushed back to Snow Stone Fort. Ji Rong, disgusted by her father Ji Wuhai's greed, had disguised herself as an assassin to scare him off. Ji Wuhai fled in terror and was saved by Tong San. Although DongBo Qingshi pleaded for Ji Wuhai to stay, Ji Rong later lied, claiming her father was used to a wanderer's life and had already left.
Sikong Yang brought DongBo Xueying to the Hundred-Battle Chamber, explaining he first had to break through an energy barrier as a test of strength. DongBo Xueying failed, unable to open the gate. Sikong Yang advised him to focus on steadily increasing his power level first, marking DongBo Xueying's first significant taste of failure. At Changfeng Academy, Situ Hong requested leave from Ms. Tanshi to take Si Borong's body home.
Ms. Tanshi noted that Si Borong's death seemed to have changed Situ Hong. In the demon base, Moyang Chen struggled to learn the demonic technique. Moyang Yu mocked his pathetic state, enraging him. The Second Priest arrived just in time to stop him, reminding him that Moyang Yu was a crucial asset. He then ordered Moyang Chen to lead a feigned attack on the Demon Well in Nanqin as a diversion for the Demon Clan's real plan.
At the Si Mansion, Si Lianghong berated Situ Hong for failing to protect his cousin, Si Borong. A devastated Situ Hong went to drink alone, followed by Moyang Chen. Later, a drunken Situ Hong confronted Si Lianghong, accusing her of always favoring Si Borong while treating him with contempt because he was from a side branch of the family.
He drunkenly repeated a rumor that she was in a relationship with Chi Qiubai, pointing to the similarities between their family's Vanishing Technique and his Space Split technique. Enraged and disappointed, Si Lianghong left. Moyang Chen then approached Situ Hong and proposed an alliance. He falsely blamed Situ Hong for the deaths of Cui Yong and Si Borong, claiming to have demon witnesses, to manipulate him.
He offered a powerful technique that could increase one's power tenfold in exchange for the Si family's secret Vanishing Technique manual. Though Situ Hong initially refused, Moyang Chen left him to consider the offer, preying on his desperation to surpass DongBo Xueying.
Episode 21 Recap
Feeling she had been overly strict with Situ Hong, Si Lianghong reflected on her true intentions. She explained to her attendant that she saw great potential in him and pushed him hard so he could one day surpass her, unlike Si Borong, who lacked serious interest in martial arts. She believed Situ Hong would eventually understand her efforts. However, her hopes turned to fury when she discovered him stealing the family's secret manual, the Vanishing Technique.
Enraged, she called him an ungrateful brat and prepared to punish him. Before she could act, Si Lianghong was attacked from behind. Turning, she faced an assailant who looked like Chi Qiubai but immediately knew it was an imposter. The attacker was Mo Yangchen, disguised by Ao Lan. Ao Lan had calculated that despite Si Lianghong's past as a formidable general, she was severely weakened from recently mending the Nanqin Demon Well, making her vulnerable to a surprise attack.
Faced with the disguised Mo Yangchen, Situ Hong pleaded for his aunt's life, offering the Vanishing Technique manual in exchange. As part of their prior arrangement, Mo Yangchen accepted the manual and, in turn, empowered Situ Hong with a demonic technique. He then used his demonic power to command the conflicted Situ Hong to kill his aunt and seize control of the family.
Overwhelmed by the demonic influence, a tearful Situ Hong struck the fatal blow and then cried out for help over his aunt's body. News of Si Lianghong's death quickly reached Changfeng Academy, with rumors spreading that Chi Qiubai had killed her during a private sparring session, a story supposedly backed by a witness in the Si Mansion. When elders from the council arrived to investigate, Chi Qiubai further complicated matters by handling the inquiry himself, claiming the dean was unavailable.
DongBo Xueying, hearing the news from Yu Jingqiu, fiercely refused to believe his master was a murderer. Convinced of Chi Qiubai's innocence, he traveled to Nanqin City with Yu Jingqiu and their companions to investigate. In Nanqin City, the elders gathered at the Si Mansion, where a grieving Situ Hong begged them to deliver justice. During the investigation, Yu Jingqiu discovered a memory bubble in Si Lianghong's room. When viewed, it showed the killer only from behind.
Situ Hong immediately questioned its authenticity, suggesting it could have been planted. However, DongBo Xueying and the others concluded that while the killer's identity remained hidden, the bubble proved Chi Qiubai was not the one who delivered the fatal blow, though he might have been an accomplice. DongBo Xueying vowed to find his master in the city to uncover the truth.
Meanwhile, Ji Rong remained in Xueying Territory, where she stole the key to the secret passage in Dongbo Lie's tomb. She later feigned distress and fainted, drawing the concern of DongBo Qingshi, who carried her home. That night, Zong Ling spotted her during his patrol and questioned her suspicious presence, but she excused herself by claiming she felt unwell and quickly left.
Ji Rong then met with Ao Lan, giving him the key and receiving orders to distract the Xueying Territory guards the next day. Ao Lan had brought a captive Chi Qiubai to Xueying Territory, forcing him to infuse a rare source stone with his power. Ao Lan claimed the plan was unrelated to DongBo Xueying, reminding Chi Qiubai that he had willingly taken Xueying's place.
The next morning, the planned distraction began with a report of a haunted farmhouse causing panic. Zong Ling was suspicious, but Ji Rong persuaded DongBo Qingshi that investigating the "haunting" would demonstrate his compassion and solidify his authority. Against the advice of Zong Ling and Tong San, DongBo Qingshi dispatched guards to the farmhouse. As the guards left, Sikong Yang arrived in Nanqin to warn the elders that Mo Yangchen was leading a demon assault on the Nanqin Demon Well.
During the battle, Mo Yangchen used the Si family's Vanishing Technique to escape. When questioned, Situ Hong denied any collusion, claiming Mo Yangchen must have stolen the manual during the chaos after his aunt's death. The elders, while holding him accountable for negligence, accepted his explanation and his request to remain at the Si Mansion to mourn and rebuild.
After the haunting was exposed as a man-made hoax, Ji Rong suggested a grand celebration to reward the soldiers, further boosting DongBo Qingshi's ego. He enthusiastically agreed. Simultaneously, Ao Lan and Mo Yangchen used the key to enter Dongbo Lie's tomb, where they located a second Demon Well. Ao Lan revealed their true plan: to combine the power of the rare source stone with Chi Qiubai's immense strength to shatter the well's barrier and release the Great Demon God.
Horrified, Chi Qiubai refused to betray the Xia Clan. Ao Lan threatened him with the excruciating Soul Scouring Nail, but Chi Qiubai remained defiant. During the prolonged celebration in Xueying Territory, Zong Ling felt a tremor and grew uneasy. DongBo Qingshi, influenced by Ji Rong, dismissed his concerns. Despite this, Zong Ling decided to investigate on his own.
Back in Nanqin, DongBo Xueying's Hexagonal Sword suddenly appeared before him, alerting him that his master was in grave danger in Xueying Territory. He urgently pleaded with the elders to accompany him, but they were hesitant, fearing it was a demonic ploy to lure them away from the still-threatened Nanqin Demon Well. Frustrated by their debate, DongBo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, and their friends decided they could not wait and set off for Xueying Territory alone.
Episode 22 Recap
An ominous celestial phenomenon signals that the Demon Well has been opened, a sight last seen during a major conflict years ago. Zong Ling identifies this event, explaining to DongBo Qingshi that the long-held secret of Xueying Territory's weak barrier, which connects the Divine and Demon Realms, has been discovered by the Demon Clan. Ao Lan openly gloats to Chi Qiubai, stating that the Demon Clan's plan, including the awakening of the Great Demon God's physical body, is succeeding.
He tells Chi Qiubai he should be thankful he chose the winning side, but Chi Qiubai vows to prevent their victory. As a strong light pillar emanates from Xueying Territory, the Xia Clan elders are alarmed. One elder, though weakened by demonic poison, resolves to stop the Demon God Association's plan at any cost to protect the Dragon Mountain Empire. As the Great Demon God's physical body is welcomed, demons pour out, and a fierce battle erupts in Xueying Territory.
DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu join the desperate fight against the endless stream of demons. Ji Rong feigns helplessness, apologizing to DongBo Qingshi for being a burden, but Qingshi promises to protect her. In the chaos, Yu Jingqiu is momentarily distracted by visions of her mother and is attacked by a demon, but Kong Youyue intervenes to save her.
Facing overwhelming odds, Palace Master Taishu sacrifices himself to close the Demon Well and perish with the demons, igniting renewed determination among the remaining fighters. Master He then swiftly erects the powerful Black White Moon Barrier around Xueying Territory, trapping the demonic forces within. DongBo Xueying pursues Ao Lan, who attempts to escape with a bronze coffin, but Ao Lan manages to evade him.
Within the sealed territory, Ji Rong has secretly hidden Ao Lan and the bronze coffin in a cellar. Trapped by the barrier, Ao Lan is frustrated and wants to fight his way out. Ji Rong reminds him of the danger and the vital importance of the bronze coffin, which holds their Master's physical body. To avoid suspicion, Ji Rong brings Ao Lan raw wolf meat to eat while in hiding.
They agree that they need outside help to break the barrier and decide to send a message using demon smoke. Ji Rong proposes a plan to weaken Master He, creating a temporary gap in the barrier for the message to pass through. While Chi Qiubai is in his room trying to expel demonic poison, Tong San patrols near Ji Rong's room and detects a demonic scent. He overhears Ji Rong and Ao Lan discussing their plot.
Before Tong San can warn anyone, Ao Lan incapacitates him with a Black Curse Spell. Ji Rong stops Ao Lan from killing Tong San immediately, arguing that his sudden death would arouse suspicion, though she notes the curse will eventually kill him. Ao Lan then uses a disguise ability to impersonate Tong San, privately worrying that the transformation has a limited duration. When DongBo Qingshi asks Ji Rong about Tong San's whereabouts, she feigns ignorance.
Later, Zong Ling observes the disguised Ao Lan eating raw wolf meat late at night and finds his behavior strange. The disguised Ao Lan then brings a drugged calming soup to Master He, who drinks it and immediately feels dizzy. Seizing the opportunity, Ao Lan sends a message via demon smoke to Moyang Chen outside the barrier, instructing him to break it and retrieve the priceless bronze coffin.
Unable to break the barrier alone, Moyang Chen seeks out Situ Hong at the Si Mansion. Knowing Situ Hong is discontent with his inability to reach the Transcendent level, Moyang Chen offers him secret manuals in exchange for his help. Moyang Chen admits his own power is insufficient against the Demigod-level Master He and frames the task as an opportunity for Situ Hong to prove his strength.
He manipulates Situ Hong by highlighting the righteous factions' neglect of the Si family's past sacrifices while readily helping DongBo Xueying. Appealing to Situ Hong's desire for power and respect for his declining family, Moyang Chen convinces him to cooperate. Tempted, Situ Hong agrees to the deal. Meanwhile, at Changfeng Academy, Kong Hao gets permission from Master Tan to go home for his father Kong Hai's birthday, unaware of the danger awaiting his family.
At the Kong Mansion, Kong Hai refuses a large celebration, wishing only to save money for his children. His quiet day is interrupted by Moyang Chen's arrival. Kong Hai tries to sever all ties, but Moyang Chen reminds him of the large profits he made selling Bloodshed Weapons to the demons, asserting that he is already deeply implicated. Moyang Chen then threatens the lives of Kong Hao and Kong Yue to force his cooperation.
Just then, Kong Hao arrives home and, upon seeing Moyang Chen, furiously denounces him as a traitor and attacks. Kong Hai frantically tries to stop his son, but Moyang Chen easily deflects the attack and reveals the Kong family's involvement. The family steward, Jia, is killed while trying to protect Kong Hao. Outmatched, Kong Hao is captured and abducted by Moyang Chen, who tells the distraught Kong Hai to consider his options.
Moyang Chen takes the injured Kong Hao to a demon dungeon. When Kong Hao awakens, he furiously curses Moyang Chen as a traitor to the Xia Clan, vowing that his master, Chi Qiubai, will bring him to justice. Moyang Chen scoffs, claiming Chi Qiubai is too preoccupied to save anyone and that he will soon master powerful demonic techniques. Unwavering, Kong Hao declares he will never betray his people. Seeing his defiance, Moyang Chen attempts to corrupt him, offering a demonic secret technique that promises to grant him enough power to surpass even DongBo Xueying.
Episode 23 Recap
In a dark chamber, Mo Yangchen demonstrated demonic techniques to Kong Hao, offering him immense power in exchange for his obedience. Kong Hao staunchly refused, declaring he would never become a lackey for the Demon Clan. As Mo Yangchen grew impatient with his defiance, Situ Hong arrived, drawn by the sounds. He recognized Kong Hao by the unique scent of a sachet made by Kong Youyue.
Situ Hong attempted to free Kong Hao, but Mo Yangchen appeared, questioning his actions and warning that rescuing Kong Hao would expose their alliance and ruin Situ Hong's future. Enraged by this betrayal, Kong Hao accused Situ Hong of betraying their master. Pressured by Mo Yangchen to kill Kong Hao and secure his own future, Situ Hong initially pleaded for Kong Hao's life, citing his youth and the grief it would cause his sister.
However, Kong Hao called Situ Hong despicable and unworthy of being a Changfeng disciple. This triggered Situ Hong, who vented his frustration about being constantly overlooked in favor of DongBo Xueying. Kong Hao retorted that Situ Hong, a complete loser, could never compare to DongBo Xueying, a Transcendent and the pride of the academy. This final insult drove Situ Hong to kill Kong Hao.
Mo Yangchen praised Situ Hong’s growing power and ruthlessness, promising it would bring him closer to his ambitions. He then took charge of the body, stating it still had its uses. Mo Yangchen presented Kong Hao's body to his father, Kong Hai. He claimed Kong Hao was not dead but would perish from internal injuries within hours unless treated with a special technique.
Using the lives of both Kong Hao and his daughter Kong Youyue as leverage, Mo Yangchen blackmailed Kong Hai, a prosperous weapon smith, into cooperating. Terrified, Kong Hai agreed to use his family's resources to help transport the bronze coffin. At Snow Stone Fort, the elders mourned Master Tai Shu and discussed their failure to locate Ao Lan and the bronze coffin, resolving to remain within the protection of the Black White Moon barrier.
Xi Yun, believing he was speaking to Tong San, acquired food and wine to share with Master He. The meal was drugged, and both men quickly fell into a deep sleep. Seizing the opportunity, Mo Yangchen and Situ Hong performed a ritual to break the Black White Moon barrier.
As Situ Hong grappled with his conscience over his betrayals, Mo Yangchen outlined their plan: the barrier breach would distract the elders, allowing Kong Hai to transport the coffin by land, hidden among his usual weapon shipments. Alerted by her meditation vision, Kong Youyue saw her father with Mo Yangchen and a figure she thought was Tong San transporting the coffin. She rushed to confront them, but her father desperately tried to send her away.
The figure with them then revealed his true form as Ao Lan. As Kong Hai shielded his daughter, Mo Yangchen killed him, remarking that it was as easy as killing his son. With his dying words, Kong Hai apologized for failing to protect his children. As a grief-stricken Kong Youyue vowed revenge, Pu Yangbo arrived and forcibly carried her away, knowing they were no match for Mo Yangchen and Ao Lan.
He returned to Snow Stone Fort, announcing that the barrier was broken and the coffin was gone. Meanwhile, Bai Yuanzhi attempted to intercept Ao Lan, but a flare-up of his demonic poison incapacitated him. Just as Ao Lan's party was leaving, Ji Rong appeared. Bai Yuanzhi urged her to retrieve the coffin, but she refused, prioritizing his life.
Seeing his poisoned hand, she began absorbing the demonic poison into her own body despite his protests, insisting she owed him her life. Back at the fort, Xi Yun and Master He were awakened and realized they had been poisoned. Kong Youyue recounted what she had witnessed, accusing the disguised Ao Lan of killing her father.
At the same time, the real Tong San, gravely injured, used his last strength to break out of a magical confinement in a room and collapsed. DongBo Xueying and DongBo Qingshi found him, but he died in their arms. Zong Ling speculated that Tong San was silenced by Ao Lan after discovering their plan. An argument broke out between DongBo Qingshi and Master He over the security failure.
Qingshi then recalled seeing Tong San in Ji Rong's room days earlier, which piqued Zong Ling's suspicion. However, Qingshi vehemently defended Ji Rong's kindness and resolved to find her at Bai Yuanzhi's residence to clear her name. At the Demon God Association, their master praised Ao Lan and Mo Yangchen for retrieving the coffin, declaring that the conditions for his reawakening were met. The next step was to open the coffin by killing the six elders who had sealed it.
Back at the fort, Master He deduced that his traitorous former disciple, Mo Yangchen, was responsible for breaking the barrier. He then received a telepathic taunt from Mo Yangchen. The elders understood the Demon Clan’s goal was to resurrect the Great Demon God and resolved to reunite the original six elders, including the absent Ye Mei, to stop them. DongBo Qingshi found Ji Rong tending to Bai Yuanzhi and accused her of colluding with the demons.
Ji Rong tearfully fabricated a story, claiming she had discovered Ao Lan and Mo Yangchen, fought them, and was injured before being rescued by Bai Yuanzhi. Bai Yuanzhi corroborated her lie, claiming he found her fighting the demons alone. Consumed by guilt, Qingshi apologized profusely and swore he would never doubt her again.
Episode 24 Recap
DongBo Xueying finds his master, Chi Qiubai, severely injured and suffering from the poison of the Soul Scouring Nail. Xueying reveals his desire to enter the Xinhuo Palace for two reasons: to learn advanced skills to rescue his mother, and to investigate his suspicion that a Demon Clan spy operates within the palace, which houses the Elder Council. He considers rooting out this spy his personal mission.
Chi Qiubai explains that the normal entry method, the Hundred-Battle Chamber, is too difficult for a new Transcendent. He suggests another path: convince the reclusive Elder Ye Mei to rejoin the Elder Council. Chi Qiubai elaborates that the bronze coffin containing the Great Demon God was sealed by six Elders whose life forces are tied to six soul lamps. To unseal it, the Demon Clan must extinguish these lamps by targeting the Elders.
With two of the original six, Bu Xiaoxi and Ye Mei, unavailable, the Xia Clan is vulnerable. Ye Mei has lived in solitude since her beloved, Hero Shan, the Bloodshed God Emperor, died on a mission against the Demon Clan. Chi Qiubai believes that if Xueying can persuade her to return, the Elders might grant him entry into Xinhuo Palace as a reward.
DongBo Xueying presents his proposal to the Elder Council, arguing for Ye Mei's return to unify their strength against the demons. The Elders are skeptical of anyone persuading the stubborn Ye Mei, and Master He scoffs at Xueying's chances. Xueying offers a condition: he will attempt to bring Ye Mei back, and if he succeeds, he asks for admission into Xinhuo Palace.
While some object to breaking the rules, Elder Chunyuan and others argue that in these desperate times, they must cultivate new talent and that Ye Mei's return would be a contribution worthy of an exception. Master He agrees to the terms. DongBo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, Pu Yangbo, and Kong Youyue travel to find the Bloodshed Tavern, hidden deep within a bamboo forest.
Lost in the mist, they encounter an old woman who, after questioning their direct approach, points them toward the tavern. At the tavern, a manager states that the master does not see guests directly, but concedes that their ability to find the tavern implies the master's tacit permission. Realizing the old woman must have been Ye Mei in disguise, Xueying plays a melody on a bamboo leaf, a tune he learned from Master Sikong was her favorite.
Ye Mei appears in her true form, drawn by the music. She initially resists their plea to return, accusing the Elders of manipulation. A flashback reveals her past with Hero Shan and how his death led her to leave the Xinhuo Palace and live in isolation. Xueying stresses the current danger from the Demon Clan, but she remains defiant until memory bubbles left by Hero Shan appear, revealing his final, loving messages.
Moved by his sacrifice, she agrees to return to the Xinhuo Palace, reminding the Elders of their promise to admit Xueying. Before parting ways, DongBo Xueying gives gifts to his friends. As Yu Jingqiu has no gift for him, he takes her hairpin as a keepsake. He reassures a sad Jingqiu, reminding her of when she saved him at Black Wind Cliff, which inspired him to want to protect her for life.
Ye Mei arrives with a token, confirming the Elders have honored their deal. The group decides on their separate paths: Jingqiu will go to Dragon Mountain Mansion to seek clues about her parents, the Demon God Association, and the coffin; Kong Youyue will return to Changfeng Academy to train and avenge her family, accompanied by Pu Yangbo.
At the Xinhuo Palace, Gong Yu welcomes DongBo Xueying and introduces him to the other disciples, who are audibly displeased that he entered without passing the Hundred-Battle Chamber trial. Gong Yu explains that resources are allocated based on strength and assigns a cold senior disciple, Lan Sha, to show Xueying his residence. Xueying is assigned the Fifth Bamboo Building and is amazed by the precious cultivation resources within, like Dragon's Blood.
He resolves to investigate the palace to find the masked person he seeks. Meanwhile, Chi Qiubai uses a tracking technique tied to a sword left on the bronze coffin, which leads him to Qutai City, where he suspects a Demon Clan branch is hidden. He is being watched by demons.
Ao Lan suggests killing him, but a Demon God overrules her, stating Chi Qiubai is a valuable asset they can control through the imprisoned Bu Xiaoxi and the Soul Scouring Nail in his body. The Demon God impatiently orders his followers to kill the other Elders, unseal the coffin, and prepare Xueying Territory as a future battlefield. The demon Ji Rong is commanded to use a device to kill all civilians in Xueying Territory.
Her master, Bai Yuanzhi, notices her distress and advises her that it is never too late to correct one's mistakes. In the Xinhuo Palace, DongBo Xueying observes senior disciple Wu Cang acting suspiciously in the bamboo forest. Xueying confronts him and brings him before Elders Xi Yun and Master He. Wu Cang claims he was just practicing his unique cultivation method, and the Elders quickly dismiss the incident as a misunderstanding, ordering Xueying to release him. Puzzled by their apparent cover-up, Xueying returns to the spot where he saw Wu Cang and discovers fresh blood on the ground.
Episode 25 Recap
DongBo Xueying observed Wu Cang, noting his solitary nature and strange, silent demeanor. He was particularly ruthless during practice sessions, never holding back against fellow disciples. After witnessing Wu Cang poison Yu Feng, DongBo Xueying confronted him. Senior Zhuo Yi intervened, trading two bottles of bee venom for the antidote to save Yu Feng. Later, during a meal, DongBo Xueying kindly offered Yu Feng some cooked food to aid his healing.
This act again drew a challenge from Wu Cang, who attempted to poison DongBo Xueying. However, DongBo Xueying countered, revealing he had already secretly taken the antidote from Wu Cang during an earlier commotion, thwarting the attack. During this confrontation, DongBo Xueying noticed that Wu Cang possessed a blue crystal ball identical to the one dropped by the masked man.
He initially thought it might be common among Xinhuo Palace disciples, but Yu Feng and Zhuo Yi were completely unaware of such items. Pondering this, DongBo Xueying found Wu Cang outside his residence in the fourth row of bamboo buildings, intentionally letting venomous bugs bite him. DongBo Xueying realized Wu Cang was using repeated near-death experiences and pain to comprehend the Esoteric Demise, aiming to achieve a form of indestructibility.
That night, DongBo Xueying followed Wu Cang and saw him dig up corpse bugs from a grave, which attracted demons. DongBo Xueying stepped in and drove the demons away, unknowingly disrupting a plan by Elder He and Wu Cang to use the bugs' scent to track the demons to their lair. Furious, Elder He ordered DongBo Xueying imprisoned in the Glacier Prison, a place few disciples could survive due to its extreme cold and magic restraint.
Worried, Zhuo Yi and Yu Feng confronted Wu Cang, criticizing his indifference. Moved by their words and DongBo Xueying's earlier actions, Wu Cang personally requested that Elder He release him. In the prison, Wu Cang explained to DongBo Xueying that his family had died in a war twenty years ago, leading him to cultivate the Esoteric Demise alone. This path had left him isolated, aged him prematurely, and disfigured his appearance.
DongBo Xueying genuinely offered his friendship and voiced his opposition to Xinhuo Palace's method of using disciples as bait, arguing there must be a safer way. Touched by his sincerity, Wu Cang revealed that the blue crystal ball was a message box used exclusively by the six Elders; he had been given one temporarily for the mission.
Realizing the masked man also had one, DongBo Xueying suspected the spy was one of the six Elders and that the Demon Clan knew all their plans. He asked for Wu Cang's help to identify the traitor, and Wu Cang agreed. To draw out the Elders and observe their message boxes, DongBo Xueying staged a public fight with Wu Cang. However, Master Gong arrived instead.
Seeing DongBo Xueying use Esoteric Gust in addition to his Esoteric Water and Fire, Master Gong criticized him for dividing his focus. He argued that while DongBo Xueying had the potential to reach the Demigod realm by focusing on Water and Fire alone, adding a third Esoteric Truth was a reckless path to a dead end.
DongBo Xueying countered that the rigid paths prescribed by Xinhuo Palace might not suit everyone and condemned the practice of treating disciples like expendable sacrifices. Angered, Master Gong challenged him. To everyone's astonishment, DongBo Xueying successfully fused Esoteric Gust, Water, and Fire in his spear technique, manifesting a second-grade True Meaning he named the True Meaning of Pole Point.
Defeated, Master Gong conceded that his own understanding was limited and that exploring untried paths could lead to unprecedented power, acknowledging DongBo Xueying's potential to dominate an era. Separately, Yu Jingqiu, Pu Yangbo, and Kong Youyue bid farewell to their master, Chi Qiubai. Yu Jingqiu announced her intention to join the Dragon Mountain Mansion to find clues about her parents and help locate the Demon God Association.
Pu Yangbo decided to follow Kong Youyue, who planned to find a powerful new master to avenge her family. Chi Qiubai advised Pu Yangbo to seek out Elder He of Black White Deity Mountain. Meanwhile, Elder He, lamenting not having recruited DongBo Xueying, learned that Pu Yangbo was his close friend. Believing anyone associated with such a genius must be exceptional, he accepted Pu Yangbo without a test and offered him enhanced benefits.
At the Bai Residence, Ji Rong feigned a distressing dream about Zong Ling to convince DongBo Qingshi to return to Xueying Territory, thus preventing him from searching for the Demon God Association. As they prepared to leave, Bai Yuanzhi stopped them and pointedly warned Ji Rong not to continue down the wrong path, showing he saw through her deceit. Later, Ji Rong was seen practicing a demonic technique as an unseen voice praised her progress. Her next task was to break through the Hundred-Battle Chamber to infiltrate Xinhuo Palace.
Episode 26 Recap
Seeking permission from two Elders, Situ Hong declared his intention to challenge the Hundred-Battle Chamber. The Elders explained that the chamber, renowned among Transcendents, housed Five Elements Alchemists with peak flying strength who could cooperate perfectly. They warned that over ninety percent of Transcendents failed the challenge and attempting it without full confidence was life-threatening.
Sikong Yang expressed strong reservations, noting that Situ Hong had not yet reached the Transcendent level and that the challenge was suicidal, deeming him a promising knight too valuable to risk. However, Xi Yun of the Temple of the Earth God argued for giving Situ Hong an equal opportunity, citing DongBo Xueying's previous chance and the pressing need for talent due to the imminent threat from the Demon Clan.
Xi Yun promised that if Situ Hong succeeded, he would gain direct entry into Xinhuo Palace and an invitation to join the Temple of the Earth God. Sikong Yang conceded but insisted on a strength test first: Situ Hong had to open the chamber's gate to proceed. Situ Hong accepted and later secretly enlisted fellow disciples to help him pass the test.
Aided by them and a power-enhancing substance from Mo Yangchen, he successfully broke through the Five Elements Array in the Hundred-Battle Chamber, but sustained severe injuries in the process. A pharmacist, brought by Xi Yun, examined the severely wounded Situ Hong, noting a chaotic pulse but no other physical abnormalities. Sikong Yang remained suspicious, questioning how a non-Transcendent could exhibit such immense power to not only pass but also damage the chamber.
Xi Yun downplayed the suspicion, suggesting that after DongBo Xueying’s recent feats, such an achievement was less surprising, and proposed waiting for Situ Hong's full recovery before further assessment. Despite his injuries, Situ Hong emerged and requested entry into Xinhuo Palace. Praising his courage and strength, Xi Yun formally invited him to join the Temple of the Earth God, which Situ Hong accepted, officially becoming a disciple set to train in Xinhuo Palace.
In Xinhuo Palace, Yu Jingqiu and Chi Qiubai visited DongBo Xueying. DongBo Xueying admitted he had no leads on the spy, and Chi Qiubai advised him to be patient. DongBo Xueying then confided in Chi Qiubai about his discomfort with Xinhuo Palace's competitive training method, believing clan members should unite against external threats rather than grow through internal conflict.
Chi Qiubai explained the Elders designed this method to expose disciples to the brutal reality of life-or-death combat, but he also praised DongBo Xueying's kindness and integrity, urging him to protect those qualities as the future of the Xia Clan rested on him. Later, DongBo Xueying privately told Yu Jingqiu he had a plan to find the spy and asked for her help, telling her to await his signal before she left for Dragon Mountain Tower.
At Black White Deity Mountain, Master He was furious with Pu Yangbo. Despite having high expectations, canceling his sect exam, and increasing his resources, Pu Yangbo had lost to four trainers, with escaping as his only tactic. Feeling shamed, especially since Pu Yangbo was DongBo Xueying’s brother, Master He confined him within a barrier, ordering him not to leave until his strength surpassed DongBo Xueying’s. Elsewhere, Ji Rong plotted to return to Xueying Territory.
She first tried to give Bai Yuanzhi food laced with something to trigger his demonic poison, but he was wary and ate little. She then had DongBo Qingshi deliver soup to him, claiming it was a gesture of Qingshi's concern. Bai Yuanzhi drank the soup, and his demonic poison flared violently, forcing him to rush to Black Wind Cliff. The next morning, finding him gone, Ji Rong convinced a hesitant DongBo Qingshi to leave with her for Xueying Territory.
At Xinhuo Palace, disciples buzzed with news of a non-Transcendent passing the Hundred-Battle Chamber. Xi Yun and Sikong Yang arrived with Situ Hong, introducing him as the challenger. When a friendly Yu Feng asked how he did it, Situ Hong arrogantly replied, "Talent plus hard work." His conceited attitude drew scorn from other disciples like Zhuo Yi.
During a review, Sikong Yang praised several disciples, particularly DongBo Xueying for his unprecedented achievement of cultivating three True Meanings (Water, Fire, and Wind). He rewarded DongBo Xueying with permission to copy any book from the library. Immediately after, Xi Yun publicly rebuked Situ Hong for not advancing his own skills, unfavorably comparing him to DongBo Xueying. As punishment, he ordered Situ Hong to the library to copy the Heart Sutra a hundred times.
In the library, a resentful Situ Hong confronted DongBo Xueying, but Lan Sha intervened, warning that a fight could damage the library's books and awaken demonic energy sealed in a secret chamber, which would get them all expelled. Later, Mo Yangchen met Situ Hong secretly, offering to help him become Transcendent in exchange for a favor: killing the six Elders.
When a shocked Situ Hong refused, Mo Yangchen provided him with Sky-Soaring Demon Owls—highly poisonous creatures that only attack non-Demon Clan members. Threatened with the demonic substances he had already consumed and tempted with the promise of power, Situ Hong accepted the task. As he left, he overheard DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu discussing their plan to expose the spy. DongBo Xueying detailed his plan to Yu Jingqiu.
He would lure Lan Sha to the library’s secret chamber while Yu Jingqiu opened the door and created a diversion. This would prompt Lan Sha to use a message box to summon the Elders. By observing which Elder failed to arrive, they could identify the traitor who lacked a message box.
DongBo Xueying warned her not to touch a specific sealed sword on the chamber ceiling, as it restrained a sacred Demon Clan item, and disturbing it would unleash true danger. Yu Jingqiu agreed to help.
Episode 27 Recap
DongBo Xueying, feigning a need to discuss cultivation methods, sought out Senior Lan, who was secretly Yu Jingqiu in disguise. During their conversation, Yu Jingqiu sensed an intruder, speculating it might be the Demon Clan, and they agreed to investigate. Determined to help DongBo Xueying expose any spies, Yu Jingqiu went to a secret chamber in the library filled with sealed Demon Clan artifacts, intending to trigger one to cause a disturbance.
However, the artifacts reacted intensely to her presence, causing her a severe headache and triggering visions of her parents fighting demons. Situ Hong, who had been secretly following her, witnessed her collapse. He was about to reveal himself when DongBo Xueying arrived, forcing him back into hiding. As DongBo Xueying attended to Yu Jingqiu, Situ Hong deliberately struck the artifacts, unleashing their demonic power. The real Senior Lan alerted the Elders.
As demonic energy and Demon Owls filled the chamber, a protective storage treasure from DongBo Xueying's mother activated. DongBo Xueying noticed the owls seemed to avoid attacking him specifically. The six Elders arrived to contain the chaos, and DongBo Xueying noted that with all of them present, it was impossible to know who might have tampered with his message box.
Amid the turmoil, a pained Yu Jingqiu expressed a wish to return to the peace of Black Wind Cliff, and DongBo Xueying promised to take her there. As the fight intensified, a hairpin fell from Yu Jingqiu and transformed into a white-haired woman. She swiftly helped subdue the demonic forces and reseal the artifacts. She introduced herself as Xue Ruoshuang, the spirit of a hairpin belonging to Monarch Moxue.
She revealed that Yu Jingqiu was the Monarch's daughter and their Young Mistress. Xue Ruoshuang recounted how the Monarch and his wife had died helping the Xia Clan fight the Demon Clan. While protecting the young Yu Jingqiu, she was forced to seal the child's divine bloodline and erase her memories for safety, leaving her at the Water Daoist Temple.
Severely wounded, Xue Ruoshuang reverted to her hairpin form and was mistakenly sealed in the chamber as a demonic artifact, unable to escape until Yu Jingqiu's life was in peril. Master Sikong Yang offered them residence at the Qiuxuan Court to recover. Afterward, DongBo Xueying returned to his room to find his message box had been stolen. Meanwhile, Ji Rong returned to Xueying Territory with DongBo Qingshi.
That night, a suspicious Zong Ling observed her scouting the city walls, planning to install demonic energy devices to fulfill her mission for the Demon Clan. At Qiuxuan Court, Yu Jingqiu awoke with some of her memories restored, recognizing Xue Ruoshuang as "Snow Granny" from her childhood. Xue Ruoshuang explained that Yu Jingqiu's divine power was returning and that they must prepare to go back to the Moxue Empire, which was now her responsibility.
Their stay was interrupted by Elders Ye Mei and He, who feigned an apology while secretly using a Demon Chasing Talisman to test Xue Ruoshuang. Enraged, Xue Ruoshuang was only calmed by Yu Jingqiu's and Master Sikong's intervention. Sikong Yang pleaded with them to stay and help fight their common enemy, but Xue Ruoshuang coldly stated the Xia Clan's war was not their concern, refusing to risk Yu Jingqiu after her parents' sacrifice.
Later, as Yu Jingqiu worried about a deepening snowflake mark on her shoulder, DongBo Xueying climbed through her window, explaining that Xue Ruoshuang was guarding the door. He brought her favorite pear flower cakes and apologized for endangering her. They discussed the investigation, noting that his message box was stolen while he was away, foiling their plan. In a subsequent and more heated encounter, DongBo Xueying confronted Yu Jingqiu about her plans to leave for the Moxue Empire.
Hurt that she might leave without a word, he argued with her. A tearful Yu Jingqiu confessed her inner conflict, torn between her duty to her homeland and her desire to stay with him, wishing she had never recovered her painful memories. Xue Ruoshuang entered, telling DongBo Xueying to leave and never return, stating she disliked him because he only brought her mistress sorrow. In the Demon Clan's lair, the Demon God was informed of Yu Jingqiu's identity.
While the warrior Ao Lan argued for killing her immediately, the High Priest proposed a different plan: to control her. He argued that an awakened and obedient Yu Jingqiu would be the perfect weapon against the six Elders. The Demon God agreed, assigning the task to him. The High Priest, through Mo Yangchen, ordered Situ Hong to make Yu Jingqiu drink a spiritual liquid infused with demonized crystals.
Situ Hong realized the powerful figure he had sensed in the secret chamber was the High Priest, who now controlled his fate. Tormented by the order, he later brought a gift of wine for Xue Ruoshuang but fled abruptly, unable to go through with his mission yet.
Episode 28 Recap
Observing DongBo Xueying practicing his spear moves with fierce energy but no structure, Wu Cang and Yu Feng grew concerned. Wu Cang noted that DongBo Xueying's mind was in chaos and urged him to follow his heart to avoid future regrets. He argued that while taking a path known to be a dead end is foolish, not taking it when it means a lifetime of regret might be the right choice.
Inspired, DongBo Xueying, now resolved, told a confused Yu Feng that when one hesitates about doing something, the decision has already been made in their heart. Following this, DongBo Xueying had Yu Feng create a diversion for Xue Ruoshuang, allowing him to take Yu Jingqiu to the back mountain. There, he had built a treehouse identical to the one they shared under Black Wind Cliff and prepared grilled fish for her.
He explained his desire to create lasting, beautiful memories for her before she returned to the Moxue Empire. Deeply touched, Yu Jingqiu declared she would never forget him and even suggested not returning, but DongBo Xueying reminded her that going home is a cause for celebration. DongBo Xueying then voiced his regret for not rescuing his mother, Moyang Yu, sooner.
Yu Jingqiu offered a different perspective, reasoning that with Moyang Yu's Ancient Bloodline and former status as a supreme expert, it was unlikely she was being controlled by Moyang Chen, who wasn't even a Transcendent. She suggested Moyang Yu might be staying voluntarily, possibly aware of Moyang Chen's collusion with the Demon Clan and biding her time. This insight enlightened DongBo Xueying. He then gifted Yu Jingqiu a hairpin he had made, explaining it was a special device.
He instructed her to knock on it three times if she was ever in danger, and he would sense it and come to her aid, as he worried for her safety now that her identity as a goddess would likely become known to the Demon Clan. Meanwhile, Xue Ruoshuang discovered Yu Feng's deception and furiously attacked him. Sikong Yang arrived just in time to intervene.
Xue Ruoshuang vented her frustration, disapproving of the relationship between DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu, a goddess of the Divine Realm. Sikong Yang countered that he had found Yu Jingqiu at the gates of Water Daoist Temple without knowing her true identity and that she had lived her entire life in the human world.
He argued that making decisions for her was cruel and that their deep feelings for each other had developed over time, so they needed a chance to adapt if they were to be separated. In The Council, Chi Qiubai reported that he had lost the trail of the bronze coffin.
He explained that his airflow-tracking spell couldn't be created while the coffin was in Xueying Territory due to the Black White Moon barrier, and by the time he could cast it, the Demon Clan had likely discovered the trace and transported the coffin back to the Demon God Association. Ye Mei sharply criticized him and the other elders for their failures. After a tense exchange, the focus shifted to locating the coffin and the association.
Ye Mei departed, sarcastically noting their primary concern seemed to be their own safety. Nearby, Ji Rong was setting up a demonic device when she was discovered by Bai Yuanzhi. Furious at her betrayal, Bai Yuanzhi tried to stop her but was ambushed and knocked unconscious. When DongBo Qingshi and Zong Ling arrived, Ji Rong lied, claiming Bai Yuanzhi had been injured by demons while protecting her. Believing her, Zong Ling sent for Sikong Yang to treat his injuries.
Desperate to avenge her family, Kong Youyue wanted to enter Xinhuo Palace but knew her cultivation was too low. DongBo Xueying took her to Sikong Yang, where they overheard him telling Chi Qiubai that his tracking spell last detected the bronze coffin near Lu's Fort. Kong Youyue burst in and pleaded to be sent to find the Demon God Association. Sikong Yang sternly dismissed her, threatening to disown her as a disciple if she revealed what she had heard.
Heartbroken, Kong Youyue argued with DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu, feeling they couldn't understand her pain because their families were still alive. Despite their attempts to calm her, she left, determined to take matters into her own hands. That night, Kong Youyue used her own heart blood to lure out demons, mimicking a technique Wu Cang had used. To her horror, her demonized father and brother appeared, now mindless, monstrous beings.
Before they could attack her, Ye Mei arrived and swiftly killed them. Devastated, Kong Youyue lashed out, vowing to kill Ye Mei for murdering her family. Ye Mei retorted that without her intervention, Kong Youyue would have been torn to pieces and turned into a monster herself. DongBo Xueying took the grieving Kong Youyue away. Resolved to gain strength, Kong Youyue went to Bloodshed Tavern and asked to become Ye Mei's disciple.
Ye Mei agreed on one condition: she must kill the infamous Lengqiong Eight Eagles. Kong Youyue found the bandits, but hesitated when villagers, including the elderly and children, pleaded for their lives, calling the bandits their saviors. Upon returning, Ye Mei chastised Kong Youyue for her naivety, explaining that appearances are deceiving and that ignorant sympathy had led to many deaths at the hands of disguised demons in the past.
Disguising herself, Kong Youyue returned and overheard the Lengqiong Eight Eagles boasting about murdering their former leader and using the villagers as shields. Realizing their wickedness, she killed them all without hesitation. Reporting back to Ye Mei, Kong Youyue was given a second, shocking condition: kill Sikong Yang and bring back his arm.
Ye Mei claimed to have proof that Sikong Yang was a Demon Clan spy, alleging he was the one who gave the intelligence that led Hero Shan to his death in the Dark Abyss, and that the evidence was on his arm. DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu refused to believe it but agreed to investigate. Under the pretense of seeking cultivation advice, the trio visited Sikong Yang.
Yu Jingqiu cooked a feast and used a potent wine she had developed as a child to get him drunk. Once he was asleep, she checked his arm but found no demonic mark, to her relief. Kong Youyue remained suspicious, arguing that demons were cunning and could hide such things. DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu promised a thorough investigation, vowing to enact justice if he was truly a spy.
Kong Youyue agreed to stay at Water Daoist Temple to watch him. After they left, Sikong Yang awoke, and a demonic pattern slowly materialized on his arm. Elsewhere, a student endured grueling training, forced by his master to extinguish a field of magically relighting candles. The master preached that the heart must be faster than the mind, the mind faster than the feet, and the feet faster than sight. When the exhausted student begged for a break to eat, the master refused, locking him in until the training was complete.
Episode 29 Recap
Sikong Yang reflected that if he hadn't forced out the Soporific Sap and suppressed his pulse, he would likely have been exposed. Meanwhile, He, the master of Black White Deity Mountain, expressed frustration to Sikong Yang that his new disciple, Puyang Bo, was making no progress. He compared Puyang Bo unfavorably to his friend Dongbo Xueying, questioning the saying "like seeks like" and describing Puyang Bo as lazy, unmotivated, and easily distracted by food.
Sikong Yang suggested letting Puyang Bo go, but He refused, concerned about his reputation as a master. Later that night, Puyang Bo successfully broke He's formation. He observed this with satisfaction, noting that Puyang Bo possessed some skill and his kung fu seemed to have improved. Puyang Bo then rushed to Dongbo Xueying to complain about the grueling training, feeling unsuitable for the intensive cultivation at Black White Deity Mountain. Master He arrived unexpectedly, having tracked Puyang Bo down.
He questioned why Puyang Bo had left the mountain to chat instead of training diligently. Dongbo Xueying intervened, asking if Puyang Bo could stay at Xinhuo Palace for a few days to train with him. He agreed, and Dongbo Xueying began training Puyang Bo intensely, leaving him exhausted. While they were training, Situ Hong watched them. Shortly after, Kong Youyue urgently sought out Dongbo Xueying, revealing her suspicion about Sikong Yang.
She explained that he visited Xueying Territory every three days to heal Bai Yuanzhi. She admitted she discovered this by chance while pretending to visit. When questioned, Sikong Yang claimed Bai Yuanzhi was injured while stopping the Demon Clan from stealing the bronze coffin. However, Kong Youyue felt the explanation was insufficient, noting that the Demon Well and the bronze coffin had both appeared in Xueying Territory.
She believed Bai Yuanzhi and Sikong Yang were highly suspicious and urged Dongbo Xueying to investigate. Elsewhere, Mo Yangchen appeared before Situ Hong, who was suffering the effects of practicing demonic techniques. Mo Yangchen warned him that he must obey orders or his qi channels would be destroyed without the Demon Clan's secret techniques. Frustrated by Situ Hong's slow progress, Mo Yangchen demanded he confirm if Yu Jingqiu was the key to unlocking the bronze coffin within three days.
Later, Situ Hong confessed his feelings to Yu Jingqiu but was gently rejected, as her heart belonged to Dongbo Xueying. Hurt by the rejection, Situ Hong's resolve to betray her solidified. Mo Yangchen gave him a demonized crystal containing spiritual liquid, instructing him to make Yu Jingqiu drink it.
Dongbo Xueying returned to Snow Stone Fort and spoke with Zong Ling, who recounted seeing Ji Rong near the old lord's tomb on the day Tong San was injured—the same location as the second Demon Well. This deepened Dongbo Xueying's suspicion of her. When Dongbo Qingshi returned, Dongbo Xueying cautiously asked if Ji Rong had been near their father's tomb. Dongbo Qingshi became defensive, asking why his brother suspected Ji Rong instead of Sikong Yang, who also visited frequently.
He passionately defended Ji Rong, praising her kindness and support, which made Dongbo Xueying realize the depth of his brother's trust in her. Determined to find answers, Dongbo Xueying and Zong Ling located Ji Rong's gambling-addicted father. Under pressure, he confessed that Ji Rong's mother was a Demon Clan member he had saved and married. When Ji Rong was born, her appearance revealed her half-demon nature.
Fearing his family's wrath, he used the infant Ji Rong to lure her mother close and then killed her in front of his family. Ji Rong, who could remember events from birth, witnessed this and escaped, carrying a deep hatred ever since. Her father was subsequently cast out.
Dongbo Xueying now understood Ji Rong was likely involved with the Demon Clan's activities in Xueying Territory but decided not to tell Dongbo Qingshi the truth yet, fearing he couldn't handle it and wanting to avoid alerting the Demon Clan to a larger investigation. While Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu were discussing the revelation about Ji Rong, they learned Sikong Yang had arrived again. Dongbo Xueying tried to visit Bai Yuanzhi but was stopped by Sikong Yang.
Believing something was amiss, Kong Youyue pushed forward and clashed with Ji Rong, who was also guarding the door. The fight triggered Ji Rong's demonic power. Bai Yuanzhi emerged from the room just in time to block an attack, protecting Ji Rong. He pleaded with the others to spare her, explaining she was his disciple, a tormented half-demon he had saved and was trying to teach how to live as a human.
Sikong Yang allowed Bai Yuanzhi to take her away, and Dongbo Qingshi, moved by her story, followed them. Back at Bai Yuanzhi's residence, Ji Rong declared she hated humans and wanted to be a demon. Bai Yuanzhi insisted she must walk the right path to live openly. Dongbo Qingshi offered his unwavering support to Ji Rong, but she turned away coldly when he mentioned fighting the Demon Clan.
Bai Yuanzhi reflected that the demonic poison in his own body was worsening and that he had a critical mission for the Xia Clan to complete before time ran out. Later, Kong Youyue was caught trying to spy on Sikong Yang. Yu Jingqiu defended her, and Sikong Yang dismissed the incident. To investigate further, Yu Jingqiu brought Sikong Yang soup and noticed dark mist on his arm.
He explained it was demonic poison contracted while healing Bai Yuanzhi, reiterating the story about the bronze coffin. Though this seemed to reduce Sikong Yang's suspiciousness, Dongbo Xueying found it strange that Bai Yuanzhi would hide such a legitimate injury from the Elder Council. Meanwhile, Bai Yuanzhi confined a defiant Ji Rong to her room for reflection, ordering Dongbo Qingshi to guard her.
Elsewhere, Mo Yangchen struck Situ Hong again for his slowness, warning him that the Demon Clan was impatient. Back at Xinhuo Palace, disciples suddenly fell under the control of a demonic technique and began attacking each other. In the chaos, Yu Jingqiu was injured. Seizing the opportunity, Situ Hong rushed to her side under the guise of providing aid and made her drink the demonized spiritual liquid.
As she consumed it, her divine vein awakened, and the Snowflake Mark appeared on her forehead. An observer recognized the mark, stating they had been searching for twenty years and that all secrets would now be revealed.
Episode 30 Recap
Chunyuan discovered that Situ Hong was secretly collaborating with the Demon Clan. As she moved to deal with this betrayal, she was ambushed and severely injured by Sikong Yang. A demon disguised as Xi Yun then arrived, delivering the fatal blow to Chunyuan before she could name the traitors. The fake Xi Yun also ambushed and grievously wounded Master He. Shortly after, others arrived to find Chunyuan dead and realized they had been tricked by the imposter.
Sikong Yang instructed that Master He be taken for immediate healing. Knowing his injuries were fatal, Master He spoke privately with Pu Yangbo. He declared that Pu Yangbo would now have to become the world's strongest and protect the Xia Clan, urging him to have confidence in his own cultivation journey. Master He then made a final request, asking Pu Yangbo to deliver a message if he ever met Moyang Chen.
A flashback revealed Moyang Chen was once Master He's most promising disciple, who secretly practiced demonic arts from a forbidden text, hoping to impress his master. Upon discovering this, Master He concluded that Moyang Chen's potential for righteous cultivation was ruined and, despite his disciple's pleas, expelled him from Black White Deity Mountain. Master He confided in Pu Yangbo that this was his greatest regret, his "heart disease," fearing his harshness pushed Moyang Chen further down the demonic path.
He asked Pu Yangbo to tell Moyang Chen to abandon his ways, as even an ordinary life was better than ruin, and that he would still consider him a disciple if he returned to the righteous path. After Pu Yangbo promised to fulfill this wish, Master He passed away.
At a somber gathering for the fallen elders, Ye Mei confronted Sikong Yang, revealing a secret from the late Hero Shan: the Great Demon God was not fully destroyed but escaped as a remnant that possessed a Xia Clan martial artist, who then orchestrated Hero Shan's death. She declared this traitor was among them and accused Sikong Yang. Citing that the Winter Solstice's extreme cold and peak demonic energy would make a demonic mark impossible to hide, she challenged him.
Feigning an attempt to de-escalate the situation, Xi Yun deliberately pulled up Sikong Yang's sleeve, revealing an arm covered in black demonic lines. Dongbo Xueying tried to defend him, suggesting the mark was a side effect of healing Bai Yuanzhi, but Ye Mei dismissed this, pointing to the undeniable demonic energy. Sikong Yang’s silence was taken as an admission of guilt. Meanwhile, Yu Jingqiu awoke to find her divine bloodline had been activated, which caused her to faint earlier.
Xue Ruoshuang explained that a fragmented Demonic Soul Pill found inside her likely triggered the awakening. Yu Jingqiu recalled Situ Hong giving her a spiritual liquid and suspected he was the one who gave her the pill, realizing some righteous figures may be hiding their true intentions. Xue Ruoshuang then revealed a more urgent problem: the Snowflake Mark had appeared on Yu Jingqiu, causing the recent unseasonal snow.
Unable to remove it, Xue Ruoshuang insisted they return to the Moxue Empire to find a solution. Yu Jingqiu agreed but requested two days to say goodbye to her friends. She sought out Dongbo Xueying, who deflected her questions about Sikong Yang’s condition, claiming he was in seclusion to heal. Yu Jingqiu asked Dongbo Xueying to pass on messages of concern to him.
They shared a farewell meal of grilled fish at the spot where they first met, lamenting their impending separation. Dongbo Xueying promised he would find a way to remove the Snowflake Mark and that they would meet again. Concurrently, Bai Yuanzhi, who had been searching for the Snowflake Mark for over twenty years after failing to destroy it, sensed its re-emergence.
He realized the mark seeks the host with the greatest spiritual power and had attached itself to Yu Jingqiu upon her divine bloodline's awakening. In the demonic realm, the Demon King was overjoyed, as the Snowflake Mark was the key to unlocking the bronze coffin sealing his physical body. He ordered his followers to capture Yu Jingqiu at all costs.
Bai Yuanzhi, understanding that the mark falling into demon hands would doom the Xia Clan, resolved to destroy it while it was still maturing inside Yu Jingqiu—the action he failed to take two decades ago. As Yu Jingqiu prepared to leave, Bai Yuanzhi and other elders arrived. He declared her a threat, explaining that the Snowflake Mark she hosted was the key to the Demon God’s return and must be eliminated.
Dongbo Xueying immediately stood to defend her, stating his vow to protect her was as important as his duty to protect the world. When Ye Mei forced him to choose between Yu Jingqiu and the Xia Clan, Dongbo Xueying refused to sacrifice an innocent person for the sake of security, vowing to fight anyone who tried to harm her. With Xue Ruoshuang creating a diversion, Dongbo Xueying escaped with Yu Jingqiu.
In hiding, he apologized for not being powerful enough to remove the mark himself, while she felt guilty for putting him in opposition to the elders. They discussed seeking a solution at Changfeng Academy's library but knew they couldn't return. Yu Jingqiu suggested another location with an even larger collection of rare books. To get there, they devised a plan to distract and incapacitate a guard named Si An using a soporific sap.
Episode 31 Recap
DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu went to the library at Dragon Mountain Mansion, seeking a way to remove the Snowflake Mark on Yu Jingqiu. They used a soporific liquid to make the guardian, Si An, fall asleep. However, after a thorough search, they found no information related to removing magical Snowflake Marks. After waking, Si An locked the library doors, trapping them inside, though he remained unaware of their presence.
Meanwhile, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo were searching for the missing pair. At the Water Daoist Temple, they discovered the Demon Clan's Black Mist Swamp, realizing that the demons were using extensive resources to hunt Yu Jingqiu. Aware that both the Demon Clan and the Council of Elders posed a threat, Pu Yangbo recalled mentioning a remote place to Xueying—the Dongyu Tavern, a quiet spot he used for his childhood business ventures. They decided to head there.
Upon reaching the Dongyu Tavern, Pu Yangbo used a secret cuckoo call that DongBo Xueying recognized from their time at Changfeng Academy. Shortly after they reunited, Xue Ruoshuang arrived and urgently insisted that Yu Jingqiu, whom she addressed as "Young Master," return with her to the Moxue Empire. She explained that Jingqiu was now a target for both righteous factions and the Demon Clan.
Yu Jingqiu refused, stating that her awakening divine bloodline offered some protection and that she could not abandon the Xia Clan, which her parents had died to protect. DongBo Xueying and the others vowed to protect her, temporarily appeasing Xue Ruoshuang. The group later learned that Sikong Yang had been imprisoned as a suspected spy. They followed him to a secret chamber and found him with Bai Yuanzhi, who was severely afflicted by a demonic poison.
Sikong Yang explained that Bai Yuanzhi, whose real name was Dugu Ling, was his senior who had been poisoned while protecting him in a past battle. For years, Sikong Yang had been suppressing the poison with his own energy, which caused the black mark on his arm. Bai Yuanzhi, driven by a past failure to destroy the Snowflake Mark, tried to kill Yu Jingqiu upon seeing it in her, but Sikong Yang intervened, arguing that she was innocent.
Having cleared his name with the group, Sikong Yang helped them devise a plan to expose the true spy, whom they now suspected was Elder Xi Yun. DongBo Xueying then presented this plan to the Council of Elders, which included Ye Mei and Xi Yun himself. The plan involved staging a public execution of Sikong Yang and Yu Jingqiu.
They would claim that killing Sikong Yang would force out the Demon God's remnant body, which would then be drawn to Yu Jingqiu's Snowflake Mark, allowing them to eliminate both. Xueying stressed that destroying the remnant body was critical, as the bronze coffin's seal was tied to the elders' lives. Feigning allegiance, Xi Yun agreed to the risky plan along with Ye Mei.
Before the staged execution, the Demon God promised his lieutenants, Ao Lan and High Priest Xi Yun, that they would rule the Dragon Mountain Empire after his resurrection. At the execution ground, Ao Lan led a demon army to seize Yu Jingqiu and her Snowflake Mark, falling into the heroes' trap. DongBo Xueying, Chi Qiubai, and their allies engaged the demon forces. Xi Yun found himself caught in a formation secretly prepared by Xueying.
His identity as the spy exposed, Xi Yun dropped his pretense and used the Demon God's power to break the barrier. The battle resulted in heavy losses for the Demon Clan, and the injured Ao Lan and Xi Yun were forced to escape by opening a portal to the Void Realm. With the spy now exposed, DongBo Xueying focused on his cultivation.
Guided by Chi Qiubai, he learned that Lu's Fort, where Xi Yun had vanished, was likely an entrance to the Void Realm—a parallel dimension inaccessible to even the most powerful warriors. Chi Qiubai believed the Demon God Association's headquarters was hidden there and that only mastering the True Meaning of Void Realm could grant access.
Practicing the Space Split technique with his brother's staff, Xueying speculated that he needed to fuse a fourth True Meaning with his existing three to achieve this. Meanwhile, Yu Jingqiu found herself growing progressively weaker, especially when near DongBo Xueying. The cause was revealed after Xue Ruoshuang witnessed Jingqiu transferring her own divine energy to help the dizzy Xueying.
Realizing Xueying was the son of Moyang Yu, Xue Ruoshuang explained that his awakening Ancient Bloodline was in direct conflict with Jingqiu's divine bloodline. His intense training was causing his dormant power to awaken by consuming and draining Jingqiu's. Xue Ruoshuang warned that if his bloodline fully awakened, they could never be together.
However, unwilling to be a burden, Yu Jingqiu resolved that Xueying must awaken his power to save his mother and defeat the Demon God, even if it meant sacrificing their future together.
Episode 32 Recap
Their master advises them that cultivating True Meanings requires personal comprehension and that the True Meaning of Void Realm is especially difficult, suggesting they focus on disciplines they are better suited for. Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo struggle with their attempts, with Youyue finding the water she tries to control has a will of its own, and Puyang Bo lamenting their limited aptitude.
At the behest of Moyang Chen, Xi Yun confronts Situ Hong, demanding he capture Yu Jingqiu for the Demon Clan. Situ Hong hesitates, claiming he is no match for her, but Xi Yun accuses him of being merely reluctant. Xi Yun then threatens that if Situ Hong disobeys, his demonic and righteous techniques will clash, depleting his power and causing immense agony within three days. Coerced, Situ Hong agrees to try.
Meanwhile, Bai Yuanzhi lures Yu Jingqiu to the secluded Black Wind Cliff under the pretense of transferring the dangerous Snowflake Mark from her to himself. His true plan, however, is to kill her if the transfer fails, believing it necessary for the safety of the Xia Clan. Before he can act, Situ Hong intervenes, rescuing the weakened Yu Jingqiu. He takes her to his late aunt's vacant house to recover.
Grateful, and not wanting to worry Dongbo Xueying in her weakened state, she accepts his offer of refuge. Unbeknownst to Yu Jingqiu, Situ Hong immediately reports her location to the Demon God Association. As Yu Jingqiu had hoped, Ao Lan arrives to capture her. Intending to locate the enemy's headquarters, she deliberately puts up little resistance. Once inside the base, she hears Xi Yun's voice and recognizes she is at the Demon God Association's headquarters.
Remembering Dongbo Xueying's training, she uses her hairpin to send him a signal. Dongbo Xueying becomes frantic when he cannot find Yu Jingqiu. Bai Yuanzhi confesses to taking her to Black Wind Cliff but lies that she was abducted by a mysterious figure with a demonic claw. Just then, Xueying receives and deciphers Yu Jingqiu's signal, understanding she has been captured intentionally to act as a guide.
He instructs Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo to alert other disciples for backup while he enters the Void Realm, separating his spirit from his body. Guided by the signal, he successfully navigates the chaotic dimension and finds the enemy base, where he sees not only Yu Jingqiu but also his captive mother, Moyang Yu.
Inside the base, Ao Lan reveals their plan: to use the extracted Snowflake Mark and a Soul Condensing Pill refined from Moyang Yu's Ancient Bloodline to resurrect the Great Demon God. Yu Jingqiu confronts Xi Yun, calling him a traitor. Xi Yun mockingly reveals that he is not the person she once knew but a disposable underling from the Temple of the Earth God whose body was taken over, and that his loyalty lies with whoever grants him power.
Dongbo Xueying and his companions storm the base just as the Great Demon God's remnant, Da Er Hao, bursts from the bronze coffin to the cheers of his followers. However, Moyang Yu breaks her chains and confronts the demon, revealing she has waited twenty years for this moment, ever since Moyang Chen's first visit. She had allowed herself to be a prisoner to find the demon's remnant and destroy it. Dongbo Xueying finally understands his mother's sacrifice.
Moyang Yu opens an Ancient Space, a vortex keyed to her bloodline that begins to pull both her and Da Er Hao in. Dongbo Xueying desperately grabs her, but she tearfully explains this is the only way to destroy the demon and that protecting the Xia Clan is her duty. Forcibly pushing her son away, she is consumed by the vortex along with the demon, making the ultimate sacrifice.
Overwhelmed by grief, Dongbo Xueying's Ancient Bloodline erupts, breaking through his sealed meridians and elevating him to the Saint realm. The immense power surge renders him unconscious. In a dream, he sees a happy reunion with his mother at Xueying Territory, only for the vision to fade, leaving him alone. After he awakens, Kong Youyue confides in her master, expressing deep regret and helplessness over her inability to contribute during the battle.
Her master advises her to let go of her obsessions and reconcile with herself, noting that everyone has their own value. Later, Yu Jingqiu takes Dongbo Xueying to the Destruction Mountain Range, where they first met. She reminds him of his resilience and charm even when he had no power, encouraging him to regain his spirit. She then reveals that his awakened Ancient Bloodline now clashes with her divine power, preventing her from healing him and making her feel useless.
Dongbo Xueying reassures her that her presence is what matters most. They grill fish together, but Yu Jingqiu is suddenly struck by a severe coughing fit. She dismisses it, but later asks Kong Youyue not to tell Dongbo Xueying about her worsening condition, fearing it would distract him from his recovery.
Episode 33 Recap
Xue Ruoshuang, noticing Yu Jingqiu’s poor complexion and hair loss, brings her a healing soup. Confronting Jingqiu about her deteriorating health, Xue Ruoshuang explains that gods cannot remain in the human world. Once the seal on Jingqiu's divine bloodline is broken, her body will weaken until she vanishes. Jingqiu argues that her divine consciousness isn't fully recovered, so the seal should be intact. However, Xue Ruoshuang reveals the true cause is Dongbo Xueying.
His awakened Ancient Bloodline is the only power capable of killing gods, making him Jingqiu's natural nemesis. She recalls feeling suffocated the last time his power flared. Presented with two choices—return to the Heavenly Palace and be separated from Xueying forever, or stay and perish—Jingqiu asks for time. Later, asserting her authority as the Young Master of the Moxue Empire, Jingqiu forbids Xue Ruoshuang from telling anyone about her condition, threatening to never return if she disobeys.
She then asks Xue Ruoshuang to help her dress in a vibrant red gown and apply makeup, wanting to look her best. At Xinhuo Palace, the disciples are in awe of Dongbo Xueying's advancement to the Saint realm. As they talk, Yu Jingqiu appears in her red dress, captivating everyone. After some playful banter with Yu Feng, Xueying tells Jingqiu she is always the most beautiful in his eyes.
When Xueying announces he must investigate unusual activity at Black Wind Cliff, Jingqiu, despite a persistent cough she dismisses as minor, insists on accompanying him. Xue Ruoshuang vehemently objects to the trip, showing Jingqiu a handkerchief stained with her coughed-up blood as proof of her severe weakness. She fears Xueying's mere presence is a danger. Jingqiu, however, is determined to cherish every moment with him and create beautiful memories, promising she will return to the Moxue Empire afterward.
At Black Wind Cliff, after finding traces of demons, Jingqiu collapses. Xueying carries her to a treehouse to recover. When she awakens, he tells her the demon hunt was a ruse for something more important. He shows her the starry sky, quoting his mother about the two most admirable things: the stars above and the person one loves. He tells Jingqiu he now has both.
As they watch a shooting star, fireworks suddenly illuminate the sky, a surprise arranged by Xueying with the help of Puyang Bo, Kong Youyue, and their friends. Realizing the mission was a pretense, Jingqiu is overjoyed. Xueying presents her with half of a family heirloom pendant, meant only for the Lord of Xueying Territory and his lady, declaring that she is now his woman. A touched Jingqiu accepts.
Amid the celebration, in which Puyang Bo impulsively kisses a blushing Kong Youyue, Jingqiu faints again. Back at the palace, Xueying questions Jingqiu’s weakness. To hide the real reason, she lies, claiming that after awakening her divine power during the demon attack, she drank a source stone sap from Situ Hong that secretly contained a Demonic Soul Pill. She explains that removing the pill drained her energy and that she suspects Situ Hong of treachery.
Though Xueying suggests postponing their wedding, Jingqiu insists they marry soon. After he leaves, confused by Xue Ruoshuang’s coldness toward him, Jingqiu confesses the truth to her attendant: she knows staying with Xueying is killing her, but she wants to be willful for once and follow her heart. Arriving with medicine, Kong Youyue overhears this and learns that Jingqiu is choosing to die for a chance at happiness.
She urges Jingqiu to tell Xueying, but Jingqiu refuses, knowing he would send her away. She tearfully begs Kong Youyue to keep her secret, and a conflicted Kong Youyue agrees. Meanwhile, Bai Yuanzhi tries to persuade a captive Ji Rong to renounce her demonic powers, but she refuses, believing power is her only protection and seeking revenge against the Xia Clan who killed her mother.
Dongbo Xueying arrives to ask for Bai Yuanzhi’s help in telling his brother, Dongbo Qingshi, about their mother’s death. But they are too late; Qingshi has already been manipulated by Ji Rong into freeing her. When Xueying and Bai Yuanzhi intercept them, Qingshi defends Ji Rong, fighting his own brother and insisting she is still the person he loves. Seizing the opportunity, Ji Rong attacks Xueying, but Qingshi shields his brother, taking the full force of the blow.
After Qingshi awakens, he apologizes. Xueying tells him he has grown up but must now make his own choices. He reveals that Ji Rong is a subordinate of the demon Ao Lan and then delivers the devastating news: their mother sacrificed herself to stop the Great Demon God. Forcing Qingshi to face the harsh reality of their world, Xueying explains that he, too, had to grow up to protect their home, leaving a heartbroken Qingshi to grieve.
Episode 34 Recap
As the wedding day approached, Xue Ruoshuang sought out DongBo Xueying to reveal the truth. She explained that the Ancient Bloodline is the most powerful force in the mortal world, capable of intimidating even divine power due to the existence of the world's will. Yu Jingqiu had recently awakened her divine bloodline and restored her divine consciousness, which meant she could no longer remain in the human realm without becoming increasingly weak.
Furthermore, DongBo Xueying's Ancient Bloodline would accelerate her decline, leading to her eventual demise. Around the same time, Pu Yangbo arrived on behalf of DongBo Xueying to deliver the betrothal gifts. The list included numerous rare and valuable items, such as energy crystals, cultivation books, and magical tools. Among them was the legendary Quanshu, a mythical creature said to represent passionate love and unparalleled devotion, having only one partner in its lifetime.
Yu Jingqiu presented DongBo Xueying with a collection of paintings she had created, illustrating moments of their relationship from their first meeting to falling in love. Hearing about the Quanshu's nature, she asked DongBo Xueying to release it, feeling sorry for the creature that would be left behind. Later, DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu spent time together, playing a dice game where the loser had to drink and answer a truth question.
Though burdened by unspoken concerns, DongBo Xueying cherished the precious moments they shared. Early the next morning, Yu Jingqiu dressed in her wedding attire. To her surprise, Xue Ruoshuang appeared and offered her blessings, expressing support for the marriage. Before leaving, Yu Jingqiu knelt and bowed to Xue Ruoshuang, expressing her gratitude for the care she had received. DongBo Xueying arrived to greet her, picking her up and carrying her to the ship.
Joined by Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo, they traveled towards Xueying Territory. Yu Jingqiu wanted to take in the sights of the Dragon Mountain Empire and Xueying Territory, the place where DongBo Xueying grew up. Upon arriving at Snow Stone Fort, they were greeted by DongBo Qingshi and Uncle Zong, and firecrackers were set off to celebrate. The wedding ceremony commenced with bows to heaven and earth, to the spirit tablets of their parents, and finally to each other.
However, as Yu Jingqiu prepared to drink the ceremonial wine, she noticed something was wrong. The wine contained the spiritual liquid of the Soul Separation Kun Fish, which would cause scale-colored spots and turn to blood if left in the cup for a short while, inducing a deep sleep upon consumption. Initially, Yu Jingqiu intended to warn DongBo Xueying and investigate, but she observed the somber expressions of everyone present and noticed that DongBo Xueying's wine appeared normal.
The realization struck her: this was intentional. DongBo Xueying, steeling himself for the difficult task of ensuring Yu Jingqiu's return to the Moxue Empire, hardened his heart and lied, claiming his affection and their marriage were merely a means to obtain her divine bloodline to save his mother and the Dragon Mountain Empire. Believing his cruel fabrication, Yu Jingqiu was heartbroken. In her anguish, she seized a dagger and cut her wrist, offering him the divine bloodline he supposedly desired.
Declaring their ties severed forever, she then collapsed into unconsciousness as the energy in her body flowed in reverse. According to a prearranged plan, Xue Ruoshuang, as the Spirit Hairpin of the Moxue Empire, would use DongBo Xueying's Ancient Bloodline and heart blood as a primer to reopen the Demon Well and send Yu Jingqiu back to the Moxue Empire. Ao Lan, leading demon soldiers, intervened, attempting to stop them.
Fortunately, Chi Qiubai arrived in time to repel the demon forces and drew Ao Lan away, ensuring DongBo Xueying could successfully send Yu Jingqiu through the Demon Well. After this event, DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu were separated, their reunion uncertain. Chi Qiubai led Ao Lan to a secluded area, where Ao Lan successfully retrieved demonic energy from him, hinting at a prior arrangement between them.
Chi Qiubai then returned to the Demon Well, his heart heavy as he saw DongBo Xueying standing alone before it, a solitary and dejected figure. In truth, DongBo Xueying had contacted his close friends before the wedding, explaining the gravity of Yu Jingqiu's situation and the plan to save her. They had all pledged their full support, asking only that he not regret his decision. Following Yu Jingqiu's departure, DongBo Xueying secluded himself in his room for many days.
Wu Cang remarked that the suffering caused by love in the mortal world was far more intense than the hardships of cultivation. Unsure how to console DongBo Xueying, Wu Cang suggested that the best way to forget someone is to begin a new relationship. This comment drew the attention of everyone present towards Zhuo Yi, much to DongBo Qingshi's exasperation, who told them to stop meddling. Eventually, DongBo Xueying emerged from his room, appearing noticeably better.
He declared that Yu Jingqiu would always be his only wife, and that regardless of whether they were in the Dragon Mountain Empire or the Heavenly Palace, she alone occupied his heart. Having come to terms with things, DongBo Xueying stated that the immediate priority was to identify and expose the traitor within the Xia Clan. DongBo Xueying brought Situ Hong before Sikong Yang and Ye Mei to report on the Demon Clan's spiritual liquid.
He presented a spirit stone, explaining the liquid inside could make cultivators lose their minds and obey the Demon Clan, and accused Situ Hong of using it to harm Yu Jingqiu during a recent battle. Situ Hong vehemently denied being involved with the Demon Clan, claiming he had given the spirit stone to Yu Jingqiu out of kindness when she was injured.
He stated other disciples also used the liquid from stones he provided and recovered, suggesting his actions were benevolent. Defending his admiration for Yu Jingqiu, he asserted he would never harm her and claimed the spirit stones he possessed were purchased from Kong's Weapon Workshop. Kong Youyue angrily refuted this, stating her family's workshop would never sell demonic items and accusing Situ Hong of slander. Ye Mei intervened, stating that a single spirit stone was insufficient evidence to prove Situ Hong's connection to the Demon Clan, allowing him to escape suspicion for the time being.
Episode 35 Recap
DongBo Qingshi, along with Puyang Bo and Yu Feng, convinced a reluctant DongBo Xueying to join them for a day out in the city. While there, they spotted Situ Hong. Zhuo Yi volunteered to follow him to gauge his character. She observed Situ Hong use a spell to help a boy whose pet rabbit was dying, orchestrating events so a kind passerby would adopt and care for the animal.
Situ Hong told the boy that kindness is useless without the strength to protect what one loves and muttered the phrase "survival of the fittest," which Zhuo Yi found disturbingly familiar, making her suspect his identity. When she regrouped with the others, she deliberately omitted the incident with the rabbit, claiming only that Situ Hong bought some dried fruit and left, suggesting they were overthinking their suspicions.
Unsettled, DongBo Xueying lost his desire to continue the outing and left, with DongBo Qingshi telling the others to let him be. Meanwhile, Yu Jingqiu awoke in the Heavenly Realm, attended by Xue Ruoshuang. Her first thought was for DongBo Xueying's safety, though Xue Ruoshuang was more concerned about her fragile health.
Recalling her time with DongBo Xueying, particularly the fish he cooked for her, she held a hairpin passed down from her mother, an heirloom meant for the Xueying Territory Lord and his wife. She considered signaling him but decided against it, believing their relationship would only distract him while the Demon Clan remains a threat. Accepting that their separation might be permanent, she hoped he would eventually forget her for his own sake.
DongBo Xueying later met his master, Chi Qiubai, who advised him to let go of the past. DongBo Xueying refused, feeling he must carry the burden forward. He expressed his fear that his mother's sacrifice was not enough to fully destroy the Great Demon God, whose remnants survived, and that Ao Lan was plotting a comeback before he could become strong enough to stop them.
Chi Qiubai counseled that true strength lies not just in power but in leadership, urging DongBo Xueying to unite the Dragon Mountain Empire. Before parting, Chi Qiubai spoke with a strange melancholy, telling Xueying he had nothing left to teach him and would be surpassed. To uncover the Demon Clan's plans, Chi Qiubai feigned defection. He approached Ao Lan, claiming disillusionment with the Xia Clan and admiration for the Demon God's power.
To prove his loyalty, he cited that Ao Lan held the energy core of Xiaoxi, the woman he loved most and could not bear to lose. Skeptical, Ao Lan gave him a manual for a powerful demonic technique, stating he must master it to be truly accepted.
Though Chi Qiubai began practicing, he secretly cut his wrist to use his inner power to expel the demonic energy, an act Ao Lan immediately detected and warned him against, threatening him with greater suffering. Internally, Chi Qiubai resolved to endure any torment, even death, for the chance to defeat the demons for Xiaoxi's sake.
Elsewhere, a frustrated Mo Yangchen, resentful that his sister Moyang Yu never shared the secret of the Ancient Bloodline with him, was approached by Ao Lan. Ao Lan deceived him, claiming he was chosen by a "demonic sacred technique" far superior to the Ancient Bloodline. Eager for power, Mo Yangchen allowed Ao Lan to guide him, which resulted in the Great Demon God's remnants possessing his body. The Demon God, finding his new host weak, demanded a better one.
Ao Lan revealed his plan: he had already tricked the powerful and respected Chi Qiubai into practicing the demonic technique and intended to seize his body for the Demon God once he mastered it. The Demon God approved, vowing to destroy DongBo Xueying for thwarting his plans and to acquire his Ancient Bloodline. To ensure this, Ao Lan confirmed he had sent for the Witch God Sword from the Dark Abyss.
Determined to help his brother and the Xia Clan, DongBo Qingshi decided to join the Dragon Mountain Mansion. DongBo Xueying supported his decision. For his entrance test, Si An tasked him with eliminating a demon near the Bloodshed Tavern in Qinghe County, a mission where others had failed. DongBo Xueying, Puyang Bo, and Yu Feng accompanied him. After finding a suspicious, well-kept house, they discovered a hidden passage.
Inside, they found Ye Mei protecting a demonized man, whom she revealed was Hero Shan, the man she loved. Years ago, he was poisoned in the Dark Abyss and transformed. She had been secretly caring for him ever since. Knowing they were discovered, Ye Mei decided to end his suffering herself. DongBo Qingshi later reported to Si An, falsely claiming the intelligence about a demon was wrong.
Si An, already aware of the truth from a scout he had sent, confronted Qingshi with his lie. However, Si An recognized Qingshi's compassionate motives, courage, and resourcefulness. Instead of expelling him, he allowed Qingshi to stay and train in reconnaissance spells. DongBo Qingshi gratefully accepted, vowing to his brother that together they would avenge their mother and defeat the Demon Clan.
Seeking more advanced demonic arts, Situ Hong found Mo Yangchen's residence, only to be met by Ao Lan and the Demon God possessing Mo Yangchen's body. Ao Lan tasked Situ Hong with a mission: to secretly add a demonic potion to DongBo Xueying's tea. The potion would destabilize his newly awakened Ancient Bloodline and cause his power to turn on itself. In exchange, Situ Hong was promised higher-level techniques.
Later, Situ Hong approached DongBo Xueying, feigning an apology for the demonic crystal incident. He claimed ignorance of the item's nature and called Yu Jingqiu's subsequent awakening a "blessing in disguise," while also giving false advice about resting due to his unstable bloodline.
Episode 36 Recap
After DongBo Xueying's Ancient Bloodline awakened, his inner power became extremely unstable. Situ Hong visited under the guise of offering apologies and, when unobserved, added a substance to DongBo Xueying's tea. However, Pu Yangbo and Kong Youyue arrived shortly after. Feeling parched, Pu Yangbo drank the tea and immediately experienced disordered breath and discomfort. Realizing someone had tried to harm DongBo Xueying, Pu Yangbo furiously rushed outside to confront Situ Hong, who was lingering nearby.
Situ Hong denied any wrongdoing, claiming he was looking for a lost jade pendant. Zhuo Yi appeared and intervened, giving Pu Yangbo a pill to stabilize his breath and suggesting his symptoms were merely due to his recent intense training. Pu Yangbo insisted Situ Hong had poisoned the tea. To disprove this, Zhuo Yi offered to have the Elder Council inspect the tea but then drank the remaining liquid herself, showing no ill effects even after some time.
She maintained the issue was Pu Yangbo's own instability. Though DongBo Xueying and Kong Youyue remained suspicious, they lacked proof. Later, Zhuo Yi confronted Situ Hong, revealing she had sealed her breath to appear unaffected by the drugged tea. She questioned his motives, but he dismissed her, stating they were both just trying to survive. He warned her not to meddle in his affairs again, threatening her life.
When she asked if he was fixated on defeating DongBo Xueying, Situ Hong vowed that he would one day achieve a complete victory over him. That evening, Bai Yuanzhi and Sikong Yang reflected on the current peace in the Dragon Mountain Empire, acknowledging the inevitable conflict to come. They discussed the tragedy of Hero Shan, who succumbed to demonic poison, and revealed that they too had been infected years ago, with Bai Yuanzhi having contracted it while protecting Sikong Yang.
They reaffirmed their commitment to resisting the Demon Clan until their last breath, instructing the younger generation to kill them without hesitation if they lost control. The youths, however, promised to defeat the Great Demon God and find an antidote. Meanwhile, DongBo Xueying felt lost, burdened by the plight of his elders and the peril facing the empire. In a memory or vision, his master, Chi Qiubai, reminded him that true strength comes from unshakeable faith, not just martial skill.
He urged Xueying to overcome his despair alone, to forge the resolve necessary to become the powerhouse the Xia Clan needed, telling him that if he were to fall, Xueying would be their only hope. DongBo Xueying vowed to live up to this expectation, though he remained uncertain where to begin his search for the Demon God's remnants.
Elsewhere, Ji Rong was held captive by her master, Bai Yuanzhi, who visited her daily, trying to persuade her to change her ways. The Demon Clan's Second Priest, Aolan, tricked Bai Yuanzhi away and freed Ji Rong. Aolan revealed that the Great Demon God doubted her loyalty due to her half-demon heritage and human master.
To prove herself, Ji Rong was given a mission: retrieve the Witch God Sword from the Well of Gods and Demons in Xueying Territory and take it to Leichao Sea Cliff. The sword, forged from a dying god's core, was capable of killing DongBo Xueying and extracting his Ancient Bloodline. Chi Qiubai arrived at Xueying Territory to inspect the Well of Gods and Demons with Commander Zong.
After Zong fell into a deep, drunken sleep, Chi Qiubai retrieved the Witch God Sword, internally conflicted. A voiceover from Aolan revealed Chi Qiubai's true mission from the demons: retrieve the sword and kill Ji Rong, who was deemed a liability. Just as Ji Rong appeared to claim the sword, Commander Zong stirred, creating a diversion that allowed her to escape. Ji Rong reported her failure to Aolan, claiming Chi Qiubai had the sword and had tried to kill her.
Facing execution for her failure and perceived disloyalty, Ji Rong desperately proposed a new plan: use DongBo Qingshi's infatuation with her to control or lure DongBo Xueying. The Great Demon God agreed, granting her one last chance. Ji Rong went to the Dragon Mountain Mansion and, after feigning that she was Qingshi's sister to gain entry, professed her love for him.
Claiming she had been held captive by her master and was misunderstood, she convinced the smitten DongBo Qingshi to let her stay. Later, she brought him his favorite osmanthus cake, which was drugged. While he ate, she inquired about a large device in the hall, which Qingshi explained was the Heixuan Machine, the central control for all Black Iron Orders in the empire.
After Qingshi fell unconscious, Ji Rong began to demonize the machine, intending to corrupt every Black Iron Order holder and throw the empire into chaos. Meanwhile, at Leichao Sea Cliff, DongBo Xueying, Kong Youyue, and Pu Yangbo found a magic crystal used to sustain demon souls, deducing the Great Demon God's remnants had been there but were already gone. Their discussion was interrupted by the arrival of Situ Hong and Zhuo Yi.
Kong Youyue noticed sand on Situ Hong's clothes, identifying it as being from near the Sea God Palace. Zhuo Yi quickly claimed she had asked him to take her sightseeing there, but Kong Youyue remained suspicious, noting that this was the second time Zhuo Yi had covered for him. At the You Pavilion, a Princess figure worriedly asked her attendant, Mrs. Xue, for news of the empire. Upon hearing that the Demon Clan's attack had begun, she expressed deep concern for DongBo Xueying's safety.
Episode 37 Recap
The Dragon Mountain Empire plunged into chaos as everyone holding a Black Iron Order was transformed into demonized warriors, losing their sanity and attacking civilians and fellow practitioners alike. Prominent figures like Yu Feng and Lan Sha were among the afflicted. Seizing the opportunity, Ao Lan led a demonic assault on the Dragon Mountain Mansion. Chi Qiubai, whose cultivation of demonic arts granted him immunity, was not affected by the corruption. The demonic invasion spread rapidly.
Sikong Yang, battling the poison within him, died from his injuries after using his last strength to save others. At the Bloodshed Tavern, Ye Mei found the masters there had also been transformed. She fought valiantly but was ultimately overwhelmed and killed. Inside the Dragon Mountain Mansion, Lord Si An and Master You Tu struggled to retain control as the demonic influence took hold.
You Tu explained that the Heixuan Machine, which issues the Black Iron Orders, had been corrupted, poisoning everyone connected to them. As he began to lose his mind, Si An pleaded to be killed, revealing that the afflicted could only attack the uninfected and he could not bear to harm his own people. Meanwhile, Chi Qiubai confronted Ji Rong, whom Bai Yuanzhi suspected was responsible.
Ji Rong confessed, admitting she took a pill from the Second Priest hoping to gain power, only to be poisoned by it. As Chi Qiubai moved to execute her, Bai Yuanzhi intervened, absorbing the poison from Ji Rong into himself. He explained to a stunned Chi Qiubai that as her master, he couldn't abandon her, referencing his own decades-long battle with demonic poison.
Knowing his time was short, Bai Yuanzhi entrusted the future of the empire to Chi Qiubai and departed. Elsewhere, DongBo Xueying and Pu Yangbo faced a possessed Mo Yangchen. Pu Yangbo confronted him with the memory of his master, Master He, who was killed by the Demon Clan. Pu Yangbo then revealed the truth of Mo Yangchen’s expulsion from the Black White Deity Mountain: the Council had discovered his secret demonic cultivation and planned to execute him.
To save his life, Master He publicly crippled his meridians and banished him, secretly preserving some of his life force at great personal cost. Overwhelmed with guilt, Mo Yangchen briefly regained control, but Ao Lan appeared and helped the Demon God re-suppress his consciousness. At the same time, Kong Youyue discovered Situ Hong colluding with the demons. Before she could act, he knocked her unconscious, declaring that his only goal was to gain enough power to kill DongBo Xueying.
As the crisis at the Dragon Mountain Mansion peaked, Zong Ling discovered that DongBo Qingshi had been poisoned. To save the boy he had sworn to protect, Zong Ling transferred the demonic poison into his own body, dying in Qingshi's arms. With his last moments of clarity, You Tu explained that the Lord of Dragon Mountain holds a unique contract with the Heixuan Machine.
With Si An incapacitated, the only way to end the chaos was for a new Lord to break the contract. Urged by Si An, a grief-stricken Qingshi killed him as requested and inherited the title. As the new Lord, he successfully purified the Heixuan Machine, restoring peace. To rescue Kong Youyue, DongBo Xueying and Pu Yangbo confronted Situ Hong and the Demon God.
Situ Hong trapped Xueying in a formation designed to drain his Ancient Bloodline with the Witch God Sword. Although Chi Qiubai managed to break the formation, Xueying was inflicted with the Ghost Six Resentment Witch Poison from the sword, a fatal affliction with no known cure. Upon learning of Xueying's condition, Yu Jingqiu resolved to return to the mortal world.
Her guardian, Xue Ruoshuang, warned that her divine veins were not fully recovered and she could only survive for a few days. Undeterred, Yu Jingqiu chose to undergo the excruciatingly painful Deboning Formation Spell, a forbidden technique that stripped away her divine veins and made her a mortal, allowing her to remain in the human world permanently. After surviving the ordeal, she returned to Xueying's side with the Bitter Hundred Times herb, which temporarily suppressed the poison. Xueying awoke to find her there, and she vowed to stay with him forever.
Episode 38 Recap
After recovering from the Witch Poison, DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu shared an emotional embrace. Yu Jingqiu promised to stay with him, claiming she had found a way to remain in the Dragon Mountain Empire. When DongBo Xueying asked for details, she kissed him to avoid answering, thus concealing that she had been injured on a perilous journey to God's Punishment Mountain.
There, she had sought help from Bitter Hundred Times, who could only hint that a cure for the Witch Poison existed but that the path to it was difficult, as the secrets of the Divine Realm could not be freely spoken. Later, Kong Youyue noticed Yu Jingqiu's foot injury and offered to support her, playfully calling herself "Miss Crutch." Yu Jingqiu admitted to her that the injury was worth it for DongBo Xueying.
Meanwhile, Bai Yuanzhi, reaching the end of his life, severed his own meridians to free himself from the demonic poison that had tormented him for over twenty years. He told his disciple, Ji Rong, not to blame herself or Chi Qiubai, but the incurable poison itself. He explained that he understood her pain, as he too had suffered not just physically but from the mental anguish of being an outcast.
Ready for release, he asked Ji Rong, whom he considered a daughter, to live on as a human in the sun, a path he could no longer take. While cleaning the Dragon Mountain Mansion, DongBo Qingshi found a pouch Ji Rong had left behind containing an item from the Demon Clan. Recalling her odd behavior, he confronted her, realizing she had used Soporific Sap in his osmanthus cake to demonize the Heixuan Machine.
Pained by her betrayal after he had loved and protected her unconditionally, he accused her of using him. Ji Rong retorted that sincerity was useless and that she only wanted the Demon Clan to be revived so she could return home, questioning whether humans would ever accept a "half-demon monster" like her. Qingshi held her accountable for the deaths her actions caused, including Uncle Tong San and Uncle Zong Ling.
Ji Rong confessed that loving Qingshi was her biggest mistake, yet he was the only one who ever believed in her and didn't despise her for her identity. Expressing regret, she accepted her fate and allowed him to kill her, finding release from her hatred and pain. Ao Lan furiously confronted Chi Qiubai upon his return to the Demon God Association for breaking the Witch God Sword Formation and letting DongBo Xueying escape.
Ao Lan declared that the Witch God Sword had already taken Xueying's blood, infecting him with the deadly Ghost Six Resentment Witch Poison. Chi Qiubai argued that a poisoned Xueying was no longer a threat and that he couldn't bear to watch his disciple die, even knowing the consequences of betraying the Demon Clan.
In the conflict's aftermath, the Dragon Mountain Empire suffered heavy casualties, the Council was gone, and the people lost faith in Xinhuo Palace, with many disciples leaving to live in seclusion. Overwhelmed by despair, DongBo Xueying questioned his ability to protect the Xia Clan, feeling like a small candle easily extinguished. However, DongBo Qingshi stepped up as the new Lord of Dragon Mountain Mansion, establishing a charity hall to shelter the homeless and tend to the wounded.
He personally intervened to help a collapsed old man whom others feared was a disguised demon, arranging for his care and distributing Exorcising Powder to the people. When his youth was questioned, he declared that Dragon Mountain Mansion would always be the Xia Clan's shield. Inspired, DongBo Xueying joined his brother in helping the people. Qingshi reflected that he finally understood their father's teaching: cultivation is not just for self-improvement, but for protecting others.
Qingshi told his brother that some are meant for peaceful lives, while others, like Xueying, are destined to overcome trials and become heroes. Encouraged by his brother and Yu Jingqiu's unwavering support, DongBo Xueying's hope was rekindled. He admitted his original goal was only to reunite his family, not be a hero, but he now accepted the responsibility he had gained and wanted to protect the empire more than anyone.
Yu Jingqiu urged him to fight to the end, promising to be his strongest support. Yu Jingqiu recalled a rumor from Xinhuo Palace about the Dragon Mountain Emperor's armor, hidden in Red Stone Mountain and said to grant invincibility against even Demon Gods. DongBo Xueying remembered the mountain as a mysterious place—a fiery light from the Divine Realm that was impossibly vast and from which no one had ever returned.
Resolved to go for the sake of the Xia Clan, he was joined by Puyang Bo and Kong Youyue, who insisted on facing the danger together. Meanwhile, two Demon Clan priests plotted to intercept and kill DongBo Xueying at Red Stone Mountain. The four companions entered the strange mountain and were soon caught in an illusion resembling Water Daoist Temple, where they were reunited with their lost loved ones.
DongBo Xueying recognized the trap and warned that they would end up like the desiccated corpses outside if they remained. With his help, the others broke free from their emotional attachments. Kong Youyue then used her Visionary Gaze ability under DongBo Xueying’s direction to shatter the illusion. They were then met by Xi Wei, the protector of Red Stone Mountain. She confirmed the armor's existence but warned that they must pass a series of life-threatening tests to obtain it.
Undeterred, they accepted the challenge. Their first trial was to fight through an army of sand monsters. As they proceeded, Yu Jingqiu was shown a vision through the Tongyou Mirror of her parents in the Divine Realm, lovingly planning her future before she was born. Immediately after the vision ended, she discovered their perfectly preserved bodies, realizing she had finally found them.
Episode 39 Recap
DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu survive their fall into the Floating Island, where they meet the Master of Red Stone Mountain. He grants Yu Jingqiu the Snow Phantom Spell, a healing art that can repair her heart pulse, which was damaged when her divine bloodline was removed. Meanwhile, Ao Lan and Chi Qiubai also breach the Red Stone Mountain barrier. Ao Lan explains to Chi Qiubai that DongBo Xueying, poisoned by the Witch God Sword, is fated to die.
Ao Lan wants him eliminated quickly because, as an inheritor of the Ancient Bloodline, Xueying is a threat to the Demon Clan, much like Moyang Yu who once destroyed the Great Demon God's physical body. With Xueying's blood already used to create a Soul Condensing Pill, he is no longer of any use to them.
Inside the Red Stone Illusion, Ao Lan discovers the perfectly preserved bodies of the Lord and Lady of the Moxue Empire, seeing them as the ideal new vessel for the Great Demon God. Chi Qiubai urges caution, but they are interrupted by the arrival of DongBo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu. Jingqiu is shocked to see her parents' bodies and devastated to find her master, Chi Qiubai, allied with the demons.
Xueying stops her from rashly moving the bodies, suspecting their preservation is linked to where they lie. Ao Lan orders Chi Qiubai to delay the pair while he escapes with the bodies. In the ensuing fight, Chi Qiubai easily defeats and injures Xueying, telling him that to inherit the will of Dragon Mountain, he must learn to be reborn from death. After they leave, Xueying succumbs to his poison and collapses.
The Master of Red Stone Mountain appears but states that the poison is too advanced for even him to cure, and Xueying's survival depends on his own will. Xueying awakens in a parallel world within the Red Stone barrier, a perfect reality where he is back in Snow Stone Fort with his family, including his parents and brother, and is happily married to Yu Jingqiu.
The Master explains to the others that this world is a real space where practitioners can live out their deepest desires, and most who enter choose to stay. Believing Xueying will return, Jingqiu decides to wait for him. She also informs Pu Yangbo and Kong Youyue of Chi Qiubai's betrayal. While waiting, the three cultivate the secret arts from Red Stone Mountain, with Jingqiu successfully mastering the True Meaning of Ice Breaking.
Elsewhere, Situ Hong suffers from the backlash of a demonic pill. Zhuo Yi finds him and offers aid, revealing that they met years ago when she witnessed his hidden act of mercy toward a beastman. She urges him to turn back from his dark path, but he refuses. Driven by bitterness over DongBo Xueying's perceived favoritism, Situ Hong is determined to defeat the "hero" even if it means becoming a villain.
Ao Lan appears and, breaking his promise to give Situ Hong a high-level demonic technique, assigns him to guard a sacrificial ritual. Despite Zhuo Yi's pleas to flee with her, Situ Hong, feeling he has lost too much to turn back now, follows Ao Lan. At the Demon God Well, Ao Lan performs the ritual. He extracts the Demon God's remnant soul from Mo Yangchen's body and uses the Moxue Lord and Lady's bodies to forge a new physical form.
The Demon God then possesses Chi Qiubai. Weakened by the lingering Will of Dragon Mountain within Chi Qiubai, the Demon God attempts to absorb Situ Hong's power. At this critical moment, Situ Hong and a returning Zhuo Yi fight back. They are ultimately no match for the Demon God; Situ Hong sacrifices himself, and just before she dies, Zhuo Yi sends out an emergency signal.
Ao Lan summons General Nuo Nuo An, who has created a puppet army by giving demonic medicine to civilians. Their master plan is to collect enough Dou Qi to erect a massive Six-pointed Star Fortress over the entire Dragon Mountain Empire, connecting it to the abyss and granting them infinite power. Wu Cang and Yu Feng receive Zhuo Yi's urgent distress signal and, despite their limited forces, decide they must investigate the danger at Tiger City.

Episode 40 (Ending) Recap
Pu Yangbo and Kong Youyue received a message from Wu Cang requesting support for Pinghu City. Suspecting a major incident, they hurried back ahead, while Yu Jingqiu stayed behind to wait for Dongbo Xueying. Meanwhile, in the parallel world, Dongbo Xueying wrestled with his decision. Despite the warmth of the life around him, he knew he could not abandon his true companions and the people of the Dragon Mountain Empire.
He resolved that he had to return to his own world. The Yu Jingqiu of that parallel world did not want Dongbo Xueying to leave, offering him the Dragon Mountain Emperor’s God of War Armor to persuade him to stay. As Dongbo Xueying touched the armor, he experienced a vision of the Mo Xue couple, who had fought and died alongside the Xia Clan against the demons.
This experience led him to a realization: the quest for the armor was born of inner weakness, a desire for external help to overcome challenges. But true strength, he understood, comes from within, enabling one to face failure without fear. With this clarity, he successfully passed the test and walked out of the Red Stone Barrier. Yu Jingqiu was waiting for Dongbo Xueying when he emerged from the Gate of Time and Space.
He apologized for making her wait and promised not to disappear again. He then paid his respects to the Master of the Red Stone Mountain, who had been waiting for him. The Master expressed his pleasure at seeing someone voluntarily walk out of the barrier, noting that Dongbo Xueying had been reborn through the trial. He confirmed that the Witch Poison was gone and Dongbo Xueying's inner conflict was resolved.
The Master revealed that Dongbo Xueying had achieved the True Meaning of Star, and his abilities now far surpassed the Demigod level, reaching the Spiritual God level—the highest in the Dragon Mountain Empire. At that moment, the Six-pointed Star Fortress appeared. Nuo Nuo An announced the completion of the final crystal ball, giving her control over the city's populace and activating the fortress. The war had begun. The Xia Clan prepared for a desperate battle.
Wu Cang and Yu Feng had infiltrated the Demon Clan ranks, while Dongbo Qingshi arrived with reinforcements. Before leaving, Dongbo Xueying and his companions bid farewell to the Master and Ms. Xi Wei, and the Master entrusted the fate of the Dragon Mountain Empire to him. The battle commenced. The Great Demon God Da Er Hao, possessing the body of Chi Qiubai, taunted that the Xia Clan had no skilled fighters left.
Yu Jingqiu had already warned Dongbo Xueying that he would have to face his former master as an enemy. She urged him not to hesitate, reminding him that Chi Qiubai was no longer himself, just as her own parents' bodies had been desecrated and used by the Demon Clan. She stressed that her parents had sacrificed their lives for the Xia Clan and would not want him to show mercy to their common enemy, Da Er Hao.
Dongbo Xueying confronted Da Er Hao, who was surprised that he had broken through to the Spiritual God level despite being cursed. As they fought, Chi Qiubai's consciousness resisted from within, refusing to betray the Xia Clan. Da Er Hao mocked his struggle, gloating that he would make Dongbo Xueying witness the death of every Xia Clan warrior. Struggling for control, Chi Qiubai managed a final, decisive act.
He forced his body onto Dongbo Xueying's spear, allowing his student to strike the entity possessing him. In his final moments, Chi Qiubai’s spirit spoke to Dongbo Xueying, expressing pride at hearing him call him "Master" again. He revealed that he had pretended to join the demons to protect the Xia Clan, knowing his body would eventually be taken over. He chose to die as a member of the Xia Clan rather than become a demon.
He expressed relief at seeing Dongbo Xueying's growth, apologized for breaking their promise to fight together, and sent a final thought to his love, Xiaoxi. Empowered by his master's sacrifice, Dongbo Xueying fought on. Wu Cang and Yu Feng made their own heroic sacrifices in the battle. Yu Jingqiu was gravely wounded while protecting Dongbo Xueying.
A monstrous Ling Demonic Flower, a sacred plant of the Demon Clan that feeds on Dou Qi, appeared and trapped Dongbo Xueying, intending to absorb his power. Yu Jingqiu instructed Pu Yangbo and Kong Youyue to attack the flower while she held off Da Er Hao. Trapped and drained of energy, Dongbo Xueying fought the flower's corruption. During the struggle, Kong Youyue was fatally wounded.
Witnessing this, Dongbo Xueying, despite the immense pain, stimulated his Ancient Bloodline for a second time. He broke free, declaring that his power came from his will to protect their homeland. Harnessing his newfound strength, he unleashed a brilliant golden light and struck down Da Er Hao, utterly destroying the Demon God and preventing his revival. The oppressive demonic energy that had covered the Dragon Mountain Empire began to dissipate. The great war was over.
However, victory came at a great cost. Kong Youyue died in the battle, leaving Pu Yangbo heartbroken. Ten years passed, and the Dragon Mountain Empire prospered in peace. Pu Yangbo established a weapon workshop named after Kong Youyue and would often visit her memorial with her favorite peach-flavored pastries, sharing his thoughts and memories of her. Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu returned to Xueying Territory.
Dongbo Xueying became the new lord, and they had a son named Dongbo Nianbai, his name a tribute to the memory of his master, Chi Qiubai. Dongbo Xueying carried on his master's ideals. During the Lucky Reunion Festival, he stopped his young son from hunting a deer, teaching him that the Dragon Mountain Emperor’s vision was to create a peaceful home for the Xia Clan, not to conquer other species.
He explained that great love is born from the will to protect, and true strength is shown by protecting the weak. As Nianbai grew, he came to understand his father's words and treasured the story of his parents' heroism, recognizing that the duty and glory of every Xia Clan member was to protect their home. When he asked how to gain Transcendent power, Dongbo Xueying told him that the path lies at his feet, and the journey begins the moment he believes in himself.
