The next morning, Tang Yihui brought Qin Shi to the yoga studio where President Lan usually practiced. Since Li Dai had offended Zhao Danping, Tang aimed to win back favor with President Lan and didn’t want to lose such a major client. Qin Shi asked why Tang was so intent on keeping President Lan. Tang confided in her.
Before marrying her, Jin Cheng had dated someone else for seven or eight years. They only broke up before he married Tang. At the time, Jin Cheng’s family strongly opposed the marriage, since his ex came from a wealthy background and marrying her would have meant an easier life. Li Dai took this as Wu Fei siding with Qin Shi.
Although a colleague warned Wu Fei about offending Li Dai, she didn’t take it seriously. Qin Shi gathered her team to report on Zhao Danping. She called on Wu Fei, but Wu Fei was unprepared.
