Zhaoyang went to see Gao Yi at work late one evening, where he unexpectedly announced he was getting married to a woman named Hai Lan and hoped Zhaoyang could attend. Devastated by the news, Zhaoyang returned to Changle Restaurant and drank heavily by herself. Yang Jian found her and expressed his concern, at which point Zhaoyang drunkenly proposed marriage to him.

When Yang Jian asked if she would ask the same of any other man in his place, Zhaoyang admitted she would. After a moment of silence, Yang Jian agreed, reasoning it was better him than a stranger. In sharp contrast, Xu Si and Jiang Hu shared an affectionate moment, reaffirming their love for each other. Following Teng Yue's recent success, a surge in online and offline demand created a severe stock shortage.

Song Jiali and others pressed Master Zhang to increase production, but the current workforce couldn't keep up. Yue Shan concluded that finding an OEM partner was the only solution. Pei Zhiyuan, who had connections in the field, initially suggested a former employee named Liu Jun, but the idea was immediately rejected. However, Pei assured them he had another, more suitable candidate in mind. The next day, Zhaoyang and Yang Jian officially registered their marriage.

When Zhou Suqing discovered the marriage certificate in her daughter's closet, she was furious. The news also shocked Jiu and Wu, who questioned if the certificate was even real, while Yang Jian remained silent. At a weekend meeting, the Teng Yue team planned a grand celebration for the company's 100th anniversary. Afterward, Zhaoyang received a call from her mother and nonchalantly told Jiang Hu that she had married Yang Jian.

A stunned Jiang Hu pulled her aside, questioning if she was sincere and had truly moved on from Gao Yi. When Zhaoyang gave an evasive answer, Jiang Hu revealed that she had long known about Gao Yi's deep and unwavering love for his childhood sweetheart, Hai Lan. She explained that neither of them had ever truly held a significant place in his heart.

Later, Zhaoyang had a tense conversation with her mother, who harshly criticized her decision, comparing it to a "good cabbage" she had raised for over twenty years rotting in her own home. Zhou Suqing listed her objections to Yang Jian: his low education, his status as a small business owner, and most significantly, her fear that he would end up like his abusive, alcoholic father.

Zhaoyang explained she was simply accustomed to Yang Jian after so many years and didn't want to adapt to someone new. Separately, Yang Jian promised Zhaoyang that she would hold the power in their relationship and he would wait patiently until she was ready to fully accept him. Jiang Hu visited Hai Lan in the hospital to give her a wedding gift and was surprised when Hai Lan recognized her from childhood.

Hai Lan urged Jiang Hu not to blame Gao Yi, explaining his difficult past and his insistence on marrying her despite her advanced breast cancer to give her "a complete life." During the conversation, Hai Lan mentioned that Gao Yi's father, who went to prison when Gao Yi was young, is now suffering from many illnesses. This shocked Jiang Hu, who had always been told by her own father that Gao Yi's parents were both deceased.

Disturbed, Jiang Hu asked Yue Shan to investigate the true circumstances of Gao Yi's parents and his adoption. Yue Shan agreed to look into it. Meanwhile, Mei Shaowang met with Xu Si at Baoxing Investment, stating that their client Aneda's next acquisition target was Teng Yue and that their contact, Tang Ya, wanted to accelerate the process. When Yue Shan later arrived at Baoxing to deliver financial reports, she saw Mei Shaowang and realized a corporate takeover was imminent.

She directly asked Xu Si about Baoxing's partnership with Jingyang Capital, and he confirmed it was for Aneda. Yue Shan then asked if he had warned the inexperienced Jiang Hu about the implications of such M&A activities, and he admitted he had not.
