Rising With The Wind Episode 19 Recap
> Rising With The Wind Recap
Yang Jian offered Zhaoyang a bank card, knowing she was in need, but she declined it and told him he didn't need to visit so often. Disappointed, Yang Jian left, sensing her intent to create distance. Later that evening, Zhaoyang found he had left her scallion pancakes, recalling a conversation where she had told Jiang Hu how much she missed the ones sold by an elderly vendor near her old school, a detail Yang Jian had remembered.
Meanwhile, Xu Si met with Song Zhi to discuss Zhaoyang's potential collaboration with Teng Yue. Xu Si advocated for a lenient strategy: incubating influencers at the front end while building long-term brand partnerships at the back end. Amused, Song Zhi realized that the person who had ended Xu Si's four-year romantic hiatus was not the popular influencer Zhaoyang, but Jiang Hu, an heiress from a fallen family. Xu Si did not deny it.
At Teng Yue, a meeting between Pei Zhiyuan, Jiang Hu, and Yue Shan was interrupted by a call that left Pei Zhiyuan looking grim; the Market Supervision Administration had found excessive levels of Phthalates in their shoe eyelets. The eyelets came from a supplier introduced by Liu Jun. Although there was no official announcement yet, negative comments were already spreading online, which Yue Shan was certain was Liu Jun's doing.
Jiang Hu took immediate action, ordering the destruction of the nearly six-thousand-pair batch and a formal explanation to be written to the bureau. She accepted responsibility for her inexperience in vetting suppliers, though Yue Shan reassured her. Despite concerns about the financial loss and the newly rehired workers, Jiang Hu was determined they would overcome the crisis together. Seizing the moment, Zhang Wenshan called Jiang Hu.
Though his company, Free Unicorn, used a different supplier, he claimed their brand was also affected and that he would deduct a "fine" from their final payment to appease his board. He also paused all future orders until Teng Yue resolved the issue, prompting Jiang Hu to accuse him of taking advantage of their misfortune. Dedicated to helping, Xu Si discussed the situation with Du Weiye, stating it was not yet time to give up on Teng Yue.
Using a chess metaphor, he revealed he had already built a "bridge" for them to succeed and that Jiang Hu’s identity as the daughter of Jiang Qisheng, the former "King of Apparel," could be a compelling story for the market. He then instructed Wu Guanglei to inform Teng Yue that their next quarter's performance, particularly the profit margin, would be temporarily excluded from assessment.
Xu Si explained this would allow them to increase marketing expenses without penalty, admitting he was also doing it to convince himself to look at their overall performance at year's end. Master Zhang informed Jiang Hu that Baoxing had suspended their quarterly KPI review. Realizing Xu Si was behind it, Jiang Hu called to thank him. He replied that a verbal thanks was insufficient and she must accompany him to a dinner that evening.
Overruling her excuse of a factory meeting, he insisted that as her boss, it was an order. For the dinner, Jiang Hu wore her only remaining dress, having sold the rest to support Teng Yue. In the car, Xu Si listed the attendees: a business reporter, several finance and industry bloggers, and a venture capital podcast host. Before they arrived, Yue Shan called, advising Jiang Hu to be mindful of her interactions with Xu Si.
At the dinner, Jiang Hu confidently presented Teng Yue's philosophy of handling all design, R&D, and production in-house. She spoke of her belief in acting first and learning from mistakes rather than being paralyzed by preparation. She sincerely apologized for the recent supplier issue, promising it wouldn't happen again and announcing a new tracking system for supply chain transparency. She also teased the upcoming "Revival Series," designed by someone who would surely make headlines.
Simultaneously, Xiao Wu from Xixingji E-commerce, Yang Jian's store, posted a video guaranteeing no faulty shoes would remain on the market, announcing a product upgrade, and promising to send a pair of the new Revival Series to customers. After the dinner, Xu Si saw a wedding celebration with a violinist outside the restaurant and pulled Jiang Hu into a dance. He noted her hesitation, and she acknowledged their professional compatibility and his personal tolerance.
Xu Si then asked if she was afraid he would kiss her, confessing he wanted to. Jiang Hu admitted that if he did, she wouldn't know how to face him afterward and quickly left, saying it was late. That night, neither could sleep. Unable to wait, Xu Si drove to the Teng Yue factory early the next morning, surprising Da Cheng with his arrival. He went straight to Jiang Hu's office.
As Jiang Hu was coming up the stairs, Xu Si met her, pulled her into a hug, and kissed her. Flustered, Jiang Hu apologized for any misunderstanding, but Xu Si dismissed it, stating he had made his intention to pursue her clear. He asked her to consider him, but she said she couldn't think about it right now and asked him to leave. Xu Si agreed, promising to wait for her answer.
