Rising With The Wind Episode 15 Recap
> Rising With The Wind Recap
At the Teng Yue factory, Liu Jun was found playing cards with other workers during work hours. The factory director, Pei Zhiyuan, reprimanded him and threatened to fire him on the spot. Liu Jun retorted, pointing out that Pei Zhiyuan himself played the stock market at work. Jiang Hu intervened, addressing Pei as "Uncle" and de-escalating the situation.
While acknowledging that gambling was wrong, she reasoned that the workers needed relaxation and that Pei's threat was made in anger, convincing everyone to return to work. Shortly after, Xu Si from Baoxing Investment arrived to see Jiang Hu and review the factory's finances. During their conversation, he subtly alluded to the previous night, teasing her about her poor behavior when she drinks.
Confused and having forgotten the events, Jiang Hu admitted to having only a little to drink with Yue Shan. Furious that his authority was undermined, Pei Zhiyuan confronted Jiang Hu for not firing Liu Jun. He accused her of being a fence-sitter and avoiding problems, declaring that if Liu Jun stayed, he would leave permanently, calling the man a "menace" who would bring down the factory.
Jiang Hu met with the finance director, Yue Shan, to discuss a new salary and performance bonus structure, which Yue Shan was already preparing. Yue Shan also raised a cash flow issue: their best insole supplier, Mr. Qian, required full payment upfront for large orders. To solve this, Jiang Hu asked her friend Yang Jian to vouch for her with Mr. Qian, promising to pay the full amount as soon as she received a payment from another client, Zhang Wenshan.
Yang Jian agreed to help. Following this, Jiang Hu held a factory meeting to announce two new policies: first, all inventory movements must now be pre-approved by the accounting department, and second, Zhang Sheng, a 40-year veteran worker, was promoted to deputy director. The new inventory control policy directly threatened Liu Jun's illicit activities, prompting him to start poaching workers by promising them significantly higher wages at other factories.
Xu Si, back from a business trip, invited Jiang Hu to dinner, and she accepted. However, as she was about to leave, she received an urgent call from Wu, a security guard at the factory, and rushed over. Meanwhile, Xu Si waited for her at the restaurant, Bo's. He tried calling her repeatedly but couldn't get through, growing increasingly frustrated as he waited alone until the restaurant was closing.
At the factory, Wu told Jiang Hu that a tricycle had entered the premises. They hid and watched as Liu Jun attempted to leave with a tricycle full of stolen raw materials, which he claimed was garbage. Jiang Hu confronted him, and as Liu Jun became aggressive, Yang Jian and his friends arrived and started recording the incident on their phones.
Caught red-handed, Liu Jun tearfully begged for forgiveness, citing his family's financial hardship, including a son with cerebral palsy, and his twenty years of service. Jiang Hu decided not to call the police but fired Liu Jun, telling him to be gone by morning. As Yang Jian's friends celebrated catching the thief, Jiang Hu suddenly remembered her dinner with Xu Si.
Realizing Xu Si would be much harder to appease than Liu Jun, she apologized to Yang Jian's group, promised them a meal another time, and rushed off to find him. She found Xu Si waiting outside the now-closed restaurant. Guilty, she took him to a convenience store and made him a custom meal from a pineapple bun, sausage, and crab sticks, along with a handmade milk tea.
While she was preparing the food, Xu Si noticed a cut on her hand, and he immediately bought bandages and carefully dressed the wound for her. Suddenly, a nearby garbage bin caught fire. The sight of the flames sent Xu Si into a panic, his face turning pale. Noticing his distress, Jiang Hu tried to calm him.
Later, he confided in her that the incident had triggered a traumatic memory from when he was five: he had witnessed a massive fire at his family's factory where his father and uncle were trapped and killed. Jiang Hu comforted him, assuring him that new, happy memories would eventually help ease the pain of the past. Meanwhile, Song Zhi took designer Xiang Chaoyang to a meeting with Ren Bing, the marketing director of Free Unicorn.
Ren praised Xiang Chaoyang's work but said it lacked "vision" and showed her designs by an Italian designer. He suggested she "draw on" their work, which Xiang Chaoyang correctly interpreted as a request to copy them. Ren then reframed his suggestion, calling it "homage and reference."
