Rising With The Wind Episode 12 Recap
> Rising With The Wind Recap
Jiang Hu confronts her uncle about the factory workers' wages. He explains that since there was no work for a month, he paid them half their salary out of kindness, defending it as necessary cost-cutting. Jiang Hu argues that they must find ways to increase revenue rather than just cutting expenses to the point where workers cannot make a living.
After her uncle complains about the difficulty of managing the factory, Jiang Hu learns that while Zhang Sheng is the master craftsman, he has focused solely on the art of shoe lasts for the past decade, leaving management to his apprentice, Liu Jun. Her uncle describes the master, Zhang Sheng, as honest and stubborn, while the apprentice, Liu Jun, is slick but skilled. Jiang Hu proposes having both master and apprentice manage production, with Pei Zhiyuan handling daily factory management.
She appoints herself as Sales Director, setting a KPI of 980,000 yuan in the first quarter, a promise she made to Xu Si; failure to meet it gives him the right to replace her. Pei Zhiyuan is skeptical, speculating she has set an impossible goal as a way to gracefully fail and offload the troubled company to Xu Si. They discuss the lack of a designer, e-commerce personnel, and a CFO.
Jiang Hu plans to recruit a designer and hints that she has a candidate for e-commerce operations. Her uncle urges her to find an accountant immediately. Noting her father's 100-day death anniversary is approaching, Jiang Hu plans to recruit Yue Shan, who will likely visit the grave. Her uncle dismisses the idea as a daydream, stating they could never afford Yue Shan's previous high salary.
Jiang Hu then leaves to follow up on sales channels, as the shoes are selling well in local supermarkets and grocery stores. To resolve Zhou Suqing's debt and deter her from future borrowing, Yang Jian creates a fake Canadian skilled immigration application for Zhaoyang and shows it to her mother. Panicked at the thought of being abandoned, Zhou Suqing is then visited by a lawyer, Chen Chang, who is actually Yang Jian’s friend.
Chen Chang pretends to be the lawyer for the lender, Wang Hua (Lili's mom), and serves Zhou Suqing a letter demanding repayment within a week to avoid a lawsuit. Terrified, Zhou Suqing agrees to cooperate. Yang Jian then personally pays Wang Hua the 100,000 yuan debt for Zhou Suqing, with Chen Chang acting as a witness.
He sternly warns Zhou Suqing to stop making risky investments, reminding her that his help is a favor, not an obligation, and that if Zhaoyang leaves, she will be truly alone. Zhou Suqing is left feeling distressed and abandoned. Jiang Hu summons Yang Jian and gives him a check for 20,000 yuan as the proxy operations fee for selling Teng Yue's shoes. She then formally offers him the exclusive online agency for Teng Yue.
Yang Jian is hesitant and says he needs time to consider it. Later, Pei Zhiyuan reports to Jiang Hu that secondary distribution channels like community supermarkets and grocery stores have suddenly pulled Teng Yue's shoes from their shelves. They conclude that despite the superior shoe last technology, which even Free Unicorn used, the styles are too old and lack modern appeal.
Jiang Hu then looks at a silver award trophy from the St. Laurent Design Competition, getting an idea for a designer. Xu Si arrives at the Teng Yue factory and is dismayed to find no security guard and workers playing cards during work hours. He criticizes Jiang Hu for her poor management and the many vacant key positions. Jiang Hu argues that building a business in a physical industry takes time and asks for patience.
Frustrated by what he perceives as slow execution, Xu Si leaves and instructs his assistant, Wu Guanglei, to find reliable operations teams to potentially take over, stating his goal is to achieve the fastest and best results for Teng Yue, not to destroy it. Zhaoyang comes home to find her mother, Zhou Suqing, acting unusually kind.
Zhou Suqing claims to have paid off her debt and promises in writing to stop speculating on stocks, all in an attempt to convince Zhaoyang not to immigrate. Suspicious, Zhaoyang asks Yang Jian what he did, but he deflects. Zhaoyang later learns from her colleague Qi that Jiang Hu had offered Yang Jian the role of Teng Yue's online operator. She encourages Yang Jian to accept, explaining that while Jiang Hu can be difficult, she is in a tough situation.
Zhaoyang says she is ready to let go of the past and move on. Xu Si's mother, Fang Moping, falls at her factory. Xu Si rushes her to the hospital, where she is diagnosed with a lumbar disc herniation requiring surgery. Stubbornly prioritizing the factory's operations, she refuses hospitalization, suspecting Xu Si is trying to shut her factory down. Xu Si insists on scheduling the surgery and asks his aunt to manage the factory for the week.
On the 100th day of her father's passing, Jiang Hu visits his grave and reflects on her struggles. Yue Shan also arrives to pay her respects. Yue Shan begins to tell Jiang Hu a story from the past, recalling how an investigation into an individual business owner illegally selling stock led the police to uncover that Gao Zheng, her father's most trusted friend, was embezzling from the company.
