Ye Yunshang, accompanied by Meijiao, sought out Detective Qi Fei to visit Mu Xingchen in the quarantine area. Qi Fei promptly granted them access, instructing them to speak quickly while he kept watch outside. Mu Xingchen greeted Ye Yunshang, asking about her well-being. Meijiao urged him to return to the Shenmu Clan, as the Sacred Tree was gravely ill, and advised him to use his Qing Nang skills to escape.
Mu Xingchen refused to leave Ye Yunshang behind, but she insisted she would be fine. Shortly after their arrival, a strong scent of gasoline filled the air. Moments later, a masked assailant drenched the area in fuel and ignited a massive fire, trapping Mu Xingchen, Ye Yunshang, and other patients inside. As flames engulfed the building and panic erupted, Ye Yunshang, feeling their situation was hopeless, took Mu Xingchen's hand and asked if he loved her.
He looked at her tenderly and confessed that he had loved her since the first time they met. Ye Yunshang smiled, then succumbed to the smoke and collapsed in his arms. Mu Xingchen vowed he would not let her die. As the fire intensified and many patients fell unconscious, Mu Xingchen, to save them, unleashed his Qing Nang skills.
He helped the dazed patients to their feet and guided them towards an exit, but the immense exertion left him severely weakened. As they escaped, a grateful patient warned Mu Xingchen that Qiao Zhen Tian had intended to harm him and accused Qiao Zhen Tian of orchestrating the fire. Mu Xingchen, focused on immediate escape, urged everyone to find a safer route. Meanwhile, Qiao Zhen Tian arrived at the scene with his men.
He initially seemed unconcerned, remarking that the fire solved his problem of dealing with Mu Xingchen. However, his attitude changed drastically when his cousin informed him that Ye Yunshang was trapped inside. Qiao Zhen Tian frantically ordered his men to extinguish the fire, threatening them when they reported the blaze was too overwhelming to enter. As Mu Xingchen and the survivors finally emerged, a gunman appeared and aimed at Mu Xingchen. Ye Yunshang instinctively stepped in front of him.
Qiao Zhen Tian then pushed Ye Yunshang out of the way and shielded her, taking a bullet in his back. Despite his injury, Qiao Zhen Tian denied setting the fire, but Ye Yunshang confronted him about his previous attempts to harm Mu Xingchen. Qiao Zhen Tian ordered his men to pursue the fleeing assailant. Mu Xingchen fell into a critical unconscious state, his organs beginning to fail.
Chu Tianyao worried deeply, noting that while Qiao Zhen Tian's injury was not life-threatening, Mu Xingchen's survival was a miracle. She questioned Ye Yunshang about the events in the fire, as everyone else had emerged unharmed. Ye Yunshang claimed she had fainted and knew nothing, leaving Chu Tianyao suspicious. Later, Ye Yunshang sat by Mu Xingchen's bedside, desperately praying for his recovery and offering her own life or years to save him.
Chu Tianyao, observing her, gently suggested Ye Yunshang rest, implying her presence might hinder Mu Xingchen's treatment. Mayor Shangguan, identified as Shangguan Qing, arrived with Shangguan Wenxuan to visit Mu Xingchen, commending his heroism in saving the patients. Chu Tianyao voiced her concerns about Mu Xingchen's deteriorating condition, but Shangguan Wenxuan tried to reassure her. Shangguan Qing then instructed Shangguan Wenxuan to escort Chu Tianyao to rest, stating he would take over.
Once alone with Mu Xingchen, Shangguan Qing revealed his identity as Mu Xingchen's uncle. He reminded Mu Xingchen of a past favor, recounting how Mu Xingchen had saved his life after Shangguan Qing was gravely injured by his own father for attempting to steal a sacred fruit to save someone named Xiaodie, and how Mu Xingchen had helped him escape.
Declaring their past debt now settled, Shangguan Qing began to teach Mu Xingchen advanced Qing Nang skills to heal his severe internal injuries. Mu Xingchen, displaying remarkable aptitude, quickly mastered the techniques, astonishing Shangguan Qing who noted that such mastery typically takes years. Shangguan Qing then issued a stern warning: Mu Xingchen's public use of Qing Nang skills had compromised his identity.
He cautioned Mu Xingchen against ever revealing Shangguan Qing's secret, threatening to destroy the entire Ye family if he did. Mu Xingchen, in turn, demanded that Shangguan Qing cease cultivating killer wasps, to which Shangguan Qing agreed, asserting he no longer needed them. Mu Xingchen soon awoke, fully recovered. Ye Yunshang was overcome with joy. He attributed his rapid healing to the medicine she had given him and explained that Mayor Shangguan had left after seeing his improved condition.
Later, as they sat together, Ye Yunshang subtly sought to test his feelings. Mu Xingchen gently took her hand, and she naturally leaned her head on his shoulder, their affection for each other deepening. Ye Yunshang then shared a dream of a vast ocean of flowers, wishing they could remain there forever, free from worries, a sentiment Mu Xingchen shared.
Meanwhile, Chu Tianyao, suspecting that her godfather, Shangguan Qing, had secretly healed Mu Xingchen despite his denials, visited him with gifts to express her gratitude. Shangguan Wenxuan, witnessing Chu Tianyao's devotion to Mu Xingchen, confronted her, reminding her that Mu Xingchen's heart belonged to Ye Yunshang and urging her to stop pursuing a love that would never be reciprocated, drawing parallels to his own unrequited feelings for her. Chu Tianyao, however, firmly reiterated that she saw Shangguan Wenxuan only as a brother and that Mu Xingchen was the only person she loved. Her words left Shangguan Wenxuan distraught.
