> Oh! My Emperor Season 1 Recap

Following the ambush at Dragon Chasm, Prince Chen continued his pursuit of the remaining attacker via a shortcut. Meanwhile, His Majesty and Prince Tang returned to the palace. General Chu, arriving late to the scene, quickly ordered her troops to surround the area and arrest all the suspects. Luo Feifei, left awkwardly behind, was forcibly taken away by General Chu's soldiers. Luo Feifei found herself back in the familiar dungeon, much to the amusement and familiarity of the jailers.

They treated her like an old friend, offering her pig's feet, peanuts, and other comforts, making her feel right at home. Meanwhile, Prince Chen learned that Luo Feifei had been imprisoned again and immediately rushed to the palace. He confronted His Majesty, questioning why Luo Feifei was jailed. His Majesty feigned ignorance, claiming he had only ordered all suspects to be held.

Prince Chen criticized His Majesty for his ingratitude, reminding him that Luo Feifei had saved his life during the ambush. He declared his intention to take her from the dungeon immediately, regardless of His Majesty's orders. Observing His Majesty's unusual worry, Prince Tang suggested to his brother that they summon Luo Feifei to the palace, believing it was a fated connection.

Though His Majesty dismissed the romantic notion, he was intrigued by the idea and tasked Prince Tang with devising a plan to bring her into the palace. Prince Chen arrived at the dungeon to find Luo Feifei not suffering, but rather happily playing cards with the jailers, even resorting to cheating. Amused, Prince Chen noted that she seemed perfectly fine. Luo Feifei, eager for release, joked with the guards about raising the stakes and playing at her home next time.

Prince Chen called her a "little money-grubber" as he took her back to his residence. His Majesty later invited Prince Chen for a game of chess, which served as a thinly veiled negotiation. His Majesty praised Prince Chen's strategic thinking, both in chess and in life, asserting that "the realm belongs to the Emperor, as do all the people in it."

He then used this very maxim to justify his desire to summon Luo Feifei to the palace as a Rank Six Astrologist, ostensibly to reward her for saving his life. Prince Chen attempted to object, arguing that Luo Feifei was clumsy, rash, and undeserving of the title, and also referred to her as his "beloved dancing girl." However, His Majesty systematically countered each objection, progressively lowering the proposed rank and relentlessly reiterating his own phrase to support his demands.

Prince Chen even pointed out that His Majesty had said those words before. Finally, His Majesty threatened to banish her as a "Constellation Slave" to the border if Prince Chen continued to refuse. Cornered, Prince Chen reluctantly yielded, entrusting Luo Feifei to His Majesty's care. With his objective achieved, His Majesty abruptly ended the chess game.

Prince Chen then spoke with a reluctant Luo Feifei, who was complaining about her lack of sleep and expressed her strong aversion to entering the palace. She feared the palace's inherent schemes and His Majesty's past hostility towards her, wondering if she would be killed there. Prince Chen explained that His Majesty insisted she enter.

Luo Feifei then questioned Prince Chen if his precognition could provide her with insight into current unusual celestial phenomena, specifically when he would experience new visions. Prince Chen explained that his visions were passively triggered and he could not actively control or produce many at once, which disappointed her. He then informed her that she was to enter the palace the very next day.

Still disturbed by the distinct Ophiuchus symbols she had observed on the attackers in Dragon Chasm, which differed from her own Constellation Stamp, Luo Feifei sought out Xiang Batian for answers. Xiang Batian, revealing his own unique symbol as the elder of Ophiuchus, then told Luo Feifei that she was, in fact, the Constellation Lord of Ophiuchus. Luo Feifei reacted with profound disbelief and denial, protesting that she was "nobody" and could not bear such a significant identity.

As Xiang Batian attempted to kowtow to her in reverence, she struggled to pull away, rejecting the revelation and declaring her desire to simply return home and not be found again. Xiang Batian tried to explain that "there isn't any kind of energy that's born for destruction."
