Love Through a Millennium Episode 9 Recap
> Love Through a Millennium Recap
Lin Xiangxiang and Gong Ming shared a sweet farewell, promising to meet again in a month. Meanwhile, Han Yufei was visibly upset to see the couple ring on Lin Xiangxiang’s hand, pointedly asking if the person who bought it couldn't even afford a diamond ring. News soon broke of Han Yufei’s late-night rendezvous with a new model, "Jela baby," a story the director lamented as another scandal.
Lin Xiangxiang confronted Han Yufei, remarking that his taste was still the same and asking if he was still considered a "playboy." Han Yufei vehemently denied the reports, insisting they were fake and that he hadn't even looked at the woman. Lin Xiangxiang dismissed his excuses, stating his actions were now meaningless to her.
Han Yufei, however, persisted, expressing his desire to start anew and claiming he could treat her well, a revelation that surprised the director, who then realized they had been a couple before. Separately, Jin Jing attempted to endear herself to Wu Tianxiu. Misunderstanding their relationship, Wu Tianxiu thought Jin Jing and Xiaonan were a couple. Jin Jing quickly clarified, disparaging Xiaonan as an annoying person who constantly called her and sabotaged her dates.
She asserted she would never be with him, further slandering Xiaonan by describing him as a sloppy drunk who kissed people randomly, regardless of gender. Later, Han Yufei arranged to meet Lin Xiangxiang at their old spot. He apologized for his past infidelity, admitting he had been immature and a "playboy." He confessed that he initially felt relieved after their breakup, finding her nagging burdensome, but soon realized he constantly missed her.
He pleaded with her to return, promising to change. Lin Xiangxiang acknowledged his good qualities and the beautiful moments of their past relationship, despite its unhappy end, and thanked him. However, she firmly stated that she now sought a happy ending with Gong Ming and told Han Yufei to let go. After Lin Xiangxiang rode her motorcycle home, she suddenly felt dizzy and fainted, causing a motorcycle accident that led to her hospitalization.
At the same time in the Western Han Dynasty, Gong Ming was in grave danger, pursued by Zi Xiu and his men. Zi Xiu's sword struck the jade pendant on Gong Ming's body, destroying it. Following its destruction, Gong Ming cried out in agony, clutching his head, and gradually lost all his memories of the modern world. Ying Yue, arriving with bodyguards, rescued the unconscious Gong Ming.
When Gong Ming awoke days later, he felt as though he had merely experienced a "Zhou Gong's dream," unable to recall the dream or any specific person from it, and completely forgetting his time in the modern era. Ying Yue informed him that he was at a post on his way to a place of exile and explained that he had been unjustly accused of killing a Taoist priest and involvement in a witchcraft incident related to the deposed empress.
Gong Ming vaguely remembered being attacked by Zi Xiu in a bamboo forest but couldn't understand how he ended up there or why he was exiled. When Lin Xiangxiang awoke in the hospital, she was informed that filming had to be postponed due to her accident. Han Yufei arrived, introducing himself as her boyfriend, a claim echoed by Jin Jing and Xiaonan.
Lin Xiangxiang vehemently asserted that Gong Ming was her boyfriend, but everyone claimed to have no memory of him. Thinking they were pranking her, Lin Xiangxiang was told by the doctor that her reactions were due to a concussion-induced stress response, possibly leading to "false memories" or amnesia, and recommended she see a psychiatrist. Han Yufei asked if she didn't remember their reconciliation, but Lin Xiangxiang accused him of bribing everyone to gaslight her.
She reminded Xiaonan of Gong Ming, recounting how they bought her gifts together, but Xiaonan insisted he didn't know anyone named Gong Ming and that he only opposed her rekindling a relationship with Han Yufei. Jin Jing, however, reiterated that Lin Xiangxiang had caused a stir at the airport over "a pervert" (referring to Gong Ming) and the scandal had made headlines.
Distraught, Lin Xiangxiang showed Xiaonan the couple ring, claiming she and Gong Ming chose it, only for Xiaonan to insist he accompanied her to buy it for Han Yufei. She then asked a nurse about a "pervert" in ancient clothes she encountered during a previous hospital visit, but the nurse stated it was her first visit.
Desperate for proof, Lin Xiangxiang visited the ring store, where the clerk confirmed she bought the ring with a man, but identified him as Han Yufei. After reviewing the surveillance footage, which showed no trace of Gong Ming, Lin Xiangxiang broke down, feeling isolated as everyone, including Nana, denied Gong Ming's existence. In the Han Dynasty, Gong Ming was tenderly cared for by Ying Yue. He recounted his fragmented memories, trying to understand how he came to be exiled.
Ying Yue explained he had been framed for murder and witchcraft, only to clear his name using the jade pendant. Gong Ming desperately searched for the jade pendant, but it was nowhere to be found, and his guards reported not seeing it when they rescued him. Gong Ming noticed a Red rope tied tightly around his wrist, a mysterious object he couldn't recall or remove, yet he hoped it was connected to his lost memories.
Ying Yue, concerned for his recovery, suggested they delay their journey to the place of exile, but Gong Ming insisted on returning promptly to receive the emperor’s edict. She lovingly tended to his injuries, wrapping him in a blanket. He expressed his gratitude, admitting he felt like a child in her care, and Ying Yue reciprocated that he had always looked after her too, fostering a subtle emotional connection between them.
Back in the modern world, Lin Xiangxiang, still in the hospital, remained deeply distressed. She recalled all her vivid memories with Gong Ming and, overwhelmed with grief, cried in Jin Jing's arms. Later, Han Yufei visited again, showing her photographs of them together in Hangzhou, eating Dongpo pork, attempting to convince her that these were their shared memories and that "Gong Ming" was a figment of her imagination.
Lin Xiangxiang’s cherished memories of Gong Ming began to blur, morphing into Han Yufei's image in some instances, causing her profound confusion and leading her to question the veracity of her own recollections. Han Yufei encouraged her to continue treatment, assuring her she would eventually remember everything.
