A group led by Xiong Hei forcefully dragged a heavily injured Gou Ya to Lv Xian's clinic, having struggled to capture him. Lv Xian, relieved that Nie Jiuluo had been moved earlier, observed Gou Ya's serious wounds and the ongoing abuse from Xiong Hei's men, who demanded Gou Ya be revived immediately. Meanwhile, Lin Ling showed Yan Tuo a needle mark on her arm, explaining she found it the day before.

She recalled a strange, hazy sensation the previous night, as if she had passed out, and felt someone gently touching her. Yan Tuo, suspecting his mother Lin Xirou's involvement, calmly reassured Lin Ling that she might be exhausted and dreaming, but Lin Ling insisted it felt real. He apologized for being unavailable when she tried to call him and urged her not to confront Lin Xirou or reveal her suspicions, promising to resolve the situation.

After leaving Lin Ling, Yan Tuo visited Lin Xirou's home, where she was meeting with fellow Earth Fiends Yang Zheng, Feng Mi, and Li Yueying. Yan Tuo deliberately greeted them, prompting Feng Mi, who was taken with his appearance, to introduce everyone. She then noticed the bracelet on his wrist, a gift from Nie Jiuluo, and reached for it with interest. Yan Tuo quickly pulled his hand away and made an excuse to leave.

As soon as he was gone, Feng Mi enthusiastically told Lin Xirou she had fallen for him at first sight. Later, Yan Tuo called Lv Xian, who reported that Xiong Hei's men were preparing something at a farm. Yan Tuo urgently asked Lv Xian to keep Gou Ya at the clinic longer, suggesting he keep Gou Ya sedated. Lv Xian, after some playful negotiation about payment, agreed to find a way.

In the operating room, Lv Xian informed Xiong Hei that Gou Ya's wounds were superficial but his wrist required extensive recovery. He tried to persuade Xiong Hei to leave for a meal, but Xiong Hei insisted on waiting to take Gou Ya immediately upon waking. Lv Xian then attempted to give Gou Ya a stronger IV fluid, leading to Xiong Hei’s suspicion. Lv Xian feigned anger, defending his loyalty to Lin Xirou and the Roadsound Group, which had raised him.

He argued that he often treated Xiong Hei’s men for free, despite the risks to his own business, Wanbao Tower. He explained the stronger medicine, which could damage the brain, was to quicken Gou Ya's departure. Convinced that Gou Ya was "brainless," Xiong Hei approved the stronger medicine and asked Lv Xian to order him some food. Yan Tuo, wearing a gas mask, infiltrated the farm by joining a cleaning crew.

He eagerly took over tasks when two workers tried to pass them off, causing them to leave. Lv Xian then sent a text to Yan Tuo, informing him that Gou Ya, despite the strong medication, had woken up and was taken away by Xiong Hei. Yan Tuo inquired if Lin Xirou would spare Gou Ya, to which Lv Xian replied that sparing him would only lead to trouble later.

Yan Tuo successfully located the farm base, where he saw people lying in molds, indicating mysterious experiments were underway. He hid as Feng Mi and Yang Zheng arrived. Gou Ya was brought before Lin Xirou, Xiong Hei, Feng Mi, Yang Zheng, and Li Yueying. He tearfully apologized to Lin Xirou for his unauthorized escape. Xiong Hei suggested keeping Gou Ya as experimental material due to their current manpower shortage.

However, Lin Xirou dismissed the idea, stating that while minor infractions might be tolerated, Gou Ya's reckless escape and near exposure of their operations endangered everyone, violating her absolute bottom line: no interference from humans and no defiance from their own kin. As Gou Ya defiantly bared his fangs at Lin Xirou, Feng Mi swiftly stabbed him in the throat, declaring such an act intolerable. Lin Xirou then commanded everyone to prepare.

Hidden, Yan Tuo recorded the gruesome event as Lin Xirou plunged a knife into Gou Ya's head. After the execution, Lin Xirou expressed hope that this first execution of a kin would be their last, before turning her attention to external threats. She then inquired about Jiang Baichuan's status, learning from a subordinate that Xiong Hei was taking good care of him at the Rare Stone Garden.

Meanwhile, at the South Mountain Hunters' base, several members expressed their desire to leave, citing fear after encountering humanoid Earth Fiends and learning that their leader, Xing Shen, secretly kept a live Earth Fiend at the base. One member tearfully stated his fear of death and leaving his family behind. Xing Shen set up a cauldron and instructed anyone wishing to leave to place their bone plaque inside, and a few members complied.

Just then, Yu Rong, the successor of the Ghost Whip, arrived. Seeing her, a hunter excitedly told Xing Shen they had a new hope, but Yu Rong dismissed him, stating they could introduce themselves later. Yu Rong then directly challenged Xing Shen, accusing him of stealing the Whip Clan's duties by secretly taming an Earth Fiend. Xing Shen explained he had replicated 70% to 80% of the Earth Fiends' communication frequency, believing it could be a powerful weapon.

Yu Rong, however, was skeptical, noting the significant difference between driving away marine animals and fully controlling Earth Fiends. After another member voted to keep the creature, arguing it was safest there, Xing Shen stated their immediate priority was rescuing Jiang Baichuan and he had no time to deal with the captive Earth Fiend. Yan Tuo went to Lv Xian's clinic to "repay a debt," bringing him an expensive suit.

Although Lv Xian suspected Yan Tuo was "up to no good," he kept it. Claiming to worry about Lv Xian's gloomy life, Yan Tuo invited him on an outing. He then dressed Lv Xian in an old scholar's robe and hat, introducing him as "Master Wang" at the entrance of the Rare Stone Garden.

Despite the gatekeeper's insistence that the garden was closed, Yan Tuo, leveraging his position as General Manager and "Master Wang's" supposed influence on city planning, pressured the gatekeeper to allow them entry. Inside, Lv Xian, as Master Wang, advised Yan Tuo on his "mother" by suggesting she avoid eating anything with "wings." When Yan Tuo mentioned his mother was a vegetarian, Lv Xian quickly pivoted, claiming he was testing him.

He then pretended to feel faint, babbling about omens and his ancestors calling him. Yan Tuo seized the opportunity, loudly calling for help and creating a distraction that allowed him to slip away to the backyard. There, he discovered Jiang Baichuan, who was complaining that his steamed buns were being made with unleavened dough.
