> Love on the Turquoise Land Recap

A radio program called "Midnight Story Hour" began playing, narrating the fantasy adventure of "Turquoise Land." The story described a mysterious land where bloodthirsty Earth Fiends once lurked. An ancient group, the South Mountain Hunters, had sealed these fiends beneath dark iron gates. Generations of these three clans—Blade, Hound, and Whip—had monitored supernatural threats, dutifully patrolling the mountains every four years to protect humanity.

While many now believed the fiends were vanquished, the broadcast warned that Earth Fiends might have infiltrated humankind, waiting to shatter the peace. Nie Jiuluo arrived in South Mountain by taxi. Her driver, Mr. Sun, recounted local legends, including tales of "child-eating mountain fiends" from the desolate Nanba Weald. He spoke of a deranged old woman who adopted orphans but was, in fact, a man-eating fiend.

Villagers later built a Temple of the Righteous Lord, also known as the Temple of Zhong Kui, to ward off such evils. Nie Jiuluo pressed Mr. Sun on the specifics of the deity's image, pointing out that as a "renowned artist," she was seeking something truly unique, not typical attractions. Meanwhile, at the Roadsound Welfare Home, General Manager Yan Tuo of Roadsound Pharmaceuticals, accompanied by Xiong, was welcomed by Director Zheng. Yan Tuo introduced Gou Yan as a new teacher.

During Gou Yan's brief and tense introduction, a voice whispered to him to "keep close watch" on a child in a green outfit, referring to the child as "your blood bag." Yan Tuo explained that his visit was primarily to bring Gou Yan and offer Roadsound Group's support to the community. He politely declined Director Zheng's invitation for dinner, stating they had other commitments. Director Zheng then asked Ms. Wang, who had a bandaged hand, to show Gou Yan around.

Later, at the abandoned Temple of Zhong Kui, Nie Jiuluo was cleaning a statue while on a phone call with Mr. Lu. He chastised her about the 40% drop in sales for her "Ninja Duck" toys, demanding three new designs by the end of the month. Mr. Lu argued that the character, though her creation, now belonged to the customers and fans, drawing parallels to popular cultural icons.

Nie Jiuluo corrected him, emphasizing that the character's name was "Hermit Duck," not "Ninja Duck." She expressed her desire to create genuine sculptural art instead of mass-produced toys, leading Mr. Lu to accuse her of "burning the bridge she crossed" after having gained wealth and recognition from those very toys. As the sun set and children were called for dinner at the welfare home, Yan Tuo was discreetly exploring the back garden, narrowly avoiding detection by the director.

Nearby, Mr. Sun, Nie Jiuluo's driver, went to the restroom and heard unsettling sounds. Investigating, he found women's clothing hanging from a tree. He began recording with his phone but was suddenly attacked by an unseen entity. Nie Jiuluo, still at the temple, heard Mr. Sun's terrified screams. She then witnessed Gou Yan transform into a monstrous creature, furiously chasing and biting Mr. Sun. Mr. Sun managed to flee the forest, stumbling into a field, which triggered an alarm.

The loud noise caused Gou Ya, who had been pursuing him, to stop short. Nie Jiuluo searched for Mr. Sun and found his car empty. As she reached for her phone to contact him, Mr. Sun suddenly appeared, jumped into the car, and frantically drove away, abandoning Nie Jiuluo. Simultaneously, in a room, Yan Tuo was searching for documents when Gou Ya fiercely attacked him.

Yan Tuo fought back, pushing Gou Ya down a flight of stairs, and mistakenly believed he had killed him. Nie Jiuluo eventually arrived at the welfare home, finding the front gate locked. She walked towards the back, seeking assistance. There, she saw Yan Tuo stealthily placing a body into a car trunk, though she couldn't discern the details. She approached Yan Tuo for help, but he coldly ignored her. She then continued towards the back of the yard.

Soon after, Xiong arrived and injected Gou Ya, observing blood on Gou Ya's mouth, which confirmed his greatest fears. Yan Tuo explained to Xiong that Gou Ya had lunged at him "covered in blood." Xiong, seeing Yan Tuo unharmed, questioned where the blood originated. In the back mountain, Xiong then discovered a dead woman, clearly bitten by Gou Ya, and found Mr. Sun's phone lying next to her body. Later, Nie Jiuluo and Mr. Sun were at a hotel.

Nie Jiuluo noticed Mr. Sun was injured and disoriented, repeatedly muttering about a "mountain fiend." Suddenly, the hotel experienced a power outage, plunging them into darkness. Taking advantage of the blackout, Xiong silently entered Mr. Sun's room and knocked him unconscious. Highly alert, Nie Jiuluo quickly hid. She then grabbed a pencil and engaged Xiong in a brief struggle in the dark before successfully escaping.
