An Jingling forcefully takes a part of a scroll from his grandmother, the Madam, stating his intention to practice it diligently. The Madam scolds him, calling him a beast. An Jingling, unconcerned, instructs his guards to confine her to Chongyue Pavilion. He later muses about stabilizing his meridians, indicating the scroll's importance to his cultivation and his efforts to overcome those who oppose him.
An Jingling learns of An Jingzhao and Miss Chuyue's whereabouts and personally sets off to retrieve Chuyue. At their hideout, Yueming Elder warns An Jingzhao that he cannot use his internal force and urges him to leave before An Jingling discovers the Elder's presence. An Jingzhao insists on staying behind to stall An Jingling, urging Yueming Elder and his companion, Li Qing, to go first.
Li Qing objects, emphasizing that An Jingzhao's safety is paramount as he is the only one left who can oppose An Jingling. An Jingling confronts Li Qing, stating he only seeks An Jingzhao and wishes no harm to innocents, but Li Qing defiantly challenges him. An Jingzhao returns and intervenes, leading An Jingling to mock their deep master-servant bond. An Jingling demands to know where Chuyue is hidden, threatening to kill them both.
When An Jingling discovers An Jingzhao has lost all his internal force, he unleashes a fierce attack. Li Qing sacrifices himself by taking a blow meant for An Jingzhao, collapsing severely injured. Miss Chuyue arrives, distressed to see Li Qing wounded. An Jingling orders her to return home with him, but she resists, calling him a devil. Hongfei then appears, declaring she will meddle as long as it concerns Chuyue.
An Jingling announces an alliance meeting in three days where An Jingzhao will be made to atone for his "crimes," and tells Chuyue not to miss it. Discussions reveal that Yueming Elder is still alive and An Jingzhao has inherited his power, soon to master the Art of Starshift, though he is still battling two conflicting streams of primordial energy. Hongfei plans to administer the Power Dissipating Elixir to An Jingzhao at the upcoming gathering to resolve this.
Meanwhile, An Jingling, now addressed as Lord, reviews the list of participating sects. He is informed that An Jingzhao survived his injuries through "evil sect" methods, resulting in an unstable internal force—a fact An Jingling intends to use as evidence of An Jingzhao's "collusion with demons." Chuyue expresses her concern about rescuing An Jingzhao, and Hongfei pledges her assistance.
Yueming Elder emphasizes the urgency of giving An Jingzhao the elixir to help him master the Art of Starshift and vows to hold An Jingling accountable for damaging his sect's reputation and stealing its manual. After learning Hongfei also sought the Art of Starshift, Yueming warns her of its mind-corrupting nature. Hongfei explains she sought it to empower her sect but is now open to its disappearance. Chuyue devises a "create a diversion" strategy.
As part of this, her associate Qing informs a disguised Chuyue that an important person will appear at the meeting, before bringing Yueming Elder into the assembly. At the Martial Arts Gathering, An Jingling presents the captured An Jingzhao, accusing him of using the demonic Art of Starshift and refusing to repent. He apologizes on his brother's behalf, and the crowd roars for An Jingzhao's death.
However, some attendees voice doubts, pointing out that no one witnessed An Jingzhao commit the alleged crimes. An Jingling dismisses these doubts, but Bai Zhi appears, denouncing him as despicable. Hongfei seizes the moment of distraction to rescue An Jingzhao, giving him the Power Dissipating Elixir. An Jingling quickly follows, condemning An Jingzhao for colluding with Hongfei and declaring he must act against his own kin for the sake of justice.
As An Jingling prepares to attack, Master Xuanfeng suddenly appears. He reveals he was attacked with the Art of Starshift but survived by feigning death. An Jingling tries to discredit him by citing An Jingzhao's "evil sect" internal energy, but Master Xuanfeng counters that actions, not energy, determine good or evil. An Jingzhao offers An Jingling a final chance to yield, but he refuses and openly uses the Art of Starshift, exposing himself as the true culprit.
As they fight, An Jingzhao reveals that the Profound Earth Sutra was never a mere "remnant." Yueming Elder also appears with the Yueming Sword. An Jingling, exasperated, accuses An Jingzhao of ruining his plans to marry Chuyue and restore the villa's glory. During their fierce battle, An Jingling callously injures Chuyue. Enraged, An Jingzhao unleashes his full power with the Yueming Sword, destroying An Jingling's Art of Starshift and crippling his martial arts.
Defeated, An Jingling expresses regret for disappointing his mother and asks An Jingzhao to kill him. Instead, An Jingzhao declares him pitiable and unforgivable, sentencing him to lifelong imprisonment within Yunwei Villa with his martial arts permanently crippled. Donghua intercepts a maid delivering flowers, playfully warning her that An Jingzhao and Chuyue are engaged in an intimate moment. An Jingzhao then sweetens Chuyue's bitter medicine with a kiss.
The Madam arrives and gifts Chuyue a magnificent Phoenix Crown, the symbol of Yunwei Villa's madam, for her to wear at the inauguration in three days. A small mishap with the crown prompts An Jingzhao to reveal that one of its key stones is a meteorite whose energy is nearly depleted, with only one use left. He worries that if Chuyue uses it to return to her world, she will not be able to come back.
Chuyue reassures him she has decided to stay. However, she receives a distressing call from her sister that their mother was hit by a car. Worried, Chuyue learns a thunderstorm needed to activate the meteorite is due the next night. When An Jingzhao returns, she gives him paintings she made, suggesting he look at them if he misses her.
Chuyue bids an emotional farewell to the Madam, confiding her fear of not being with An Jingzhao forever and asking the Madam to comfort him if she were gone. Later, Chuyue finds An Jingzhao, and they enjoy the moonlit night together. He suggests they make it an annual tradition.
Chuyue reflects on life's imperfections, but An Jingzhao passionately asserts that as long as they are together, life is complete, promising that if their life is a dream, she will never wake up. She asks him to say something sweet. He proclaims her a fairy, expresses his love, and promises to never leave her side.
