Following this advice, Li Chuyue approached An Jingzhao again while he was taking medicine, warning him not to be angry in his weakened state and then attempting to kiss him. An Jingzhao managed to dodge her advance, later bragging to Donghua that he resisted but privately admitting how difficult it was to withstand her charm. During a later attempt to appease him, An Jingzhao noticed a strange coldness in her body, which was not from a common cold.
Pressed for an explanation, Li Chuyue confessed she had absorbed a dangerous chill into her own system by using her body heat to warm a mystical orchid. An Jingzhao was deeply concerned, but she reassured him that he was powerful enough to find a cure for her. An Jingzhao resolutely accepted the risks. As An Jingling's forces closed in, Li Chuyue sent Donghua to guard An Jingzhao while she created a diversion. She confronted An Jingling, accusing him of murdering the Valley Lord and framing his brother.
To ensure An Jingzhao wouldn't reveal himself, she shouted for him not to come back. An Jingling, professing his long-held love for her, captured Li Chuyue and took her to his villa, ignoring her declaration that he was no longer her "little brother" but her enemy.
