As Chunhua fed him mooncakes, Qiuyue expressed his enjoyment of eating them with her but quickly feigned thirst and then teased her about how she offered him water. Annoyed, Chunhua turned away to warm herself by the fire.
Qiuyue, claiming his injuries made him entirely Chunhua’s responsibility, insisted she hold him. Though initially reluctant, Chunhua, feeling guilty, agreed, with Qiuyue stating he would only allow her to hold him. With Qiuyue nestled in her arms, he slowly drifted to sleep. Chunhua expressed sympathy, acknowledging that Shangguan Hui, imprisoned in Ice Valley after Xiao Yuan abandoned her, likely had no other choices to survive, having associated with many men, some of whom she killed or led to their deaths. Qiuyue shared that he only learned Shangguan Hui was his mother upon her death. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, she would make him swear to kill Xiao Yuan, but ironically, she died before Xiao Yuan, who was then killed by her old friend.
Qiuyue praised Chunhua’s understanding, noting her difference from Hua Xiaolei, who wanted to expose his crimes. He promised to treat Chunhua well. Later, Qiuyue held Chunhua as they both drifted to sleep. He observed her peaceful sleeping face with contentment and gently kissed her forehead. Later, Star Deputy Chief Ye confronted Star Deputy Chief Gu, who tried to persuade her to abandon Shangguan Qiuyue, promising her the title of Chief of Thousand Moon Cave if she helped eliminate him. Meanwhile, Qin Liufeng and Leng Ning arrived at Eight Immortals Mansion to investigate. Qin Liufeng suggested they feign illness, with Leng Ning leaning on him, but she immediately rejected the idea. They then decided to enter openly.
Before they could, they encountered Li Yu. As they pursued him, Li Yu quickly used Medical Sage's acupuncture needles to seal Leng Ning's acupoints, rendering her immobile, before fleeing. Qin Liufeng, reassuring Leng Ning, claimed he knew the "method of crossing acupoints with silver needles" from Mr. Bu, though he admitted Mr. Bu no longer considered him a disciple.
Despite his low confidence, Qin Liufeng successfully unblocked Leng Ning's acupoints, jokingly attributing it to her fear, which provoked her to strike him, though he playfully caught her hand.
