Chunhua frantically begged Shangguan Qiuyue to save Gu Wan, despite Shangguan Qiuyue's knowledge that Gu Wan intended to kill him. After Shangguan Qiuyue seemingly expended his vital qi to save Gu Wan, Gu Wan feigned concern for Shangguan Qiuyue's depleted internal strength, attempting to lull him into a false sense of security. Shangguan Qiuyue, aware of the deception, played along, claiming he needed several hours to regulate his vital qi and ordering Gu Wan to shut his acupoints.

Gu Wan's followers, believing Shangguan Qiuyue was genuinely weakened, were emboldened. Gu Wan, having seemingly injured Shangguan Qiuyue with a concealed weapon, boasted that Shangguan Qiuyue only had a fraction of his strength left. Ye Yan, loyal to Shangguan Qiuyue, reminded Gu Wan of his ingratitude, but Gu Wan dismissed it as Shangguan Qiuyue's own fault, gloating that Shangguan Qiuyue, usually so clever, had fallen for Chunhua's "stupid" advice to save him.

Chunhua, feeling guilty, produced Valley Chief Fu Lou's token, but Gu Wan's followers scoffed, saying Fu Lou was dead and his token meant nothing. Chunhua then tried to deter them by asserting that even with his damaged vital qi, Shangguan Qiuyue was more than capable of handling them. She urged those not involved in the rebellion to retreat, promising their lives might be spared.

Gu Wan, realizing Shangguan Qiuyue had feigned weakness to lure them out, became desperate and ordered his men to attack, warning them that Shangguan Qiuyue would never truly let them go. Shangguan Qiuyue swiftly dealt with the rebellious group while Gu Wan seized the opportunity to escape. Shangguan Qiuyue then instructed Ye Yan to guard the area while he left with Chunhua to recover his strength.

Upon returning to their room, Shangguan Qiuyue collapsed, and Chunhua discovered his back was covered in blood. Frightened, she called his name, but he playfully corrected her, telling her to call him "brother," which slightly eased her panic. As she tried to help him to the bed, Gu Wan suddenly appeared, intending to finish Shangguan Qiuyue off. Shangguan Qiuyue swiftly used a concealed weapon, creating a diversion that allowed him to escape with Chunhua into a dark dungeon.

Shangguan Qiuyue urged Chunhua to leave, promising to arrange for Ye Yan to escort her to safety, knowing Gu Wan wouldn't harm Ye Yan. Chunhua, though worried about Shangguan Qiuyue's condition, pretended to be afraid of the dark, refusing to leave. She questioned why Shangguan Qiuyue, knowing Gu Wan's treachery, still chose to save him and consume his vital qi. Shangguan Qiuyue replied simply that it was because Chunhua wanted him to.

He then playfully suggested that Chunhua "collect yin to replenish yang" to help him recover. Embarrassed, Chunhua became flustered, prompting Shangguan Qiuyue to clarify that he needed her to help him to the Ice Valley to collect the dark and cold qi of heaven and earth.

When she momentarily left, assuming he was merely teasing her, he called out to her, and when he fell silent, her concern for him compelled her to quickly return, only to find him teasing her again. Chunhua struggled to bring the injured Shangguan Qiuyue to the Ice Valley, a place so cold that Shangguan Qiuyue, despite his weakened state, admitted he disliked, having been confined there for over a decade.

As Shangguan Qiuyue lay unconscious, Chunhua desperately tried to stop his bleeding and wished for him to wake up. To her surprise, he awoke, telling her he had heard her wish and decided to grant it. Though the valley was intensely cold, Chunhua, concerned for his well-being, embraced him to provide warmth, despite her own discomfort.

Shangguan Qiuyue, touched by her actions, told her that if she couldn't endure the cold, there was a secret passage nearby that she could use to leave. Chunhua immediately pulled away and headed towards the passage. Shangguan Qiuyue, initially thinking she was abandoning him, started to gather his internal energy, conflicted. However, Chunhua paused at the passage entrance, turning to ask him what he wanted to eat.

Shangguan Qiuyue immediately understood her true intention was to find food for him, and a bittersweet smile crossed his face as he dismissed his previous misjudgment, telling her he would be happy with anything she prepared. Meanwhile, Qin Liufeng and Leng Ning began their investigation into the Medical Sage's death. In a jade shop, the shopkeeper mistook them for a couple, prompting Qin Liufeng to playfully purchase a pair of matching jade pendants.

Later, at a restaurant, Leng Ning deliberately ordered all the signature dishes. To her dismay, Qin Liufeng confessed he had spent all his money on the jade pendants. Leng Ning reluctantly offered to pay but found she didn't have enough to cover the exorbitant bill. Resourceful, Qin Liufeng discreetly dropped a fly into the soup, allowing them to escape without paying.

During their meal, Leng Ning recalled the silver needles found in the back of resurrected corpses at the immortality fruit auction, identifying them as the Medical Sage's unique concealed weapons capable of controlling the recently deceased. Shortly after leaving the restaurant, they were ambushed by someone attempting to silence them. Having anticipated this, Qin Liufeng subdued the attacker, but not before the assailant managed to use Blindness Powder on him.

Qin Liufeng managed to grab some silver needles from the attacker's cuffs. They later discovered the man was Li Yu, a disciple of the Medical Sage, who had been rescued from debt collectors by people from the Eight Immortals Mansion after his gambling addiction left him nearly beaten to death. Qin Liufeng and Leng Ning returned to meet Xiao Bai and Feng Caicai, relaying their findings.

Xiao Bai decided they needed to revisit the scene where the Medical Sage was killed. Arriving at the Medical Sage's home, Xiao Bai was lost in thought, remembering his first meeting with Chunhua in that very place, seemingly unaware when Qin Liufeng gently removed the Fengming Blade from his grasp.

Feng Caicai comforted him, expressing hope that solving the mystery of the Medical Sage's death, which intertwined with his father's fate and Chunhua, would resolve the misunderstandings between him and Chunhua. Xiao Bai, however, stated firmly that he intended to forget the past and instead cherish those present with him now, especially Feng Caicai.
