When feeling uneasy, Xiao Bai practices his swordsmanship late at night. His mind is disturbed, and he nearly injures himself. Fortunately, Feng Caicai quickly intervenes, drawing Lüxiu’s sword to protect him from harm. Xiao Bai expresses his gratitude to Feng Caicai and Lüxiu before returning to his room. Lüxiu observes that Xiao Bai has reverted to his former self, serious, prudent, and meticulous about etiquette, much like he was before Chunhua’s arrival, which causes her concern.

Alone in his room, Xiao Bai gazes at the suit Chunhua gave him, recalling the moment she presented it. Overwhelmed by emotion, he tears the garment to shreds. In Thousand Moon Cave, Chunhua forces a smile. Qiuyue, noting her somber mood, attempts to comfort her and expresses his desire for her to remain by his side.

Chunhua, however, reminds him of the tragic fates of Fu Lou and You Si, implying that their relationship would meet a similar end if she stayed, stating that she brings him no benefit. Qiuyue dismisses her concerns, assuring her their situation is different and will not end that way. Chunhua reflects that Qiuyue, like Xiao Bai, is either calculating or weighing his options, and she feels like a mere pawn.

Unbeknownst to her, Qiuyue truly believes Chunhua is sincere, recalling moments that convinced him of her genuine affection. To lift her spirits, Qiuyue orders servants to make mooncakes daily, knowing she loves them. Chunhua points out that mooncakes are meant for family reunions and are not meant to be eaten daily. Qiuyue confidently declares that with them together, every day is a reunion, making daily mooncake consumption perfectly acceptable.

When Chunhua expresses thirst for tea, he later offers her wine instead, further surprising her with his unconventional approach. Xiao Bai spends sleepless nights contemplating Shangguan Qiuyue's next move. He believes Qiuyue intends to unite Thousand Moon Cave and Legend Valley to consolidate the evil sect, viewing this as a major threat to the martial arts world.

He suspects the entire immortality fruit affair is a trap orchestrated by Thousand Moon Cave, leading him to feel overwhelmed and lost since his father's death, as he relied on him. He attempts to confess his feelings to Feng Caicai, admiring her dignified character, gentleness, and sensible nature, stating she would make a suitable alliance leader's wife. Qin Liufeng, sensing Xiao Bai’s intentions, quickly interrupts, mentioning the suspicious circumstances surrounding Chief Feng’s death.

He then discreetly sends Feng Caicai and Leng Ning away to speak privately with Xiao Bai. Qin Liufeng advises Xiao Bai to embrace his human weaknesses, reassuring him that expressing his feelings will help and that he has support. He warns Xiao Bai against using Feng Caicai as a means to heal his pain, emphasizing her sincerity, and stating it would be unfair to her.

Qin Liufeng suggests that the issues between Xiao Bai and Chunhua are mere misunderstandings stemming from Chunhua's pure and innocent nature, unfamiliar with the principles of the jianghu. He believes they could resolve things by openly discussing them when they meet again. However, Xiao Bai firmly states it is not a misunderstanding but a choice, believing Chunhua will never return.

Meanwhile, Feng Caicai discusses her growing unease about Xiao Bai's changed demeanor with Leng Ning, who attributes it to heartbreak and suggests he needs time alone to recover. Nevertheless, Feng Caicai expresses her disbelief in Fu Lou's account of her father's death and decides to revisit Eight Immortals City to investigate her father's case, which she finds highly suspicious. Leng Ning, offering her unwavering support, agrees to accompany her, reiterating their close bond.

They also decide to investigate the puppet's origins related to the immortality fruit auction, as his only living relative died violently. Elsewhere, Gu Wan, having long admired Ye Yan, openly expresses his desire for her, proposing they leave Thousand Moon Cave, settle down, and have children. Ye Yan firmly rejects his advances, reminding him of Thousand Moon Cave's strict rules against impropriety among colleagues.

When Gu Wan dramatically asks her to kill him if she refuses, Ye Yan states she has no authority to execute subordinates on the Lord's behalf. Gu Wan misinterprets her restraint as a sign of lingering affection, claiming she held back her full power against him, believing she still cared for him. Infuriated, Ye Yan curtly dismisses him, telling him to leave.

Qiuyue shares wine with Chunhua, deliberately adding "Three-day Intoxication" to her drink in an attempt to alleviate her sorrow. Despite this, Chunhua remains despondent, questioning why she always messes things up despite her earnest efforts, and feeling that her simple desire to be with someone has always been wrong. She voices her distrust in everyone, lamenting that one person gave up on her while another schemed against her.

Qiuyue reassures her, affirming her innocence and promising to stay by her side and treat her well. He warns her not to take advantage of him while drunk. Annoyed by his repeated accusations, Chunhua demands to know when she ever did such a thing, then defiantly kisses him to demonstrate what "taking advantage" truly means.

Unmoved by the kiss, Qiuyue expresses his dislike for her self-destructive behavior and tells her not to use him as an antidote for her pain, urging her to regain her sobriety. He then uses his internal power to help her clear her mind. A servant reports that Gu Wan was gravely injured while quelling the rebellion in Legend Valley, his fate uncertain. Qiuyue reacts with cold indifference, simply acknowledging the report.

Chunhua is shocked by his callousness, pointing out Gu Wan's loyalty and questioning his lack of concern. She fears that if she were injured, Qiuyue would abandon her as well. Qiuyue assures her with a smile that he would, of course, save her, stating she thinks too much. Qiuyue and Chunhua go to see Gu Wan. Chunhua pleads with Qiuyue to save him, despite Gu Wan’s critical condition and severe internal backlash.

Qiuyue initially dismisses it as hopeless, stating his presence won't help as Gu Wan has no hope of recovery. Chunhua persists, reminding him of Gu Wan's long-standing loyalty and the potential benefits of saving his right-hand man. She argues that saving him would only consume vital qi, which he could recover from with a few days of rest, and would encourage others to be more loyal.

Qiuyue, however, asserts that Gu Wan would attempt to kill him if saved, though Chunhua dismisses this as cynical, believing not everyone is as contemptible as he thinks. Finally, at Chunhua's persistent pleas, Qiuyue asks everyone else to leave, seemingly preparing to intervene. Xiao Bai approaches Feng Caicai to discuss Chief Feng's case, expressing regret for having overlooked the investigation into his father's death, which Fu Lou had publicly slandered with disgraceful remarks.

He admits that clarifying the truth and restoring Chief Feng's reputation should have been his top priority after his self-indictment. Feng Caicai reassures him not to doubt his decisions, praising his commitment to justice and his sacrifice for the greater good of the jianghu, and offering her full support in the investigation. Xiao Bai thanks her and inquires about Leng Ning and Qin Liufeng.

He learns they have already departed for Eight Immortals City to investigate Medical Sage's death and the truth behind the immortality fruit auction. Xiao Bai suggests that he and Feng Caicai set out together that very afternoon.
