He accused Mr. Shi of not keeping his promise and threatened to expose him to the martial arts world if he refused, ensuring Mr. Shi's ruin.
The "Mr. Shi" he confronted offered five million taels instead, but Chief Leng scornfully rejected the money, insisting solely on the immortality fruit. Believing he could seize it by force, he attacked, only to discover that the person before him was a mere decoy. She then playfully tied herself up, and repeatedly called out "When will Chunhua and Qiuyue have an ending?" to her Ice Silkworm Pearl, hoping to summon him. When Shangguan Qiuyue, who had been secretly watching her, finally appeared after sensing her growing frustration, Chunhua, pretending to be abandoned, claimed Xiao Bai was foolish and incapable of protecting her, expressing a strong desire to return to Thousand Moon Cave with Shangguan Qiuyue.
Shangguan Qiuyue feigned difficulty with the knot, but Chunhua, amused, revealed it was a simple bow. He untied her, and they departed for Thousand Moon Cave. Upon arriving at Thousand Moon Cave, Chunhua sneezed and shivered from the cold, complaining that she was frozen awake and longed for a hot spring. Shangguan Qiuyue offered to send her back to Fengming Manor where Xiao Bai was, suggesting she could bathe in its hot spring.
Chunhua swiftly declined, insisting she was happiest only with Shangguan Qiuyue. She then subtly steered the conversation to Feng Caicai’s infectious poison, asking Shangguan Qiuyue to cure her and expressing trust that he would protect her from infection, despite the numerous poisons in Thousand Moon Cave. Shangguan Qiuyue, aware of her pretense, directly questioned her claims of not being cold.
Sensing her true discomfort, he enveloped her in his internal energy, warming her despite her continued insistence that she was not cold, revealing that he reserved this power only for her.
