Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Episode 28 Recap
> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap
Wu Shuang asked Luo Jiutian to help her put on the Phoenix Coronet, requesting that he send her to get married to finally settle all their past grievances. Although deeply reluctant, Luo Jiutian complied with her wishes, placing the coronet on her head and covering her with the red veil before sadly departing her room. Next, Wu Shuang went to bid farewell to her master, Zhou Qiuhai, for raising her.
Zhou Qiuhai did not appear, instead sending his second disciple, Yutian, to deliver his message. Yutian conveyed Zhou Qiuhai's apology for not saving her in the underground palace, explaining it was for the sake of the Mound-digging Sect and asking her not to blame him. He added that the Mound-digging Region was a harsh place, and if she and Ding Yunqi were to have children, they should send them down, and the Mound-digging Sect would care for them.
Yutian then offered his congratulations to Wu Shuang before leaving, stating it was time for Zhou Qiuhai to take his second dose of medicine. As Wu Shuang was about to depart, a fellow disciple reminded her not to cry and ruin her makeup for her groom. Wu Shuang encouraged herself to be happy, knowing it was her wedding day. With other disciples accompanying her, she made her way to the Mound-digging Region.
As she neared her destination, she joyfully removed her red veil and cast it aside, eager to meet Ding Yunqi. Ding Yunqi was surprised to see Wu Shuang in her wedding attire, arriving at the Mound-digging Region. She explained that she had come to marry him. Ding Yunqi was deeply touched by her actions but was concerned about her future, feeling she would suffer if she stayed with him. Wu Shuang, however, was resolute.
She stopped him from voicing his objections with a kiss, asserting that without him, she would feel lonely no matter how many people were around. She declared that living happily with him, even through hardship, would still be sweet. She also reassured him that as the most favored junior disciple of the Mound-digging Sect, her seniors would not let them suffer.
Ding Yunqi, seeing her determination and believing they would eventually find a way to leave, finally agreed to their marriage. They performed a simple ceremony, with Ding Yunqi reciting a poem about becoming husband and wife and loving each other forever. They concluded their vows by kowtowing three times to the heavens, asking them to witness their union and symbolizing their shared destiny.
During their private ceremony, the voice of an old woman suddenly echoed, congratulating them and urging them to make haste and have a baby. Ding Yunqi invited her to show herself, but the old woman refused, telling him to focus on his beautiful wife, expressing her joy at seeing a young couple in such a desolate place.
Later, as Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang were sharing a toast in their newly prepared room, the old woman's voice returned, impatiently questioning their slowness and expressing her desire for a baby to play with. Wu Shuang, annoyed, retorted that they wouldn't produce a baby for someone who wouldn't show their face.
The old woman, amused by Wu Shuang's fiery disposition, commented on her being Zhou Qiuhai's disciple before declaring she was leaving and again urged them to have a child. Intrigued, Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang decided to find out who she was. They located her, and after a brief confrontation where the old woman was visibly affected by old injuries, Ding Yunqi, a Western doctor, offered to help.
However, the old woman angrily refused, suspecting them of being new tricks sent by the "old bastard" Zhou Qiuhai, who had tried many ways to trick her over the past twenty years. Wu Shuang tried to reason with her, explaining their own orphaned circumstances and offering to care for her as an elder. Still, the old woman fiercely rejected them, yelling for them to leave.
As they departed, Wu Shuang wondered if the "old bastard" was her master and why he would imprison someone for twenty years. Ding Yunqi observed that the old woman's fighting style resembled Cui Yanzhi's, leading him to suspect she was Lao Beifeng, Cui Yanzhi's long-lost leader. Wu Shuang found it hard to believe her master would imprison the leader of the Mountain-moving Sect for so long, suggesting Lao Beifeng must have committed a grave error.
Ding Yunqi then led Wu Shuang back to their room. Meanwhile, Luo Yunsong and Sun Sanxuan's men, who had been monitoring the Mound-digging Sect, observed disciples purchasing increasingly expensive medicines for Zhou Qiuhai, leading them to believe he was gravely ill and dying. Sun Sanxuan felt this could be an opportune moment to act quickly, though he was concerned about accidentally harming Zhou Qiuhai and creating a deeper feud between the Gold Touching and Mound-digging Sects.
Chu Fengling, however, was indifferent, viewing any harm to Zhou Qiuhai as revenge for Auntie Hei, which earned her another reprimand from Luo Yunsong, who reiterated that their sole mission was to save Ding Yunqi. Luo Yunsong devised a plan for Sun Sanxuan to lead the Gold Touching disciples in a loud, fake attack at the main gate of the Mound-digging headquarters.
He would then lead the Black Feather Team to climb over a side wall, aiming directly for Zhou Qiuhai while avoiding unnecessary harm to others. Luo Yunsong, however, felt uneasy about the unusual tranquility, suspecting a trap. In reality, Zhou Qiuhai's illness was a deception, and he was well-prepared for their attack. He had been secretly collecting various factions' Soul Pursuit Orders.
He confided in Yutian, his only trusted disciple, revealing his plans to use Ding Yunqi to obtain the Soul Pursuit Order from Lao Beifeng, whom he had imprisoned for twenty years because she refused to yield. Zhou Qiuhai then gave Yutian a letter, instructing him to activate their sleeper agents hidden in the town to counter Luo Yunsong's forces. He promised Yutian that the Mound-digging Sect would be his.
Following Luo Yunsong's plan, Sun Sanxuan led his Gold Touching disciples in a boisterous assault on the Mound-digging headquarters, creating a diversion. During this commotion, Yutian, whom Zhou Qiuhai had prepared, seized the opportunity. He sneaked into Luo Yunsong's residence, surprising Chu Fengling and attempting to take the Soul Pursuit Order from her. Chu Fengling, realizing Yutian was Tian Long, fought back.
Just then, Luo Jiutian, who had been secretly supervising them, appeared, pointing a gun at Yutian and demanding he release his sister. Yutian, shocked to see Luo Jiutian alive, dismissed his threats. One of Luo Yunsong's men launched a signal flare. Yutian, still believing Luo Yunsong was preoccupied with Sun Sanxuan's attack, was confident he could escape. However, Luo Yunsong and his Black Feather Team swiftly arrived.
Cornered, Yutian bit his tongue in an act of suicide, uttering a final threat that Tian Long would not forgive them before he died. Despite Yutian's death, Luo Yunsong quickly devised a new strategy. He ordered his men to spread false news that Yutian had been captured, believing that Tian Long would surely come to rescue him. Turning to Luo Jiutian, Luo Yunsong angrily questioned why he was still alive and what his true identity was.
Luo Jiutian, initially playful, eventually revealed that he was a public officer, tasked with supervising and protecting their department. He clarified that he was not a privately hired soldier of "Her Ladyship," though one could interpret it that way. When pressed further about his motivations, Luo Jiutian admitted he acted for Wu Shuang's sake, but more precisely, so that he could continue to live, even "like a dog."
