Legend of Yun Xi Episode 31 Recap
> Legend of Yun Xi Recap
Princess Consort Qin, Han Yunxi, and Prince Qin, Long Feiye, arrived at the palace, seeking an audience with Emperor Tianhui. Han Yunxi pleaded with the Emperor to spare her father, Han Cong'an, but the Emperor dismissed her plea, citing Han Cong'an's undeniable corruption. He did, however, reassure Han Yunxi that she would not be implicated. Han Yunxi then offered to cure Crown Prince Long Tianmo in exchange for her father's pardon.
Skeptical of her abilities, Emperor Tianhui reminded her that her own father had worsened the Crown Prince's condition. When Han Yunxi vowed to bear all consequences for failure, Long Feiye interceded, offering to be punished in her stead by accepting a post as an envoy in the remote territory of Ningnan. Presenting a pre-written military vow, Long Feiye finalized the deal. The Emperor agreed: if Han Yunxi succeeded, the Han family would be absolved.
If she failed, Han Cong'an would be executed, and Long Feiye would be exiled to Ningnan. Han Yunxi explained that the cure required the blood of a Poison Beast, and they would leave for the Sinkhole immediately. In her quarters, Chu Qingge learned of the military vow from her servant, Momo. Chu Qingge revealed her complex strategy: Beili was using her younger brother, Tianyin, as leverage, and her own state of Xiqiu was internally unstable due to her uncle's ambitions.
By allowing Tianning's court to fall into chaos, she hoped to incite conflict between Tianning and Beili, distracting them from Xiqiu. This would buy time for Tianyin to mature and for her to eventually use Tianning's power against Beili. Believing Han Yunxi would succeed, she anticipated the ensuing turmoil and instructed Momo to alert Gu Qishao. Upon learning of Long Feiye's quest, the Second Prince, Long Tianqing, devised a plan.
He deduced that Emperor Tianhui would send assassins to kill Long Feiye after he secured the Poison Beast's blood. Long Tianqing instructed his men to follow from a distance, intending to let the two factions weaken each other before swooping in to steal the Poison Beast, thereby ensuring Crown Prince Long Tianmo's death and acquiring a priceless treasure for himself. Back at the Qin Mansion, Han Yunxi expressed her guilt to Long Feiye for entangling him in her family's troubles.
Long Feiye reassured her, revealing a strategic advantage to the situation: his main forces were stationed in the southern region, and an assignment to Ningnan would free him from the Emperor's surveillance, benefiting his long-term military plans. Meanwhile, Emperor Tianhui, furious over his guards' previous failures, ordered them to ambush and assassinate Long Feiye at the Sinkhole, retrieve the Poison Beast, and return to save the Crown Prince.
Long Tianmo, overhearing the order, was devastated, confronting his father for prioritizing the elimination of Prince Qin over his own son's life. Before her departure, Gu Qishao visited Han Yunxi, providing her with various antidotes and remedies. He offered to accompany her, but she refused, not wanting to put him in danger.
At the same time, Long Feiye outlined his own plan: he and Han Yunxi would take a secret shortcut, while Tang Li and Ning Jing would act as decoys, impersonating them on the main road to mislead their enemies. Tang Li and Ning Jing then comically bickered as they prepared for their roles. Disguised as the royal couple, Tang Li and Ning Jing rode along the main path. Long Tianqing's forces lay in ambush and attacked.
When a group of the Emperor's guards, led by Lei and Feng, stumbled upon the scene, Long Tianqing ordered his men to eliminate them as witnesses. The guard Yu was killed in the clash, but Lei and Feng managed to escape with the decoys. Long Tianqing pursued them to the Tianquan Inn.
There, he cornered the three surviving imperial guards and coerced them into an alliance, ordering them to lure out Long Feiye's elite guards from the inn so his own forces could attack. Meanwhile, Long Feiye and Han Yunxi reached the shortcut to the Sinkhole, where they found Gu Qishao waiting for them. Despite Han Yunxi's earlier refusal, he insisted on joining them for her protection.
The trio, along with Bai Xiaochuan’s men, entered the treacherous Sinkhole, where several men immediately fell into traps. From a hidden location, Gu Beiyue watched them and activated a mechanism, plunging the group into quicksand. At the Tianquan Inn, Long Tianqing had his archers in position, boasting to his aide about his plan to use the Emperor's men as bait to eliminate both them and Long Feiye's guards.
Inside, Ning Jing and Tang Li continued their impersonation, bickering over how to convincingly portray an intimate couple. Deep within the Sinkhole, Gu Beiyue approached a seemingly unconscious Long Feiye and removed the Poison Scripture from his robes. However, Long Feiye was only feigning and launched a surprise attack. Gu Beiyue retreated and triggered another mechanism, trapping Long Feiye. Elsewhere in the confusion, Gu Qishao realized Han Yunxi was missing and began searching for her.
In another location, the Poison Master discussed Baili Mingxiang's condition; her unique "Beauty Blood" had combined with Sha Poison to create a new mind-altering toxin. Having put her into a deep sleep to study it, he learned that Han Yunxi had been successfully lured near the Poison Beast and ordered his plans to proceed. Alone and lost, Han Yunxi was suddenly confronted by the colossal Poison Beast, which began to hunt her down.
