Through numerous hardships, Song Zhuowen gains the trust of Guan Xue and high-ranking Japanese officials, ultimately clearing obstacles for the final victory of the war.

Synopsis

In the spring and summer of 1945, Communist intelligence operative Song Zhuowen successfully infiltrated the Harbin Special Service Division of the puppet Manchukuo regime. Utilizing his exceptional deductive skills and meticulous approach, Song gained the admiration of his superiors while also drawing jealousy and covert hostility from his colleagues.

In order to uncover the location where Communist Party members were secretly imprisoned, Song leveraged his knowledge of the operational procedures to follow leads and rescue underground party members. The Special Service Division's operations suffered repeated setbacks, leading its chief, Guan Xue, to suspect the presence of a mole and initiate an investigation.

Song Zhuowen managed to evade suspicion by navigating the complex interpersonal dynamics within the Special Service Division. Continuing his battle in perilous circumstances, he defused crises on multiple occasions and completed numerous difficult tasks, including obtaining the enemy's patrol route maps.

However, after exposing a secret weapon being developed by the Japanese military, he was compromised and wounded during a retreat. He was successfully rescued by his organization, which provided cover for his departure from Harbin.
