Song Linglan felt that she had invested so much without receiving anything in return, and that was where she felt most aggrieved. She even thought that she had no strength left to love anymore. Sun Toutou went to Tian Jingjing's house, and this news also hit her hard. Sun Toutou told Tian Jingjing that she had a father, and that Ren Tianzhen's father was her own father as well. Tian Jingjing was taken aback by this revelation. After all, Sun Toutou was still in a romantic relationship with Ren Tianzhen, and once they became half-siblings, their relationship would be impossible. That night, when they returned home, Song's mother informed her husband about this situation. Ren Xinzheng tried to impart some philosophical wisdom to his son and asked him to take care of Song Linglan, but Ren Tianzhen argued that his mother needed him the most now. Afterward, he slammed the door and left the shattered home. Ren Tianzhen walked alone on the road, looking at the bustling street filled with cars and feeling dejected. Today, he had experienced too much, and the blow was immense. Tian Jingjing had been with Sun Toutou all this time, and Ren Tianzhen called Sun Toutou, but she didn't know how to respond and chose not to answer the call. Suddenly, it started snowing, adding to the already cold winter, and it only made their situation feel more burdensome. Tian Jingjing asked Sun Toutou whether she wanted a father or a husband. Sun Toutou used to believe that she could change her destiny by studying hard, but now she realized that everything was predetermined and couldn't be changed. Tian Jingjing also understood why Ren Xinzheng had been so tolerant of all of Sun Toutou's flaws; after all, they shared a blood relationship. Sun Toutou thought about how Wu Shandao was still alone in the hospital, so she quickly returned there. She also messaged Ren Xinzheng to inquire about Wu Shandao's condition, and Ren Xinzheng simply replied that everything was the same as before. During breakfast, the whole family was in an awkward state. Ren Tianzhen decided not to eat and left, saying that he wouldn't come home for a while and would stay at school. His grandmother tried to persuade him, but Ren Tianzhen had made up his mind. After waking up, Wu Shandao didn't remember anyone around him and even needed someone to coax him to eat. He mistook Sun Toutou for his wife, and at that moment, Zhao Liquan arrived. However, Wu Shandao didn't recognize him at all, and Zhao Liquan suddenly felt relieved. When Sun Toutou and Zhao Liquan left, Wu Shandao told Ren Xinzheng that he was fine and that his stay at the hospital wasn't accidental. He revealed that Zhao Liquan pushed him down but didn't know whether it was an accident or intentional. Zhao Liquan had tried to bribe him with money and even gave him a card, but he didn't accept it. That night, Zhao Liquan came to see Wu Shandao, holding a towel in his hand, but Wu Shandao already knew everything. In the end, Zhao Liquan didn't act violently. Wu Shandao could confirm that the money was still in Zhao Liquan's possession. Wu Shandao didn't want Zhao Liquan to be ruined like this, and Ren Xinzheng felt that there should be another way for him. Wu Shandao also knew about Ren Xinzheng claiming that Sun Toutou was his daughter. Ren Tianzhen went to the hospital and brought Sun Toutou's change of clothes for Wu Shandao but couldn't face her. Tian Jingjing watched the two lovers separated because of these circumstances and felt deeply reluctant. Sun Toutou ate the dumplings made by Ren Tianzhen, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably. Ren Xinzheng found Zhao Liquan, hoping to indirectly guide him toward change.
