Qi Father and Jin Yuxiang (Qi Mother) were divorcing, scheduling to finalize it the following afternoon at 2 PM. The divorce was initiated by Qi Father after an argument, with Jin Yuxiang angrily agreeing. Qi Mingyue attempted to mediate, criticizing her father for years of neglecting the family, rarely cooking, and causing her mother to feel neglected and develop an aggressive personality. She believed her father was partly responsible for her mother's strong character, leaving him speechless.

Qi Mingyue offered to stay with Jin Yuxiang for two months before her own departure for Beijing, but Jin Yuxiang declined, preferring to adapt to living alone. Qi Mingyue, identifying as a journalist, defended her earlier statements to her mother as merely stating facts. Meanwhile, Chen Ting rented an apartment in Ling Xiao's residential complex. Qin Meiyang returned home and, finding Chen Ting mopping, helped her.

Qin Meiyang, having become more open after reconciling with Li Jianjian and her friends, revealed she was working at He Ziqiu's coffee/dessert shop. Chen Ting was surprised and angry, forbidding Qin Meiyang from returning. Chen Ting, with a dark and paranoid mindset, suspected He Ziqiu's intentions, believing he didn't like Qin Meiyang and was up to no good, especially after he missed Ling Xiao's birthday.

Qin Meiyang defended He Ziqiu and scolded her mother for always thinking the worst of people, accusing her of having "persecutory delusions" and reminding her that everyone has their own lives. Chen Ting felt betrayed, believing Qin Meiyang was becoming disobedient and had been "brainwashed" by He Ziqiu and his friends, just like Ling Xiao. Qin Meiyang, realizing Chen Ting wouldn't listen, stopped trying to explain.

After Tang Can secured a job with a theater troupe, Zhuang Bei consistently walked her home. During one of these walks, Tang Can shared her decision to resign from her museum job, planning to discuss it thoroughly with her mother and continue to advocate for her choice if her mother disagreed. As they arrived downstairs, they encountered Qi Mingyue and Jin Yuxiang. Zhuang Bei felt awkward seeing Qi Mingyue and, after a greeting, prepared to leave.

However, Qi Mingyue asked Tang Can and Jin Yuxiang to go upstairs first, as she wanted to speak with Zhuang Bei. Qi Mingyue apologized for her previous reaction to his confession, explaining that after much thought, she realized she didn't dislike him but rather herself, fearing he would be disappointed once he truly knew her.

She confessed that she never understood what growing up felt like until her parents' impending divorce made her realize she needed to mature and support her family. Zhuang Bei comforted her, suggesting the divorce might not be a bad thing and reminding her that everyone makes mistakes, including himself. They reconnected on WeChat, agreeing to remain good friends.

Following the divorce, Qi Father packed his belongings, and Jin Yuxiang slept in Qi Mingyue's room, where Qi Mingyue heard her mother crying and comforted her, feeling her pain. That night, Jin Yuxiang was restless and felt disliked. Early the next morning, Qin Meiyang arrived at Li Jianjian's house to deliver a gift, where Qi Mingyue opened the door and offered to visit Qin Meiyang's house later that evening.

As they exchanged greetings, Li Jianjian suddenly emerged from Ling Xiao's house. Both Qi Mingyue and Qin Meiyang were astonished, asking if Li Jianjian had slept at Ling Xiao's. Li Jianjian quickly explained that she had indeed slept at Ling Xiao's house, but only stayed to chat and did not engage in any intimate activities with him. Qi Mingyue and Qin Meiyang looked at her in disbelief, unconvinced that nothing more had happened.

Xiaozhu inquired about the relationship between He Mei and Li Haichao, mentioning He Mei's recent rebuttal of Hongying at the noodle shop and Li Haichao's invitation for He Mei to a bookstore the next day. Li Jianjian was excited about their burgeoning relationship, expressing happiness at the prospect of them marrying and uniting their family under one household register.

However, He Ziqiu worried that He Mei might abandon Li Haichao again, as she had in the past when she deceived him, leading Li Haichao to raise He Ziqiu. Li Jianjian dismissed He Mei's past actions, but Ling Xiao also expressed concern that Li Haichao might be deceived again. Li Jianjian then suggested she and He Ziqiu secretly observe Li Haichao and He Mei's date.

The next day, Li Haichao meticulously prepared himself before going out, feeling nervous upon seeing He Mei at the bookstore. He picked up a classic book, prompting He Mei to tease him, suggesting his newfound interest in classics was due to having dated a teacher. Li Haichao quickly clarified that he and Hongying were merely friends, not on a blind date, and that he was reading classics because He Mei used to enjoy them.

He Mei chuckled, remarking on her past poor judgment in men and her current appreciation for a serious man. After Li Haichao and He Mei walked away, Li Jianjian and He Ziqiu emerged from behind a bookshelf. Li Jianjian found their affectionate interaction "beautiful" and wanted to continue following them, but He Ziqiu, feeling awkward, tried to pull her away. During their brief struggle, Li Haichao and He Mei returned and discovered them.

The four then went to a hot pot restaurant for lunch. Li Jianjian and He Ziqiu were visibly uncomfortable and restless throughout the meal. To alleviate the awkward atmosphere, Li Jianjian claimed she didn't think they were on a date, but He Mei frankly admitted that they were. Li Jianjian was overjoyed by this confirmation, believing Li Haichao's romantic future was settled, and immediately called Ling Xiao after lunch to share the news.

Meanwhile, He Ziqiu picked up Li Jianjian from her studio to go home for dinner, bringing coffee for the three of them, but Zhou Miao showed no appreciation. After Li Jianjian and He Ziqiu left, Du Juan questioned Zhou Miao about his behavior. Zhou Miao continued to criticize Li Jianjian, claiming she was not taking the plagiarism issue seriously and seemed unconcerned. He pointed out the prolonged inability to find evidence, insinuating Li Jianjian might be guilty.

Zhou Miao further argued that Yufei, a renowned artist, had no reason to plagiarize Li Jianjian. He reminded Du Juan that Li Jianjian had signed a contract with a furniture manufacturer, and failure to provide evidence of non-plagiarism would result in a substantial breach of contract penalty. Observing Du Juan's worry, Zhou Miao asserted that the plagiarism was Li Jianjian's personal problem, and Du Juan, being a victim herself, shouldn't have to share the penalty.

He repeatedly urged Du Juan to dissolve their partnership to avoid the financial repercussions and even proposed they form a new partnership after his graduation. Du Juan was deeply troubled and conflicted by Zhou Miao's words. After a night of careful consideration, Du Juan called Li Jianjian to the studio for an important discussion the following morning. Zhou Miao, eagerly anticipating Du Juan's decision to terminate the partnership with Li Jianjian, listened with expectation. However, after a moment of silence, Du Juan formally announced her decision to fire Zhou Miao instead.
