Zheng Shuran didn’t want to always talk about Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu during his dates with Li Jianjian. He wanted to do things couples should do when dating. He leaned in as if to kiss Li Jianjian, but she instinctively dodged him. After Tang Can returned home, Qi Mingyue casually asked if she won any money playing mahjong that day. Tang Can said she lost 300 yuan.
Qi Mingyue became alert, worried that Tang Can was repeating her past mistakes and spending money on men. Tang Can’s ex-boyfriend still owed her 25,000 yuan and had even blocked her. The more Qi Mingyue talked, the angrier she became. Tang Can knew she was in the wrong and quickly changed the subject by asking why Qi Mingyue was putting snacks into a gift box. Qi Mingyue said it was a gift for Ling Xiao.

He Ziqiu’s second aunt, He Lan, came to the city to visit him. Seeing the coffee shop he opened, she felt a mix of emotions. After chatting at the shop, they went to the Li family home for dinner.
Li Haichao asked He Ziqiu to go downstairs and get Li Jianjian while he welcomed He Lan and started chatting. He Lan, afraid that Li Haichao might blame He Ziqiu for reconnecting with Zhao Huaguang, kept speaking well of He Ziqiu. But Li Haichao said he didn’t mind and was glad He Ziqiu had the chance to study abroad. As they talked, He Lan suddenly cried. Concerned, Li Haichao asked if something was wrong.
She, feeling ashamed, said her husband was sick and needed chemotherapy next week. She had come to borrow money from He Ziqiu but couldn’t bring herself to ask. Li Haichao wanted to help, but He Ziqiu and Li Jianjian had just returned and overheard everything. He Ziqiu interrupted, saying he had money and could lend it to her, and told Li Haichao not to worry.
After Ling Xiao returned to Singapore, Li Jianjian was constantly worried about whether he had made it home safely. When he got home, Chen Ting noticed he hadn’t brought his luggage and immediately panicked, questioning him about quitting his job in Singapore. She guessed it was because of Li Jianjian. As they argued, Li Jianjian happened to call. Chen Ting didn’t let Ling Xiao answer the phone. During the struggle, his phone fell and broke.
Qin Meiyang, seeing them fight, took her bag and left the house. Unable to reach Ling Xiao, Li Jianjian became even more worried. That evening, Ling Heping and Li Haichao were chatting at the noodle shop. Ling Heping asked whether Li Haichao still missed He Mei after all these years. Li Haichao denied it. As they chatted, Li Haichao expressed concern that He Ziqiu might still be thinking about He Mei.
He asked Ling Heping if he could help find out where He Mei was now, especially since she had repaid the money she owed, and he didn’t know how to explain things to He Ziqiu. At Li Jianjian’s house, Qi Mingyue told Li Jianjian and Tang Can that she had confessed her feelings to Ling Xiao. Tang Can eagerly asked for details, but Li Jianjian showed little reaction.
Qi Mingyue thought she was upset, but Li Jianjian explained she couldn’t reach Ling Xiao and was just worried. Realizing Li Jianjian wasn’t angry about her confession, Qi Mingyue was relieved. After He Ziqiu’s coffee shop event ended, foot traffic decreased. That day, Zheng Shuran came to the shop again. He Ziqiu got irritated at the sight of him but couldn’t do anything about it. Zhuang Bei, watching the scene, asked He Ziqiu what kind of boyfriend Li Jianjian should find. He Ziqiu instinctively replied that Li Jianjian didn’t need a boyfriend.
