Tang Can met with a Mr. Li, who was arrogant and criticized her. Zhuang Bei, who was sitting nearby, intervened, defending Tang Can and accusing Mr. Li of insulting her. Mr. Li was left speechless. Zhuang Bei then gave his lawyer business card. Tang Can returned a pen to Zhuang Bei, who, saying he had many, let her keep it. Zhuang Bei, knowing Tang Can's job, asked her if she could help him with a favor.
Meanwhile, Li Jianjian met her online friend, Zheng Shuran (also referred to as Ran). Qi Mingyue discovered their meeting by checking Zheng Shuran's Weibo, where she also found a strange post. Concerned about Li Jianjian's safety and the risks of meeting online friends, Qi Mingyue tried to call Li Jianjian, but her phone was unreachable. She quickly informed Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu, who became very anxious. They went to the police station to seek out Ling Heping.
Ling Heping, remaining calm, called Li Haichao, who revealed Li Jianjian was at the noodle shop, eating with Zheng Shuran. He Ziqiu and Ling Xiao then rushed to the noodle shop. At the noodle shop, Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu were openly hostile towards Zheng Shuran. Li Haichao, conversely, treated Zheng Shuran as an honored guest and enthusiastically introduced He Ziqiu and Ling Xiao.
Li Jianjian quickly introduced them to Zheng Shuran, explaining that her previous award-winning work was based on Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu as prototypes. Zheng Shuran, excited and thrilled to meet the inspirations in person, began discussing art creation with Li Jianjian. Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu, confused and listening intently, interrupted to ask Zheng Shuran if he had only developed the intention to date Li Jianjian after meeting her.
Zheng Shuran admitted that he had not only developed the intention to date her after meeting her, but also clarified that it was not their first encounter, and their initial meeting had been unpleasant. After Zheng Shuran departed, Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu returned to Li Haichao's home for dinner. There, they discussed Zheng Shuran's character.
Ling Xiao criticized Zheng Shuran, believing he was attracted to Li Jianjian's looks and was a "啃老族" (moocher/dependent on parents) who had graduated years ago but still relied on his parents for living expenses, deeming him lazy and unworthy of dating Li Jianjian. Ling Xiao then pressured Li Jianjian to call Zheng Shuran and break up, with He Ziqiu supporting him.
Li Jianjian became furious, telling them not to meddle in her life and that they had already significantly impacted it. Emotionally, she blurted out everything she had been holding back, stating they were not her biological brothers and didn't need to be so good to her. Ling Xiao, saddened, asked if she had intended to say these things all along, then left Li's house directly.
Li Haichao then criticized Li Jianjian, urging her to remember their shared history of growing up together. On his way home, Ling Xiao recalled a childhood incident. While walking home from school with Li Jianjian, she demanded candy, and when he refused, she squatted by the roadside, refusing to move. Ling Xiao, in a huff, walked a few steps ahead but turned back to find Li Jianjian missing. After searching, he discovered she was being carried away by human traffickers.
Ling Xiao bravely rushed forward, desperately holding onto Li Jianjian, refusing to let go and buying time for rescue, which attracted passersby. These passersby then called the police, leading to Li Jianjian's rescue. Following this, Li Haichao was profoundly grateful to Ling Heping and Ling Xiao, taking Li Jianjian to thank Ling Xiao, and asked Li Jianjian to recognize Ling Heping as her godfather. After dinner, He Ziqiu apologized to Li Jianjian.
Li Jianjian, however, insisted that He Ziqiu didn't owe her anything and didn't need to apologize or compensate her, as it would cause her significant psychological burden and make her uncomfortable. He Ziqiu insisted he did owe her. Li Jianjian continued, stating that past events were over, everyone had grown up, and she couldn't cling to her "brothers" like she did as a child.
He Ziqiu, feeling sad and disliked by Li Jianjian's distant remarks, asked if she didn't want him anymore. Annoyed, Li Jianjian told He Ziqiu to find his own family. Ling Heping and Li Haichao discussed the day's events at home. Ling Heping asked Li Haichao what he planned to do, but Li Haichao decided not to intervene, stating it was their internal conflict for them to resolve.
The next morning, He Ziqiu still went to Li Jianjian's house and made breakfast. Feeling extremely awkward upon seeing Li Jianjian, he left after preparing it. Li Jianjian waited for He Ziqiu to leave, then came out to eat breakfast with Tang Can and Qi Mingyue. The three discussed Zheng Shuran.
Qi Mingyue, full of curiosity, asked Li Jianjian about her feelings for Zheng Shuran, specifically if her heart raced when meeting him or if she was nervous bringing him to meet her family. Li Jianjian couldn't answer, stating she had no feelings for him despite dating him.
Qi Mingyue, observing Li Jianjian's cluelessness, concluded that Li Jianjian definitely didn't like Zheng Shuran, believing she couldn't distinguish between liking a friend and liking a lover, and that she wouldn't have brought him to meet family on the first date otherwise. Li Jianjian was also confused, explaining her motivation was purely for better artistic creation. As the three girls chatted, the doorbell rang. Qi Mingyue opened it to find Jin Yuxiang (Qi Mingyue's mother), who brought them food and immediately began cleaning the house.
