Ever Night Season 2 Episode 32 Recap
> Ever Night Season 2 Recap
Ning Que showed Mo Shanshan the map of the God-Startling Formation, which his First Brother, Slow Li, had personally drawn and marked in red to indicate areas requiring repair. Mo Shanshan immediately felt the formation's immense power. She explained that its repair would demand an extraordinary amount of original Qi from nature, an amount difficult to gather since the Sage's departure. Acknowledging her superior understanding of formations, Ning Que implored her help.
Mo Shanshan promised to exert her utmost effort, though she couldn't guarantee success. Overwhelmed by days of anxiety and fatigue, Ning Que collapsed and quickly fell asleep. Mo Shanshan then led Ning Que through the capital, investigating the formation's weaknesses. They finally located the primary blockage at the south end of Vermilion Bird Street, which served as the vital gate of the God-Startling Formation. Mo Shanshan proposed using the Great Formation of Blocking with stones to seal this city gate.
Ning Que inquired about her confidence, to which she admitted uncertainty but cited his own past words that "the last way is the best way," deciding it was a risky but worthwhile attempt. However, her Great Formation of Blocking proved insufficient to clear the formation's obstruction. Mo Shanshan expressed her concern about the Temple Master, Chen Mou, noting that his seemingly ordinary name made him even more formidable.
She grimly stated that, in the human world, only the God-Startling Formation possessed the power to defeat him, and they had to fix it quickly. Ning Que, observing the capital, remarked on how strange and unfamiliar it felt to him, like staring at a character too long until it lost its meaning. He recalled the Sage's teaching that life is a journey of cultivation, and that letting go is an essential part of it.
Troubled, he yearned for inspiration from the Sage and Yan Se, resolving to protect the city until Sangsang returned. Meanwhile, at Qingxia, Jun Mo and his fellow Academy disciples continued to hold their ground. Fan Yue used the Heshan Plate to fend off enemy attacks, already exhausted but fighting to buy time for Ning Que and Mo Shanshan. Ye Qing suddenly arrived and challenged Jun Mo to a duel.
Jun Mo was unsurprised by his appearance, remarking that he had already killed hundreds and didn't mind adding one more. Ye Qing revealed he had long wished to fight Jun Mo but was prevented by the First Brother. He knew Liu Bai was waiting for Jun Mo to be fully enraged, but Ye Qing could no longer wait and desired an immediate confrontation.
Jun Mo warned Ye Qing that he had chosen a "bad time" for himself, as Jun Mo's sword had been greatly sharpened from the recent battles. Despite being exhausted from sleepless nights, Jun Mo refused to rest, confidently declaring that Ye Qing was not Liu Bai, nor yet as skilled as him, though he might one day become so. Ye Qing, viewing this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, insisted on fighting.
Chen Mou then arrived in the capital, with Slow Li in pursuit. Eager to breach the city, Chen Mou swiftly struck down Slow Li. Mo Shanshan attempted to counter Chen Mou with the Great Formation of Blocking, but her efforts were easily shattered by his immense power, leaving her unable to prevent his advance further into the city. Ye Qing and Jun Mo's fierce battle at Qingxia continued, with both manipulating their swords through mind power.
After Ye Qing's second powerful strike, Jun Mo was forced to retreat a step. Ye Qing shared his past belief that he had seen through life and death during his travels, a belief shattered after his earlier battle with Slow Li at Yanming Lake, which taught him that "seeing through" actually meant deep involvement, and that there was no death, only rebirth after destruction.
He articulated his current philosophy: death is eternity, life is a fortunate gift, and one should embrace the great joys and sorrows that come with it, rejecting artificial serenity. Jun Mo acknowledged Ye Qing's proximity to Tao but noted he hadn't fully achieved it. Ye Qing then unleashed a third, all-consuming sword strike, aiming to penetrate Jun Mo's armor. However, his power was depleted, and the attack failed, leaving Jun Mo unharmed. Jun Mo advised Ye Qing to take care.
Ye Qing respectfully saluted him and departed, expressing gratitude for Jun Mo's words. Soon after Ye Qing left, Jun Mo's armor suddenly cracked and shattered. The Fourth Brother quickly helped him remove it, revealing an injury beneath. The Fourth Brother immediately set about forging to repair the armor.
Back in the capital, Ning Que desperately searched for a way to fix the God-Startling Formation, recalling Yan Se's words about a single character that could protect the city if he could write it. As Chen Mou marched towards the Imperial Palace, Yu Lian appeared, halting his advance. She trapped him using the Cicada's Cry technique, which prevented him from employing his Skill of God-Inspiring.
Chen Mou was astonished to discover that Yu Lian had broken through the Five Stages, becoming the Demonic Cult's first practitioner in a century to reach the Heaven Demon Stage. Yu Lian initiated the attack using her Demonic Cult skills against Chen Mou, their brutal clash causing widespread destruction to surrounding buildings. Chen Mou retaliated by using Demonic Cult skills against Mo Shanshan, knocking her down. Just then, Slow Li arrived as reinforcement.
Despite their combined efforts, both Slow Li and Yu Lian were overpowered by Chen Mou and knocked to the ground. Chen Mou proclaimed that true power lay only in invincibility, and with Madman Ke dead and the Sage gone, he now considered himself the invincible one in the world. He then challenged Yu Lian and Slow Li, asking which of them wished to die first.
