That day, Orchid was idly watering flowers in the greenhouse when Jie Li unexpectedly arrived. Upon learning that Dongfang Qingcang had saved Orchid, Jie Li gave a playful smile. Along the way, she had heard many rumors about Orchid and Dongfang Qingcang’s romantic entanglements—she hadn’t expected them to be true. Orchid hurried to explain, but Jie Li didn’t seem to care about the rumors; she had come with a request.

Since Orchid caused trouble in Market City last time, the entire city was hunting Jie Li. With no other choice, she came to Cangyan Sea to seek Orchid’s help. As they spoke, Dongfang Qingcang suddenly appeared. He originally came just to check on Orchid, but the words changed as they left his mouth—he instead urged her to repair the Destiny Books. Orchid felt disappointed and disheartened, mocking herself for being delusional.

She had thought Dongfang Qingcang asked her to fix the Destiny Books to spend time with her, but now it seemed she had been overthinking it. Orchid refused to repair the Destiny Books, bluntly saying she wasn’t capable. Unexpectedly, she angered Dongfang Qingcang and even got Jie Li involved. Along the way, Jie Li kept pleading with Shang Que, but he remained stern and unmoved.

Jie Li had no choice but to tell Shang Que that threatening Orchid with her life wouldn’t work because they weren’t close. Shang Que found her reasoning sound and asked what should be done instead. After thinking for a while, Jie Li came up with an idea: if they captured someone from the Immortal Tribe, Orchid would surely react. Though Shang Que agreed the plan was reasonable, he also knew it would make Orchid sad.

If Orchid was sad, then Dongfang Qingcang would be sad too, and that was something he didn’t want to see. Jie Li found it amusing—how could Dongfang Qingcang care about Orchid that much? The two began arguing about whether Dongfang Qingcang and Orchid were truly in love. In the end, Jie Li, desperate to survive, went along with Shang Que’s words, claiming she had a way to bring Dongfang Qingcang and Orchid closer. Unknowingly, the two arrived at the dungeon.

Shang Que found Jie Li’s argument convincing but still had her locked up. Fortunately, Orchid arrived in time and saved Jie Li. After surviving, Jie Li quickly asked about Orchid’s relationship with Dongfang Qingcang. From their conversation, Jie Li understood the nature of their feelings. Jie Li offered Orchid a suggestion: since Dongfang Qingcang liked her, she could win his favor and become the mistress of the Moon Tribe. Then she could do whatever she wanted.

Orchid found the advice very sensible and asked Jie Li how to win Dongfang Qingcang’s heart. That day, Orchid suddenly called for Dongfang Qingcang. Though he claimed he didn’t want to go, his body obediently walked into Orchid’s courtyard. But upon meeting her, he immediately asked about the Destiny Books. Orchid fiddled with her hair accessories, her eyes lively and charming. However, Dongfang Qingcang appeared impatient and urged her for an answer.

Orchid’s smile disappeared at once, and she said in grievance that she hadn’t finished it yet. Seeing Dongfang Qingcang a bit annoyed, Orchid shyly reached out and tugged at his robe, swaying side to side. But Dongfang Qingcang didn’t fall for it and instead brought up Changheng. Orchid grew awkward and hurried to praise Dongfang Qingcang as peerless and invincible. But he still didn’t seem pleased. Orchid invited him for tea and chatted about the past.

Dongfang Qingcang was touched, but his identity as the Moon Supreme forced him to suppress his emotions, and he quickly made an excuse to leave. Orchid suddenly stopped him and said she knew how good he was to her. Dongfang Qingcang told Orchid that because he cultivated the Karma Fire, he had severed all emotions and love, making it impossible for him to fall for her.

Memories suddenly flashed back to when young Dongfang Qingcang cried out in pain, helpless as the Karma Fire surged inside and out of him. His father stood at a distance, showing no pity and even intensified the fire. Orchid finally understood why she had dreamed of that bare tree at the Haotian Tower. Perhaps out of sympathy for Dongfang Qingcang’s past, Orchid promised to repair his Tree of Emotions. After receiving the medicine from Jie Li, Orchid was overjoyed.

But thinking of how Lord Yunzhong had judged her as part of the Moon Tribe, her heart sank. At the same time, in Silent Moon Palace where important matters were being discussed, Dongfang Qingcang’s mood changed with hers. Only after wearing the Ghost Jade Ring did he barely regain composure. To prevent further incidents, Dongfang Qingcang threatened Orchid with Jie Li’s fate, telling her to behave. Frightened, Orchid nodded repeatedly in agreement. Rong Hao helped heal Lord Changheng. Though he didn’t want him to take risks by returning to the Cangyan Sea, he understood the pain of loss, so he didn’t stop him.
