Xu Feng openly declared his profound affection for Jin Mi, stating she was truly the one his heart was set on, and offered to face any punishment for being in the Floral Realm. Chief Peony sternly rejected him, asserting that the Floral Realm's affairs were not for outsiders to meddle with and warned him not to harbor any intentions toward their fairies, especially Jin Mi. She flatly told him not to expect to see Jin Mi again.
Xu Feng tried to suggest there might be a misunderstanding between the Heaven and Floral Realms, promising to visit again to clarify his sincerity. Jin Mi, hearing Xu Feng mention owing her 1000 years of magic power, eagerly reminded him of his promise. Chief Peony, however, remained firm, assuring Xu Feng he would not be allowed to see Jin Mi again, and then spirited Jin Mi away into the Water Mirror.
Chief Peony took Jin Mi to the Floral Immortal’s Mausoleum and commanded her to truthfully answer questions before the late Floral Immortal. Jin Mi revealed that besides Xu Feng, Moon Immortal, Liao Ting, Fei Xu, Sui He, and Liu Ying had all seen her true form.
Chief Peony became deeply worried about Jin Mi's true identity being exposed, but was relieved when Jin Mi denied having romantic feelings for Xu Feng, claiming their interactions were merely reciprocal gestures for promised magic power.
Satisfied that the Yun Elixir was still intact and effective, Chief Peony made Jin Mi swear before the late Floral Immortal that she would sever all ties with the Heaven Realm, threatening severe consequences for breaking the oath, including losing her magic power and being reincarnated as a mortal, and even a carrot.
After Chief Peony left, Jin Mi secretly rationalized that her oath only applied to "people" of the Heaven Realm, thus exempting immortals like Xu Feng, Run Yu, and Moon Immortal. Later, Chief Peony confessed her anxieties to Mr. Hu, regretting that Jin Mi had gotten entangled with the Heaven Realm.
Mr. Hu comforted her, reminding her that with the Yun Elixir, Jin Mi was incapable of romantic love and would therefore be spared the pain that the late Floral Immortal suffered. Xu Feng returned to the Floral Realm, where Jin Mi's friends were discussing his potential visit. When he appeared, Jin Mi was excited, believing he was there to fulfill his promise of 1000 years of magic power. However, Chief Peony and the other Chiefs received him coldly.
Xu Feng reiterated his love for Jin Mi and requested to see her, but the Chiefs accused him of being infatuated with her appearance. Xu Feng countered that his affection stemmed from her pure and innocent nature, not her looks. The Chiefs remained unmoved, hinting that the reason for their refusal was deeply intertwined with the Heaven Realm.
This sparked a memory in Xu Feng of his father, the Heavenly Emperor, often gazing at a painting of a woman who resembled the late Floral Immortal, leading him to a painful misunderstanding about his father's past with the Floral Immortal. Heartbroken, he turned to leave. Jin Mi, still unaware of his true feelings, called out to him, eager to claim her promised magic power.
Xu Feng, though unable to see her due to an illusion spell cast by the Chiefs, sensed her presence. He expressed his anguish, comparing their situation to the Phoenix flowers that bloom for destiny's beginning and end, acknowledging their fated separation. He told her to take care of herself when he is gone, as it seemed their connection was meant to end.
Jin Mi, confused by his cryptic words and still focused on the magic power, continued to call his name as the Chiefs led Xu Feng away. Uncomprehending of Xu Feng's sorrowful words, Jin Mi suddenly experienced an unfamiliar sharp pain in her chest, caused by the Yun Elixir reacting to their emotional separation, and she fainted. In her dreams, she found herself in a desolate, icy landscape where she encountered a woman named Frost Blossom.
Frost Blossom confided that she was in love and pleaded with Jin Mi to help her escape. Jin Mi, believing it to be an interesting dream, attempted to use magic to free her, but failed. When she woke, Chief Peony was by her side, concerned, and Jin Mi attributed her chest pain to eating something bad. Chief Peony, still cross with Jin Mi, reiterated her punishment of confinement within the Water Mirror, forbidding her to leave.
Jin Mi pondered the strange pain and the meaning of her dream. Back in the Heaven Realm, Xu Feng and Run Yu presented the captured Qiong Qi to the Heavenly Emperor. Run Yu requested Qiong Qi be sentenced to death, a suggestion Xu Feng agreed with, but the Heavenly Emperor declared Qiong Qi's fate was beyond their decree and that he would handle it himself.
The Heavenly Emperor also expressed his admiration for the Floral Realm's generosity in providing the sacred Night Rattan for Xu Feng's recovery. Xu Feng explained that a fairy named Jin Mi had been instrumental in both his recovery and the recapture of Qiong Qi, but she was currently confined in the Water Mirror for breaking Floral Realm rules. The Heavenly Emperor acknowledged her contributions, promising to invite her to the Heaven Realm for commendation once Chief Peony’s anger subsided.
Xu Feng, eager to share the credit, highlighted Run Yu’s significant efforts in his recovery, mentioning how Run Yu had selflessly transferred his own magic power. Pleased with their display of brotherhood, the Heavenly Emperor rewarded both princes with 10,000-year-old fire ginseng and 1,000-year-old snow lotus for their recuperation.
No sooner had Xu Feng returned to his Qiwu Palace than Sui He arrived, clearly displeased to find him in the company of Liu Ying, who addressed him informally as "Brother Feng." Sui He exchanged cold pleasantries with Liu Ying, subtly disparaging her demon origins. Xu Feng clarified that Liu Ying was his invited guest. The Moon Immortal also appeared, warmly greeting Xu Feng and gently chiding Run Yu for his infrequent visits.
Mistaking Liu Ying for Jin Mi initially, Moon Immortal was amused to learn she was the daughter of the King of Bian City, whom he had personally arranged a marriage for. Praising Liu Ying's candid and lively personality, he expressed his delight in her. Moon Immortal then inquired about Jin Mi, disappointed to hear she had returned to the Floral Realm, and urged Xu Feng to bring her back, even offering to tie a red string to ensure their marriage.
Run Yu reminded Moon Immortal of his own existing engagement, to which Moon Immortal promised to help locate his betrothed, the Water Immortal's daughter, or find him new matches. Impressed by Moon Immortal’s matchmaking skills, Liu Ying asked for a red string for herself, which Moon Immortal gladly provided, instructing her on its use to secure her chosen lover.
Upon learning of Xu Feng's injury, the Heavenly Empress rushed to his side and immediately suspected Run Yu, questioning why only Xu Feng was harmed when both princes battled Qiong Qi. Xu Feng downplayed his injury as a minor setback due to his own carelessness and defended Run Yu, explaining that both his brother and Liu Ying had protected him and cured him in time, and that the Heavenly Emperor himself was not blaming anyone.
The Heavenly Empress was still suspicious. Xu Feng then inquired if the Heavenly Emperor had other children besides him and Run Yu, specifically asking about a painting of the late Floral Immortal he had seen in the Xingjing Court. The Heavenly Empress became enraged at the mention of the Floral Immortal, whom she referred to as the "demoness Zi Fen."
She recounted the humiliating past, revealing that the Heavenly Emperor had nearly deposed her as Empress for Zi Fen, only for her to save herself. Xu Feng, distressed by these revelations and connecting it to his earlier conversation with the Chiefs in the Floral Realm, interpreted his mother's words to mean Jin Mi might be the Heavenly Emperor's child with the Floral Immortal, believing their destiny was over.
The Heavenly Empress, misinterpreting his distress as a realization of his "rightful" position, pledged to eliminate all obstacles for him to secure his status. Xu Feng, however, asked her to cease her vengeful thoughts against Run Yu and the Heavenly Emperor, stating he had no ambition to usurp his father and only wished for his parents to live long and for him to remain filial.
Annoyed by his apparent lack of ambition, the Heavenly Empress ordered him to rest and not wander off. As Run Yu was heading to Xingjing Court for some books, he encountered the Heavenly Emperor, who was troubled by the Qiong Qi incident. The Heavenly Emperor sought Run Yu’s perspective.
Run Yu deduced that Qiong Qi could not have escaped the cauldron by himself, suggesting that a powerful figure within the Demon Realm deliberately caused the chaos to disrupt the balance of the six realms, thus becoming a common enemy. The Heavenly Emperor, who harbored ambitions of unifying the six realms, then asked for Run Yu’s opinion on such a unification.
Run Yu cautioned that unifying the realms would inevitably lead to war and asserted that no single realm, not even the Heaven Realm, currently possessed the absolute strength to achieve it. The Heavenly Emperor pondered Run Yu’s insights and, deciding to bide his time for greater success, chose to spare Qiong Qi's life, warning the beast not to disappoint him again. Meanwhile, Sui He continued to express her suspicions to the Heavenly Empress regarding the circumstances of Xu Feng's injury, implying foul play.
