Jin Mi decided to give herself one last chance regarding Xu Feng. She vowed that if the phoenix flowers bloomed, she would go to him again; if they did not, she would never see him for the rest of her life. Upon opening her eyes, Jin Mi saw the phoenix tree covered in vibrant blooms. Even though she couldn't perceive colors, tears welled up, and a faint smile graced her lips, filled with a renewed sense of hope.

Meanwhile, Mu Ci, aware that his life was fading, expressed relief that Xu Feng was alive and now the Demon Lord. He urged Liu Ying to consider her future and find someone like Xu Feng to care for her after he was gone. Liu Ying was distraught by his words, vehemently insisting that she only loved him.

She made Mu Ci promise never to leave her without warning, affirming that no matter how much time they had left, they would remain together. Liu Ying then proposed they marry immediately. Mu Ci was overjoyed by her proposal but then suddenly collapsed. The King of Bian City explained that due to the recent removal of the Corpse-dissolving Celestial Silkworms, Mu Ci's magic power was rapidly dwindling, leaving him as frail as a mortal and susceptible to a high fever.

He assured Liu Ying that medication would help him recover. Liu Ying held Mu Ci's hand, promising to stay by his side. When Mu Ci regained consciousness, he asked if Liu Ying still truly wished to marry a dying mortal. Liu Ying passionately reaffirmed her desire, reminding him that the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, their chosen wedding date, marked the day of their first kiss.

Mu Ci revealed he was secretly crafting a special gift for her, to be presented on their wedding day. In the Demon Realm, Xu Feng, typically indifferent to tributes, specifically selected a Moke Doucai Cloak presented by the Leader of Western City. His servants speculated it was a birthday gift for Sui He and wondered if he would marry her.

Xu Feng confirmed to Sui He that he remembered her upcoming birthday and had arranged a grand banquet in her honor at Yujiang Palace. Jin Mi, observing from afar, witnessed Xu Feng's attentive and affectionate demeanor towards Sui He. When Xu Feng noticed Jin Mi's presence, he deliberately intensified his closeness with Sui He, causing Jin Mi to leave the hall, heartbroken.

Kuang Lu reported to Run Yu about Jin Mi's frequent visits to the Demon Realm, fearing for her safety. Run Yu dismissed her concerns, stating that Jin Mi had recovered her magic power and ordinary demons posed no threat. He subtly implied a hope that Jin Mi would encounter difficulties there, believing it would ultimately lead her to abandon her lingering feelings for Xu Feng. Later that night, Run Yu found a fleeting comfort in Jin Mi's return.

He grappled with her continued torment, silently wondering if her heart would ever truly belong to him, or if it would only happen with Xu Feng's death. Xu Feng bestowed the Palace of King Gu upon Sui He, but she discovered the two mentally unsound sons of King of Yan City still residing within.

When the two men attempted to molest her, Sui He furiously moved to kill them, but Xu Feng intervened, protecting them and ordering them to be taken away. This act deeply angered Sui He, who felt less important to Xu Feng than these mad individuals, despite her immense efforts in saving his life. Xu Feng acknowledged her kindness, claiming he never forgot it.

However, Sui He expressed her frustration with his inconsistent, "hot and cold" behavior, which left her constantly on edge and unable to understand his true emotions. When she confronted him about still harboring feelings for Jin Mi, Xu Feng became enraged, warning her never to mention Jin Mi's name again. Privately, Sui He vowed to make Xu Feng love her completely. Later, Xu Feng stood alone by the Wangchuan River, lost in thought.

Sui He approached and asked if he truly hated Jin Mi. Xu Feng replied that he couldn't help but hate the one who killed him. Sui He argued that hatred implied lingering feelings and expressed her wish for him to forget Jin Mi entirely so she could truly enter his heart. Xu Feng then firmly told Sui He never to mention Jin Mi again so as not to spoil their mood.

Delighted, Sui He expressed her hope for things to always remain so peaceful between them. Xu Feng then invited her back to Yujiang Palace for her birthday banquet, promising they would visit the beautiful Wangchuan River often. Unbeknownst to them, Jin Mi, having transformed into a jade rabbit, watched them from a distance. Still disguised as a jade rabbit, Jin Mi continued to observe Xu Feng.

Aware of her presence, Xu Feng deliberately flaunted his affection towards Sui He, even putting a cloak on her, to provoke Jin Mi. A demon servant, noticing the rabbit's unwavering gaze, captured and presented it to Xu Feng. Sui He, captivated by its snow-white fur, desired to keep it as a spirit pet, but Xu Feng discouraged her, hinting that some creatures might turn against their masters. As Xu Feng examined the rabbit, Jin Mi, fearing discovery, bit him.

Xu Feng observed that a rabbit's bite could be surprisingly unexpected. Enraged, Sui He immediately wanted to kill the rabbit for revenge. However, Xu Feng declared that merely killing it would be too lenient, suggesting a more gruesome fate: plucking its fur, skinning it, severing its tendons, scraping its bones, and roasting it, even ordering a roasting rack. But as Jin Mi trembled in terror, Xu Feng secretly used his magic power to release her.

Escaping, Jin Mi realized how much Xu Feng had changed, becoming terrifying. She later returned to Yujiang Palace after Xu Feng had fallen asleep. There, she tearfully confessed how deeply she missed him. A flicker of sweetness ignited in her heart as Xu Feng stirred and kissed her in his sleep, but her joy shattered when she heard him murmur Sui He’s name. Overwhelmed by humiliation and hurt, Jin Mi fled the palace.

Distraught, Jin Mi sought out Lord Puchi to confide in, only to find him gravely wounded and unconscious. She immediately brought him to the Floral Realm. Chief Peony examined his injuries and confirmed he had been struck by the Glazed Pure Fire. As only Xu Feng and the deceased Tu Yao were known to possess this power, suspicion naturally fell on Xu Feng.

However, Jin Mi vehemently insisted that Xu Feng was not the attacker, recalling that the Beast of Dreams had visited her room, not Qiwu Palace, when her father was killed. She concluded that a third individual capable of wielding the Glazed Pure Fire existed – the true murderer of her late father, the Water Immortal, and the one who had manipulated her into mistakenly killing Xu Feng.

Jin Mi vowed to uncover the truth and seek vengeance once Lord Puchi regained consciousness. Although Lord Puchi's primordial spirit was saved, he remained in a coma. Jin Mi desperately sought a cure, and Mr. Hu recalled the ancient evil beast Jiu Ying. He described Jiu Ying as a unique monster of both water and fire, whose Internal Dan could miraculously heal internal injuries from either element.

However, he warned that Jiu Ying, though its body was destroyed over a thousand years ago, remained in spirit, imprisoned in the highly dangerous underground palace of the Demon Realm. Mr. Hu tried to dissuade Jin Mi, highlighting the peril, as all who sought the Internal Dan never returned. But Jin Mi, resolute in her friendship and remembering Lord Puchi had once saved her, declared her determination to go. Despite Mr. Hu’s concerns and his offer to accompany her, Jin Mi refused, citing his limited magic power, and set off alone for the Demon Realm's underground palace.
