Upon seeing her father, Duke Nanping, ordering his soldiers not to harm her, Sui He uses herself as leverage. When Duke Nanping warns her of the dangers and urges her to come to him, she demands he first withdraw his troops from around King Yi. He reluctantly complies. As Sui He walks towards him, she abruptly stabs him.

Duke Nanping dies calling her name, while Sui He coldly remarks that despite being a good father, he was merely a mortal compared to Xu Feng. With Duke Nanping dead, his army falls into chaos, and King Yi's forces quickly gain the upper hand. A voice from King Yi's side offers leniency to Duke Nanping's soldiers if they join King Yi, threatening their nine clans with execution otherwise.

Sui He feigns innocence, claiming she was unaware of her father's plot to assassinate the King. Xu Feng's officer suggests he rest after successfully repelling the Liangguo army, but Xu Feng is eager to leave. Sui He approaches him, stating that with her father gone, he is her sole reliance. Xu Feng acknowledges her contributions to Huaiwu and promises to assist her with any future difficulties.

However, he tells her his heart is already taken and that he can only view her as a cherished sister. Sui He asks if Jin Mi is the woman he loves, and Xu Feng confirms it. Frustrated, Sui He argues that Jin Mi is a Saint Girl and their union is impossible. She reminds him of her lifelong devotion and the sacrifices she has made, including her father's death, questioning his cruelty.

Xu Feng expresses gratitude for her actions but admits they also frighten him. He vows to protect her if she faces danger but reiterates that marriage is impossible. Sui He bitterly questions what makes Jin Mi so special that he pursues her "in heaven and on earth." Sensing her emotional instability, Xu Feng suggests they discuss it another day.

He then instructs his officer to escort Sui He back to Beiyuan Villa with an elite team, while he quickly prepares to return to Jin Mi. Alone, Sui He vows that Jin Mi will not get what she desires. Xu Feng arrives at Beiyuan Villa, rushing to Jin Mi's side. Jin Mi initially wonders if she is dreaming, but he reassures her. Alarmed by her frail appearance, he questions her condition, dismissing Qiang Huo's diagnosis of simple inflammation.

He suspects she may have poisoned herself while experimenting with herbs and presses her for the truth. Jin Mi, defending Qiang Huo, insists she merely has inflammation, claiming it's a lifelong condition where she easily faints. She fabricates a story about developing a cure and eating longans to test it, which caused her to faint before the medicine could take effect. Xu Feng, still suspicious, asks for the medicine.

Jin Mi tells him it requires three pills, and he makes her consume them, then gently tells her to rest and never to scare him like that again. Jin Mi then compliments his martial attire, remarking on how handsome he looks in it. Sui He, still at the villa, summons Qi Yuan and instructs him to deliver a letter to the Monarch of Liangguo.

In the letter, she promises to "cooperate with him" to destroy Huaiwu, anticipating this will compel the King of Liangguo to lead his army personally. She stresses the need for flawless execution. Qi Yuan confirms that Xu Feng would then also lead his army, providing an opportunity for him to eliminate Jin Mi once Xu Feng leaves Beiyuan Villa. Liu Ying, having sensed Qi Yuan's aura and followed him, overhears this conversation. She realizes Jin Mi is their target.

Qi Yuan then reminds Sui He of the Heavenly Empress's priority: retrieving the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow to prevent it from being used against Xu Feng. Sui He adapts her plan, telling Qi Yuan to first deliver the letter, then go to Xu Feng's side. If anyone attempts to use the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow against Xu Feng, Qi Yuan is to seize it and use it to kill Jin Mi. Qi Yuan agrees.

Liu Ying, now understanding Qi Yuan's true intentions, confronts him, asking why he disappeared only to resurface with a plan to harm Jin Mi, her friend. She vows to protect Jin Mi and offers to help if he has hidden troubles. She warns him that if he persists, he will become her enemy. Qi Yuan grimly responds, "That's better."

Later, Qi Yuan finds the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow in Xu Feng's study, having sensed his own "bones and blood" there, and is relieved the arrow did not harm Xu Feng. As Xu Feng prepares to depart for battle, Jin Mi, appearing strong, asks if he is returning to the front lines.

She tells him that the King of Liangguo is now leading the army, forcing Xu Feng's personal involvement, and subtly hints that she might not be able to "wait" for him. Xu Feng, misunderstanding, expresses his joy that she is finally willing to commit to a future with him, asking if she truly wants to be his queen forever. Jin Mi tearfully says, "I do."

She reminds him of his public vow not to marry until the four seas are unified, but Xu Feng dismisses it as a past excuse to appease his ministers, saying he now wishes to immediately declare her as his queen. Jin Mi promises to wait and playfully warns him against ever looking at other women.

When she offers to remove her veil, Xu Feng refuses, saying he will wait until their wedding night when he lifts her "red veil," declaring she will then be his "ugly wife" and unable to escape. Jin Mi silently apologizes for not being able to tell him the truth. They share a final, desperate kiss, and Xu Feng then departs.

Alone, Jin Mi reflects on her past intimacy with Xu Feng and her impending death, accepting her fate with no regrets. While Xu Feng is engaged in battle, Jin Mi lies ill in bed, coughing up blood. Qi Yuan arrives at her chamber, intending to kill her, but sees Liu Ying guarding her. Acknowledging the difficulty of Jin Mi's mortal trial, Qi Yuan decides to act swiftly and creates a diversion to draw Liu Ying away.

In the ensuing confrontation, Liu Ying warns Qi Yuan against harming Jin Mi. Qi Yuan asserts that if he doesn't kill her, his true self, "Mu Ci," will never return, to which Liu Ying retorts that killing Jin Mi will prevent his return. Qi Yuan then fires the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow. In a selfless act, Qiang Huo leaps in front of Jin Mi, taking the arrow and sacrificing her life.

As Qiang Huo dies, she expresses her happiness for Jin Mi's companionship and hopes they can be friends in the next life. Jin Mi, heartbroken, finally recognizes Qiang Huo as her long-lost friend, Rou Rou. Qiang Huo confirms she has remembered everything and thanks Jin Mi for giving her a second life, declaring she has no regrets. She asks Jin Mi not to grieve for her.

Overwhelmed with sorrow, Jin Mi cries out Rou Rou's name, despairing why her friend saved her twice only to be lost again. Jin Mi then collapses beside Qiang Huo, bleeding profusely. Liu Ying aggressively pursues Qi Yuan, vowing to uncover the truth behind his actions. Qi Yuan tries to deter her, claiming further investigation would only put her in greater danger. Hurt, Liu Ying asks if he still cares for her safety.

She questions if he is acting under the Heavenly Empress's orders and tells him to either let her go or kill her. When she asks how he could have changed so much, lamenting if their past means nothing, Qi Yuan cruelly tells her that their memories became meaningless the moment he learned of his deep-seated enmity with the Demon Clan. Liu Ying desperately pleads with him to abandon their feud and start a new life together.

Qi Yuan dismisses their relationship entirely, claiming he never truly loved her and, as a mere bodyguard, couldn't refuse a princess who "threw herself at him." Devastated, Liu Ying slaps him. Qi Yuan remains impassive, telling her he had no choice but she can choose to forget him. Liu Ying tearfully admits she cannot. Later, Xu Feng returns to the villa, distraught to find Jin Mi's lifeless body.

He cradles her in his arms, overcome with grief and rage, and demands to know who committed such an act. Qin Tong, his officer, reports that an unknown immortal or demon killed Saint Girl Jin Mi and then vanished without a trace before he could fight back. Xu Feng furiously orders Qin Tong to thoroughly investigate and avenge Jin Mi's death, then dismisses him.
