An Earth Immortal, his face flushed, was showing Yan You and Jin Mi his special "immortal brewed wine," praising its exquisite quality. Before he could finish his accolades, he collapsed in a drunken stupor. Yan You then enthusiastically introduced Jin Mi to the "four greatest pleasures of the mortal world": eating, drinking, playing, and enjoying. Intrigued by the concepts of "playing" and "enjoying," Jin Mi agreed to accompany Yan You to experience them.
Their first stop was a small fabric shop that concealed a hidden underground gambling den. With her acute senses, Jin Mi quickly mastered mahjong, winning so much that the exasperated owner expelled them after only a few hours. Finding mahjong rather dull, Jin Mi asked Yan You to take her to experience the final pleasure: "enjoying." Yan You then led Jin Mi to a brothel.
Jin Mi was immediately put off by the strong "scent of cosmetics," which Yan You explained was used by the girls there to attract guests. When Yan You requested the most popular girls, the attendants called out "Peony, Peachblossom!" Hearing these names, Yan You panicked and hastily dragged Jin Mi out, explaining that Chief Peony (Mudan) would surely punish him if she discovered him in such a place.
He also realized his mistake in bringing Jin Mi, a girl, to such an establishment. Next, Yan You brought Jin Mi to a theater, introducing her to a play called "Dong Xian," which depicted the story of Emperor Ai and his favorite official. As they watched, Jin Mi observed the flirtatious actions between a male performer and a patron, particularly the line, "Ying Ge, let me take good care of you."
Suddenly, Xu Feng appeared in the theater, enraged to find Jin Mi among patrons. He struck one of the men, causing everyone to scatter in fear. Xu Feng sternly rebuked Yan You, reminding him that Jin Mi no longer owed him any magical prowess and warning him never to interfere with Qiwu Palace again. At that moment, Run Yu also arrived, chastising Yan You for his thieving ways and declaring Jin Mi his honored guest.
Yan You, caught between the two princes, sarcastically questioned their sudden gathering. Run Yu then urged Xu Feng to leave with Jin Mi, stating that he and Yan You needed to have a "good talk." Xu Feng, without a word, took Jin Mi away. As Xu Feng and Jin Mi left the theater, Run Yu and Yan You caught up to them. Jin Mi, concerned about being taken back to the Floral Realm, quickly spoke up.
Xu Feng accused Run Yu of deliberately hiding Jin Mi's scent in the mortal realm, expressing his surprise at Run Yu's sudden "warm-hearted" concern for Jin Mi, which was unlike his usual detached demeanor. Run Yu admitted to helping Jin Mi as she was his friend and "locked up," but claimed ignorance about her presence in the theater. He also apologized for the commotion caused by Chief Peony's misunderstanding with Xu Feng.
Jin Mi, sensing the growing tension, quickly proposed they taste her homemade osmanthus wine, to which Xu Feng questioned who had taught her about the "four pleasures" concept. The two princes first hung Yan You upside down outside the residence. The Earth Immortal, who was also hanging nearby with Yan You, profusely apologized for his earlier misguidance, admitting he was mistaken about the "four pleasures" and shouldn't have led Jin Mi to the gambling den and brothel.
Run Yu, appreciating Jin Mi's osmanthus wine, made a deal to learn her secret recipe when the night-blooming cereus bloomed. Xu Feng and Run Yu then reminisced about their infrequent opportunities to drink together. Jin Mi, wanting to rescue Yan You, decided to get both princes drunk. She secretly consulted with Yan You, who assured her that the wine, made from a stolen recipe, was potent enough to fell even immortals.
Taking the opportunity to refill their cups, she replaced the remaining wine with the potent osmanthus brew. After several more bottles, both princes eventually passed out. Jin Mi managed to drag Xu Feng into a room, intent on acquiring his thousand years of magical prowess while he was intoxicated. When she initially tried to take it directly, he resisted even in his stupor.
Xu Feng then briefly regained consciousness and, remembering his promise, gave Jin Mi a Water Spirit Pearl to help mitigate the fire-element in his power before transferring the thousand years of spiritual energy. He then collapsed back into her arms. Jin Mi, misinterpreting his actions and his unconscious state, recalled the romantic scenes she had witnessed at the theater and playfully "teased" the unconscious Xu Feng, imitating the actor's lines.
In his drunken state, Xu Feng removed Jin Mi's magical hair clasp, pulled her close, and began to remove her clothing. Just as he leaned in to kiss her, his consciousness suddenly cleared, and he quickly left the room, lamenting that their actions were a "mistake" that went against their "virtues" and would lead to them "perishing like smoke." Jin Mi, still half-asleep and intoxicated, dismissed his concerns before falling completely unconscious. Xu Feng emerged from the room, sighing deeply.
Yan You, still hanging upside down, taunted him about wasting a beautiful night. Xu Feng, annoyed, questioned Yan You's persistent presence around Jin Mi. Yan You, seeing an opportunity for release, offered to reveal why Jin Mi was so obsessed with magical prowess. Once untied, Yan You recounted a tragic past: his friend Rou Rou had been gravely injured by Qiong Qi's plague needles while protecting Jin Mi.
Although Yan You intervened to drive Qiong Qi away, Rou Rou's heart vessels were shattered, and Yan You's limited power couldn't save her. Witnessing her friend's primordial spirit perish, Jin Mi vowed to accumulate enough magical prowess to revive Rou Rou. Yan You confessed that he had lied to Jin Mi, giving her false hope that Rou Rou could be reborn as an immortal if Jin Mi cultivated enough power, simply to give her a reason to live.
He then explained that Jin Mi's seemingly heartless nature sometimes hid a deeply compassionate heart, and she likely hadn't told Xu Feng because she considered him family and didn't want him to share her sorrow. After Yan You departed, Run Yu appeared, having overheard the conversation. He commended Jin Mi's loyalty and recognized Yan You as a formidable figure.
Xu Feng confirmed that he had previously tested Yan You, finding his pure and profound magical prowess to be superior to the other eleven Zodiac Immortals. Run Yu found it strange that Yan You seemed to surrender easily to him but possessed such hidden strength. They discussed how Yan You, despite cultivating water-based spells, was impervious to Xu Feng's fire attacks.
These inconsistencies, coupled with Yan You's familiarity with Qiwu Palace when he sought Jin Mi, raised suspicions, leading them to consider if Yan You could be the "man in black" who had disrupted Xu Feng's Nirvana. Run Yu suggested they monitor Yan You's actions rather than confront him directly, to discover who was behind him, and agreed that Yan You should be kept away from Jin Mi.
When Jin Mi woke up, she found a phoenix feather hairpin left for her. She dressed up and adorned it. When Run Yu came to her, he asked about her night, to which she replied she slept well and joked about the potent osmanthus wine. He revealed that Xu Feng had left early to visit their mother for her upcoming birthday.
Run Yu then noticed the phoenix feather hairpin and complimented its uniqueness, though he subtly suggested it was "striking" and less elegant than her previous grape vine magical hair clasp. Jin Mi, realizing Run Yu's preference, offered to give him the magical hair clasp, which he gratefully accepted. Jin Mi and Run Yu then played mahjong, with Jin Mi winning yet again.
She offered to treat Run Yu to breakfast with her winnings, excitedly explaining how "yellow and white stuffs" (money) could be used in the mortal world to buy food, clothes, positions, and even wives and children. Run Yu politely declined the offer of wives, reminding her he was already engaged. Jin Mi then attempted to conjure buns with a spell but accidentally created hailstones instead, showcasing her rudimentary magic.
The Earth Immortal, who had recovered from his drunken stupor, arrived to bid farewell to them before heading to Lord Lao's elixir chamber for his punishment. He noticed Jin Mi, still in her male disguise, and asked Run Yu to identify her.
