Sunshine Sand Quarry's sand trucks were intercepted by the police for weighing, but they were not overloaded and had all their paperwork in order. Bei Xiaoshuai informed Liu Ziguang that the land route was clear, and now everything depended on their water transport. Sun Wei, already waiting, initiated a new plan. He had men pretend to fall off a motorcycle, blocking the trucks.

When the men refused to move, Bei Xiaoshuai considered paying them off, but they escalated the argument and struck Zhuo Li, causing the situation to spiral out of control. Meanwhile, Nie Wanfeng predicted that if Liu Ziguang's land route was blocked, he would definitely use the water route. He knew Meng Zhiqi, who had guarded the pier for Hou Sihai for years, would try to intercept them, leading to a fierce confrontation.

Indeed, Meng Zhiqi and his men aggressively blocked Liu Ziguang. Liu Ziguang tried to reason with Meng Zhiqi, but he refused to listen. Knowing Meng Zhiqi's rules, Liu Ziguang realized the only way was to spar with him. Meng Zhiqi attacked first without hesitation. Although Liu Ziguang had the upper hand, he deliberately held back. Meng Zhiqi felt a sense of shame.

He genuinely expressed his admiration for Liu Ziguang, declaring him a brother from that day forward, then loudly ordered his men to clear the path. As Liu Ziguang's group was about to pass, Sun Wei reappeared with more thugs, blocking their way again. Fortunately, the police arrived promptly and apprehended the thugs, a result of Li Wan's foresight in calling the police earlier when she sensed trouble at the pier.

At Zhicheng Group, General Manager Yin confronted Li Wan, gloating that if Liu Ziguang failed to deliver the sand to the construction site on time, Li Wan's position on the board would be precarious. Li Wan, however, calmly played a puzzle game on her phone, remarking that she enjoyed "dancing on the edge of a knife." General Manager Yin was speechless and left in a huff.

When Liu Ziguang finally delivered the sand via the water route to the Zhicheng Group construction site, General Manager Yin tried to stop him, triumphantly announcing that Liu Ziguang was thirty seconds late according to the contract. Just then, Bei Xiaoshuai emerged from the back gate, proudly declaring that the sand had already been delivered through the back entrance twenty minutes earlier.

It turned out that when Bei Xiaoshuai's sand trucks were initially blocked, Li Wan had brought friends to help. General Manager Yin's joy turned to disappointment, and he left disgruntled. With the successful completion of this business deal, Liu Ziguang and his team were elated. At that moment, Li Jianguo received a phone call, and his expression changed immediately; Zhuo Li had been beaten and hospitalized.

Hu Rong rushed to the hospital after receiving the news, finding Liu Ziguang and Bei Xiaoshuai already waiting outside the intensive care unit. Zhuo Li had been severely injured by an unknown group of assailants. Tiger Brother informed Nie Wanfeng that Liu Ziguang's brother was injured, expressing concern that Liu Ziguang, being loyal, might give up for his brother's sake. Nie Wanfeng confidently stated that he understood Liu Ziguang, and "losing" was not in his vocabulary.

The police quickly identified the suspects who assaulted Zhuo Li, and Han Jin assigned Hu Rong to the interrogation. In the interrogation room, the suspect remained defiant, insisting he acted alone. Hu Rong, determined, resolved to outlast him. In the intensive care unit, Li Jianguo looked worried, suggesting they should pause sand sales, fearing Hou Sihai's retaliation against others. Bei Xiaoshuai and Li Wan strongly disagreed, believing that even if they conceded now, Hou Sihai might not spare them.

Everyone looked to Liu Ziguang for his opinion, but he remained silent, his expression grim. Deputy Song called Hu Rong into his office and reprimanded her for being too eager and violating procedures during the investigation. Hu Rong emotionally explained that she had been investigating Hou Sihai for some time without finding evidence, and seeing Zhuo Li in the ICU made her feel she hadn't done enough. Deputy Song's tone softened.

He advised her not to be too hasty, as Hou Sihai's case was significant and required careful handling. Finally, he decided to temporarily suspend Hu Rong and send her home to rest for a few days. Hu Rong dejectedly left the police station as heavy rain poured down. Liu Ziguang waited outside with an umbrella. Hu Rong expressed her frustration about being suspended and unable to catch Hou Sihai.

Liu Ziguang comforted her, sincerely telling her he knew she was a good police officer from the first time he met her, adding, "the rain won't last forever." As if on cue, the rain soon stopped. They both looked up at the sky, and a bright smile involuntarily bloomed on Hu Rong's face. Li Jianguo, at Li Wan's request, investigated General Manager Yin's background and discovered evidence of a fabricated resume.

That night, Hou Sihai was pressing his subordinates to contact General Manager Yin about the contract renewal, believing it might be necessary to put pressure on him. Hou Sihai was also informed that Wang Biao had been arrested but remained silent. The next day, General Manager Yin arrived at his office to find incriminating photos, revealing his past as a chef.

Enraged, General Manager Yin slammed his hand on the desk, accusing Li Jianguo of threatening him because he had Li Wan's backing. Li Jianguo calmly produced the contract, asking him to sign it. He reminded General Manager Yin that Chairman Li already knew about his fabricated resume and had forgiven him once, but his continued unrepentance showed ingratitude.

Li Jianguo then offered a choice: sign the contract, and Li Wan would drop the past issues, or his resume would be presented at next week's board meeting, potentially leading to dismissal without severance. To keep his position as director, General Manager Yin was forced to sign the contract. After obtaining the contract, Li Wan went to Oasis to celebrate with Liu Ziguang, Li Jianguo, and Zi Qian, proudly calling it her first independently signed contract.

However, Zi Qian cautioned her that Hou Sihai was a vicious man and she must be careful in the future. Nie Wanfeng received news of the contract between Li Wan and Liu Ziguang, and he told his subordinate that he was now just waiting for Hou Sihai to come seeking his help. Meanwhile, General Manager Yin reported to Hou Sihai about how Li Wan had coerced him, expressing surprise at Liu Ziguang's "despicable tactics."

General Manager Yin slyly suggested that while the contract was signed, fulfilling its terms was another matter. He explained that the contract required sand delivery to the Zhicheng site within five days, and failure to do so would void the agreement. Hou Sihai agreed that five days would be enough. Hou Sihai then instructed the Xue brothers to instigate a worker strike at Sunshine Sand Quarry.

The Xue brothers gathered the workers, telling them the quarry was small and rundown, destined for bankruptcy, and that they wouldn't earn much. They offered better pay at their own sand quarry. When Zhuo Li couldn't stop the workers from leaving, he angrily confronted the Xue brothers, accusing them of causing trouble. He then punched one of them, Third Brother. However, the Xue brothers falsely accused Zhuo Li of assault and dramatically cried out, demanding police intervention.

The police arrived, took Zhuo Li for questioning, and the Xue brothers demanded ¥50,000 in compensation for medical fees, mental distress, and lost wages, threatening further claims if the injury worsened. The quarry was forced to halt operations. Bei Xiaoshuai informed Liu Ziguang of these events. Liu Ziguang, distressed by Zhuo Li's injury, said he would take care of the sand quarry business and instructed Ase to protect Li Wan.

Bei Xiaoshuai's father arrived at the quarry, attempting to force Bei Xiaoshuai to leave Liu Ziguang and stop opposing Hou Sihai. Bei Xiaoshuai refused, revealing that Liu Ziguang had previously paid off his ¥1,000,000 gambling debt to Hou Sihai, saving his life. He declared he would follow Liu Ziguang through hell, reminding his mother of the importance of gratitude. Liu Ziguang and Ase decided to investigate the Xue family.

Hu Rong and her colleague were on a stakeout but found no new leads on Hou Sihai. They were following the Xue brothers, who were visiting their ailing father, Uncle Xue, in the hospital. Liu Ziguang and Ase bought fruit and went to visit Uncle Xue, pretending to be friends of Eldest Xue.

Uncle Xue, suffering from cancer, shared his story of his sons' difficult lives, working to pay for his medical treatments since their mother died early, and therefore lacking education and friends. Ase nearly blurted out the truth about the Xue brothers' misdeeds but Liu Ziguang subtly stopped him, not wanting to hurt the old man. As they left, Liu Ziguang quietly gave some money to the nurse caring for Uncle Xue.

He told Ase that some truths are best kept to oneself to avoid causing pain. Back at the sand quarry, the Xue brothers were still causing trouble. Suddenly, the nurse arrived with Uncle Xue. The sight of his sons fighting and causing disruption enraged Uncle Xue. He scolded his sons for helping Hou Sihai to commit evil, making money without conscience to pay for his medical treatments, and bringing shame upon their family. He demanded they apologize to Liu Ziguang.

The Xue brothers immediately knelt and apologized. Liu Ziguang, showing great generosity, told them there was no need, and from now on, they were brothers. He urged them to take good care of their father. The Xue brothers sincerely apologized to Liu Ziguang for their past actions. Wei Ge informed a furious Hou Sihai that Liu Ziguang's sand quarry had resumed operations. Hou Sihai cursed them as "waste."

Deputy Director Song briefed Hu Yuejin on the case of Zhen Wu, a fellow officer. Han Jin's inquiries with M Country police suggested that Zhen Wu might have been harmed, as a bar he owned shut down shortly after the open sea operation where drug kingpin Sangbo escaped. They feared Zhen Wu's cover was exposed, and he became a target of Sangbo's retaliation.

Deputy Director Song also reported that the drug "Angel" had appeared in Jiangbei and Jiangnan, leading Interpol to suspect Sangbo had re-entered the country. Han Jin later confirmed that Sangbo was not found in Macau despite extensive searches, further supporting the theory that he had returned to mainland China, specifically Jiangbei, given the appearance of "Angel" there. Deputy Director Song emphasized the critical importance of finding Sangbo and all leads related to "Angel" to dismantle the drug operation.

He particularly stressed to Han Jin the need to ensure Hu Rong's safety, stating that they owed it to Zhen Wu, whose fate remained unknown. At the police station, Zhuo Li had recovered and returned to the sand quarry, much to the joy of Liu Ziguang and Bei Xiaoshuai. Liu Ziguang advised Zhuo Li to control his temper, understanding his frustration.

He mentioned that the Xue brothers had left, both fearing Hou Sihai's revenge and taking their father for treatment elsewhere, remarking on their unexpected filial piety. In a police team meeting, Hu Rong encouraged her team, acknowledging Hou Sihai's cunning but highlighting his greatest weakness: greed. She advised everyone to remain calm, plan carefully, and wait for him to make a mistake. Deputy Song commended her insight, jokingly suggesting she was aiming for a team leader position.

Later, Officer Bai tried to set up Hu Rong and Han Jin with movie tickets, but Hu Rong cleverly redirected her to Zhao Gang. After work, Liu Ziguang waited outside the police station to pick up Hu Rong. He tried to clarify his relationship with Li Wan, asserting he had "nothing to do with her at all." Hu Rong, still reserved, responded that it was none of her business.

Liu Ziguang insisted on taking her home, citing potential dangers and her injured leg, and placed a helmet on her head. As they rode on his motorcycle, Liu Ziguang noticed they were being followed. He accelerated, and Hu Rong held him tightly, making him secretly smile. Meanwhile, Sun Wei urgently reported to Hou Sihai that Liu Ziguang's sand quarry would begin transporting sand in thirty-six hours.

Sun Wei also mentioned a more pressing issue: the police were heavily scrutinizing sand transport lines, suspecting a connection to the "Angel" drug. Hou Sihai, after a moment of thought, instructed Sun Wei to halt their operations on the transport lines, allowing him to focus entirely on dealing with Liu Ziguang. Later, Sun Wei and Hou Sihai discussed strategies to block Liu Ziguang's sand routes.

Sun Wei proposed that he would oversee the land routes, while Meng Zhiqi would handle the water routes. Hou Sihai, pleased, arranged a banquet for Meng Zhiqi. Meng Zhiqi, however, cut directly to the chase, asking if Hou Sihai wanted him to block Liu Ziguang at the pier. He agreed to do so but then, without eating a single bite, stood up and left. Hou Sihai found Meng Zhiqi's behavior peculiar and ordered Sun Wei to keep a close watch on him, suspecting foul play.
