Yan Dan was tortured by the nine heavenly thunder punishments until she was covered in wounds and on the verge of death. Yu Mo rescued Yan Dan and used all his spiritual power to heal her, but Yan Dan remained unconscious. Lu Ming cried anxiously by her side. Zhi Xi wanted to go care for Ying Yuan but was worried about being exposed.

She endured the pain and severely injured herself, creating the illusion that she had just received the heavenly thunder punishment. Ying Yuan woke up groggily and found that he had fully recovered.

He couldn't help but resent Yan Dan for doing the foolish thing of gouging out her heart to save him, but the immortal attendant said that Zhi Xi had used half of a lotus heart to detoxify him from the fiery poison and was currently receiving heavenly thunder punishment at the Heavenly Gallows for the crime of privately stealing the Fuxuan Cauldron. Ying Yuan immediately got up to see for himself.

Ying Yuan went out and saw the severely injured Zhi Xi. Before he could even speak, Zhi Xi fainted beside him. After Yu Mo's full efforts in rescue, Yan Dan finally woke up. To gain Ying Yuan's trust, she spoke flawlessly. Ying Yuan still felt something was off. Zhi Xi called him "Sovereign Lord," which Yan Dan would never call him.

Zhi Xi made an excuse to cover it up. Supreme Majesty sent immortal attendant Qing Yun to deliver Snow Spirit Ganoderma to Ying Yuan. Ying Yuan asked him about Yan Dan's recent situation. Qing Yun hadn't seen Yan Dan recently and thought she had gone out to play. Just as Yan Dan was feeling melancholic, Ying Yuan suddenly came to see her and discovered she was severely injured.

Yan Dan lied that she had used the power of the lotus to keep Celestial Deity Beiming for a bit longer. Ying Yuan didn't believe her at all and was certain that Yan Dan had gouged out her heart to save him, but Yan Dan simply wouldn't admit it. Yan Dan saw Zhi Xi's affection for Ying Yuan and deliberately spoke coldly to Ying Yuan.

Ying Yuan advised Yan Dan to participate in the immortal rank exam, but Yan Dan was not interested in it. Zhi Xi rushed to see Yan Dan, so Ying Yuan had to leave first. Yan Dan questioned Zhi Xi about why she impersonated her.

Zhi Xi lied that she was injured by Fairy Yingdeng's Heart-Piercing Drum and only managed to escape with all her might. She wanted to go to Yanxu Heavenly Palace for help but fainted. Ying Yuan rescued her and mistakenly took her for his savior, so she went along with the mistake because she was worried about being punished. Yan Dan believed her.

Zhi Xi swore she had no selfish intentions toward Ying Yuan and advised Yan Dan not to fall for Ying Yuan, otherwise she would be doomed forever. Yan Dan remembered that Ying Yuan had once said that once she developed feelings, he would kill her with his own hands. Yan Dan had no choice but to bury her feelings for Ying Yuan deep inside.

Fairy Yingdeng came to Yanxu Heavenly Palace to find Zhi Xi and met Qing Yun on the way, learning that Ying Yuan had sent him to deliver Snow Spirit Ganoderma to Yan Dan. As soon as Fairy Yingdeng saw Zhi Xi, she exposed her act of impersonating Yan Dan and took the opportunity to sow discord between Zhi Xi and Yan Dan.

Zhi Xi knew that Fairy Yingdeng was deeply in love with Ying Yuan and wanted to eliminate Yan Dan out of jealousy.
