In the chaotic aftermath of the attack at the coffin home, Drug Men emerged from their coffins and surrounded Zhou Zi Shu. As Wen Ke Xing was still disoriented by a potent hallucinogen, Zhou Zi Shu was overwhelmed by the poisonous assailants. Snapping back to his senses just in time, Wen Ke Xing swiftly killed the Drug Men and their leader, the Hanging Ghost.

As the ghost died lamenting his terrible end, Zhou Zi Shu seized a Soul Winding Box from him. Wen Ke Xing, still somewhat dazed, responded playfully when Zhou Zi Shu called his name, earning a sharp retort. Zhou Zi Shu, having been cut by a Drug Man, first gave Wen Ke Xing an antidote as a precaution. He then began to treat his own arm wound by cutting it further and sucking out the poison.

Wen Ke Xing, concerned, noticed a more severe wound on Zhou Zi Shu's shoulder and insisted on helping, pulling out the poison with his mouth. Noting the sheer number of antidotes Zhou Zi Shu carried, Wen Ke Xing wondered if he hailed from the Healer Valley. He then called out Zhou Zi Shu's masterful disguise, pointing out that while his face was covered, his skin tone on his body was different.

He pressed Zhou Zi Shu, asking who he was hiding from and offering his unwavering protection, but Zhou Zi Shu stubbornly refused to reveal his true identity or the nature of his internal injuries, despite Wen Ke Xing's emotional plea. Wen Ke Xing continued to press Zhou Zi Shu, eventually initiating a sparring match to test his skills. Due to his internal injuries, Zhou Zi Shu lost his footing and fell into a lake.

Concerned by his prolonged absence underwater, Wen Ke Xing plunged in after him, only to find Zhou Zi Shu had removed his mask, revealing his true face. Upon resurfacing, Wen Ke Xing gazed intently at Zhou Zi Shu’s genuine appearance, his suspicions confirmed. As they warmed themselves by a fire, Zhou Zi Shu playfully questioned if Wen Ke Xing’s surname was truly Wen, to which Wen Ke Xing responded with a self-flattering description of his own gentle nature.

Zhou Zi Shu then revealed that the "Hanging Ghost" they had fought was an impostor, too young to be the legendary figure. He chided Wen Ke Xing for killing him, as it meant losing a valuable source of information. Wen Ke Xing, however, claimed he acted out of concern for Zhou Zi Shu's safety.

Zhou Zi Shu then sent Wen Ke Xing to forage for food and cautiously opened the Soul Winding Box, discovering a piece of the Glazed Armor inside. Wen Ke Xing returned with two rabbits, which Zhou Zi Shu readily accepted in exchange for the "unlucky" Glazed Armor, dismissing its importance with a proverb about scattered clouds and shattered glaze. Wen Ke Xing, amused, teasingly promised to cherish the item as Zhou Zi Shu's "first gift."

Meanwhile, Wuchang Ghost reported to the Scorpion King that despite the use of magic sound, a special scent, and Drug Men, an intruder had killed Long-tongued Ghost and the Drug Men, and stolen the Glazed Armor. The Scorpion King found the turn of events increasingly "interesting." Wen Ke Xing then speculated that the Glazed Armor must be Zhao Jing's.

Zhou Zi Shu agreed, explaining that the Ghost Valley wouldn't have gone to such lengths to abduct Zhang Cheng Ling if they already possessed his family's Glazed Armor. He elaborated that the entire scenario, including the hanging of Ao Lai Zi's body at Sanbai Manor, was a deliberate trap set by the Ghost Valley to sow discord between the Five Lakes Alliance and the Mount Tai Sect. Wen Ke Xing was visibly impressed by Zhou Zi Shu’s astute insights.

The next morning, Zhao Jing and Shen Shen aggressively questioned Zhang Cheng Ling about the events at Mirror Lake Manor and the two men who had protected him. Still traumatized and suffering from a fever that had blurred his memory, Zhang Cheng Ling insisted he couldn't recall the details. Shen Shen, enraged, reminded the boy of the tragic deaths of his family and 300 others, suggesting Zhang Cheng Ling was forgetting his duty to seek revenge.

Zhao Jing intervened, comforting Zhang Cheng Ling and gently rebuking Shen Shen for pressuring the child. He reassured Zhang Cheng Ling that they would avenge his family and that all major decisions regarding the Glazed Armor would be made by their eldest brother at the upcoming Heroes Conference in Yueyang. Zhao Jing, Shen Shen, and Yu Qiu Feng prepared to depart for the Heroes Conference, where they intended to unite the martial arts world against the Ghost Valley.

Zhao Jing advised caution to Yu Qiu Feng, urging him to restrain his disciples due to the recent unrest. Shen Shen, however, scoffed at Zhao Jing's apprehensions, proclaiming his readiness to face any evil ghost who dared to emerge. Later, Zhou Zi Shu and Wen Ke Xing returned to Zhao's Ancestral Hall, only to find all traces of the previous night's battle completely erased, suggesting a powerful and organized force had cleaned up.

Wen Ke Xing pressed Zhou Zi Shu about the strange scent that had caused their hallucinations. Zhou Zi Shu revealed it was "Drunk Like a Dream," a hallucinogen he had adapted from an ancient recipe by turning it into an incense. He admitted he was unsure how the Ghost Valley acquired the exotic main ingredient, Wangyou Cao (Forget-Worry Grass), as it was not native to the Central Plains.

When Zhou Zi Shu asked what Wen Ke Xing had seen in his own hallucination, Wen Ke Xing evaded the question with a humorous anecdote. This left Zhou Zi Shu to silently ponder Wen Ke Xing's mysterious background and uncanny knowledge of the Four Seasons Manor, wondering about their true connection. As Zhao Jing, Shen Shen, and Zhang Cheng Ling continued their journey, an official from Prince Jin's Window of Heaven, Han Ying, arrived at Sanbai Manor.

Zhou Zi Shu, recognizing Han Ying, realized the Window of Heaven was now deeply involved in the Glazed Armor affair. Wen Ke Xing suggested they attend the Heroes Conference, seeing it as an opportunity to observe a "dogfight" among the martial sects and expressing pity for Zhang Cheng Ling's vulnerable position. Wen Ke Xing stated he would first go to arrange matters with Gu Xiang and then meet Zhou Zi Shu in Yueyang.

Zhou Zi Shu, worried about Zhang Cheng Ling, agreed and departed to follow Zhao Jing and Shen Shen, growing impatient with their leisurely pace. Wen Ke Xing visited a shop and commissioned thirty identical copies of the Glazed Armor, threatening the shopkeeper to ensure their completion within three days. He then returned to his residence, where he found Gu Xiang playing a game with Yun Cai and Hong Lu.

Yun Cai and Hong Lu, grateful to Wen Ke Xing and Gu Xiang for saving them from a life of being "sold around like kittens or puppies," pledged their eternal loyalty. Wen Ke Xing initially offered them silver to go their own way, but Gu Xiang interceded, vouching for their devotion and explaining their orphan status.

Wen Ke Xing relented, allowing them to stay as Gu Xiang's personal maids, though he warned Gu Xiang that she would be responsible for any future consequences. Finally, Wen Ke Xing showed Gu Xiang the thirty fake Glazed Armor pieces and assigned her two crucial tasks: one requiring immediate action and the other demanding careful planning.
