Word of Honor Episode 29 Recap
> Word of Honor Recap
Zhou Zishu hurried to the Ping’an Silver Bank to inquire about Da Wu’s whereabouts, but found the doors tightly shut. Anxious and at a loss, he didn’t know what to do. Meanwhile, Wen Kexing was channeling all his internal energy to heal Han Ying’s wounds, but the effort yielded little effect. Knowing he was beyond saving, Han Ying advised Wen Kexing not to waste his strength any further.
Wen Kexing felt deep guilt—had he not preemptively forged thirty pieces of Glazed Armor, Han Ying wouldn’t have risked his life to steal the fake piece from Prince Jin’s residence, falling into his trap and suffering grave injuries. Wen Kexing swore to save Han Ying, even at the cost of his life. Zhang Chengling, hearing movement outside, rushed out and discovered that the hounds of the Window of Heaven had arrived at Four Seasons Manor.
When Zhou Zishu returned to the manor, he noticed many sky lanterns drifting in the sky, sensing something was wrong. He quickly climbed to a high vantage point and saw Duan Pengju leading the Window of Heaven’s men to surround Four Seasons Manor. He became deeply worried about Wen Kexing and Zhang Chengling’s safety.
Zhou Zishu soon reached the manor and was relieved to find that the three of them were unharmed, and that Zhang Chengling had already driven off all the scouts. Zhou Zishu instructed Zhang Chengling to activate the manor’s defense mechanisms to stop the Window of Heaven’s men from breaking in. He hurried inside to check on Han Ying, only to find that he had severed his heart vessels and died.
Wen Kexing held Han Ying’s body, crying in agony, overwhelmed with remorse. Zhou Zishu tried to comfort him, but Wen Kexing, overcome with grief and having exhausted his internal energy, fainted. Zhou Zishu asked Zhang Chengling to take Wen Kexing and Han Ying into the secret chamber. Zhang Chengling insisted on staying to live or die with him. Zhou Zishu repeatedly assured him that Prince Jin had only sent Duan Pengju to bring him back, and would not harm him.
Outside, the Window of Heaven’s hounds loudly delivered Prince Jin’s command, summoning Zhou Zishu back to Jinzhou. Zhang Chengling had no choice but to comply. Zhou Zishu opened the gate, and Duan Pengju mocked him before ordering his arrest. Gu Xiang and Cao Weining were living peacefully, depending on each other each day. But Gu Xiang couldn’t hide her longing for Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu.
Cao Weining saw through her feelings and agreed to accompany her back to Four Seasons Manor. Gu Xiang didn’t dare go, afraid Wen Kexing would scold her. Just then, the long sound of a horn echoed from the mountain. Cao Weining realized they were under attack, and Gu Xiang recognized the army of drugged soldiers raised by the Scorpion King. Without hesitation, she led Cao Weining up the mountain.
The Scorpion King led his drugged soldiers to ransack the Qingfeng Sword Sect. Fan Huaikong took the remaining disciples to hide in the back mountain. When Gu Xiang and Cao Weining arrived, they were met with scenes of carnage. The two quickly went to regroup with the others in the back. Duan Pengju captured Zhou Zishu and set Four Seasons Manor ablaze. As Zhou Zishu watched the picturesque manor—where spring reigned all year—reduced to ashes, his heart ached with pain.
Duan Pengju laughed triumphantly. With a command, the Window of Heaven’s men departed, escorting Zhou Zishu’s prison cart. Gu Xiang and Cao Weining arrived at a cave in the back mountain, a retreat for Qingfeng’s past masters. Cao Weining was shocked to hear that Mo Huaiyang had fought with the drugged soldiers and now was missing, presumed dead. Gu Xiang applied medicine to the wounded disciples.
Fan Huaikong insisted that the drugged soldiers were raised by Wen Kexing, the Chief of Ghost Valley. Cao Weining was stunned—he had never imagined that the man he had long admired could be the evil one. Wen Kexing, drifting in and out of consciousness, recalled his childhood. He had lived in a small village with his parents, waiting for Qin Huaizhang to take them to Four Seasons Manor.
Unexpectedly, Zhao Jing came instead, trying to force Zhen Ruyu and Miao Miao to hand over the arsenal’s keys. They refused. In anger, Zhao Jing threatened to kill them. But Miao Miao had already poisoned the tea. Zhao Jing demanded the antidote. Miao Miao gave him only a temporary cure for three months. Furious, Zhao Jing left. Wen Kexing, hiding behind the door, saw everything. He woke from the nightmare and became convinced that Zhao Jing had killed his parents.
Determined to seek revenge, he stormed off despite Zhang Chengling’s desperate attempts to stop him. When Da Wu and Qi Ye Jing Beiyuan arrived at Four Seasons Manor, they found it completely destroyed. Da Wu discovered a charred corpse and concluded it was Zhou Zishu. Jing Beiyuan didn’t believe it—having served under Prince Jin, he was sure Prince Jin wouldn’t kill Zhou Zishu so easily. Just then, Wen Kexing appeared shouting for revenge, with Zhang Chengling chasing after him.
After learning that Zhou Zishu had been taken by Prince Jin’s men, Da Wu subdued Wen Kexing and had Zhang Chengling recount the events in detail. The Scorpion Sect’s drugged soldiers had surrounded the cave for days. With supplies running out, Cao Weining refused to sit and wait for death. He discussed a breakout plan with Mo Weixu. Gu Xiang volunteered to fight alongside them.
