Word of Honor Episode 29 Recap
> Word of Honor Recap
Zhou Zishu rushed to Ping An Bank to inquire about the Grand Wizard's whereabouts, only to find the doors tightly shut and no one inside, leaving him at a loss. Meanwhile, Wen Ke Xing exerted all his internal force to heal Han Ying. Han Ying, sensing his own imminent death, urged Wen Ke Xing to stop, expressing concern that further exertion would only harm Wen Ke Xing and that he felt unworthy of such a sacrifice.
Wen Ke Xing, however, was overcome with guilt and vowed to save Han Ying at all costs, even if it meant his own exhaustion. He explained that Zhou Zishu would be devastated by Han Ying's death, especially after the trauma of losing Junior Jiu Xiao. When Zhang Cheng Ling offered his own meager internal force to help, Wen Ke Xing gently dismissed him, playfully chiding him for being lazy in his training.
Han Ying, in a moment of lucidity, expressed his admiration for Zhang Cheng Ling becoming Zhou Zishu's disciple and wistfully wished he could have been one too, even for a day. Zhang Cheng Ling promised that once Han Ying recovered, they would ask Zhou Zishu to accept him as a senior disciple, and they could all live, train, and tend the gardens together at Four Seasons Manor. Overwhelmed by remorse, Wen Ke Xing blamed himself for Han Ying's critical condition.
He regretted duplicating and circulating the fake Glazed Armors, believing it led to Han Ying being ensnared in Prince Jin's trap and risking his life for a mere replica. Outside, Zhang Cheng Ling heard a commotion and discovered that Window of Heaven agents were surrounding Four Seasons Manor. Zhou Zishu, returning to the area, saw numerous sky lanterns signaling danger.
From a vantage point, he spotted Duan Peng Ju leading the Window of Heaven forces, and his heart sank with worry for Wen Ke Xing and Zhang Cheng Ling. Upon reaching the manor, Zhou Zishu was relieved to find them safe, with Zhang Cheng Ling having already repelled the initial attackers. Zhou Zishu immediately instructed Zhang Cheng Ling to activate the manor's defensive mechanisms.
He rushed inside to check on Han Ying, only to discover that Han Ying had already severed his own heart meridians, choosing death to avoid being a burden. Wen Ke Xing clutched Han Ying's lifeless body, weeping uncontrollably and consumed by self-blame. He lamented not heeding Han Ying's earlier plea to abandon him and protect Zhang Cheng Ling, realizing that his actions with the fake Glazed Armor had precipitated this tragedy.
Overwhelmed by grief and depleted internal energy, Wen Ke Xing collapsed into unconsciousness. Zhou Zishu, examining Wen Ke Xing's pulse, noted its chaotic nature and his empty elixir field, a sign of severe internal damage that could lead to the loss of his martial arts or even death if not swiftly treated. Zhou Zishu instructed Zhang Cheng Ling to hide Wen Ke Xing and Han Ying's body in a secret room.
Zhang Cheng Ling initially refused, determined to face death alongside them. Zhou Zishu reassured him by revealing his past as the former leader of the Window of Heaven and Prince Jin's cousin, explaining that the current forces only sought to capture him, not kill him. He stressed the urgency of Wen Ke Xing's condition, stating that he was on the verge of a martial arts deviation due to extreme internal force depletion and needed immediate care.
He urged Zhang Cheng Ling to protect Wen Ke Xing, and once Wen Ke Xing recovered, they could then come to Jin to rescue him. Outside, Window of Heaven agents loudly announced Prince Jin's decree, summoning Zhou Zishu back to Jin. With no other choice, Zhang Cheng Ling reluctantly complied, leading Wen Ke Xing and Han Ying's body into the secret passage. Zhou Zishu then opened the manor gates to confront Duan Peng Ju.
Duan Peng Ju mocked Zhou Zishu's apparent health despite the "Nails of Seven Torments" and accused him of always being loyal to Four Seasons Manor, not Prince Jin. He revealed that Han Ying had been Zhou Zishu's secret agent, whose discovery led them to the manor, and that the Glazed Armor Han Ying stole was a fake, part of Prince Jin's carefully laid trap.
With a cruel smirk, Duan Peng Ju ordered the manor to be set ablaze, declaring that Han Ying would serve as a "funeral object" for the Four Seasons Manor, thus achieving a "fitting end." As the beautiful manor was consumed by flames, Zhou Zishu watched, his heart filled with agonizing pain. Duan Peng Ju further relayed Prince Jin's ruthless command: "If he is loyal to his old sword, break it. If he cannot depart from his homeland, then ruin it."
Zhou Zishu reflected on his past, recalling his earnest desire to establish the Window of Heaven to bring light to a dark world, only to realize that his self-sacrifice had inadvertently served to empower the very evils he fought against. Duan Peng Ju then ordered Zhou Zishu's arrest and their departure to Jin. Meanwhile, Gu Xiang and Cao Weining enjoyed a peaceful existence, though Gu Xiang still harbored a longing for Wen Ke Xing and Zhou Zishu.
Noticing her wistfulness, Cao Weining offered to accompany her to Four Seasons Manor, but Gu Xiang hesitated, fearing Wen Ke Xing's displeasure. She confessed that she was simply unaccustomed to such tranquility and worried that their happy days might vanish. Cao Weining, holding her hand, sincerely promised never to leave her side. Their tender moment was interrupted by the blare of a warning horn from the mountains.
Cao Weining recognized it as an invasion alarm, while Gu Xiang immediately identified the sound as belonging to the Scorpion's Drug Men army. Without hesitation, she led Cao Weining towards the mountain. They arrived at the Gentle Wind Sword Sect to find a scene of devastation, with many disciples wounded or dead. They quickly made their way to the back mountain, where the remaining disciples had taken refuge in an ancestral cave.
Cao Weining expressed concern for Mo Huai Yang, who had gone to fight the Drug Men and whose fate remained unknown. Gu Xiang offered a special antidote powder to the injured disciples, explaining that it was made by a friend of her master and specifically countered the corpse poison carried by the Drug Men. She described the Drug Men as once-living people, transformed into tireless, pain-immune monsters through dark witchcraft, whose toxic claws required caution.
Fan Huai Kong, overhearing this, angrily accused the Ghost Valley of creating such abominations, and explicitly named Wen Ke Xing as the valley chief. Cao Weining was stunned and disheartened to learn that his admired "Brother Wen" was the notorious leader of the Ghost Valley. Wen Ke Xing, still unconscious, was tormented by nightmares of his childhood. He relived the memory of his parents, Zhen Ru Yu and Zhen Miao Miao, living in seclusion, awaiting Qin Huai Zhang's arrival.
Instead, Zhao Jing appeared, pressuring his parents to hand over the armory key. His mother, Miao Miao, had secretly poisoned Zhao Jing's tea, offering only a three-month antidote and using it as leverage to protect her family. She warned him that the poison was incurable without her family's continued existence.
Young Wen Ke Xing, watching from behind a door, witnessed the entire exchange and subsequently blamed himself for bringing Zhao Jing to their home, only to be comforted by his mother. Waking from the terrifying dream, Wen Ke Xing was consumed by rage and grief, convinced that Zhao Jing was responsible for his parents' deaths. He tried to rush out to seek revenge, but Zhang Cheng Ling desperately struggled to restrain him.
At the Four Seasons Manor, the Grand Wizard, Wu Xi, and Prince Qi, Jing Bei Yuan, surveyed the charred ruins. Wu Xi, after a thorough search, found a single charred male body and concluded it was Zhou Zishu, ordering it buried. Jing Bei Yuan, however, remained skeptical, believing that Prince Jin would not easily kill Zhou Zishu and that his loyal former subordinates from Four Seasons Manor would protect him.
Wu Xi, with a heavy heart, revealed to Jing Bei Yuan that Prince Jin had, in fact, long since massacred all of Four Seasons Manor's former disciples, which was the true reason Zhou Zishu had abandoned the Window of Heaven and wandered the world. Just then, they encountered the frantic Wen Ke Xing, still trying to break free from Zhang Cheng Ling's grip and yelling about vengeance.
Zhang Cheng Ling quickly explained that Zhou Zishu had been captured by the Window of Heaven and that Wen Ke Xing was suffering from a martial arts deviation. Wu Xi intervened, swiftly subduing Wen Ke Xing, telling him that Zhou Zishu was safe though captured, then instructed him to rest, assuring Zhang Cheng Ling that Wen Ke Xing was merely exhausted. Back in the cave, days passed, and food supplies dwindled rapidly.
Cao Weining and Mo Wei Xu discussed their precarious situation, debating whether to launch a desperate counterattack against the Drug Men outside. Gu Xiang resolutely volunteered to join the fight, asserting that she was no outsider and was willing to die alongside them, adding with defiance that she had probably killed more people than Mo Wei Xu.
