Wen Kexing harshly rebuked Ye Baiyi, who remained determined to check Zhou Zishu’s wounds, urging him to accept treatment or face withered meridians. Even the old master of the Divine Healer Valley couldn’t help. Wen Kexing was very anxious and tended to Zhou Zishu attentively. Ye Baiyi disliked Wen Kexing’s demeanor, and the two fought. Zhou Zishu hurriedly stepped in to stop them. Ye Baiyi couldn’t bear to see Zhou Zishu fading away and pressured him to receive treatment.

Wen Kexing also wanted to see Zhou’s injuries. Zhou removed his shirt, revealing the scars left by the Nails of Seven Torments. Both were shocked, not knowing who could invent such a cruel punishment. Zhou Zishu admitted he was the one who created it. Ye Baiyi, setting aside emotion, hurried him inside to take his pulse.

After a thorough examination, Ye Baiyi promised to extend his life by ten years, but only if Zhou abandoned his martial arts and inner strength, or risked qi deviation. Zhou gently declined the offer. Zhou Zishu walked in the rain to a lakeside pavilion. Wen Kexing followed and learned he had only two years left to live. Heartbroken, Wen Kexing begged Zhou to accept Ye Baiyi’s treatment.

But Zhou Zishu, who had endured this torture for freedom, refused to live on by losing his martial abilities. Not wanting to lose such a soulmate, Wen Kexing couldn’t help shedding tears. Zhou Zishu, suppressing his sorrow, gave Wen Kexing a harsh scolding and left. The more Wen Kexing thought about it, the sadder he became. Just as he was about to avenge his great hatred, Zhou was going to leave him.

He sat alone at the bridge, playing the flute as cold rain lashed his face and body. Gu Xiang returned to the Tragicomic Ghost Luo Fumeng’s List of the Unfaithful. She learned Gao Chong had led a massacre there, killing 47 Ghost Valley disciples and capturing Luo Fumeng. Gu Xiang gathered details from the wounded and rushed through the rain overnight to inform Wen Kexing. Soaked, Wen Kexing ignored her words, still consumed by Zhou Zishu’s illness.

He sighed toward the sky, lamenting fate’s cruelty, then drifted away. Ao Laizi was killed, and Qingsong succeeded him as head of the Mount Tai Sect. Wearing mourning clothes, he led disciples to seek help from Huang He, kneeling and begging him to seek justice for Ao Laizi. Huang He readily agreed and promised to rally the Beggar Gang to eliminate the evildoers. Only then did Qingsong leave.

Madam Peachblossom and Old Man Green Willow advised Huang He to publicly challenge Gao Chong. Though Huang He had leverage on Gao Chong, he still wasn’t ready for direct confrontation. Luo Fumeng was imprisoned by the Five Lakes Alliance. Zhao Jing visited her, seeing his former lover now a vengeful ghost who kills unfaithful men. Beaten and covered in scars, she no longer recognized him. Zhao Jing, disappointed, left in frustration.

Wen Kexing believed Gao Chong wouldn’t kill Luo Fumeng yet, wanting to keep her until the Heroes Conference. He sent Liu Qianqiao, disguised as Yu Qiufeng, to find her whereabouts. Cao Weining’s senior, Cao Weixu, arrived at Yueyang for the conference. Upon hearing of Cao Weining’s pursuit of Gu Xiang, he advised him to focus. But Cao Weining expressed sincere feelings for Gu Xiang, unwilling to end up lonely like his uncle.

Learning Gu Xiang was unwell, he rushed to see her, leaving Cao Weixu helpless. Shen Shen brought disciples to set up the Heroes Conference venue when suddenly a chilling wind blew and yellow papers floated from the sky. He suspected Ghost Valley’s interference and ordered the disciples to prepare. Huang He and Beggar Gang disciples, along with Qingsong and Mount Tai disciples in mourning, stormed in and wrecked the venue.

Liu Qianqiao, disguised as Yu Qiufeng, came looking for Shen Shen. Learning he wasn’t in, she insisted on going in for a cup of tea. Hearing someone had caused trouble at the venue, the Yueyang disciples rushed out. Liu Qianqiao seized the chance to search for Luo Fumeng’s prison and ran into the real Yu Qiufeng. She handed him the Glazed Armor and asked for help in rescuing Luo Fumeng.

Yu Qiufeng agreed and advised her to leave the Yueyang Sect quickly to avoid danger. Qingsong called on disciples to avenge Shen Shen, who swore that Ao Laizi was killed by Ghost Valley. Qinghua recalled clearly that when Ao Laizi was killed, the Changing Ghost said it was on Shen Shen’s orders and planned to eliminate all Mount Tai disciples. Qinghua rushed to fight the ghost and was seriously injured, barely escaping to report back. Shen Shen denied all accusations.

Huang He stepped out to accuse him. Elder Fan Huaikong of the Qingfeng Sect defended Shen Shen and questioned Qinghua’s testimony, suggesting they wait for Gao Chong to preside. Wen Kexing sat in a nearby pavilion watching the drama, while Zhou Zishu was disguised in the crowd. Gao Chong soon arrived and affirmed that Ao Laizi died nobly trying to protect Zhang Chengling.
