Wen Kexing, full of guilt, helped bury the Four Gentlemen of Anji himself. The frozen ground was as hard as iron. He used his sword to dig a grave bit by bit until the blade broke. Zhou Zishu arrived shortly after and was heartbroken at the sight. He scolded Wen Kexing for the needless killings. Wen Kexing, already filled with regret, felt further wronged.

He had only wanted to rid the world of villains, but instead, good people like the Four Gentlemen had died. He angrily exposed Zhou Zishu’s past as the Window of Heaven’s leader who also had little regard for life, rendering Zhou Zishu speechless. Zhou Zishu went alone to the pavilion where the Four Gentlemen once played music and recited poetry. He was overwhelmed with emotion. Han Ying saw him from a distance.

That night, Wen Kexing drank himself into a stupor at a brothel, presenting fake Glazed Armor and offering each girl a gold bead to drink with him. Though the girls cheerfully indulged, Wen Kexing could not find joy. He did not want to lose Zhou Zishu, his confidant. At the same time, Zhou Zishu also drowned his sorrows at a tavern, drinking himself unconscious.

Gao Chong sent Shen Shen to capture Feng Xiaofeng, the killer of the Four Gentlemen, but to no avail. Shen Shen promised to catch him after the Heroes Conference. When Zhao Jing arrived to help with the burials, he found the graves half-dug and suspected Huang He and the Beggar Sect. Shen Shen recalled following Ao Laizi and others that night and seeing paper money scattered at the scene of their murder, concluding that Ghost Valley was behind it.

Zhao Jing accused him of trying to seize the Glazed Armor from Ao Laizi and blamed him. Shen Shen retorted, insisting the armor rightfully belonged to the Five Lakes Alliance. Their argument escalated until Gao Chong stepped in to stop them. Yu Qiufeng sent people searching for Yu Tianjie but found nothing. Deeply worried and unsettled by recent events, he ordered his disciples not to get involved in martial conflicts.

When disciples from Mount Tai visited, he refused to see them. Since the death of the Four Gentlemen, Zhou Zishu had been melancholy every day. Han Ying was worried about the internal injuries caused by the Nails of Seven Torments and wanted to seek help from a miracle doctor. Zhou Zishu knew his days were numbered, and his injuries were beyond saving. He advised Han Ying to stay hidden in the Window of Heaven.

Zhou Zishu handed the real Glazed Armor to Han Ying, who then realized the two pieces he had submitted were fakes and wanted to retrieve them. Zhou Zishu forbade him from getting further involved. Granny Tao Hong, Old Man Green Willow, and Huang He were still upset over the fake armor.

Upon hearing the rumor that Gao Chong planned to marry his daughter Gao Xiaolian to Zhang Chengling, they were furious and accused Gao Chong of trying to dominate the martial world. Gu Xiang showed great care for Zhang Chengling. Seeing his face bruised from beatings, she wanted to avenge him, but Zhang Chengling stopped her. Being under house arrest in Yueyang Sect, he didn’t want more trouble and advised Gu Xiang to let it go.

Gao Xiaolian personally brought desserts to Zhang Chengling. He had already heard about the marriage arrangement and felt unworthy of her, treating her with polite distance. Gao Xiaolian left with tears in her eyes. Gu Xiang scolded Zhang Chengling for being foolish, but he was resolute and eager to find Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu. Gu Xiang immediately returned to report to Wen Kexing. Deng Kuan was the last survivor of the Tragicomic Game's ten participants.

He had feelings for Gao Xiaolian but fell ill after returning. Gu Xiang was puzzled—Deng Kuan hadn’t been seriously injured during the melee. She couldn’t understand why Gao Chong would marry Gao Xiaolian to Zhang Chengling. Feeling sorry for Zhang Chengling, she begged Wen Kexing to rescue him. Wen Kexing forbade her from getting involved, suspecting Gao Chong had ulterior motives and sent Gu Xiang to keep an eye on him.

After much thought, Wen Kexing decided to go completely mad and plunge the martial world into chaos. Despite repeatedly showing kindness to Zhang Chengling, Gao Xiaolian was always rejected. Heartbroken, she forced herself to stay composed and brought lotus seed soup to Gao Chong. He asked her to give it to Zhang Chengling, but she begged him to cancel the engagement and tearfully shared her feelings.

Gao Chong gently comforted her and promised to persuade Zhang Chengling when the time was right. Gu Xiang invited Cao Weining to a meal and even ordered the tune “Parting Joy” to set the mood. Cao Weining mistakenly thought Gu Xiang liked him and couldn’t be happier. Wen Kexing issued a secret order summoning all the Ten Devils and minor ghosts of Ghost Valley.

He pointed out that after being out of the valley for three months, they still hadn’t found the Hanging Ghost. He then listed all their failures in purging evil. In front of everyone, he executed White Grim Reaper for harboring rebellious thoughts. The rest trembled in fear. Wen Kexing discussed with them his plan to cause chaos at the Heroes Conference and bring disgrace to Gao Chong and others.
