The Untamed Episode 15 Recap
> The Untamed Recap
The leader of the Yao clan of Pingyang, accompanied by his sole surviving follower, arrived at Lotus Cove seeking refuge with Clan Leader Jiang Fengmian. The Yao Clan Leader, bleeding and severely wounded, recounted a harrowing tale. Their disciples, after enduring immense hardships, had managed to escape from Qishan to Pingyang, only to be pursued and massacred by the Wen clan.
The Clan Leader himself was gravely injured, leaving them with no other recourse but to seek aid from the Yunmeng Jiang clan. Jiang Fengmian promptly ordered a suite prepared for the Yao Clan Leader to recover. Jiang Cheng, however, expressed his concern, noting that Wen Ruohan had issued a decree to track down and exterminate the families of any disciples who had escaped Qishan. He feared that Lotus Cove might not be a safe haven.
Jiang Fengmian acknowledged this, recognizing that with Wen Ruohan slaughtering various cultivation clans, only the Lanling Jin clan possessed the strength to contend with them. Jiang Yanli added that Jin Zixuan was a decent person and, citing how he had helped her rescue Wei Wuxian, believed the Jin clan wouldn't stand by idly. Thus, Jiang Fengmian decided he would depart for Lanling the next day with Jiang Yanli, escorting the Yao clan leader.
He instructed Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng to remain and guard Lotus Cove. Before Jiang Yanli left, Yu Ziyuan gave her refreshments and medicine, advising her to give the latter to "someone" if they suffered from a headache again, subtly referring to Wei Wuxian. The following day, after Jiang Fengmian and Jiang Yanli set off, Wei Wuxian mused that the Wen clan would not let the matter of the Slaughter Xuanwu's death go.
He expressed his disgust at their ruthlessness in exterminating even minor clans like the Yao and urged Jiang Cheng to plan for a potential attack. Jiang Cheng defiantly declared he would kill any Wen clan members who dared to approach. Meanwhile, Wen Chao reported to Wen Ruohan about the death of the Slaughter Xuanwu. Wen Chao noted that while the beast was dead, the magical object that had sealed it within its cave was missing.
Wen Ruohan, already troubled by issues related to the Yin Iron and his own failing health, erupted in anger. He ordered Wen Chao to locate the missing object and granted him permission to execute his plans for Yunmeng, implicitly allowing the slaughter of Lotus Cove. Acting on these orders, Wang Lingjiao arrived in Yunmeng with Wen clan guards.
She arbitrarily arrested a Jiang disciple over his kite, accusing him of treason because its sun-like design supposedly symbolized "shooting down the sun," a great disrespect to the Qishan Wen clan. When Wei Wuxian sarcastically countered by asking if oranges should also be forbidden, Wang Lingjiao revealed her true purpose: to punish Wei Wuxian on Wen Chao's orders.
She demanded that Yu Ziyuan severely punish Wei Wuxian as an example, provocatively adding that a light punishment would only confirm the rumors that he was Jiang Fengmian's illegitimate son. To protect her clan, a reluctant Yu Ziyuan raised Zidian and lashed Wei Wuxian, inflicting painful wounds. Unsatisfied, Wang Lingjiao ruthlessly demanded that Yu Ziyuan chop off Wei Wuxian's right hand. Her face grim, Yu Ziyuan ordered her maids, Jinzhu and Yinzhu, to close the main gates.
Wang Lingjiao, mistakenly believing Yu Ziyuan would comply, gloated and declared that Lotus Cove would be repurposed as the Wen clan's new Supervisory Office. As Jiang Cheng shielded Wei Wuxian, Yu Ziyuan suddenly slapped Wang Lingjiao to the ground. She swiftly incapacitated the guards with Zidian, then seized Wang Lingjiao's chin, slapped her again, and contemptuously pinned her to the ground with her foot.
Wang Lingjiao shrieked threats, but Yu Ziyuan scoffed, asserting that a "mean maid" had no right to punish her family in her own home. She ridiculed Wang Lingjiao's unknown "Yingchuan Wang clan" and declared her own superiority. When Wang Lingjiao threatened that Wen Chao's arrival was imminent, Yu Ziyuan defiantly challenged the Wen clan to do their worst. Just as she ordered her subordinates to kill Wang Lingjiao, Wen Zhuliu arrived and saved her.
Yu Ziyuan scornfully ridiculed Wen Zhuliu for abandoning his ancestral name, Zhao, to serve the Wens. While they fought, Wang Lingjiao fled to send a signal for reinforcements. In his attempt to protect his mother, Jiang Cheng took a direct blow from Wen Zhuliu, allowing Wang Lingjiao to successfully fire her signal. While her maids desperately held off Wen Zhuliu, Yu Ziyuan rushed Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian to a boat.
She used Zidian to bind them together, commanding Wei Wuxian to protect Jiang Cheng with his life. With a defiant final remark that she could manage without Jiang Fengmian, she kicked the boat away from the shore, applying a spell to accelerate its speed. As the boys struggled, they encountered the returning Jiang Fengmian and Jiang Yanli.
Upon learning what had happened, Jiang Fengmian used Zidian to bind all three—Wei Wuxian, Jiang Yanli, and Jiang Cheng—together, instructing them to seek refuge with their grandmother in Meishan. He then turned back alone, resolute in his decision to return to Lotus Cove and face their fate alongside his wife.
