> The Longest Promise Recap

Zhu Yan believed that Zhi Yuan had always been with her since childhood, and it was because of his words that she met her master on the mountain. Zhu Yan confessed that she loved Zhi Yuan, and in the past, she broke off the engagement with the Qing Clan because she was seen confessing her feelings to Zhi Yuan in the garden. Shi Ying only realized at this moment that he had been delusional all along, thinking that Zhu Yan liked him.

Zhu Yan pleaded with Shi Ying to spare Zhi Yuan's life and promised that she would live in seclusion with him from now on, making sure no one could find them. However, Shi Ying stated that the evil force had already emerged, and he must kill the Sea Emperor, Zhi Yuan, even though he was Zhu Yan's beloved. Shi Ying launched the Heavenly Punishment spell to kill Zhi Yuan, but Zhu Yan used the Heavenly Tree to counter the spell. Shi Ying saw Zhu Yan injured and couldn't bear it. In the end, he chose to withdraw the spell, causing the backlash to harm himself.

After waking up, Shi Ying inquired about Zhu Yan's condition from Chong Ming and learned that she had been safely sent back by him. The Sea Kingdom soldiers protected the injured Sea Emperor and broke through Qing Gang and Bai Fenglin's encirclement to retreat. Chong Ming found out that Shi Ying was injured because of Zhu Yan and was astonished, feeling that there must be a misunderstanding. However, Shi Ying believed that matters of the heart couldn't be judged, and he knew he would still kill Zhi Yuan. He didn't know how to face Zhu Yan when the time came.

Da Si Ming visited Shi Ying, asking about his injuries. Shi Ying explained that he was not familiar with the Jiao Clan's secret passages and got injured due to an ambush. Da Si Ming said he would conceal the news of Shi Ying's injuries and claim that he was in seclusion for cultivation. Da Si Ming asked Chong Ming to go with him to get medicine for Shi Ying and inquired about the reason Shi Ying was injured by the Heavenly Punishment spell. Under pressure, Chong Ming revealed it was because of Zhu Yan. Da Si Ming regretted not killing Zhu Yan, the one destined to harm Shi Ying, back then. Instead, he used the Heart Curse on her. If Zhu Yan ever harbored killing intent towards Shi Ying, she would immediately be backlashed to death. Da Si Ming left Zhu Yan alive back then to let Shi Ying return to the mortal world. If Zhu Yan continued to be entangled with Shi Ying, he would undoubtedly get rid of her.

Shi Ying secretly overheard the conversation between Da Si Ming and Chong Ming, learning about Da Si Ming's plan. After being unconscious for several days, Zhu Yan woke up and immediately inquired about her parents, the Sea Emperor's condition. Upon hearing that the Sea Emperor had escaped, she assumed her master had spared Zhi Yuan. Zhu Yan also knew that she had lied and caused chaos in the situation, and her master must be very angry with her. She also worried about Shi Ying, who was severely injured due to the backlash of the Heavenly Punishment spell.

Zhu Yan came to see Shi Ying, concerned that he was injured because he showed mercy to Zhi Yuan that day. Shi Ying didn't admit his injuries. To prevent Da Si Ming from wanting to kill Zhu Yan himself, Shi Ying coldly stated that the reason he didn't kill Zhu Yan and Zhi Yuan last time was that Zhu Yan once saved him at the Cangwu Abyss. However, next time, he wouldn't show mercy. Shi Ying severed their master-disciple relationship, stating that he no longer had a disciple like Zhu Yan who was disloyal and disregarded the nation's interests. He took back the Yugu bone and ordered Zhu Yan to leave immediately. Zhu Yan cried bitterly at the break of their master-disciple relationship and pleaded with Shi Ying.

Shi Ying cruelly made Zhu Yan kneel in the courtyard and refused to let Chong Ming persuade her to leave. He wanted Zhu Yan to die in her heart and leave him so Da Si Ming wouldn't harm her. Zhu Yan knelt in Shi Ying's courtyard all night and refused to leave. Bai Xuelu came to deliver food for Shi Ying and saw Zhu Yan kneeling in apology. She persuaded Zhu Yan to leave. Zhu Yan realized that her master wouldn't easily change his mind and thought that if Zhi Yuan could truly bring peace between the two clans, perhaps her master would forgive her. She decided to find Zhi Yuan.

Bai Xuelu had always tried to present herself to Shi Ying and make others believe she was the perfect candidate for the position of the Crown Prince's consort. Qing Gang came to see Bai Xuelu and learned that Bai Xuelu was sent by Bai Fenglin to steal information in the past. When Bai Xuelu gave Qing Gang a scarf at Jiuyi Mountain, there was a leaf hidden inside the scarf. Qing Gang turned the leaf into a jade pendant and carried it with him. He willingly allowed Bai Xuelu to use his feelings for her but was shocked to learn that she had helped the traitor Kongsang. Qing Gang couldn't forgive Bai Xuelu for this and shattered the jade pendant. Qing Gang asked Bai Xuelu to return the ancestral jade he had given her, but she refused, claiming she lost the jade pendant.

Zhu Yan found Zhi Yuan to inquire about his future plans. Zhi Yuan believed that under the current situation, leading the Jiao Clan back to the Bi Luo Sea was the best choice. Zhu Yan supported his decision, thinking it was the only way to restore peace between the two clans. Bai Fenglin learned from the captured Sea Kingdom soldiers about the underwater passages used by the Jiao Clan and destroyed them all to prevent the Jiao Clan from returning to the Bi Luo Sea. However, Shi Ying told Bai Fenglin that there was no need to exterminate the Jiao Clan and that they only needed to focus on capturing the Sea Emperor. Bai Fenglin requested a portrait of the Sea Emperor from Shi Ying, but Shi Ying didn't grant his request. He ordered Bai Fenglin to investigate the underwater passages and capture the Sea Emperor alive.

Qing Gang knew that Bai Fenglin was worried about him reporting the matter to Da Si Ming, and while Bai Fenglin didn't deny his collusion with Kongsang, he explained that he did so to delay the war and find opportunities for achievement. He also claimed to be prepared to plead guilty to Da Si Ming after the victory in this battle. Bai Xuelu thought Bai Fenglin had convinced Qing Gang, but he said that he only said that to buy time. If Qing Gang insisted on reporting him, he would get rid of him. Bai Xuelu wanted to dissuade Bai Fenglin from such actions, but he threatened her by using the lives of the Bai family and herself.

Zhi Yuan arranged for the Jiao Clan to evacuate in an orderly manner. Although Qing Gang wanted the Jiao Clan to leave, there were also many Sea Kingdom soldiers waiting to evacuate. Zhi Yuan stated that if the death of the Sea Emperor was the only way to end the war, he was willing to die in place of the Sea Emperor.
