> The Flame's Daughter Recap

In the bustling city of Luoyang, Feng Xixi personally sent Huang Cong, one of Prince Jingyuan's six attendants and the only woman among them, to Flower Tasting Brothel. Feng Xixi inquired about Prince Jingyuan's return, and Huang Cong informed her he would be back in two days. Expressing her desire to personally thank the Prince, Feng Xixi mentioned that he was investigating her father's old case, which involved powerful figures like Prince Jingyang and Prince Jingxian.

Huang Cong assured her the Prince would meet her upon his return and accepted the homemade snacks Feng Xixi prepared for Yu Zihan, some of which had been kept since the Double Ninth Festival because Huang Cong didn't show up then. Soon, imperial carriages arrived at Flaming Manor to escort Yu Zihan back to the palace as the Emperor was gravely ill.

Yu Zihan bid farewell to Lie Mingjing, who asked if his daughter, Lie Ruge, was suitable to become the Sect Leader. Yu Zihan admitted Ruge was currently a bit immature for the role but promised to assist her wholeheartedly if she were to take over Flaming Manor. Lie Mingjing nodded, satisfied. Ruge, noticing the imperial presence, came to say goodbye to Yu Zihan. He took with him a small copper wind chime she had given him in her youth.

He advised her that if she ever faced difficulties in his absence, she could seek help from Yin Xue, an old friend of Lie Mingjing whom her master deeply trusted. Ruge, however, felt a sense of foreboding about Yu Zihan's departure, a feeling she couldn't shake. Before leaving, Yu Zihan also cautioned Ruge about the turbulent undercurrents beneath the seemingly calm surface of Flaming Manor, urging her to be careful.

Meanwhile, Dao Wuxia brought a Mystical Icy Cup to Prince Jingxian's mansion. Prince Jingxian was wary, fearing Dao Wuxia wanted him to poison the Emperor. Dao Wuxia clarified that the cup was not meant for the Emperor, but for the Emperor to bestow upon Yu Zihan. The cup, imbued with a cold curse, would cause the victim's body to slowly decay and die, yet appear outwardly harmless, so no one would notice.

Dao Wuxia instructed Prince Jingxian to present it to the Emperor as a powerful remedy for leg ailments, knowing the Emperor would then bestow it upon Yu Zihan due to his affection for Prince Jingyuan. Prince Jingxian, who viewed Yu Zihan as a rival and knew Yu Zihan was secretly investigating him, initially worried about the cup serving as evidence.

Dao Wuxia reassured him that once Yu Zihan was poisoned, the cup would revert to an ordinary jade cup, leaving no trace. He also guaranteed that any witnesses would remain silent. Satisfied, Prince Jingxian promptly presented the Mystical Icy Cup to his father, highlighting its supposed therapeutic properties, especially for leg ailments. Back at Flaming Manor, Ruge had developed a newfound passion for cooking and proudly displayed her chopping skills to her maids, Die Yi and Xun Yi.

The maids, however, sensed her intentions to leave the manor again and playfully warned her not to depart without informing them, as she had done before. Ruge promised she would. Later, in the Bamboo Courtyard, Ruge prepared tea for her father, Lie Mingjing, who praised her refined tea-making skills.

She expressed her unhappiness within the manor, her desire for independence, wanting to support herself, and her hope that her departure would allow her father to truly assess Zhan Feng's capabilities in managing the estate. Lie Mingjing, lamenting the quietness of the Bamboo Courtyard since Yu Zihan's departure, refused to let her leave, fearing the Plum Courtyard would also become devoid of joy. He insisted that the Jianghu world was far more dangerous than she imagined.

Frustrated by her father's refusal, Ruge was approached by Yin Xue. He mysteriously offered to help her leave Flaming Manor, on the condition that she took him along. Ruge, desperate to leave, agreed to his terms if he could persuade her father. Yin Xue then sought out Lie Mingjing in the Pear Courtyard.

He reminded Lie Mingjing of an agreement made nineteen years ago, when Yin Xue had saved Lie Mingjing's life and trapped Anye Luo, thus elevating Flaming Manor's prestige. In return, Yin Xue was to take Ruge away after nineteen years. Lie Mingjing acknowledged his great debt and could not break his promise. Yin Xue then revealed that Anye Luo was nearing the end of his seclusion and would undoubtedly seek revenge on Flaming Manor and the entire martial arts world.

He offered to take Ruge to Ethereal Peak for her safety. Faced with this grave threat to his daughter, Lie Mingjing finally agreed to entrust Ruge to Yin Xue. Ruge was surprised and questioned Yin Xue if her father had truly consented. As Ruge prepared to depart from Flaming Manor, Lie Mingjing presented her with the Flaming Token, not as a symbol of affection but as a life-saving talisman. Ruge tearfully accepted, promising to return it when she came back.

She instructed Xun Yi to care for her father in her absence. Ruge and Yin Xue then set off in a carriage. When asked by a servant where they were heading, Yin Xue declared he would accompany Ruge wherever she wished to go in the vast world. Lie Mingjing watched them leave, reflecting somberly on Anye Luo's nature and the inevitable conflict between the Dark River Palace and Flaming Manor.

In Luoyang, Huang Cong brought Feng Xixi's body to Yu Zihan and informed him that Prince Jingxian had forcibly taken Feng Xixi from the Flower Tasting Brothel and subsequently killed her, fabricating a story about self-defense. Huang Cong suspected Prince Jingxian acted because Yu Zihan was returning to the capital. Enraged, Yu Zihan ordered the investigation to continue. As Yu Zihan's carriage passed the Flower Tasting Brothel, they saw it engulfed in flames, specifically Feng Xixi's room.

Upon Yu Zihan's return to the palace, Prince Jingxian directly warned him face-to-face to stop investigating him, or else "not only will a brothel lady die." Taking this threat seriously, Yu Zihan reluctantly instructed Xuan Huang to temporarily halt the investigation into Prince Jingxian, claiming the culprit's influential identity required careful, unhurried planning. He directed Xuan Huang to spread a rumor that Feng Xixi had simply left with an old merchant and would not return.

Upon Yu Zihan's return to the palace, the Emperor, pleased to see him safe, bestowed the Mystical Icy Cup upon him, despite his Third Older Brother having presented it for the Emperor's own use. The Emperor suggested it would benefit Yu Zihan's delicate health.

He then introduced Madam Yan, a divine doctor discovered by his Second Older Brother, mentioning that she claimed her senior brother had cured a stubborn illness similar to Yu Zihan's childhood hearing loss, and asked Yu Zihan to try her treatment. Though Yu Zihan suspected Madam Yan was actually An Ye Jue, the Third Palace Master of Dark River Palace disguised as the Second Mistress of Thunderbolt Clique, he agreed to the treatment to appease his father.

Madam Yan, aware of his suspicion, explained her motive was to gain the Emperor's trust and official recognition, benefiting the Thunderbolt Clique. She offered to teach Chi Zhang, the medical sage in Yu Zihan's manor, the acupuncture technique if he didn't trust her personally. Against the advice of his personal guards, Yu Zihan allowed Chi Zhang to perform the acupuncture following Madam Yan's instructions. The treatment miraculously restored Yu Zihan's hearing, though briefly.

Yu Zihan questioned Madam Yan about Yin Xue, to which she replied that he was "not a human at all," but a "strange being that's been alive for over 100 years." Madam Yan observed Yu Zihan drinking from the Mystical Icy Cup and remarked that it was a "good item" beneficial for his recovery.

Overjoyed by his restored hearing, Yu Zihan pledged to ensure the safety of the Thunderbolt Clique for a hundred years, provided they did no harm to the common people. Mindful of Ruge, Yu Zihan instructed Huang Cong to return to Flaming Manor, protect Ruge, and relay Madam Yan's comments about Yin Xue to Lie Mingjing, believing Lie Mingjing held further insights into Yin Xue's true nature.

Later that night, in a desolate wilderness, Ruge, having forgotten her fire starter, used her Flaming Fisticuffs to make fire for warmth. Yin Xue swiftly conjured an ice bow and skillfully shot down a flying bird for food, impressing Ruge with his martial prowess. Ruge admired the ice bow, and Yin Xue, sensing her interest, offered to teach her how to make one, promising it wouldn't conflict with her internal energy. However, he slyly proposed a kiss as an exchange for the lesson. Ruge playfully refused the offer, and Yin Xue said he would teach her another time.
