Dao Liexiang discovered that members of the Dark River Palace were using Flowing Fire. She immediately commanded her subordinates to cut off their hands and ordered the members of World Swordless City to protect their Flaming Manor brothers and kill all Dark River Palace members without mercy. During the intense battle, Lei Jinghong arrived, expressing his concern for her and World Swordless City, explaining that he came because the Dark River Palace wanted her city.

Dao Liexiang told him to stop being fussy and, if he truly cared, to kill all their enemies. He agreed. Hall Leader Murong also joined the fight, and they continued battling until dawn. Hall Leader Murong then devised a plan to lure the Dark River Palace members back to Flaming Manor, where archers were ready to counterattack. Inside Flaming Manor, Bi'er confronted An Ye Jue, telling Hall Leader Murong to leave the woman to her.

Bi'er relentlessly attacked An Ye Jue, declaring each strike was for "Young Master" Ji Jinglei. An Ye Jue was defeated, and Ji Jinglei approached, stating their grudges should end that day. An Ye Jue, however, revealed that Xunyi's betrayal of Lie Ruge was to protect Ji Jinglei's life, questioning if he could face Xunyi if he killed her. Ji Jinglei became agitated, insisting An Ye Jue must die for those who suffered under her.

Bi'er quickly intervened, claiming she only wanted to assist him back to Pine Courtyard and that Hall Leader Murong would handle the rest. She also made sure witnesses would confirm that Ji Jinglei had been in Pine Courtyard all day. She then insisted on taking Ji Jinglei away despite his protest, and Hall Leader Murong subsequently killed An Ye Jue as she attempted to flee. The battle was a resounding success for Flaming Manor.

Dao Liexiang invited Hall Leader Murong and his Flaming Manor brothers to World Swordless City Manor for rest and tea, though Hall Leader Murong suggested wine instead, which Dao Liexiang readily agreed to. Meanwhile, Lei Jinghong meticulously instructed his men to check the area 10 miles around the city to ensure safety. Later, Ji Jinglei awoke, and Bi'er informed him that all Dark River Palace members were dead, save for two kept for interrogation.

She assured him that she had made it appear that the killing of An Ye Jue was not his order, and that Xunyi would not suspect him. Ji Jinglei, understanding her intentions, told Bi'er that she no longer needed to address him as a maidservant, a change she happily accepted. Many celebrated the complete victory, acknowledging Yu Zihan's clever strategy that led to the Dark River Palace's power in Jianghu being completely wiped out.

Despite the celebration, Lei Jinghong, hearing that An Ye Jue, the Third Sect Leader, was dead, felt a quiet sadness. Despite the victory, concerns lingered that An Ye Luo might resort to extreme, self-destructive measures. Dao Liexiang, still feeling uneasy, decided to visit Yu Zihan’s imperial bodyguard at Flaming Manor, and instructed her City Leader to gather men to accompany her.

She also told Lei Jinghong to ensure World Swordless City was well protected against potential sneak attacks from Dark River Palace. When Dao Liexiang left the city, Lei Jinghong, still giving orders for security, confronted her, concerned about her safety given the chaotic state of Jianghu. He declared he was protecting her, but she scoffed at the idea. Regardless, he firmly stated he would not let her leave the city.

Dao Liexiang clarified she was going to Flaming Manor, and Lei Jinghong, still worried, ordered his horse to chase after her, indicating a slow dissipation of their long-standing animosity. Within the Dark River Palace, Yu Zihan and Lie Ruge conversed. Lie Ruge expressed her concern about his frequent departures, wondering where he went and for how long. Yu Zihan, asking if she trusted him, assured her he would return.

He then spoke of their future, suggesting that after the Dark River Palace was eradicated and peace restored, he would retire from state affairs, letting his Second Older Brother handle them. He proposed building a small house in the forest and asked if she preferred bamboo or wood. Lie Ruge, surprised, mentioned that as a prince, the Emperor would not approve, but Yu Zihan dismissed the notion, looking forward to a leisurely life.

He cautioned her about speaking disrespectfully of superiors, to which she playfully retorted that he would never betray her. Yu Zihan then tried to return his jade thumb ring, asking her to consider her preference for the house and tell him upon his return. Lie Ruge, however, refused to accept it, explaining that she and Yin Xue had committed to spending their lives together, and she could no longer accept precious gifts from him.

Yu Zihan tenderly reminded her that no matter who she loved, she would always be his beloved junior sister. He then asked if she resented him for deliberately placing her, Yin Xue, and Young Master Feng as bait to ensnare An Ye Luo.

Lie Ruge recalled their prior discussion: their failed assassination attempt was a planned move to gain An Ye Luo’s trust, allowing Yu Zihan to expose the Dark River Palace’s network within the government and Jianghu, even if it meant being held hostage for a time. Yu Zihan reaffirmed the necessity of this plan to eliminate such a dark force entirely. He then left, leaving the jade ring with her again.

An Ye Luo's men reported that all forces dispatched to Flaming Manor were annihilated, and An Ye Jue was likely dead. Realizing this was Yu Zihan's elaborate scheme, An Ye Luo furiously confronted him. Yu Zihan confirmed his betrayal, stating it was for the righteousness of Jianghu and the welfare of the citizens. Enraged, An Ye Luo declared he would not kill Yu Zihan but would make him suffer the same loss as himself, twisting his arm and inflicting torture.

He then hastily commanded his subordinates to go to Luoyang to stop the impeachment of King Jingyang. However, in Luoyang, King Jingyang had already succeeded in capturing all government spies colluding with Dark River Palace. Grateful to Yu Zihan for this great merit, he expressed a desire to thank him personally. Xuan Huang informed King Jingyang that Yu Zihan was unwell and recuperating at Flaming Manor, suggesting that major state affairs would now require King Jingyang's help.

King Jingyang understood this to mean Yu Zihan preferred a peaceful life over imperial power and was content to let him enjoy his "bliss." He promised Xuan Huang he would follow the clues to eradicate all of Dark River Palace's businesses and influence in society.

Xuan Huang recalled Yu Zihan's prior instructions to conceal his disappearance from the Emperor to protect his health, pretending Yu Zihan was fed up with court affairs and seeking seclusion, and eventually, after a year or two, to announce his death from chronic illness. At Flaming Manor, Ji Jinglei was distraught to learn from Huang Cong that Lie Ruge, Yin Xue, Yu Zihan, and Young Master Feng were all trapped in Dark River Palace.

Huang Cong explained this was a calculated trap orchestrated by the four of them to destroy Dark River Palace from within. Ji Jinglei felt unworthy, a blind man left behind, but he urged Huang Cong to continue. Huang Cong revealed that Yu Zihan had also discovered An Ye Luo had set up an "enchanting fog spell" in the forest surrounding the palace, a mystery Yu Zihan had not had time to solve.

This news led some to fear that their allies might be prepared to perish. Ji Jinglei immediately called a meeting, where Huang Cong presented a detailed map of Dark River Palace that Yu Zihan had personally drawn. The map was part of Yu Zihan's elaborate plan to gain An Ye Luo’s trust and expose his network. Despite having the map, the "mysterious Dense Fog Spell" remained an obstacle that even Yu Zihan, with limited time, couldn't decipher.

Neither Dao Liexiang nor Lei Jinghong had heard of such a spell from their previous encounters with Dark River Palace, speculating it was a newly erected protective screen. They agreed that mere strategizing on paper was insufficient; they needed to observe the dense fog spell at the forest's periphery to devise a way to break it. Ji Jinglei declared they would set out that very night for Dark River Palace.

Dao Liexiang and Lei Jinghong both pledged their support, offering their men to assist Flaming Manor in gratitude for their help during World Swordless City's attack. Dao Liexiang instructed her men to prepare for their departure to Dark River Palace the following day, emphasizing the perilous journey ahead and the need for heightened vigilance and unwavering resolve. Meanwhile, Bi'er informed Lei Jinghong that An Ye Jue was dead, having died at Flaming Manor while leading an attack.

She reminded him that An Ye Jue, once his stepmother and the one who raised him, deserved to have him know. Lei Jinghong asked to see the body, and Bi'er led him to it. Bi'er conveyed that Ji Jinglei would not hinder him if he wished to take An Ye Jue's body, but Lei Jinghong declared that since she killed his father, she had no right to return to Thunderbolt Clique.

Later, at the waterfall cliff, Ji Jinglei found Lei Jinghong. Lei Jinghong mused on An Ye Jue's complex relationship with him and Xunyi, recalling that An Ye Jue, despite her many opportunities, had shown him mercy. He acknowledged that while she killed his father, human emotions are complicated.

He then confessed to Ji Jinglei that he had previously blamed Dao Liexiang for being unable to distinguish right from wrong, but upon seeing An Ye Jue’s corpse, he realized he had been wrong to blame Dao Liexiang all this time. Suddenly, Bi'er emerged from hiding, revealing she had been eavesdropping and, by implication, that Dao Liexiang had been with her, as Dao Liexiang's eyes were now wet with tears.

Inside Dark River Palace, An Ye Luo received devastating news: all his businesses were sealed by King Jingyang, his influential contacts in the court were imprisoned, and various Jianghu sects, responding to Flaming Manor's call, were hunting down his remaining members. His subordinate reported that their men had nowhere left to escape. An Ye Luo expressed his shock at how swiftly his empire crumbled.

He confronted Yu Zihan, acknowledging his cleverness but then furiously vowed to make him and everyone else pay. He threatened that Yu Zihan would join his master, Lie Mingjing, in being buried, proclaiming that Lie Mingjing couldn't even save himself, let alone them. Declaring he would play until the end, An Ye Luo commanded all prisoners, including Yu Zihan, to be taken to the underground palace.

Outside, he ordered men to set up a potent Dense Fog Spell, with strict instructions to kill anyone who dared to penetrate it. Inside the underground palace, a burial ground for deceased sect leaders, An Ye Luo chillingly informed Yu Zihan that, apart from himself and Yu Zihan's mother, no living person had ever entered without being forced to commit suicide and be buried there. This grand reopening, he stated, was all thanks to Yu Zihan.
